Eau de Lierre Eau de Toilette

So I have been searching for a daytime summer fragrance which was not too invasive, citrusy or sweet for a long time. I tryied everything but I wasn't impressed very often and then by chance this came to me. I don't like to smell like some object,particular plant or whastoever drink /food, I want to smell good, different,delicate and as a clean respectable people without turning heads necessarily (there are occasions where I do and I use statment fragrancese). This smells unbelievable, so so vegetal scent! not vegetable-like, aromatic food plants or boring synthetic greenery. Its like sap! pure sap in the opening. Take any leaf a tree or bush and you'll have this exact smell. So authentic! after say 30 minutes, it starts to lift gradually as that spring mist over a brook in early mornings and you are left with these amazing soft flowery carpet of notes! Cyclamen and freesia, lily of the valley..maybe some violet? elegance all over the place which almost moves me. Never happened with a perfume! It's an experience! after many hours you are left with woody-musky notes which stick to your skin. you could call it mainstream, boring, nothing new but it's perfect. can't argue that! Ok so this comes only in edt and luckily so, edp wouldn't make sense for such a light scent. Nevertheless when you spry it you can see the oil on your skin which makes me thing, since the dont have edp, that the have increased the concentration. On me it lasts days! I love it, I can't explain how much! It's art deco, bourgeois french tea garden. You continuosly get these splashes of notes which you can really split every time you move your body. People will always feel you are around without being intrusive. I am a 27 year old guy, I work in contact with a lot of people and whit this you just get compliments, can't go wrong, it's pleasing everybody! I don't see it too feminine, anybody could make a good use of it! any age. Chapeau!

Good god I am OBSESSED with this perfume!!!! This is one of my favorite scents OF ALL TIME, and I’ve tried surely thousands and thousands! I just LOVE the bitter greenness and the realistic dewy freshness of this. It smells just like REAL greens, swept away to a gorgeous secret garden in the city or town, enclosed in brick walls covered in ivy, shady and damp, slightly cool yet still warm at the same time inside, full of the LUSH scent of REAL fresh ivy and dewy ferns. You can even smell a bit of the soil and petrichor, just enough to make it real, but not so much to distract from the utter green freshness of the leaves. But this is NOT a calone, ozone, or aquatic fresh, no way. This is THE most natural, GREENEST freshie that is airy without being ozonic and truly feels refreshing and cool and damp and PERFECT for hot weather (but excellent any time of the year, truly). This is a complete and utter masterpiece that I CANNOT BELIEVE does not get more praise and hype! I can only think that must be because it’s rare and not too many people have tried it? Because if they had, they’d be singing its praises. This is THE BEST green scent I’ve EVER tried to date, and I first tried this one in 2018-still hasn’t been beat! Not even close! Probably one of the closest things I’ve had to a signature scent in that time too, even though I only just acquired an actual bottle very recently, I cherished my samples in the meantime and then later the memory of them, and this (along with a few other scents) is just one of the most *me* perfumes in addition to being one of my all time favorites and containing some of my all time favorite notes. It just feels one of the very few scents worthy of being called a signature for me, even though in reality I don’t think anyone would associate any one single perfume with me over an extended period of time because I just wear too many! Haha

I got this after falling in love with Lilyphea, and realizing I love the profile of dewy florals. It opens very green - I expected leafy green like Philosykos, but it’s a much more “juicy green pepper” sort of green. I understand the comparison. That vegetal greenness doesn’t last too long though, and fades to a watery floral musk. This reminds me of lily pads more than Lilyphea does! I find even though it’s light, it does have good staying power on my skin and clothes. On skin I can smell more of the watery florals, but on clothes some of the greenness sticks around. It really does smell like a magical fairy pond with morning dew on all of the pretty flowers and wet tree bark. Edit: this perfume CLINGS to clothes like crazy!! I thought it was light at first, but it’s definitely not. It’s a sneaky beast mode (at least on clothes). I sprayed this on my sweater (the one I throw on for my daily morning walk) and I can still smell it sooo strongly three days later. Even though it’s an edt I’d say it performs like a strong EDP on clothes. Also, I’d say this could work all year round. It’s light and dewy enough for spring and summer, but has enough of the cool wood/mossy/wet floral/warm ambergris vibe that it would work in the fall and winter too, if you need a break from the typical fall/winter scent profiles

Naturalistic perfume perfection from Diptyque. A hyper realistic botanical scent of having your face pressed close to the dirt; come spring and fresh rains. The sense of being entwined with the ancient vines of the deepest green ivy. Here it smells like rebirth, as though mother nature herself is greeting you back home again. If you like the green and natural genre, and the smell of untamed as they are plants (this is pure Ivy and Cyclamen!) Then I assure you - this scent will be a treat and one to treasure for you too. With the other reviews here...Yes, it IS linear, and in a way simple, but there is nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all. It simply does what it was developed to do and there is perfection and beauty in its simplicity, like the nature it captures. This is still, pure, simple and calming. However, it is also with such rich, great green grandure; it seems a hymn, a tribute to nature in a bottle too. I wouldn't ever be without this one in my collection. Brilliant longevity on me, and my partner, with moderate and intimate sillage. I adore it! This is my partners daily signature scent too, so of course that makes me love it even more. Personally, I love to layer it with Philosykos, to ramp up the green edge of things (one to try if you own both of these from this house).

Oh dear. Could someone buy this for me, like a bathtub-worth of it, and emerge me in it?! WONDERFUL. It's so wonderful, it's hard to express for me. I get the green, woodsy notes, but I also get the creamy musk and slightly sweet floral notes balanced with green pepper. This scent quenches your thirst, it's so airy and juicy, like the most refreshing water you could ever drink. It also strangely reminds me of fresh laundry that dried in the sunlight, that wonderful smell of the cotton that absorbed sunshine and summer wind, that's in the drydown. And that's on a warm day - this has the most beautiful scent leftover on your clothes I've ever experienced! SPRAY IT ON YOUR CLOTHES. You will see what I'm talking about when you smell your scarf/blouse/top the next day. Heaven! This is my signature scent, mixed with Prada Infusion d'Iris creates the most amazing fragrance to me. Now you know my secret recipe! It's such a divine blend, a wonderful scent for a 25+ year old, who wants to stay away from all of the sweet traps of vanilla-like mainstream smells or is looking for something else than 'fresh citrus'. It's sparkling, elegant, fresh and VERY memorable. I absolutely love it. (7)

EAU DE LIERRE smells so incredibly green and fresh but without smelling too much like a vegetable garden or sharp citrus notes. It is just like a green goodness, the smell of grass, trees, and leaves on a hot summer afternoon. The cyclamen gives it a nice floral tone in the heart notes but it is not a floral perfume. The floral note is peaking shyly through the green grass to remind us that there are beautiful flowers among the endless fields of green. Gorgeous summer scent! This is the third scent I try from Diptyque and all of them seem to share very natural, lovely and gentle qualities. The scent opens with lovely ivy, green pepper and woods combo. It is so green, gentle and pleasant to wear. It blends beautiful with the nature too and great on a hot summer day. In the heart notes the cyclamen provides very gentle floral accent. The composition remains very tender and romantic. The dry down brings very gentle woody green notes and soft musk. Beautiful green and fresh perfume for summer! I love it and definitely recommend. The longevity and sillage are medium but I still love it. (Overall score – 9/10)

An enchanting green scent with a fresh ivy leaf in the central role. There’s a crunchy earth note with a lot of spices in the dry down. I’m picking up pepper and fennel. I really enjoy realistic scents that don’t announce your arrival, and that’s exactly what Eau de Lierre does. I know there are longevity complaints on Fragrantica, but I’m getting several hours before Eau de Lierre fades. I consider that performance very good. This is an Eau de Toilette and behaves as such, and personally I have grown to love this limited EdT performance in my fragrance repertoire. I don’t always need beast mode. Diptyque is a reliable house that leans natural in everything they do. There are exceptions, but typically their compositions are easy to wear. They may be in the niche house, but they are always friendly and welcoming. It’s the smile that greets you at the front door. Edit: I read that at least one other person mentioned pepper, so I feel validated and know that it’s not just my weird sense of smell.

Initially, I had been wearing this on clothes instead of skin, and I find this makes a big difference in this fragrance and how it wears over time on me. I find on skin, it stays more milky green like when it is first sprayed as opposed to on clothes where it smelled woody. The perfumer is Fabrice Pellegrin, and I love all of his Diptyque creations. I really want Tam Dao EDP next as it is the most different of the ‘green’ genre fragrances in this line. I would say this is the same DNA, yet still distinct, as Philosykos, both photorealistic ‘green’ fragrances as many have said. Tam Dao is green with an Italian cypress note, which is my favourite scent and tree, but there is something more ‘Indonesian’ about it, so it is less photorealistic. At first, I was in between “ok” and “like”, but now that I discovered it on skin, I really love this, and I am so happy I bought it. Silage is decently prominent, and longevity is good. Surprised it is an EDT formulation. Gender-defying.

This is a very unique green scent. It's starts as fresh green vegetables: chopped romaine lettuce, celery, English cucumber, all damp with water. Then as it "settles" it goes into freshly cut up leaves and grass, again, soaked in cold water. It's very vegetal and astringent. It's a very watery scent. I don't want to say aquatic or marine, because that seems to imply a certain seawater type freshness in my mind. The water in this is literally like the cold lawn water on a bed of green grass. I know lawn water does not sound romantic, so let me take a moment to be idyllic and liken it to the smell of a fresh knoll of grass, dotted with stray wild flowers. At the bottom is a creek or stream filled with cold, clear, clean water. This is one of my favorite green scents. So realistic, and simplistic. The staying power, which is it's downfall, is not great. Lasts typically only 2 hours on me.

This is such a beautiful toilette, good longevity and wafts of this beautiful fresh, floral and slightly woody. It's so beautiful and an excellent blind buy. I went to Selfridges where they have a perfume stand, I tried so many perfumes, (luckily this had its name and notes on the smelling strip. On first spray can be quiet overwhelming and a little too strong, and the dry down is amazing! Very fresh ivy green type beautiful toilette, why on earth they've not done a perfume is beyond me. That is the only reason I have procrastinated on buying it as I like quiet potent smelling fragrances, needless to say (this lingers and you can smell in the most inoffensive fashion. It is definitely a blind buy perfume (that you'll appreciate and people in your company will too. I'm going to buy this today, after 24 hours and I can still smell this on the paper strip, smells gorgeous!

Someone please share the nose behind this MASTERPIECE because I’m dying to learn more about his/her/their other creations. It’s my #1 favourite by the house of Diptyque, even above L’eau Trois and other iconic blends from the Serge Kalouguine era. I truly enjoy this from the first second till its complete dry down. Don’t be fooled by the hyperrealistic green opening and the EDT label! The dry down has the most amazing and balanced woody accords - grounded by the gentle dusty scent of the earth, calmed by the lingering green notes, all accompanied by a very approachable musk. It lasts from morning till evening on myself - and it’s totally fine to overspray because this smells just so natural and transparent. On my sweater, it lasts more than a week!!! This is so underrated and I honestly can’t ask for more!!!

I think this Diptyque perfume is really underrated! My first experience with Eau de Lierre shocked me. I hadn't expected such a realistic scent of wet soil and cut grass and was impressed, amused, and perplexed all at the same time. On the blotter strip, the grassiness remained pretty strong even after 24h, but on me, it eventually dried down into this sweet and woody skin scent. The drydown smelt very similar to Chloe's Fleur de Parfum on me. I live in a tropical climate and thought this would not last very long but I was wrong. It clings onto your skin and you will be able to catch whiffs of it throughout the day. I eventually bought this secondhand off a seller who was gifted this and did not like the scent, but I foresee myself going through this fairly quickly and making continual repurchases!

I agree with everything teh said below. As someone in search of the perfect “earthy green” scent, this has become my signature scent. When you first spray this, to me, I imaging the inside of vines (thus the Ivy notes lol). It stays a green fragrance all the way through, although towards the end it turns sweeter - I would imagine that’s the musk coming out. If it is musk, it’s the best musk I’ve ever smelled. I am not a fan of green perfumes in the sense of heavy florals- I want to smell like the earth and the greenery. However the sweetness/musk at the end of the dry down is a perfect compliment to this otherwise green scent. Projection isn’t massive, but if I spray this on clothes/jackets or in my hair it literally lasts for weeks! Are there any other “green” scents from Dyptyque I should try?!

Eau de Lierre is a thing of beauty. I have been desperately searching for a green, earthy, melancholic floral ever since my one true love De Profundis got discontinued. I have tried many and none came close to how DP made me feel, until now. The floral aspect in Eau de Lierre is extremely subtle, and the scent profile is nowhere near as complex as DP, but it definitely scratches the itch, and it scratches it GOOD. It opens with ozone and green woodiness and eventually settles into crushed leaves and floral petals on a soft, damp soil. It evokes an abandoned, peaceful garden in a moonlight. Oh, to smell like a forest fairy in a land of sickly gourmands...

Summer in bottle. Freshly cut grass together with the way earth smells when it's heated up in hot summer day. Very special, very green, earthy and natural. Very comforting and "happy" perfume. Makes me think of lazy summer afternoons in countryside, sleeping on grass, sunbathing, the sun is shining, the grass and earth smells lovely, the air is fresh and warm. You sleep with your eyes shut and inhale and somehow feel the part of it - summer, lazyness, no worries, pure pleasure. Eau de lierre have captured it, it's very special. I don't even want to talk about notes, because they do not matter, only what feeling have they made is what matters.

This is a nice perfume, very strong green, ivy scent. I like to wear it mixed with Philosykos as it tends to tone down the strong ivy scent. Great for summer as it is refreshing and like most of the other Diptyque perfumes, does not give me a headache no matter how much I spray on. Very easy to wear if you like green perfumes. Update: the more I wear this perfume, the more I love it. It is so clean, watery and fresh that it makes me feel like I have just stepped out of the shower. Very pretty for every day of the year, I will have to buy the 100 ml bottle as I only have the 50 ml and I can see myself wearing this a lot.

I bought a sample of this first, and it took quite a few wears to decide if I liked it enough to buy a FB. At first I wasn't getting the ivy 'greeness' that many reveiwers mentioned, I got only the woody, musky notes. The more I wore it though, the more I liked it, and I began to notice the ivy, or rather the idea of ivy, not the sharp green of an actual leaf. I also noticed a 'grassy' feel, more like walking on wild meadow grass baking in the sun than on a well tended lawn. I've come to love this fragrance, and now have a FB. Longevity is decent on me, sillage is minimal.

I live in a tropical country and this scent gives off a photorealistic starfruit note! Which makes me smell “unique” but also familiar to people around me. My signature scent has been Lombre Dans Leau and I purchased Eau De Lierre as a scent for warmer weather as I find the blackberry drydown for Lombre EDT abit sweet and stuffy for summer. Eau De Lierre has a subtler green scent and the drydown for this one is an addictive clean-musky skin scent that can’t go wrong at anytime of the day. Performance wise it’s transient on the skin but lingers on clothes.

This is my phantom scent. Really!!!🌿 I spray this perfume on myself in the morning before work, (on skin, and a bit on my shirt) and it accompanies me all the way. Then later, just when I think I can't smell it anymore, and the scent completely disappeared, ...someone comes up and says how strong and good I smell. Like.... HOW??? I can't believe how much I love this scent. it's very green, very fresh, like a deep green garden, with lots of ivy, after a heavy rain at spring. This is my most realistic scent, ever. I bought it blindly, with no regrets. 🌿🩵

Supergreen! Like if you went out in the garden, tumbled around in the grass, and went inside and ate a cucumber. It might not be that exciting for some, but it smell really clean and natural. It is maybe the one scent I reach for the oftest, when I want to smell clean but not overwhelm anyone. As I am quite sensitive to smell myself, I am careful to use strong perfumes very sparingly, but this one needs a couple of sprays. I do not mind if you only smell it on me if you give me a hug. It is linear and comfortable, I think unisex. Im quite fond of it.

A crushed flower stem in the truest sense... the green note here isn't just plant sap, it also has a milky feel. Wonderful! Something dewy floral going on here too... The scent gives such a sheer feel that I was in awe. People have said it has no base notes, and I absolutely disagree, I think it has a musky base that's simply stripped of anything heavy, and that's what makes it a gentle, sheer green scent. Smelled it. Got thwacked in the head with a childhood memory of playing hide-and-seek in a garden maze. As an ivy scent, it's pretty literal. It smells like you're crouching in a hedge. I without any hesitation or regrets got a full bottle after my sample because it feels like a smell that's interconnected with memories I want to think of and emotions I want to draw upon. But other people are going to smell this and go, "that's straight up a bush" and I don't disagree with that at all.

What an elegant fresh woody summer perfume! The closest to my old favourite L'eau D'Issey than I ve ever smelled in the drydown!!!Absolutely love it! If you like white florals with green, citruslike top notes and a woody, velvety, creamy drydown then it could be something for u. The difference to Issey maybe is the rosewood and geranium which is a stunning alternative. That should be my summer hit from now on! Anyway if you hate L'eau D'issey you ll sure not love this one either...

This feels like an eau de toilette through and through, and I really do love it, especially the opening. It’s green and leafy, like freshly cut stems: crisp, damp, slightly bitter, and airy, before softening into an almost watery green note. It’s like walking through a shaded garden after the rain, more vegetal than herbal, with a cooling, slightly resinous undertone running underneath. The drydown settles into a light, musky, mildly woody base that stays close to the skin.

This perfume reminds me of early mornings from my childhood. Crisp morning breezes from the greenery’s dew accompanied by gloomy, overcast weather as my parents take me to school. It’s an emotional fragrance to me, and I love smelling this on my skin. It’s soft, fresh, and beckons you to cherish the emerging spring season. I definitely will be adding this to my collection, and I invite you to smell this at a local Diptyque boutique if you can. It’s so underrated!

This one reminds me of those trendy, healthy veggie smoothies. Those smoothies with a lot of greens but mixed with a little bit of fruits so that the pungent herbal earthyness of the greens would be cut off, thus being more palatable. Although this fragrance isn't fruity by any means. It's just that the green vegetal notes that I get from this fragrance isn't too pungently herbal and earthy, to the point of almost smelling medicinal.

Fresh and very natural. Unlike most green fragrances, this is not in any way bitter on my skin. The main notes I smell are ivy and cyclamen and the scent stays very similar throughout wearing it. The only downside to this is its weak performance. I get max 1 hour and I have to spray at least 3-4 times while usually 1 or 2 sprays are enough for my liking. Still, it is such a lovely scent that I'm tempted by the 100 ml bottle!

I'm honestly surprised that no one mentioned the similarities between Eau de Lierre Diptyque and Un Jardin En Mediterranee Hermès. It instantly reminded me of it. Both are totally unisex. Now if only it had longer longevity and sillage it would be the only perfume I would wear in spring/summer seasons. Definitely a blind buy. I just can't describe how amazing this juice is!!! GO to the mall and buy it NOW!!!

This is very greenhouse, garden like. It is green and slightly bitter on my skin. Like if you broke the stem on a flower in a garden. I like it very much. It is not heavy in any way. A true spring perfume. The drydown has some light sweetness to it. This is a scent I like from beginning to end. The bottle is gorgeous.

This is the most natural, wonderful green scent I've experienced so far. It smells like a fresh spring rain amongst luscious green vegetation. Unfortunately, longevity and sillage are not great, especially for that price; but I still bought a flask. That's how wonderful it smells.

Eau Lierre is pure magic. Pixie dust, an enchanted forest, all the whimsy of a fairy living among greenery. Crispy crushed ivy leaves and damp soil make it incredibly photorealistic, yet there's a magical touch that lifts it into the realm of dreams. Soft and green throughout.

This is my new signature scent. i only regret that i bought the 1.7 rather than 3 oz size. it reminds me of a walk in a green, mossy woods on a spring day with dew still hanging in the air. calm, fresh, green. just made for me!

linear dry grass in sunlight. opens a window. realistic and could be carefully layered to give the first impression you've just been sitting in a garden. not rainy or wet, just clean.

If a Kate Bush song were a scent. Utterly in love with this! Update: the description says green pepper and on me it's very strong. It needs to be added to the note pyramid!

So I just sprayed some of this on my arm and have my nose buried in it while typing - I have a very long nose. Let me start by stating that this is NOT a feminine scent. This is also NOT a masculine scent. It is an experiential scent. So gentlemen I know it is listed as a Feminine scent but do not hesitate in sampling this one. I'm sure many of you will be surprised and love it. The top starts off really wet and peppery. I'm not talking water accord wet, but instead a real wetness. My arm - the one I sprayed a few minutes ago (I type slow) is absolutely dry but I get this fragrance of wetness lofting off ever so gently. Then there is the pepper, but more about after the star of the show - the Ivy. And what an Ivy it is! It's not a generic Ivy scent but more the experience of Ivy. You can see the wetness of the green leaves. It's fresh Ivy and it's young Ivy. It's early May Ivy in the morning while the sun has just begun to rise - Ivy that's still on the vine. It is slightly cool but that's where the pepper comes in - the warm pepper neutralizes some of the cool sharpness. Warms it a bit. Like standing in the exterior doorway of a warm house while a cool breeze rushes over half your face - a beautiful play of cool and warm. But just as the first breath of freshness when opening that back garden door begins to fade an immediate drizzle of wet mortar behind the Ivy begins to radiate into the air. It doesn't smell like mortar but instead evokes the wetness of stone. This is no typical green scent - it has 'space' to it. It is not a 'closed intimate room' but an atrium garden with potted plants and a little meandering stone walkway. It has openness but is enclosed like a garden with half-height brick walls. Too small for a large tree but open to a sunless sky. I agree totally with Sofiii on the drydown. It is a soft skin scent - the scent you might have on your skin after lifting raked maple leaves which have absorbed some soil scent into a paper bag. Now that I think of it - it is more the experience of the garden and how nice the garden makes you feel after working in it. Also, one of those very rare fragrances that has a noticeable ambergris note.

Eau de Lierre is a very fine option for warmer seasons and is quite versatile, but you have to love the genre to appreciate it. It opens with a smell of crushed, damped ivy leaves. It's fairly strong and bitter, certainly unusual and, I'd even say, pleasant. Later it's joined by a geranium note of aromatic quality and a touch of unidentified woods. That combination stays for a solid amount of time, and then it dies in a rather classic musky-woody drydown. All that said, I'm still a bit puzzled by 'for women' label, as I don't see why men shouldn't wear this. However, I was unable to spot even a trace of anything floral on my skin, aside from geranium(whose floral side wasn't emphasized at all, so it doesn't count), so it's maybe a matter of my skin more than the perfume itself. Eau de Lierre stays on my skin for a very solid amount of time, but most of that time I was in the drydown, which is quite underwhelming. The top and heart parts accounted for two or maybe three hours of that time and that disappointed me a bit. Its projection is fair in the early stages, and later it stays glued to the skin. All in all, this is a solid green scent, with a decent uniqueness to it, but it really leaves a feel of an unfinished product, after a nice two or three hours period. That being said, I still feel it's worth trying. 7.75/10

I like the scent of ivy well enough in real life, but I never would have thought of it as a likely candidate for a perfume note until I heard about Eau de Lierre. So I was a bit skeptical, but intrigued, and eager to test it. Like others have mentioned, there are a lot of floral and woody notes listed here, but this scent is really all about ivy. There are only just enough other things going on in the background to make it smell like you put on this scent on purpose, and you didn't just come back from an adventure in an ivy bush: at the start there's an aquatic vibe, and then later on the aromatic accord is emphasized a bit, maybe by the geranium. So as you'd expect, it's definitely very, very green, and very unusual. That's a wonderful thing - a breath of fresh air among the usual summer perfumes. I like Cereza's description of how this scent can evoke a summer day, and I agree with Hoxx that it's totally unisex, but I think you have to really love the scent of ivy to want to wear this very often. For me a little decant to revisit it from time to time would do.

When they say this has an ivy note they really mean it! I love this ivy scent - cool,crushed green leaves, deep dark foresty ivy. I know the scent of it so well, from all my walks and from collecting bundles of it for Christmas decorations. This is, as others have said here, exactly like a crumbling stone wall festooned with ivy, sunlight dappling the leaves with a little warmth. Eau de Lierre is totally unisex, if anything I'd say the dry down leans towards masculine. Not that I'm gendering it as such, I just mean the dry down notes are those you might associate with men's perfumes rather than your average female sweet floral perfume. This has zero sweetness, its cool dark green scent is ideal for hot days, exactly the feel of stepping into the cool shade of a forest at noon in mid summer. At the first sniff you have a deep green ivy scent with not a hint of sweetness. A fragrance that smells of dark, succulent ivy leaves and fulfilled my expectations completely. Unfortunately, from here the notes do not deepen but turn rather light green and vegetal (as in green bell peppers or flower stems) very quickly. While this surely was a deliberate artistic choice it does not cater to my tastes. I just cannot stop wishing this had gone into a different direction - deeper, darker, earthier, maybe with some sort on a twist - from that very promising start. Still this is a nice, slightly unusual fragrance - unisex and covering a broad age group - that might do the trick for you if you are looking for an uncomplicated green. However, personally I will not be getting a bottle. TD;DR: Bell pepper ivy

Diptyque EAU DE LIERRE is a crunchy floral green with true unisex appeal. Among the dominant notes appear to be both hyacinth and lily of the valley. There's a significant amount of brownish grassiness here—as in the grass is becoming dry without quite being dead yet. EAU DE LIERRE is definitely greenish, but there's not much overlap here with übergreens such as MA GRIFFE or FUTUR. The overall effect is clean but in a back-to-nature not a fresh-from-the-shower way. I like it. Although some floral greens (read Gucci ENVY) grate on my nerves as their all-too-synthetic renditions of lily of the valley expand to the point of near suffocation, here the notes all seem very natural and do not grow like the blob over time. EAU DE LIERRE is a gentler, calmer floral green. Perfect for warm weather!

I admit it, I’m a Diptyque fan boy. While I don’t love everything from the house, I do love a bunch of them, including this one. It opens green, just so green! Ivy Water is a perfect name for this fragrance. In the mid I get a little menthol like note, and to be honest, this isnt’ my favorite part of the progression. Once it dries down in smells like a nice green soap. So good for Spring. It’s listed as a feminine fragrance on Fragrantica, but I think it 100% unisex. I find it projects very softly but lasts for a good amount of time. This is a good one.

If you’re a fan of green scents for spring (groundbreaking) this is for you! Super realistic damp ivy scent, like being in an overgrown wood in the rain. I like this a lot, but it really doesn’t last long, you can smell it if you sniff exactly where you sprayed it throughout the day but in terms of projection beyond that it lasts an hour at most on me. The bottle is very big so you get your moneys worth, but with the amount of reapplication you need to do it lasts a shorter amount of time. I decanted some into a travel atomiser.

This fragrance turns out to be a wonderful alternative to CK's "Truth" for men, appearing more natural but as equally fresh. This observation, however, raises the question whether Diptyque have problems with the sexes: Most of their fragrences are declared as uni-sex, but really I wouldn't recommend "Tam Dao" for women, or "Duelle" for men. This one is declared as women's perfume, but in fact happens to be uni-sex. Conclusion: Lierre is recommended for both sexes, but for men it's a true winner. ****

Lovely, very clean, elegant skin scent. Virtually no sillage. Naturalistic green vegetal, with a hint of depth and an almost-sandalwood, earthy note in dry down (about 25 mins after initial application of 2-4 sprays per pulse point). Very enjoyable to wear, fresh, soothing an unobtrusive. There is both a sense of dryness and succulence, somehow. I wouldn't buy this, but would happily borrow it from someone (I suppose I mean, help myself to a surreptitious spray or two) – if that was possible!

absolutely fascinating. was not a huge fan upon the first spritz so I left the store, but I kept smelling something so fresh and light and realizing it was this scent I had tested. Settled wonderfully into my skin, but has strangely metallic/bloody notes after a few hours. the blood is fresh, and drawn knowingly, like when you bite too much skin off of your lip, or suck a bloody bug bite-- its not a surprising smell, somehow. Not that interesting to begin with, but it settles in nicely.

The opening is green like grass and lush and wet and beautiful. I do get a light watery floral note that seems very cyclamen and a strong geranium. I like it. Than it shifts and gets more airy and salty with an occasional fresh laundry note. Kind of like standing near the vent from the dryer in the most verdant lawn ever near the beach. With a heavier application the geranium lasted longer and it was less laundry more crisp green floral. The longevity is so-so. I was able to get 8 hrs

This is my second ivy-based scent to smell. I like this profile that is called "ivy" -- even though I have one growing at home, it doesn't smell. This ivy scent is good but I wish it was stronger and if possible, lasting longer too. The other scent with stronger ivy is January 28th 3pm Hotel Cristallo. That one is both aquatic-ozonic-snowy-fresh so it has some very specific imaginations for me. Eau de Lierre didn't cause any such dreams but is good anyway.
