Terra Bella

Upon smelling Terra Bella, my thought was "This smells familiar.. wait a minute..." HERMES Concentree d'Orange Verte! It is the l'eau or lighter version of d'Orange Verte, which is my favorite. The difference is that Terra Bella doesn't have the bitterness of the orange peel CdOV has. It feels lighter, transparent, airy, crisp and delicate. Terra Bella, which in Italian means Beautiful Earth, is absolutely unisex. -AB-

Mez0Nez pretty much said it all, wet earthy humid citrus, sour, detecting very slight greenish peppercorny notes I'm assuming are attributed to the myrtle, the cypress is beautiful to contrast, reminds me of a glass of orange juice in the morning (has a solar effect, very bright, slightly mineralic) on sand dunes, warm sand, not that's smelled but the place it transports you to, wonderful memories in a bottle

Started off being a refreshing citrus scent then the next minute there’s the cypress rushing up to try to take over. The two notes take turn leading for a while, in the meantime, myrtle’s no where to be seen. A rather likable perfume, even after taking the price tag into consideration. Yes, there are some similar cheaper perfumes out there and then there are also similar more expensive perfumes out there. The price for this performance per ml is not considered overpriced for me with the large 250ml bottle in mind. There are even discounters out there from the other reviews. In fact I don’t really like the price value vote here on Frangrantica at all. Perhaps it should be changed to price per ml and let the viewers decide for themselves if it’s worth that price. If the viewers are purchasing at different prices how can they give the same rate on the value of the perfume? With price per ml, maybe the viewers can ‘see’ the average price and compare it to what they actually paid for their bottles. Same perfume, if one get it at $50/ml will definitely rate on value differently than another getting at $75/ml.

This is a mature cologne, think of like a Gucci Guilty Cologne style very heavy on earthy herbal cypress that I usually hate but gets balanced out by an airy orange blossom that lifts it up and keeps Terra Bella from being a dark green. Pretty simple overall nothing too crazy but I can really appreciate and even like it despite usually hating cypress fragrance, it performs ok it’s about average and doesn’t project very far but ig if you had a fb that wouldn’t really matter too much.

I don't get much orange blossom. It's mostly a tart orangey citrus with a hint of green and a sprinkling of herbs. It's a refreshing blast up front, but dies down rather quickly to a bland, flat clean musky thing. Agree that it's hard to hate it since it's utterly inoffensive, but certainly not worth its price tag. You can get an Hermes or Roger & Gallet citrus cologne for a lot less.

Citrusy opening, herbal drydown. The citrus/orange note stays in the background throughout this cologne's development. Not much to say about it : refreshing, made of high quality ingredients and linear. Reminds me a bit of Voyage d'Hermes, a simplified version. Pleasant, but not worth that price tag.

Earthy because of the cypress, yet airy orange blossom. A majority of the new releases are minimalist, almost soliflore skin scents that bloom beautifully as skin warms. Terra Bella is both delicious and serene.

I’m still on the fence whether I should get myself a big bottle or not because of the price. I only got to try it once half a year ago, and I think I get it why this one gets a lot of disapproval here... But really, from my scent memories, I’ve used Terre D’Hermes (great one!), and tried eau Fraiche (which I don’t care about). Or Eau D’Orange Verte (which I almost bought, until I realized it disappeared within 30 mins on my skin). Bergamote 22 gives a great sillage, smells happy, but the scent profile itself, esp. when on skin, is... well, is good—just good. Then there are the offerings from FM like Bigarade Concentree and Cologne Indelible. While both are more complexed than Terra Bella, the first I know almost disappears within an hour or two, and the latter—although not as harsh and screeching as Tom Ford NF and perhaps more worthy of investing—sometimes feels strange to me. And just then, right before I was about to order myself Terra Bella, I stopped and thought about some other scents I could actually get for the price I’d have to pay for this bottle, or something that’s similar enough but cheaper, and then I couldn’t really decide...

I have always been curious about this short-lived release. It was launched in 2018, but was already completely discontinued and pretty much forgotten by the time I started exploring the line in 2021. Trying it on skin, I can kind of understand why. It's a lovely, understated, elegant fragrance. The emphasis is on a soapy orange blossom rendered in soft focus, anchored by a green, terpenic cypress note. There is a faint suggestion of a sea breeze, a streak of "solar accord," and something unplaceably earthy that recalls terracotta tiles. It's a unisex smell, but I definitely see this one appealing more to men. You could almost think of it as a (less interesting) masculine counterpart to the later Eden Roc. It does what it sets out to do very well but it is not one of Demachy's best releases for Dior. In my mind, it sits with the other most generic, marketing-driven Privée releases, alongside Rose Gipsy, Rose Kabuki, Happy Hour, Holy Peony, Spice Blend, etc. It even shares some DNA (fresh, musky, clean, obsequious...) with Sakura, Lucky, Thé Cachemire, and Belle de Jour... but those four are much better perfumes in my opinion.

Agree with henri345que. I don’t get why such a pricey line should include such an unremarkable orange blossom fragrance. In general, what Dior has done to their higher priced collection (including reformulating some of the originals) is the epitome of what fragrance nerds consider the ultimate tragedy: the attempt to please everyone, thus pleasing no one. They have nipped and trimmed and simplified to the point that there is little distinction between the scent of high end and low end. Terra Bella is muted, sort of dusty orange blossom fragrance that seems to be designed with the intent to blur the delicious, sunny-sweet scent of orange blossom into something abstract, nondescript and offensive to no one (as if the scent of orange blossom is too gaudy and needed to be tamed).

Nothing revolutionary or new but that is anyway not the concept of the line of Maison Christian Dior Collection. The concept of this line is to bring simple, well blended fragrances that somehow take you back in time by reminding you of something familiar from the past. Terra Bella is a very well blended frangrance serving as a traditional cologne. It will remind you of something familiar, something between Eau de Cologne by Chanel, Orange Verté by Hermés, Aqua di Parma Colonia Eau de Cologne. It is not an outstanding fragrance, but it is undeniably effortless, timeless, quiet and easy to wear.

I've smelled Terra Bella before in numerous much cheaper fragrances, Hermes Eau D’Orange Verte being one of them. Terra Bella is nice, inoffensive, but a bit lightweight and absolutely nowhere near worth its asking price. I've mentioned before that Dior are really "ripping the pish" with quite a few of their newer MCD line. Terra Bella is another one of them. Henri345que summed Terra Bella up perfectly when he remarked... "psychologically you do not realize that you are buying a McDonalds at the price of caviar." CONCLUSION | ★ More overpriced toilet water from MCD. Disappointing.
