Eau de Minthé

Well, this is truly water of mint. Just scented water. They say mint is a very volatile note that dissipates quickly. I applied this two hours ago and it's now gone. I like the initial scent profile a lot. If it was long-lived I would be all over it and buy a bottle. I've tried three Diptyque's now, three outstanding scent profiles with terrible performance. I like mint and mentholated frags. I like Drakkar Noir and its clones, like Dakar. I like Creed Viking and Virgin Island Water, both of which, despite being moderate performers, can have "sneaky" longevity. Diptyque should have created a scent with longevity like Drakkar Noir, with other long-persisting notes in support and just amped up the mint. But no doubt Diptyque intended this to be a water scent. Spraying it more only goes so far. I've got 5 sprays on clothes and 4 on skin. Gone. Houses that don't meet demands of performance can point to olfactory efficiency, intent, or whatever. But we consumers rightfully don't care. This smells nothing like Chanel Platinum Egoiste or Maison Martin Margiela Replica Series At the Barbers. It smells much more like a very weak Drakkar Noir/Dakar/Houbigant Duc de Vervins/Caesar's Man. And, Eau de Minthe is NOT A FOUGERE. If you disagree I suggest you do a little reading on the Fougere. Its similarity to Drakkar Noir is through the mint note. No lavender-coumarin accord. As someone opined below: "vaguely a fougere, but just in the way that any barbershop fresh scent is sort of a fougere (here lacking oakmoss or coumarin in the base to really push it to a classic reference)", at least they challenge and qualify the Fougere classification. There are aspects of Eau de Minthe that are "fougere-like" or fougere-esq. If a fragrance doesn't have lavender it should prompt questions of a Fougere classification. Classifying this as simply a Spicy Aromatic, as this Fragrantica page does, would suffice and be more accurate. Anything and everything is called a Fougere these days. And they are being sloppy by calling these things "modern" fougeres. Eau de Minthe would be great with a lavender note though. Update: I got a full bottle because I really like the scent profile. It smelled deeper and richer on card than I remembered from my decant. I'm wearing it now, sprayed heavily, and its performing pretty well. I'm still getting occassional natural wafts of light scent to my nose after 4 hours. I notice that in the drydown the patchouli/woody accords become more prominent. That kind of mimics a coumarin accord. Eau de Minthe does come across as fougere-esq, and with a lavender note would be a full-blown mint-forward Aromatic Fougere. The low Fragrantica score for this is inexcusable.

I recently reviewed this on my blog. One of my readers was asking me some things about it based on reviews here, so I came to check out what was being said about it. I am completely shocked. I know fragrances are subjective and I respect that, but these reviews have blown my mind. It seems to be another case of hive mind on Fragrantica. This fragrance is not cheap and synthetic smelling. You can really tell the quality of ingredients that are being used in this one. This is a very realistic smelling fragrance. The opening is slightly reminiscent of Azzaro Pour Homme. That is where the similarity ends. Eau de Minthe takes its own path with a bracing peppermint and clean rose. Those are bolstered by geranium, which is clean and softly spicy, but it also has a minty edge to it which contributes to the intent of the perfume. The nutmeg is very soft in this one.This is not a very spicy fragrance. The dry down is clean patchouli. It's not earthy at all. Patchouli is also part of the mint family and probably helps the other notes along as well. The peppermint is still in the background, but it's soft with the rose and geranium being the main players on a bed of patchouli. This fragrance is a very modern fougere. Yes, it still leans a bit mature. It's not classic or dated smelling at all. Oh well, if people don't like it...then that means I will be one of the only ones wearing it. It makes it more unique :D This is a top 5 fragrance for me. Also, this is an 8-9 hour fragrance on me. I would encourage you to find a sample or decant before trusting Fragrantica on this one(including my own opinion). I would not suggest blind buying it. I was gallivanting around Paris the other day. I passed by Jovoy and was left uninspired by the fragrances there (they have a great selection it was just me that was uninspired). So, the missus and I headed around the corner and landed right in front of the Dyptique shop. I was well received by the sales associate and given a barrage of samples. Eau de Minthé stuck out for me (I have a few Dyptiques and I wanted something minty and clean for the remaining warm days here in France). This fragrance is the style I like the most; fougere. Oh, this kicks off earthy and spicy and of course minty. I love the opening but the middle notes are where this fragrance reveals its secrets. Nutmeg, geranium and a well rendered rose take this scent from just another beautifully crafted naturally smelling Dyptique fragrance to an honest barbershop green scent that we all have smelt on someone we respected (dads and grandfathers). This is not to say it smells dated. it is very much a lively scent but it definitely leans to something classic but can be pulled off by someone in their late twenties to early thirties. Eau de Minthé is perfect for spring and summer but could easily be a year round fragrance but it is not too loud and definitely needs a higher temperature to help its notes sing. Props to Dyptique for taming the patchouli in this fragrance and not allowing it to eat up the geranium and rose notes in this composition. Think oxford or gingham shirts and a pair of jeans when wearing this. Give Eau de Minthé a few sprays when a stroll on the town is on the agenda and stopping at one or two cafes/brasseries while getting "lost" is the goal.

eau de mithe isn't too minty, but it has a certain freshness to it. my father used to be a flight engineer, and whenever he came back from his long travels, he would bring many gifts and some magno soap bottles which he bought from the airport duty-free, a brand you couldn't find in our country. this smells exactly like that soap, mixed with expensive after-shave and that clean, crisp, fancy suit perfume. it's an easy, professional smell, masculine and serious yet fresh and delicate, perfectly balanced, never too-heavy nor excessively airy. i have a bottle of this at home just for the ocassions in which my boyfriend stays over and takes a shower, because it's just so easy to love for such a wide range of ages, from young boys to older men. a bit linear and plain, definitely not innovative or experimental, but i can't help but love it. it's a classic, and it's beautifully done. i haven't found a smell i love from diptyque for myself yet, but this is delightful on any man. it definitely leans masculine (in the more "classical" scent profile scale, but girls, wear whatever you want!), and it's beautiful for any season (plus, it has a nice sillage where it's noticeable only from a certain range, enough to wrap you in a faint cloud of mint, but not enough where it's too bothersome to other people). old school classic, definitely gorgeous.

Wow. This is exactly what I've been looking for. A fresh, clean, mature fragrance. I'm at the age where I need something a bit on the mature masculine side, and Eau de Minthe is perfect. I've been wearing Tom Ford Fougere d'Argent in the cooler seasons but something about it is a bit too dark for warmer weather. Eau de Minthe is a similar feel but much fresher. Longevity seems great so far. Haven't had it long enough to really get a feel for sillage. Seems like it stays close to the skin after about two hours or so. This is an instant classic for me. Edit/Update: After a few days of wearing (and loving) this, I can report that it is a very polite and intimate fragrance. Performance is a little underwhelming as far as longevity and sillage on skin, but I don't mind. If you want something that sort of has the DNA of an 80s/90s fougere that is not loud or in-your-face, Eau de Minthe is the one for you. Something about it reminds me of something I wore as a young man in the 90s (maybe the original Catalyst by Halston?) with higher quality ingredients. I think I will always have a bottle of this at my disposal.

This is a classic Fougère fragrance that will please people who, like me, enjoy that genre of fragrances. I don’t get the comparison to Drakkar, but it does remind me of a nicer version of At the Barber’s. If you like Fougere scents, you’ll like this one. It isn’t groundbreaking but it is very nice and very wearable. Like a lot of EDP’s it has light projection and solid longevity. If you are looking for a super minty fragrance, this isn’t it. The mint fades after the first few minutes and is more herbal than toothpaste. I really enjoy this fragrance. It is classic, masculine and suitable for pretty much year round wear. My wife smelled it on me today and told me I smell great. I think this will be a hit for Diptyque since it is the most classically masculine of their fragrances, at least in my opinion. Don’t make your opinion by testing on paper! It smells completely different on skin. Also, give it some time to dry down since it settles in after about 30 min. I don’t get the hate on this one, and it reminded me to make sure I test for myself rather than going strictly by the reviews here.

i can tell this one has similarity to drakkar noir but let's say, eau de minthe is drakkar noir's son. it is a modern version barbershop fragrance. these both are not absolutely identical, don't worry. it's earthy, green, minty, somehow it has a cooling touch. feels like you're so fresh, out of shower. very masculine, i'm a woman but i enjoy this one so much that i have a full bottle version. my mom likes this (she's so picky when it comes to fragrance but she loves this one). while on the other hand, my gf doesn't like this hero (she's working in fragrance and beauty industry, it's hard to get her compliment LOL). but who cares, i love this one! no issues with the SPL, it's amazing. not the typical haha heehee minty, i get it when someone mentioned that this is not as minty as they expected from its name. this one has more depth from the patchouli note. name me any better green fougere fragrance other than this

New Update: After getting another 20 new frags over the last weeks, this is still one of my favourites. What a classic! Both warm, unique, masculine, potent. Hard for me not to reach for it! Update a few months in: I have gotten to love this scent event more. it is so smooth, deep, strong and soothing at the same time The mint note is an amazing back support for the scent. It is one of my top original fougeres with Bracken Man and Le Galion's Special for Gentleman. Got it today and love it at first wear! Wow! If you don t like mint based fragances, don t let that stop you. It is in the background but so very well balanced and composed with the other ingredients. Update: second wear and i really love it! I love fougere and it is a very good one! Additionally, the deep minty twist is super original and really make this scent stand out.

I am wearing Eau de Minthe for the third or fourth time, and now I can appreciate its beauty. Firstly, I was testing it among Fougere Royal, Masculin Pluriel and At The Barber's, and Eau de Minthe seemed boring, one dimensional in this ligue. I said ok, its very natural mint, but nothing more. After a while, I gave it another chance in warmer weather and it opened up on my skin. It turned into a refined, manly rose and geranium with some edgy, cool bitterness. Despite its fresh style, I can see this working well in a dressed-up, night-out environment. It has that hint of elegance. All in one its one of the best fougeres in my opinion. It has relatively high price tag, which is not for the performance or projection I think, but for the refinement and naturality.

I don't care what the haters say, I LOVE this! The longevity is great and I enjoy this more and more as the hours go on, every now and then I get a beautiful rosey herbaceous wave. Yes it has a retro aftershave thing going but I don't think that's a bad thing. I enjoy this on myself as a woman and I would loooove to smell this on a man. This is unisex but it is not for women who don't like a masculine scent. I love a good rose and patchouli combo, Eau Capitale is my signature and I find this rose and patchouli with mint to be gorgeous. I just love this in the summer. Wins hands down when you compare it to the rulers of the 80's. This is more refined and a solid fragrance. Unisex but definitely leans more masculine, if you like fresh, spicy and just the most devine Mint and Rose. I get 12+ hours out of the magnificent peace of art, really fresh from the get go and develops in the most devine barbershop style fragrance. High heat suits the beaut perfectly, cuts right through 37°C. Performs really well, any occasion, compliment magnet and worth every penny. Heads up, this is more for the 30's and older, here is no sugar at all... Sorry 🤣 ✌️

I've sampled a heap of fragrances with mint notes over the last month and this one comes out on top. Strong mint (Goldilocks range - not too sweet and not too herby) on opening which slowly fades and balances with florals after about 30 minutes. If you're looking for a strictly herbal mint fragrance Etat might be a better choice, however I'd recommend sampling this for comparison. Now when i compare the two, Etat is far too in your face and herby. It's disappointing this one isn't rated higher, as it is likely to be overlooked. Underrated gem that I'll be adding to my collection in the near future.

It's been many months since I first tried this and wasn't all that intrigued by it. Tried it again a few days ago and fell in love. If you like fresh, clean scents with an uplifting minty twist, I highly recommend. The mint gradually shifts into the background but there's still a slight sense of it. Becomes a skin scent on me within an hour or so, so staying power is lacking, but I think this is beautiful and refreshing! Someone mentioned a similarity to Irish Spring soap and yep, I'd say it's somewhat similar (and I like I.S.) but this fragrance is multi-faceted and not quite loud as I.S.

WOW! I am so impressed with this. Not what I was expecting at all! If you’re looking for a strong mint, this is not it. This is a very well balanced fougere! Literally fern. The way the mint, geranium, and patchouli work together creates the perfect fresh/clean fragrance. The nutmeg and rose are there for cohesiveness, but they don’t make themselves known. The longevity on this one, for both my husband and I, is about 12 hours. Nice sillage. Not loud on projection. This really is a quality, well blended fragrance! Well done Diptyque!

I loved this perfume but I ultimately sold my bottle. It's heavily leaning masculine for me. It's fresh, slightly spicy, very beautiful and gorgeous. Definitely a summer fragrance with some heavy intense notes. Mint is blended very beautifully and is a dark mint. This mint does not remind me of the gum mint that's usually too acidic. I agree that the projection is direct and is not too strong. It's a simple fragrance that in my opinion is beautiful but is just not necessarily unique.

Ummm! This indeed smells great! Its refreshing and uplifting. Suitable for hot and humid weather where I am staying. What attracted me are the two notes in this beautifully made perfume - mint and geranium. These two really worked well together. If you are a fan of mint perfume, this is a must have in your collection. 3 sprits are all you need and the scent can last for a long while..... After I finish this 10ml decant, I am seriously considering acquiring a full bottle.

Smells like a luxurious spa. IMO there is no better fragrance out there to feel clean after a shower just before going to sleep and spraying this on. It’s not a super complex fragrance but it’s one that you wear to feel clean, at peace and serenity. It’s a super clean but not cloying mint fragrance, if I had money to waste I’d buy this but for full bottle price it is most definitely not worth it but for smell and feel alone it get a 8.7/10 would buy (at a discount)!

I wore it the other day and although the initial spritz is muddled, the dry down is gorgeous and long lasting. The smell is unmistakably green, with a generic “cologne” scent that stratifies into herbal and aromatic notes over the next few hours. I sprayed it on a warm Sunday morning and even after a busy day I could still smell it on my wrist at night. I would definitely recommend this scent for a test run especially due to how it evolves throughout the day.

I could swim in a pool of this thing. Drakkar is a tad bit sweeter and floral while Eau de Minthe seems like a refined perfected take (I love both and I think Drakkar Noir is underrated). I get the similarities but man, this thing is gorgeous. If you're a fan of fougères you MUST try it. Diptyque is like Jo Malone, it's almost impossible for one to dislike any of their fragrances. Easy blind buy if you like fougeres, too bad it's hard to get from discounters.

I wasn’t crazy about this at first because it did remind me of Drakkar and the opening seemed like a typical fougere. But after wearing it all day the drydown really grew on me. Although it does have a slight Drakkar vibe it becomes beautiful after a few hours as the patchouli and mint develop nicely with the florals. It becomes a bit soft and dusty and maybe a little soapy. Imagine it as a high end, more refined Drakkar. This stuff is nice!

A beautiful creation. Mint, geranium, musk, moss, and patchouli. I detect the rose also, but here it is superbly blended, that it feels like geranium petals. Dry down is very similar to Durance Minthe, and it has strong similarities to Geranium Monsieur, but this is far better. This might be the finest mint I've tried so far, and it comes with a price. Lasting power could be better, but then again, we're dealing with a fougere here.

Such a beautiful scent. The combination of Rose, geranium, and mint is absolutely amazing! Can't stop smelling it on myself, and find it to be quite unique, and one of the best fougeres on the market. Please do not listen to this nonsense about this perfume smelling like a shaving cream. It does not! This will definitely be my signature scent for spring, summer, and fall. My 3 P's - Projection 7/10 - Performance 7/10 - Price 7/10

Give a chance to this perfume. It's very nice once you use your imagination. I use this perfume like a base for others fragrances. This touch of mint is very beautiful mixed even with oriental fragrances... it makes every oriental fragrance very easy to wear in the summer. Play with this Eau de Minthe, mixed it with your favorite fragrance and you'll be surpriseed! Peace and love from Romania! <3

This fragrance is one of the cleanest fragrances I have ever smelled. The mint actually dies down and the dry down is just purely clean smelling. This is a scent that will annoy no one, headache free. It’s beautiful. After owning it for two months: Just truly a beautiful clean scent that smells so pure. It’s the purity of the frag that attracts people to it. Lots of compliments. Not offensive.

If you love old school green barbershop fragrances from the 80s, you'll love this. If you don't, you won't. I happen to think this style of cologne is due for a comeback. I don't mind the current trend of sweet white florals but sometimes I just want to smell like a man - and this is pure testosterone. Dad vibes all the way. Either that's your thing or it isn't.

A wonderful take on vintage Drakkar, but with the addition of a cool mint. My wife loves it on me. This was a surprise as it was a blind buy. This is for confident older men who don’t mind being noticed in good or bad ways. I can see younger people hating this fragrance. I’m 48. It’s suits me well. One of my current favorites.

This isn't getting much love, is it? Personally I really liked it from the very start. toothpaste? Shaving Cream? I find this quite lovely. It's very fresh and has a LOAD of mint, that's for sure. It's a super summery fougere, I'd classify this as unisex and would't esitate to wear it. Only issue I have is longevity....

This is like the golden ideal of a barbershop fragrance. I absolutely love it, but I couldn't possibly bear to wear it more than occasionally. Perhaps it would be nicer to be in love with someone who wears it. Someone I loved very much a long time ago wore Drakkar Noir, and there is a similar vibe here.

The opening is a rush of cool mint followed by the warmth and juiciness of rose and patchouli. It's a new take on barber shop fragrances. Smells very natural and is extremely easy to like. Definitely would recommend for the spring and summer, not many people wear this scent so you'll stand out for sure.

Just a lovely mint-geranium herbaceous freshness that smells like someone hopped out of the shower. It's not original but the quality of ingredients here is undeniable. Longevity on me was great (about 5-6 hours) and I still smell it on my arm 12 hours later! Lots of nutmeg for me in the late dry down.

By itself, it is not ground breaking or standoutish. In my opinion, this fragrance really shines by layering with fruity scents. My favorite combo is Mandrino Di Amalfi by TF. The added mint brings a whole new level to the game. This is a must have for layering if that’s your style.

Beautiful, manly creation. I wouldn’t call that unisex. Sampled it in the morning, had to go back for a whole bottle in the afternoon. Imagine the best smelling shaving foam you have ever tried...boom...there your are. Found my new bestie.

Such an easy reach in my collection. Not your usual Diptyque, but I think that’s what draws me in. Especially refreshing in the summertime post shower. My only complaint is that the price is a little hard to justify.

A very lovely fougere perfume I never expected from Diptyque. The beautiful minty opening was unfortunately too short. The rest of the perfume is lovely BUT not anything new or outstanding, another unfortunate fact.

My all-time favourite fragrance for a man. It's beautifully and unfortunately very masculine, so I can't wear it myself. Perhaps the only reason to have a man around is so that he can wear this fragrance :D

Mi mostly get mint an geranium, but likkle bit a nutmeg too, maybe. It like a interesting modern Drakkar Noir, yuh know? Mi love dis an Drakkar Noir same way.

Scent: High quality shaving foam-ish + fougere aroma. Clean, masculine, fresh but not aquatic/citrus fresh type. Yes it reminds me of Drakkar Noir but let's be honest that stuff is still out there for reasons. This one is way more refine and modern. It may not be very standing out and "special" but certainly not a bad smelling fragrance. Occasion: I bought Eau De Minthe as a work fragrance as I work as a golf teaching pro in Thailand, which means I have to work in hot, humid and sweaty situation with many times of getting close to students. I need a fragrance that makes both me, my students and my colleagues feels "clean and fresh" and this one ticks all the boxes. Inoffensive, not too fancy but not boring, have enough character for me to pull off and not giving headache. Plus, I went to tried lots of fragrances with my friend and this is the only one fragrance that she immediately point at my face and said "This is YOUR fragrance! It's so you. It's what you should smell like!" Mood: It's like you've just went to the barbershop, got a proper haircut and shaving and ready to rock the day. When I smell it on myself I feel "well groomed" and have confidence to start my work. My colleagues don't go crazy and love it but they never say anything bad about it as well. Work fragrance should be safe, and this is another great safe clean scent, at least from what I think, feel and experienced. Performance: Moderate. I get around 4 hours max as I work outdoors and in hot weather it fades faster than sitting in the air-con room for sure (which should give more 2-3 hours). That's not my problem I just take a small atomiser and respray during the day and good to go.

I don't get the Drakkar Noir comparison at all. But then again lately I'm just not getting the common comparisons people are making about fragrances, so take that with a grain of salt. What I do get is a very dusky mint and nutmeg accord in the top notes of this eau de cologne-styled composition, which hangs around for at least fifteen or twenty minutes. The mint is more "menthol" aftershave in feel, and the nutmeg provides a fairly austere stark contrast that levels the herbal brightness. Roughly five to ten minutes after application, the geranium note is pretty clearly in the mix also, with its bitter-green coolness. As time passes this slightly disjointed top accord transitions into a brighter, more congruently green and fresh base of crisp grassy patchouli, with a touch of clean soapy musk and a slightly floral minty effect rounding it all out. This hangs around for another hour or so before fading out gently. This gets mixed reviews online, and I can see why. If I had any input on the making of Eau de Minthe, I'd have suggested forgoing the nutmeg note and using a higher-fidelity mint. For comparison, Myrsol's Formula K aftershave is a far superior peppermint note, which, for the money, Diptique could have easily used in lieu of whatever is in here instead. However, the fresh and rather grassy-green drydown is pleasant, exactly the sort of accord I enjoy, and pretty well done and on par, so at least it has a happy ending. Worth it if you want that green cologne drydown, but if you're looking for the world's greatest mint, maybe not here.

I'm frustrated with this one! It's a great, fresh and modern fougere as many other reviews seem to confirm. But it has a few short comings. Unlike many, I love to see a mint note in the mix. I find it refreshing and cleansing. Diptyque have produced a lovely fragrance that upon initial application fulfils the promise, this continues for perhaps 30 minutes at best. Unfortunately the mint drastically fades around this time and is replaced or supported by what should be a string of powerful contributing essences. This is where it falls down, it just doesn't perform after this time. Yes, there is still a little mint at the front but the promised combination of geranium, rose, nutmeg and patchouli just never seems to establish itself fully. The promise is there but the delivery really isn't! It's detectable at very close quarters for another 30 minutes or so and then becomes not much more than a skin scent only, offering the occasional pop of scent over the next couple of hours before vanishing into the ether. It's a massive shame as the opening is gorgeous but the middle and base notes although very pleasant are just not there in any great amount. Disappointing. This leads me to the value, yes it's lovely for a short while but doesn't perform close to expectations for the price. I would dearly love to see a more concentrated or at least a robust reformulation to fulfil the potential promised. Still, if you like mint, delicate fragrance and don't mind reapplying often whilst at work in an office environment then this could be ideal for you.

I am currently wearing Eau de Minthe by Diptyque, and I am reading many comments stating "green fougere--barbershop" scent, but I am NOT getting a barbershop smell from the scent. When I think of a barbershop, I think of "Jaipur" by Boucheron, not this particular fragrance. Eau de Minthe is a unisex, minty, leafy, floral green scent, not a dark, forest, fougere green fragrance, and the lavender note is more of a background, supporting note. Therefore, I am not reminded of that "Jaipur", or "Brut Man" barbershop scent like I am seeing so many others state. Eau de Minthe is a great scent for the entire year. I see it as a year-round scent, especially for ppl who live in warmer, temperate places where it's not too hot or not too cold. You can dress the scent up or wear the scent casually, but I prefer casual wearing, and I also like to layer it with more woody scents like Encre Noir. I find that Eau de Minthe gives Encre Noir a bit more POP to its bitter, inky, dense, powerful, woody smell, lol. Overall, I enjoy Eau de Minthe, and I recommend it as a scent for people to try, but this is just my opinion. Do not base your opinion on me. For ANY fragrance, read reviews before buying it, but take them with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own opinion regarding smells. Some people love a specific fragrance. Some people hate it. My advice is for you to GET A SAMPLE OF ANY FRAGRANCE BEFORE YOU BUY IT. That way, you can assess it yourself and have your own thoughts rather than strictly going off someone else's thoughts and opinions.

If Drakkar Noir Fraicheur or Drakkar Noir Cologne existed...it would be Eau de Minthé . Remove that mossy, leathery, woody drydown from Drakkar and only take it's cooling fresh, sweet, minty opening...no, in fact prolong it for the entire scents life. Add some hints of rose towards drydown and a few more modern twists. And there it is - ultimate fresh, modern take on DN. I also suggest to check out "Palmolive 3 in 1 Men Sport shower gel with Mint and Cedar oil". It's basically the same scent profile. I think you would get great results using this shower gel and applying Eau de Minthé after. (Not sponsored by Palmolive). The freshess of Eau de Minthé makes you think of summer but it's fits any season and casual or office ocassion because most people will find this scent profile familiar and inoffensive. I rate this fragrance as more masculine because mint is persistent there and so engraved in my associations with men's shower gels and scents but i see why more floral rose note upon drydown can make this fragrance feel unisex to other reviewers.

Minty Aromatic Chypre. This is a classic fresh and minty aromatic aftershave/cologne scent. Fresh, clean, and masculine. The mint dominates throughout with clean and soapy support from geranium. The geranium here also has that aromatic clean feel that lavender usually has. The addition of the patchouli adds a mild touch of herbal and green nuance, similar to what oakmoss usually adds to chypres. Clean, minty, fresh, old-school, lightly-sharp, aromatic, clean, soapy, green. Eau de Minthe is likely a scent you are familiar with even if you haven't tried it before because it has been done many times already. It treads the line gracefully between being a foguere and a chypre. If you go through the "reminds me of" section, you'll see many of the listed fragrances share 3 main notes: geranium, oakmoss, and lavender. That is what it is all about.
