Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette

I loved this. This is the first dyptique i've tried directly on my skin. Before I dive in, I wanted to point out some missing notes that are listed on a few different websites (neiman marcus, dyptique): Top: pink peppercorn, juniper berry, green cardamom, elemi Heart: frankincense, calamus, black ceylon tea Base: bourbon vanilla, fernat vanilla, Haitian vetiver, cypriol Eau Duelle is conceptualized as a "duel" between vanilla and frankincense. It's inspired by olfactory travels through the Spice Route. To my nose this is beautifully illustrated as a warm and cool contrast. At first spray, a heavy hit of amber and vanilla almost turns talcy, like its powdery but also has a fresh sheen. I do get a hit of play doh but I am friends with that smell, like it's not synthetic, but feels gummy and tangible. Memory hit of a kindergarten classroom in the morning, wood tables, tea party with teddybears and play doh and fresh air. It is immediately delectable and comforting, but not too sweet and heavy. The vanilla is balanced by the sheer olibanum and ambergris, maybe the saffron (and vetiver?)... There is an air around this elemi and vanilla heart that is very transparent, uplifted by the pink peppercorn, almost aldehylic...yup its that ambergris trick again. That's at the turn of the warm to cool spice, because then I get this beautiful fresh and green bergamot, cypriol/juniper and cardamom dance that swirls together with the vanilla. Yes, this is a green vanilla. And sexy! It is not until about 30 minutes later that I get the smokey incense vibe, but I love that about Eau Duelle - it turns a vanilla into something thoroughly unisex and interesting but also takes away the rich, overbearing complexity that so many brands miss and cause headaches for the sake of what, a 15 minute hit? (looking at you, TF). The DNA of Eau Duelle is very versatile and acts as a skin scent. Like the name suggests, it's a happy medium between spicy, fresh, vanillac and musky / powdery. It does dry down into a straight-up cologne vibe, although musky, wow, with the peppercorn and olibanum and bergamot, reminds me of Eidesis from Aesop in the best way. I'm saving up for a full bottle for sure.

I have the EDT and the EDP. I have them on skin right now to compare for those that want this information. The EDT is less heavy. It’s airier and has more “old books, old library, balsam fir trees” going on. The vanilla in this is perfection. This has less lasting power but is my preferred scent between the two despite its faults. It’s possibly more feminine than the EDP because the EDP has a bourbon vanilla going on, while the toilette has a Madagascar, aged vanilla going on. I prefer the vanilla in the toilette. The winter trees are blended with the vanilla and they are the stars of the show, with the resins coming in as the background scents. It’s truly studying old books in an old library with a cup of tea at hand and candles lit on the candelabra. The EDP is denser, and the Bourbon vanilla here is more fragrant. It has the bourbon vanilla as the main star, with the resin coming in second and the winter trees as back up singers. The winter trees or Cypriol is sharper here as well. This scent is more serious. It’s sitting in a den library at home, with a finger of whiskey in front of a fire vibes. A touch more masculine to my nose than the EDT, but still unisex. I switch off which one I prefer. As of right now, the EDT is my reigning queen. I have purchased multiple bottles of both. They are truly in my top favorite fragrances of all time. These are among the most comforting scents I have put my nose on. I’m still as obsessed as I was the first time I smelled the EDT. The only pain about these is that a) no one else can smell them, I’ve never gotten a compliment because they’re so faint and b) they don’t last very long- 2 hours with regular spraying. With this knowledge, I tend to overspray the heck out of these, which sucks because they aren’t cheap. But still, I love them. My perfect scents 💕

Comparing this side by side with Eau Duelle EDP. EDP: Heavy punch of aromatics, its dustier & more forest-y / pine heavy. The dusty smell isnt a negative, its part of what makes this scent magical. Its got a dense incensey smell, like walking through a dark thick forest. Woody, smoky. EDT: First spray, much less aromatic than the EDP. Softer, rounder. Very light. Fairy in the woods vibe. Smoky, dusty, woody but dialed down. Middle notes EDP: leans more into the cypress. Very captivating, aromatic & strong, smoky. EDT: vanilla kicks in, becomes sweeter, almost a touch bubblegummy. Still has much lighter forest / pine notes with that "dusty" Eau Duelle DNA. Base notes EDP: Melds into this gorgeous vanilla, cypress & incense base. Really strong. To me, just very calming & captivating scent. Powerhouse forest vanilla. My favorite scent EVER for the cold months. EDT: My husband prefers this one, he likes the sweetness of the vanilla here more. To me, its just too light compared to the EDP. I like my fragrances to lean beast mode, EDT would be best if youre constrained by workplace fragrance rules or prefer skin scents! I think both are redundant to own in your collection as they are VERY similar - one is more aromatic & beastly (EDP) and the other is just lighter, leaning slightly more into the vanillic base (EDT). Its really the same scent just cranked up or down. That Eau Duelle DNA is dry, dusty, powdery but in the best way. Its just one of those scents you HAVE to try yourself. Its so unique. Never smelled something similar to this. I will always have this in my collection.

I know these notes aren't listed, but I'm getting this sweet, powdery, tobacco and sandalwood accord from this fragrance. The vanilla in here is nice and fluffy, and not overpowering, so the other notes can stand out. After looking at the notes, I think what reminds me of tobacco in here is the saffron note. Upon first glance, I assumed that this would be a fresh fragrance, but I was wrong. This is definitely more suitable for the colder weather. It's sophisticated, put together, and it draws you in. It smells like walking around in a turtleneck + trenchcoat (or other long jacket) in the winter while gentle snow falls from the sky. The saffron note is the most prominent note for the span of this fragrance, and I love it. Deep, woody, an invigorating. I think the ambergris helps to keep it dark and smooth. Lovely and spicy. Performance is alright. Projection is meh. Longevity is average. This is unisex, but definitely leans masculine for me. Smells dark and entrancing. Would I recommend giving this a try? Definitely. Is it worth the price? Honestly, nah. I usually say no when a fragrance is over 100 bucks, because there's usually a clone house that'll just dupe it eventually. But this is a fantastic fragrance. Overall rating: 8.7/10. This is a special occasions fragrance, or one that you wear once in a while. Its a special scent, definitely not suitable for everyday use.

An ode to one of my favourite perfumes: Eau Duelle EDT was love at first sniff! I'm someone who really loves vanilla, but I've always wanted a more true, pure vanilla. I don't always want something heavy or syrupy sweet. Well I was blown away when I first tried Eau Duelle. I had never smelled a fresh aromatic vanilla before, and it rocked my world! I've been in love with it ever since. I would describe Eau Duelle as a cold, spicy, aromatic vanilla. If I were to attribute a colour to it, it would be teal. I can't stop picturing the colour green while I wear this. It's so well-blended, it just feels natural and organic. This is high class, in my opinion. Subtle but sophisticated. It keeps an intimate scent bubble, which is to be expected of this type of scent. As my bottle has matured, its longevity and performance has improved, and I can even smell the scent on my clothes at night, after spraying in the morning. What more can I say? I love Eau Duelle, I think it's masterfully crafted. It always makes me feel calm and grounded, and I reach for it a lot. It's extremely versatile and fits most occasions, other than formal events where you would typically want to make a bold statement. Eau Duelle's beauty is in its refinement. If you get it, you get it. I once heard Eau Duelle described as a perfume for "cool people" and I fully concur!

So I got a sample of this and my first thought was, "Huh? Why does everyone love this so much?" I really didn't get it. There was nothing offensive about it per se, but nothing about it grabbed my attention either. Just wood resin and unsweet vanilla. Um, okay? I quickly tossed it back into the pile without a second thought. But I don't give up that easily so I kept trying. The first thing I noticed was that the drydown smells AMAZING. I started craving it. I started wearing it more often and liking it more and more each time and eventually I realized... oops I'm in love. It smells like a snowy pine/fir forest on a cold winter's day. There's something slightly melancholic about it. Kinda reminds me of my dad (rip). The vanilla here is so cozy and comforting and SO addicting, but not too sweet. I'm not a big vanilla person but this has piqued my interest and now I really want to explore more non-gourmand vanillas. I want to categorize this as a fall/winter fragrance but it's honestly light enough to be used all year round, except for the hottest summer days. This thing has me in a chokehold and I want all my clothes and my entire life to smell like this. A+ must buy full bottle immediately.

This is a very mature, resinous vanilla fragrance that smells herbaceous and woody while maintaining the true vanilla profile. I would like to describe this fragrance as more melancholic and thoughtful, definitely for the introverts who want a vanilla profile. In the opening, you mostly just get a woody vanilla but as it dries down you get an herbaceous pine note, probably from the juniper that makes it smell just like a woody forest. It's good to note that the juniper isn't a juicy juniper berry, but more so the needles of a juniper tree. When it fully settles on the skin, the vanilla comes back as the main profile but you can smell the resin and woodiness. It transports you right to smelling fresh vanilla in the midst of a woody forest. While this is a beautiful unisex fragrance, the longevity and sillage is extremely weak, which to my judgement, makes it feel very overpriced as it is a niche luxury item. If you're good with a mature woody vanilla skin scent, then I think it would be safe to blind buy, but if you're looking for something that projects and lasts, you might want to sample before buying. Overall, one of my most mature vanillas that I absolutely adore!

As someone who does not search for vanilla scents - wow. to me, most vanilla scents are incredibly generic, most of all of them smell sickeningly sweet, too strong and way too artificial. That is not the case at all here You initially meet the green earthy notes (cardamom, pink pepper bergamont etc...) during the opening - the first minute or two after the spritz. Once the dry down begins it transforms into the most polite little vanilla scent. the sweet aspect of this fragrance is so beautifully composed, Its a bourbon-y vanilla with some herbal tea like notes in there. I dont know if i stand alone in this but i smell bits of marshmallow as well. My only semi complaint is i wish this lasted longer on my skin, its longevity is not very strong. (Back to the notes because im obsessed lol) Its the perfect amount of sweet, not overbearing by any means, this fragrance comes together in such a girlie yet sophisticated way. If i could describe this scent its silky, airy and complex. probably my favorite diptyque scent thus far, Will likely buy a full bottle ! Even if its a sampler bottle, I urge whoever is on the fence to give this gorgeous scent your time!

As a former diptyque employee, I must confess that their scents are not for me. I can totally appreciate the artistry and timelessness of the fragrances, but would never really buy them of my own volition...with the exception of Eau Duelle. I am a die hard gourmand scent wearer. Since diptyque fragrances are largely derived from natural essences, foody scents are out of the question. Duelle is the closest they do to a gourmand scent and it is absolutely divine. This is vanilla, all grown up. The bitter burst of black tea and juniper keeps the fragrance's opening lively and interesting. The cardamom and saffron elements are completely unique IMO and not something everyone's nose can detect; very subtle and warm. Overall, the scent fades to a delicate incense, which reminds me of Indian holidays at home with my family. This EDT is incredibly sophisticated and since the vanilla in question is bourbon vanilla, it does not err on the side of BBW or anything generic. I would never relegate this perfume to a season. It is always perfect to me and blends beautifully with other diptyque scents. A must for vanilla-lovers everywhere.

a dry forest floor in the san bernardino national forest, late august or early september. sitting under a california pepper tree or an ivy-covered wall between university classes in santa barbara, writing in my journal, gray pencil lead on fresh white paper. a perfume for the gin and tonic drinkers. pink peppercorn and juniper are the dominant notes upon spraying, the vanilla itself is quite creamy and sweet, but it lies closer to the skin--all that's left at the end of the day is a gorgeously understated cup of milk tea. eau duelle is resinous and light. green-spicy but darling and not masculine. intellectual and fresh. the light academia perfume of my dreams. it has great longevity, but doesn't project much. an "aura" more than an in-your-face perfume. i love to wear this to bed. i love to wear this in central park in late spring and just read my book in the grass, feeling like the prettiest, most illusively blaisé girl in the world. i prefer something warmer in the winter, but all other seasons this is my signature scent. love love love.

Storytime: I once walked into a niche shop and requested two kinds of fragrance - one very piney and forresty and one warm and cuddly for the cold days. The sales person offered me some blah choices (apart from unwearable masterpiece CdG Hinoki) and we parted ways. But this is both of those requests combined. The main stars here are super piney juniper and amazing cozy, cashmere-sweater cuddly vanilla + amber. (It's all I ever wanted from Byredo Gypsy Water) In the background there is cardamom and pink pepper. Love this stuff, it is the right amount of sweet and sexy for a grown up fragrance. My favourite for winter time. Even though I adore them both, I recommend this over the EdP, that one is rounder and warmer, but the juniper is less prominent, while cardamom is more pronounced in that one. ETA: Wearing this for 3 months straight now. I get complimented regularly, was informed that it fills the whole room and it projects quite far, even 6+ hours after initial application, when I cannot smell it whatsoever.

This is absolutely beautiful. If you love Babycat, Rifaqaat, Nayel Queen, or anything with that aromatic vanilla DNA, you're going to fall head over heels for this. To my nose, this feels like the elevated version of that profile... the smoother, better blended, more refined take on the DNA. It has that addictive mix of smoky woods, airy spices, and creamy vanilla that somehow manages to feel both cozy and sexy at the same time. Everything feels perfectly balanced. Nothing screams for attention, yet everything works together to create something incredibly intoxicating. It wraps around you like a cashmere sweater infused with warm vanilla and soft incense. If you already enjoy the Babycat family of fragrances, this will feel familiar, but elevated. Less sharp edges, more polish. Less noise, more luxury. I simply cannot stop smelling my wrist when I wear this. It's one of those fragrances that quietly pulls you in over and over again until you're completely obsessed.

I ADORE IT ❤️ This is a fresh and lightly spicy vanilla scent that can be worn in all four seasons. It has an aromatic green facet, which I think makes it wearable even in the summer. It’s both masculine and feminine—a type of fragrance you’re not really used to smelling on a woman. I don’t think it resembles any other perfume, yet it also has a familiar and warm feel. After I got it, I kept reaching for it—it became a fragrance I found very easy to wear. I especially love pairing it with my French girl outfits: trousers, a shirt, and stilettos. It’s intellectual, slightly bohemian, and creates an aura that’s different from everyone around. And this is also an office-friendly perfume. It lets you smell lovely without ever bothering anyone around you. If you’re looking for a fragrance with a strong projection, this might not be the right fit for you. But maybe that’s just because it’s the EDT version.

I fell in love at first sniff and added it to my wish list right away. I'm so happy to have a full bottle now! I am very scared of vanilla-dominant perfumes since they get extremely sweet on my skin and give me a headache/nausea. That is not the case with Eau Duelle EDT. Even the EDP of this is too sweet for me, but the EDT is a perfectly light, delicious, and mature vanilla. The spices are perfect, giving the vanilla a bit of a spiced cookie vibe on my skin--think gingerbread or biscoff. In terms of wear, I find it lasts for most of the day in the office, which is very impressive for an EDT. I can wear it without worrying about it fading while also not worrying about it overwhelming my co-workers. Later in the day it is more of a basic vanilla, but still not too sweet for me. Lovely for a winter day outing, grabbing a coffee, or staying at home snowed in! Comforting, meditative, and warm.

by far my quickest and most impulsive buy, and i don't regret it for a second. my first frag purchase in france, so it will always remind me of my time there. the opening is dry, a little dusty, and peppery, but the star is a stunningly realistic juniper note. it dries down to a green and spicy resinous vanilla that reminds me of tree sap, and the sweet scent that plywood has when it's warmed by the sun. like many other reviewers mentioned, this is THE forest fairy/ wood elf scent. often complimented despite its intimate projection, it is definitely not for those who prefer beast mode scents. in my opinion, it is completely unisex. i love this fragrance so much, i think it's so unique and gorgeous!! EDIT: wearing this in the dry canadian autumn (vs. humid french spring) has transformed this. It has taken on a shockingly gourmand edge. black tea with vanilla biscuits. i still love it

Eau Duelle kicks off with a brisk burst of cardamom, cool and a touch peppery, followed quickly by a clean, resinous woodiness. To me it smells like polished, dry cedar (even if it isn’t on the note list) mixed with a lift of cypress, like a forest breeze slipping through the branches and catching a stray ray of sun. The vanilla here is mercifully free of patisserie overkill. It’s green, vegetal, a fine powder like icing sugar without the sweetness, carried by that resinous freshness until the two seem to breathe as one. Longevity isn’t huge: maybe six hours with a generous spray on clothes. For anyone who can’t stand gourmand vanillas, this feels like a rare reprieve: aromatic, woody, airy, luminous, discreet. If you like the clean bohemian air of Gypsy Water, Eau Duelle EDT could be its vanilla-leaning cousin.

This is the fairy queen of all perfume. An elegant sweet vanilla, like the frosting of a cupcake that is mixed with resin and juniper. That is like a mystical fairy tea party. It's so addictive and rich. I mean rich rich like you have a mansion in the woods worth millions. Don't mind me I'm just imagining the vibe of this. This is definitely a Scandinavian, business woman in her thirties (again don't ask me why, but every time I visit any country up there everybody smells like pinecones and mysterious forest herbs), slick back, golden earrings, linen clothes. Ethereal and elevated. For anyone relatively new to the perfume world this perfume will definitely shift your attention to more sophisticated scents and everything else will seem flat and dull in comparison.

I looove this beautiful sexy intimate scent. It is exactly what I smell when I picture intimacy and sweet love and embraces. I know everybody says this is a winter fragrance but I don't get that at alll. For me this is exactly what I would wear in Italy on vacation to go to dinner at a beautiful restaurant, sitting outside on the terrace. Like it's such a beautiful nightime scent that I think goes so well with a slightly cool breeze and intimate surroundings. The perfect date night scent. My boyfriend thinks it smells really sexy as well. I also love that the vanilla here comes through very sharp and clear, not like most vanilla fragrances that are overly sweet or overpowering with other notes. This one just smells exactly like pink pepper and vanilla.

This is a pleasant surprise! I usually don’t like strong vanilla, gourmands and sweet scents, so when I received a free sample of Eau Duelle EDT, I just put it in the back of the drawer and moved on with my life. One day I was cleaning my perfume drawer to get rid of some scents that I never reach for, and I decided to give it a try before giving it away, and omg, I loved it! It’s spicy, powdery, musky and comfortable without being sweet, boring, or juvenile. It has a beautiful velvet and suede-like texture. It’s airy and smoky at the same time. For me it’s a cross-over between bdk creme de cuir without the citrus notes and ysl babycat without the amber note. This is really good! It’s love at first sniff ❤️

i am a lover of all things vanilla and warm / sugary smelling. this has to be one of my most favorite vanilla perfume i own thus far and i truly don’t think anything else will top it. it comes off very woody / spicy / balsamic at first but when it settles the vanilla really comes through and creates such a pretty symphony of flavors !! it’s so sophisticated, elegant and delicious i ADORE the way it settles in the skin and lasts throughout the day. it’s a very refreshing and beautiful take on vanilla that i haven’t seen any other perfume houses master. love love love !! i also love layering it with the matcha 26 by le labo to lean into the woodyness or philosykos by diptyque to add a fruitiness to her <333

I made the mistake recently after testing the EDT version of buying the EDP, and they're very different perfumes in style. The EDP has much more emphasis on the vanilla, it's deeper, and is mainly a vanilla for the winter season. The EDT has a lighter and airier vanilla note, and the green notes such as the juniper and the tea are much stronger, especially in its initial top notes phase. This is a vanilla perfume that could be worn in spring and summer. Somehow you don't feel like you're drowning in thick cake batter vanilla as you do in so many others. I think the EDT, although slightly less expensive, is the superior scent. Just be aware of the difference!

This is a gorgeous fragrance. If you like vanilla but are not a gourmand lover, this is for you. It’s a little spicy and woody at the beginning, but warm and cozy. Has a soft and comforting feeling for sure, warm and fuzzy without being cloying or juvenile. It’s an adult vanilla scent. I just have a small decant but plan of buying the full size asap, because I could wear this every single day. I can’t imagine who wouldn’t like this, unless you despise any kind of warm or “sweet” scent. It also has great longevity, I sprayed 2 tiny spritzes on myself this morning and it’s lasted for hours and my shirt still has a decent scent.

This is so ethereal to me. I absolutely love this scent. It opens with this fresh aromatic spiciness that I adore, then moves toward a smell that, to me, is very reminiscent of some markets I’ve been to as a child. It’s like this warm, tar-like scent that I’m guessing comes from the elemi resin, mixing with the juniper and cardamom. If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, don’t get too discouraged, because this almost tar-like scent is rounded out by this gorgeous vanilla, making it extremely wearable. It’s what I imagine a medieval princess would smell like. Absolutely stunning, it’s turned into my signature scent!

Light, airy, and woody vanilla! It definitely lays a lot closer to your skin, giving it a muskier quality that I find extremely comforting. On skin, I think the wear is nice, but on hair and clothes I find it really sticks around for some time! The dry down leaves a very soft and sweet vanilla-extract adjacent scent. It's quite beautiful and elegant. I prefer this slightly more than the EDP, which to me is a lot more peppery and smokey. I heavily recommend sampling and wearing before committing, as I feel there is a lot of variation of how people interpret the edt and the edp (they smell pretty different!).

i love eau duelle. it is the perfect vanilla without any sugary or pastry notes. unfortunately, it does not project well, and its longevity is nonexistent. for this price and brand, it should stay on the skin for at least three to four hours, but it does not. the dry down is very similar to angélique noire, which is really expensive but at least stays all day on the skin with average projection. eau duelle is a safe blind buy for non-gourmand vanilla lovers. i do love eau duelle, but i will not consider it for repurchase as it fades in one hour.

It took a me a while but this has become my absolute favorite. I actually bought it second hand without expecting much. There is something soothing/grounding yet refreshing at the same time. It's the perfect mix that seems to suit my mood almost any day or night. I have been wondering will it outgrow as the season comes warmer but maybe not. I think it has potential to be calling to me even in the summer time. So far this is closest being my signature scent! But I am curious to explore other green vanillas out there!

I so love this! The opening is very reminiscent of gin tonic, but as the vanilla comes forward, this impression fades. I mostly get juniper and resinous vanilla, that is present throughout. Perfectly balanced freshness and warmth, though it gets warmer towards the drydown. Eau Duelle very much reminds me of Byredo's Gypsy Water, but without the citrus that makes GW smells like a cleaning product. This is unique, yet universally pleasant, a combination that might turn Eau Duelle into my new signature.

If I had tried this at the start of my fragrance journey I would have put the test strip down and kept walking. I definitely had no desire for something described as a green, resinous vanilla. However, as my palette has expanded I can appreciate how beautiful this is. It is airy, delicate and natural in the best way. It evokes the image of a forest fairy skipping through frosted woods. I think it’s a great introduction into more mature vanillas if you’ve usually been into just straight gourmands.

The most jaw dropping, unique vanilla i may ever smell, nothing even comes close. She is truly one of a kind. Aromatic vanilla with hint of black pepper spice and faint incense that gives it an expensive, classy feel. It kindaaa reminds me of Babycat in a super toned down, inoffensive type of way. It is so versatile too, fall, winter, spring, day or night. Its been my signature scent for the past few years and I've loved every second!

Oh man I love this. I blind bought this bases on a recommendation from a coworker who has great taste in fragrances it’s fast becoming a regular favorite. This is not a syrupy sweet or gourmand vanilla. It’s light, aromatic and spicy with a lovely, creamy drydown. Wearing in winter and looking forward to seeing how it behaves in warmer weather. Either way this feels like this will be a permanent member of my collection from now on.

I understand. I totally understand the love for this. I want this scent to ooze from my pores. This is not the kind of scent that loses its uniqueness by being popular. That’s how special this is. Even if everyone wore it, it’d still be exquisite. I need a full bottle, a backup full bottle, a backup for the backup, and a bottle strictly to look at and never touch, to be passed down to my daughter’s daughter decades from now.

Oh, Duelle! You make me relax. I am seated in the comfiest chair at a beautiful cafe. I am drinking an unsweetened masala chai and closing my eyes. The tea and spices blend together with the cafe door opening. In comes a dash of London smoke and the tiny pine tree next to the door. Suddenly someone orders a vanilla cake. Eau Duelle smells comforting and subtle, yet it has a whole story around it, a whole city.

Aromatic & balsamic dry vanilla meets cardamom bomb. Somehow smells more like paper than L’Eau Papier itself. If Papier smells like a sketch paper to me, then Duelle smells like an old, dusty book with yellowing pages. Perfect for layering, as I found it to be too airy & hollow when used alone. IIRC the EDP version also smells as hollow as the EDT, I’ll give it another shot when I visit the store next time.

It's a top scent for me. The first time I smelled it on paper, it smelled exactly like the sugar stick that came with the fun dip that I used to love in elementary school. Upon trying it on skin, I got more of the cardamom note with the slight sweetness in the back, which became more apparent with time. If there is warm vanilla, this is a cool vanilla. It's an absolutely love and a comfort scent for me.

I could bathe in this smell. a delicious gourmand, the vanilla is beautifully tempered by the tea & spices. I wish it had more longevity, but I'm excited to try this layered over some richer spicy scents I did occasionally catch a whiff of waxy sweetness towards the beginning of wear - somewhere between candycorn & the inside of those rubbery Halloween masks - but it wasn't offputting or overwhelming

the way this smells wafting off your winter jacket in cold dry winter air is unmatched, the cold air makes this even more delicious than it already is, it was my first full bottle niche perfume and to me it somehow smells like cold air in the winter and eating a toasted marshmallow in a pine forest, it also smells so good on clothes, I love picking up a sweater and getting a whiff of this

Someone said this smells like what Link wears to meet Zelda and I wholeheartedly agree. It's got a fantasy vibe to it that feels really cozy and magical. All the notes could be heavy but they blend to be really light and comforting. I mostly smell vanilla and some spices with a little of the juniper/tea/bergamot bringing some of that freshness. It smells like a nice soft pastel green.

I love this so much that I think I need a back-up, even though I hardly ever use up full bottles. From my experience, and from the reviews, the most recent versions seem to be much lighter, but presumably the vanilla notes at least will deepen over time. Really really hope that shimmery metallic juniper's still there though. Eau Duelle edt is the only vanilla I truly gel with.

I wish I could eat this fragrance. It smells like how I imagine a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream with sticks of fresh pine needles on top would smell. But I wouldn’t consider this gourmand. I found the EDP too incense-y and masculine but this is perfect. I’m currently dealing with the loss of a loved one and this perfume feels like a hug. I find it so comforting yet fresh.

I've gone through so many samples of this and have the EDP, but every time I smell it again it feels like the first time. It's so addicting and light, what a beautiful woody vanilla. Very soft and airy. I really enjoy Angelique Noire too, although it's much greener (and it's the first time my boss has ever complimented my perfume, so it gets bonus points for that...)

aromatic vanilla emerges from behind a tree, like a dryad, approaching slowly. after a while becomes very resinous, almost oily on the skin. woody, spicy, yet delicate and slightly sweet. inviting, yet with thorn armor. visible, but doesnt have a solid form, appeals to the senses only up close. soundtrack: florence and the machine - heaven is here hozier - sunlight

this smells like when you blow out a vanilla candle and can catch a smell of the smoke along with the vanilla scent of the candle. 10/10 the smokiness settles in nicely with the sweetness of the vanilla and isnt overwhelmingly smoky or sweet at all, those two aspects compliment and balance eachother out very nicely. its not sweet at all when it dries down actually

this scent really doesn’t have much longevity so i agree with the reviews on that one. it is fabulous though if you spray it after a full body routine on top of some body oil. the initial notes really give the juniper foresty sappy scent but as it dries down the vanilla comes out to play. it gives me a sense of nostalgia. like eating ice cream in the forest.

Very good aromatic vanilla. I wear this at the end of Summer and sometimes at autumn. It’s warm and fresh and same time. Very fun and lovely. I love so much the juniper note, it’s a Little twist very elegant. This fragrance last many hours on my skin. I prefer the EDT than EDP, edt is more interesting and complexe, edp is more dark smoky for winter for me.

I wore this today after weeks of not touching it and it’s honestly the best scent in the world to me, fresh and aromatic from the juniper and very lightly sweet so apt for warm weather, and just smokey and woody enough for cool weather or nighttime. It’s so versatile and beautiful, feels like a different note comes to the surface each time I wear it.

While I regret buying this version instead of the Eau de Parfum, this one is still absolutely gorgeous. So velvety smooth with a fruity edge, yet still airy. Might be a wild comparison, but this one gives me similar vibes to Gentle Fluidity Gold by MFK, perhaps because of the blend of vanilla and juniper berry. Simple, classy and so elegant.

Love at first sniff. This smells like a green slightly herbal vanilla?? This is for the people who don’t like gourmand vanillas, so refreshing and aromatic. This is my fav fairy whimsical perfume, I imagine a little fairy dancing around in the forest. This is one of my fav scents ever. This is really suitable for warmer weather!

To me it brings to mind hiking up the mountain overlooking my hometown. The sun would warm the soft heaps of sawdust and the pyramids of Douglas Fir logs at the lumber mill, and warm dry wind would blow the scent to the cooler, shadier forests in the mountains above. A hint of smoke in the distance.

I'm halfway through my bottle and I'm just thinking about how this fragrance sometimes smells like pure vanilla, sometimes like pencil shavings and sometimes like gin. I guess it depends on the weather and mood. Anyway, to me it's one of the most beautiful fragrances, can't get enough.

Gorgeous vanilla scent, very similar to my beloved Hypnose. Eau Duelle is more spicy/aromatic and less sweet, which I would prefer if it didn't have such poor longevity. Having both seems redundant and considering the performance and price points, I will stick with Hypnose.
