I never care about Diptyque fragrances except their candles because I tried almost all of them and none of them could impress me or had bad performance. Some of them are not bad but just not so niche to my nose, more like designer with linear profile, generic and very synthetic. They just don’t have unique characteristics. One day I was browsing at Nordstrom and I finally tried this 34 BSG EDP. Surprisingly I love it so much after 10 minutes of spraying it on my skin. I then loved it even more after it dried down. The initial spray was a little too much of the cloves but it toned down a lot after 10 minutes. It is super polarizing during the first 2 hours brighten up by the citrus, cinnamon and pink pepper. After 2 hours, it gets floral that supported by the woody and Amber notes. I usually hate floral dominated fragrances but this is so warm and cozy because of the strong woody and Ambery base that makes it less floral feel. The floral is not too standout or feminine to my nose. Also it has a quite complex profile among all others in the brand. Longevity I would say it’s decent. Last 7-8 hours on my skin. Super big projection during the first 2 hours but then it would just get much closer to skin quickly sharply after 2 hours, not the kind of fading slowly. I think it is suitable for warmer climate if you could wait for 2 hours after spraying then go out. Honestly, I still think this one is still quite synthetic. I can’t really detect any natural ingredients in any of the Diptyque but this one is definitely the most complex and unique one.

A saleswoman gave it to me as a sample after my purchase of Halfeti. She was beyond excited because she doesn't find many lovers of unisex, woody fragrance lovers, as she said, and wanted to share her favourite scents with me. Well, from Diptyque she gave me this and Tempo. While on paper Tempo seemed right up my alley, I didn't like it very much; it was too sweet and cloying for me. This one however wooed me from the first minute. Amazing spicy patchouli that manages to be both recognizable as patchouli and is also a modern and complex scent. I can't stop smelling my wrist; love at first sniff! Lasting power 6-8 hours tops, projection about an arm's length in the first 2 hours and then stays close to skin. That's pretty typical for a Diptyque EDP for me. Though I vowed to myself that I wouldn't buy another fragrance bottle in 2021, I don't think I can stay away from this for too long :D

This is a cinnamon, sandalwood, amber scent that's pretty well blended and skirts along the line of being too synthetic for me at times but it's also comforting. It doesn't quite feel designer synthetic, it's higher quality than that, but it doesn't smell like a full-blown niche release, either. I guess that's sort of Diptyque in a nutshell for me! It's extremely linear to me. It's all about that cinnamon and synthetic woods (including I'd guess a hefty dose of ISO-e). If you dig things like Bulgari Man in Black I suspect you'd really like this one. Longevity is solid on me skin at around 5-6 hours. Projection is about 2-3 hours. It's a 8.0/10 for me. Although my praise doesn't sound too effusive above, something in the mix of notes really calls to me and it largely replaced my Spicebomb/Man in Black use.

Just picked up my pre-order today! The sandalwood in this is totally different from Tam Dao, or the EDT. It’s creamier and I love the tonka bean berry combo. When I read pink berries, I thought maybe it’s actually pepper, but no it’s actually tart. I will come back and add more after I get to know it better, but first impression is that this is absolutely stunning! If you liked the EDT you’re in for a real treat, and like other Diptyque fragrances the concentration is not the only difference here. The notes above have not been adjusted to account for the changes in the new release yet, but I am very, very pleased with this addition to the line.

This is so artistically blinded, if you read the note breakdown it won't make sense but the actual experience does!! The 1st time I smelled it I closed my eyes, smiled and wispered: "wow" It is reminiscent of something classy and classic but still fairly modern, it's calming with the smooth amber note but still on-your face spicy, feminine with rose and iris but still masculine with woods and spices. It's whole olfactory experience captured in a bottle... I give it 10/10 but it is not for everyone, maybe that's why under-hyped in the fragrance reviewers community.

34BSG gives me a true cottagecore vibe. It's woody, with a bright peppery note and a hint of cinnamon. There's a softness of vanilla, though it's not overpowering. It feels both vibrant and bright, yet soft and calming. There's also a floral aspect to it. Like classic perfumes, you can sense the presence of many different notes, yet it feels modern. Despite the variety of directions the notes take, everything is well-balanced. I think it's a perfect all-season fragrance, with an ideal versatility for daily wear. Truly unisex.

Diptyque 34 invigorates the senses while calming the mind. Applied to me (female) it opens with a citrusy vanilla cinnamon, mainly spice. It mellows after a few hours into a gently spicy floral, bringing out the middle notes, but maintaining that spicy vanilla nougat in the background. On men, the pH changes the opening scent into a more masculine aroma, but I haven't experienced it after several hours -- I was stunned to smell the extreme difference. I have used it in hot, humid climates and air conditioning.

Love at first sniff. I don't find this generic; perhaps a little bit "perfumy" but it's such a delight to wear! Creamy sandalwood, spicy cinnamon and clove, warm amber and vanilla, and all expertly proportioned and balanced. Chic but approachable, modern but not avant-garde, strong but not overwhelming, and marvelously unisex. Better in cool or cold weather, and appropriate for a wide age range. Diptyque makes a lot of amazing scents, but this is one of the most reliable in terms of compliments and longevity.

Rich and spicy, this fragrance is not for everyone, you must be prepared to stand out--elegantly. I do prefer this EDP version to the other EDTs in the collection. NB: Diptyque also makes a stunning bar of soap in this collection -- it's 50g larger than their other soaps, and in my opinion, it seems harder-milled. If you like a gorgeous cake of soap, treat yourself to a bar of 34 -- heavily perfumed, creamy lather, and the "34" somehow stays faintly apparent as the bar wears down.

Thi is one of the Diptyque fragrances that I believe are worth the money they ask. It has depth and provide a beautiful scent journey and the perfomance is better than average certainly compared to other Diptyque fragrances. This scent was made for Spring, of course it could be worn in Autumn but it is perfect for Spring with those florals, they are nicely balanced out with amber and woods. Absolutely lovey ! :)

At first, this one didn't wow me, although I did find it very pleasant. After testing it a few times, I like it more and more. I get a lot more fancy shaving foam vibe from it than I expected. It also has a hint of sweetness, which goes well with the slightly spicy, slightly herbal, slightly woody, shaving foam vibe. Excellent cool weather fragrance. 34 boulevard Saint Germain EdP has captivated me. It is superbly blended deliciousness with dynamic patchouli woodsiness and piquant juniper and soft rose. And there’s much more alchemy going on...I’m not able to understand it all, but I absolutely appreciate it! It is happily outgoing. It doesn’t play hide-and-seek with your nose. And thank goodness! Every single whiff is so divine.

I have read some reviews that its been discontinued which is wrong information. I just received my 75ml bottle today from Diptyque Boutique in Dubai Mall. It is still available and I did confirm with the regional manager of Diptyque in UAE who clearly rejected that rumor of being discontinuation in near future. This is a Love at first sniff and finally I got my hands on this gem.

My first niche before I knew what niche was, it’s a beautiful sandalwood that’s powdery and slightly sweet with vanilla and amber blending together. The longevity is excellent with it lasting on clothes for more than a day and at least 8-9 hours on skin and decent sillage about arms length. I don’t know much about fragrances or notes but this is beautiful and smells rich, 9.5/10.

34 Boulevard EDT came into my life after finding out my favorite fragrance maker passed away and wanted to see what other scents he had made, only to find this. If any scent were to be Olivier Pescheux's opus, this would be it. It's the most complex yet pleasant scent I've ever smelled and just gets better and better the longer you wear it.

This one makes me feel like a dame. It’s great for cooler weather and makes me feel like a notch above my regular self. It’s one of those perfumes that defines ‘perfume’, great presence without being overbearing and similar to Orphéon but doesn’t have the acridness which makes me sneeze. A classically well constructed fragrance.

One of my most complimented all time. It’s a lovely spicy sandalwood with some vanilla undertones. It’s an elegant scent with a beautiful sillage. I guess maybe 4-5 friends bought this after smelling it off me. It’s been appealing to all age ranges I guess, a friend who was in his mid to late seventies even decided to get it.

Yup...this stuff is definitely good. Stays close to the wearer, but others around can smell it. After about 4 hours I thought the scent was gone, but nope...received compliments from the two ladies behind me in the checkout line at the supermarket. 8.2/10

To me this is divine scent. Yeah its a classic modern take with such a beautiful manner that it never disappoints me. Sounds luxuries and good for formal gatherings. Diptyque never disappoints me❤️

Incredibly well blended and harmonious. No one note stands out above the others to me. Softly spicy, a little bitter and green, a base of creamy Indian-style sandalwood and amber.

An ingenious combination of scents of sandalwood, vanilla and refined amber... Suitable for moments of peace and tranquility... and intimate moments of love..

This is again one of the classics out there from Diptyque. Something really special about this is the balanced sweetness with spices and amber.

First of all, I find it very interesting to read just how differently this one seems to develop on different people in different climates. I first tried it quite some time ago in the Boutique in Berlin in cooler weather. I remember instantly being very intrigued. I remember it as strong, spicy and deep. However, my husband found it a bit too spicy and masculine for his liking. Oh well, I thought, but at least had the lady at the counter give me a sample with my purchase. And as it goes I forgot about it in my travel purse until now. Now I finally dug out my sample and tried it again in hyper humid and warm Mumbai. The opening burst for me is a lot of sweet clove and peppery citrus on a solid yet mild woody base. The intense clove blast quickly calms down a bit and gives way to some soft and powdery floral notes. Once it reached its final dry down on me in this climate it is rather soft. A nice base of sandalwood, mild clove and a touch of vanilla. Bizarrely while I generally find this to be a more winter/fall appropriate fragrance, it does wear a lot more unisex on me in warm Mumbai rather than in cool Berlin. On the downside though, while it may be more wearable for me here in India, I do find it a bit more boring here as well. Not bad, mind. I still like it a lot. But it's just not the same wow-effect that I got in cooler weather. I do like it a lot more than the EdT. The EdT made more of a room scent impression on me. This EdP on the other hand is a lot more multilayered, deep and actually smells like something one might want to wear on ones body. I kind of think though even with this one, I'd rather wear it via a body cream than in a perfume. It does smell both refined and well-groomed, yet also cozy and comfortable. Longevity, like with most Diptyque fragrances, is great on me. Sillage was a lot better in Europe, here in India it's arm-length at most. I like it, but I'm most likely not going to purchase it after all, as in Europe my husband doesn't like it on me, and in India I'm not wowed enough by it to pay for a full bottle.

Warm, easy, laid-back, comforting and classy - a scent to put you at your ease, truly unisex and with better longevity than many a Diptyque. Nothing freaky-weird about it, and perhaps a little closer to mainstream than usual for the house, without being generic. This is gentle, organic, sanded wood, and restrained spicing which adds more round, robust heft, rather than making it all spiky and startling. I didn't get much detectable on the floral side, but an exceptionally real and not-sickly vanilla note definitely holding it together in the middle. Overall it's mellow, welcoming, solid. In a word: reassuring. For me, not a lightning bolt of instant love, but a special thing and a beautifully-finished piece of work.

As long as this scent isn’t reformulated or changed in any way, Diptyque will have me as a loyal client. I buy this frequently every other month. Next, I want them to bring to go alone the lines of Dunhill Desire. Diptyque will bring performance, longevity and non irritating aroma to that DNA. That’s an award winning DNA. It will be among their best sellers. Bond no 9 is ok too but not as close to Dunhill Desire. That dna works in every situation and who is better to bring that DNA in a quality scent than Diptyque. I have not bought a bottle of this yet, however I have had a couple of samples and worn them extensively. This is such a great go-to everyday sort of frag. A little soft, comforting, and very approachable; not too overpowering, but definitely will stay with you through the day. 5-8 hours on my skin. Hopefully can find a good deal soon and get a bottle!

A bit of a signature scent for the house and well-deserving of that status. Complex, dense, a bit bright. While certainly most at home at night because of its rich, woody sweetness, it can arguably be used as a signature scent throughout the day. Consummately unisex. Great performance, remains welcoming well into its drydown.

Spicy and floral. A more mature/masculine smell for a night out or a cold day. Long-lasting and smells of high-quality ingredients yet is not overpowering. I find 3 sprays to be enough for indoor use. My favorite fragrance from Diptyque to date.

Full of character, woodsiness and vanilla (but not too sweet). Classic, elegant, spicy, fresh and clean because of flowers. I smell something different all the time, a beauty, a true love.

A pleasant and different take on clove fragrances. Honeyed cloves, bright pepper, nutty liquorice and spellbinding vanilla are the stars of the show !

Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose but manly and woody.

This flanker is very spicy in comparison to the others from the 34 line. I can appreciate the craftsmanship, but I don't know in which occasion that I would wear this. It might be good for transitional seasons like spring / autumn. It's definitely not suitable for spring / summer days even in cold AC environment. The scent profile reminds me of spicy masala chai (Indian Tea with Spices). It has an 'oriental' vibe running though. Sometimes it also can remind me of the smell of left-over cola drink if it was setting for a long time without the fizz or coldness. The idea is good but it's not my cup of "chai".

If you love this and are sad that it's discontinued, go grab some sample bottles. The Diptyque shop nearest to me still has some. This is a strong performer—just two sprays goes a long way in both sillage and longevity. I find it quite a soft fragrance in a way that reminds me of clean laundry at best, and like fabric softener dryer sheets at worst. I mean that literally in some regards, because I find that the fragrance lasts *ages* longer on clothing than it does on skin. It can be excellent worn outdoors or in very large, open spaces. I'm in my small office today and it's a bit overwhelming.

Slightly darker and more masculine than the EDT version. I detect powder and musk. Again, this one performs very differently on strip vs. skin for me. Mostly just the amber, wood, and spice are pronounced on my arm. I wouldn't purchase either for myself.

received in a Qatar airlines business class pouch I was excited to try this fragrance. Sadly I found it too heavy on the spice and a bit too masculine for my personal tastes so it has been passed along to someone who will love it more.

Opulent in its intensity, this anniversary signature bears many hallmarks of other Diptyque scents without smelling exactly like anything else in particular, but still shares some of the problematic notes you find across the line. Creamy sandalwood, amber, and vanilla at its core, with a floral backdrop and a more camphorous spice overlay from the clove and pink pepper. It's more tart and cool than you'd expect of such a fragrance, which makes it a little interesting, but I find it overpowering—one spray and it's all I can smell for hours. Femme to my nose, but in an intriguing way—slinky, sexy, but a bit androgynous. I had been curious about this one, but now I can firmly cross it off my list. It's not for me. Too much, too bombastic, with a grating and cloying synthetic hum that I can't shake. But I imagine it would suit some. (5/10)

This is sweet but not too sweet, this is super amazing one that has woody notes making it smell masculine but to me, but a woman could also wear it easily. Spiciness of the cinnamon in it makes all other notes well balanced. The silage and longevity in this one are excellent. Also, this tends to get many compliments from both genders. This is something really classy with the modern feel. This is really an olfactory experience to wear this one that is well balanced and proportioned. Pretty chic, approachable and modern. I prefer wearing it in winters. Definitely good stuff!

I get almost none of the notes listed in this, just an incredibly aggressive, bitter, wormwood/artemisia/mugwort type smell. It’s exactly like some wax melts I bought a few years back, which actually included mugwort but also pink pepper - maybe that’s contributing to the similarity. If you want something utterly lacking in sweetness or subtlety, this is a good option. Definitely more autumnal, good on a sunny afternoon or a crisp night. For me it’s just much too bold and bitter, and I wish I could get the smell out of my house.

Smells like.. and I can't stress this enough.. the inside of a nintendo cartridge. I thought I was hallucinating at first because there I was with my bottle and there it was on my arm and all I could smell was a computer fan? With added cinnamon and spices in there but it was unmistakably the smell of my computer overheating. A bit of a burning tire smell but dustier. Unfortunately a dislike but it was a funny one.

Reviewing this as it was in my diptyque 2019 advent calendar and just like the edt this one is again boring nothing special about it. Generic floral woody fragrance and you will forget as fast it wears off. No sillage 100% skin scent and 4-5 hours longevity very very disappointing for edp

Perfume version is sweeter then EDT and has warmer diffusive base. Rich florals in the opening are gone and those are substituted by spicy pepper notes. I can smell a light animalic facet in the background supporting the blend, might be some form of synthetic musk molecule?

34 Boulevard SG begins with a fleeting, cozy dash of cinnamon and a glimmer of green citrus that feels like Christmas morning in a bottle. This enjoyable warmth is nice for about 3 seconds before almost immediately, a sharp medicinal undertone creeps in, and dominates the entire scent bubble. The once-inviting spice turns pungent and assaulting, like a concoction brewed in a pharmacy rather than a perfumery. Cloying, oppressive, annoying, leaving no room for nuance. No cassis, florals or vanilla in sight, nope. What begins as festive quickly spirals into overwhelming and unbearable, making it a scent that’s harsh on the nose and hard to revisit.

This is a very sexy, heady fragrance that is loud and unapologetic. It reminds me of a rich old woman who douses herself in jewelry. I live in a tropical climate where people prefer fresh fragrances so the times where I can wear this is very limited. Not a lot of people can appreciate this fragrance and I'm scared to wear it everyday since I have gotten both good and bad comments on it. Some have said that it smells like a perfume their grandfather would wear (typically those who like fresh scents and are not that exposed to good quality perfumes and I find that those people who gave bad comments usually stuck to the Bath and Body Works scents) while others would compliment me on how good I smelled, one time I sprayed this on myself in my cubicle at work as I was getting ready to leave and a co worker across the room stood up and declared that he knew what he was smelling was me. That co worker tended to compliment me on this perfume a lot. Very polarizing, I know. I think to get it right, this must be worn during the colder seasons because it is very spicy and reminds me of perfumes made in the more glamorous years like the 80s. Younger people might turn their noses in disgust when they smell it but people who prefer richer scents will enjoy this. Honestly when I'm feeling snobbish and kind of want to offend people just by walking past them, I will wear this. haha

I appreciate Diptyque fragrances in general, and I really wanted to love this, but it wasn't to be. I enjoyed wearing 34BSG in EdT format and used up around 10 mL or so. It was the eucalyptus note that pulled me in and kept me coming back to that fun, intentional hot mess of a fragrance. After a while, however, the EdT started to grate on me - while it had initially seemed well-blended, it started to come apart on my skin, and all I could smell was something akin to melting plastic. The EdP unfortunately takes the synthetic aspects of the EdT and ups the ante. The most straightforward way to describe the EdP is to imagine taking the EdT and adding Iso-E super (for the "well-blended" effect), maybe some Mysore Wood 260108 B (for the "creamy" effect) and the most generic synthetic "spice" note you can find (the one that screams "department-store fragrance for men"). These scratchy and synthetic aspects of the fragrance emerged pretty quickly - within 10 minutes of application, my eyes and the back of my throat were burning. With the exception of Tempo and Volutes, I haven't cared much for Diptyque's releases over the past few years. Perhaps they have just undergone a stylistic change that I am still getting my mind around? I guess I'll stick with the older favorites.

This is a lovely fragrance that is warm, sexy, and formal. Think "dinner party" after a night at the art gallery. 34 EDP definitely captures that "shop" mood Diptyque is going for. I totally get that experience and imagine wood tables with corked brown glass bottles on top. On me, 34 EDP is spicy with sweet woods, amber, vanilla, creamy sandalwood, with chai-inspired spices and background florals. I don't get a lot of citrus nor cassis from this version. Compared to the EDT, it's heavier and more dramatic. It's the back of the shop instead of the front, near the windows. Maybe even the back rooms, where all the magic happens.

I fel in love with Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir, but unfortunately after a few hours, it turned sour on my skin. I’ve been trying to find a new scent after that one, but nothing stood out like PN, until this! I live in a tropical climate and fhis does not turn on me. The dry down is as pleasant as the initial spray and it lasts all day. My new signature scent!
