Eau Moheli

I love Diptyque, the branding, the products, everything they do I am an absolute sucker for, I own various scents from this house and I like that within their impressive range of scents, there is something for everyone. I'm yet to sniff a Diptyque that I've disliked and Eau Moheli is no exception to this. From the first spray, Eau Moheli had me hooked, it is a perfect blend of freshness, greeness and lightness, yet it also contradicts all of these by being warm, balmy and slightly oily to my nose. The opening is so amazing, its like a ylang-ylang rocket thats powered by pink peppercorns; the ylang-ylang in here is still attached to the tree, so there are some noticeable green nuances while the pink pepper gives some pop and brightness, some fizz if you will. After the opening act, Eau Moheli begins to bloom, warm like the sun yet with the freshness of a sea breeze on a hot day, there is a "humid" accord in Eau Moheli, its not aquatic but it feels like when you stand near the sea on a hot day. After a good 3 hours, Eau Moheli retains its humid breeze accord but becomes quite oily yet doesn't feel cloying or thick, ginger gives some heat to the base while vetiver stops the ginger from becoming to hot, it feels like a steamy summer evening, yet at the same time its refreshing and reviving. The silage and longevity are great, I get about 6-7 hrs on my skin from 4 spritzes with a light bordering on moderate silage, its totally office safe and could work really well year round, its a * perfect * scent IMO. Eau Moheli is like the "Anti-Bronze Goddess", its summery and tropical but without the coconut/Hawaiian tropic vibes and the cloying sweetness (though, I will admit in Bronze Goddess' defence, it is very good, but when its been done bad, its pretty bad!). This along with Magnolia Nobile is how I want to smell all summer. I love it and will repurchase again and again and again.

I see people either waxing poetic for the fragrance or hating on it. It's amusing to me to see people's perception of ylang in here. I've always very much disliked most fragrances with either ylang, jasmine and/or tuberose. The tropical floral trifecta. The reason being is that none of them smells like how they actually smell. They're often too pungent and screechy. I grew up in Indonesia and my family is Javanese. In many traditional processions, including, and primarily, weddings, these florals are heavily used in so many ways. As part of decor, part of the outfit of the bride and the groom and their respective party, part of the processions, etc. I grew up with the smell of the fresh flowers (or the petals) filling up an entire room or studio. Eau de Moheli is exactly that fresh ylang smell I grew up with. And that's why I love it a lot. I find myself not seeking particular complexity of a fragrance, particularly ones to wear in warm/hot weather. This really fits the bill for me for hot weather. Something that I want to bring with me and wear for summer trips. I discovered this only last fall and was waiting for months to get it for the warm weather. It's finally here and plus, husband and I are going back to Mexico (his home country) and we're planning to rent a villa by the sea with his family (his are vaccinated and we should also get the jab this summer), so I'm definitely getting this and taking this with me.

My bias is wearing Diptyque Eau Moheli. I just have to have it. Been eyeing the brand for a while but dang... It's so expensive (being niche and all). Now I got my excuse to try it. With expectation sure, because of the price and the trust I put on my bias' judgment (Versace Dylan Blue is so pleasant, yea). This scent is so brilliant, it's gorgeous. It smells exclusive. It's not generic but also somewhat basic. I don't get this kind of scent from my other perfumes. This perfume does smell like a flower but sweeter. Somehow this scent reminds me of wedding invitation papers? The expensive ones. I think I would prefer this scent for night occasion (albeit quite nice for day time usage also). This perfume scent-wise is also in my top three, alongside Kenzo World Intense and Elie Saab Le Parfum. Because I love sweet scents (honey, vanilla, plum, woody). Sillage is moderate. Though I do hope that it could give better performance. Because the scent fades after 4 hours and Narciso Rodriguez for her could do a better job (for me). However, if you don't mind reapplying (like I usually do) then it wouldn't be a bother.

I couldn't wait to try it out! Finally got a sample and I must say it IS gorgeous. Diptyque is my favourite fragrance house - full of beautiful, natural scents. However I have to say that to me Eau Moheli is the sexiest and the most exotic scent done by Diptyque so far. It's pure expensive, exotic summer in a bottle, full of warm, sunny ylang ylang and florals balanced by sexy incense, fresh pepper and sunny benzoin. It is balmy yet still fresh. It's warm. It's sexy! Not your typical, warm exotic scent. A totally new take of ylang-ylang. What comes to mind when I smell this is a 5 star holiday in Madagascar, full of wonderful adventures in the sun. I agree with prettyswag - there is some rasta vibe to it... If I were to compare it to something I would say that this is the sexy, exotic version of Do Son. If Do Son was an elegant, spring-like, high fashion girl wearing white dresses and floral blazers, Moheli would be her fun, tan sister with curly hair who wears stunning maxi dresses.

I just blind bought a second hand bottle of Eau Moheli EDT by Diptyque on ebay. It is one of the original tall bottles, not the classic oval shape that it comes in now. Eau Moheli is not a disappointment! The opening has a strong linden blossom note with pepper, not necessarily ginger. After 30 seconds, the florals go through a menthol phase that lasts for a few of minutes on my skin. After that, the fragrance settles down into a mild ylang/linden blossom soap that has been stored next to incense. There is something about Eau Moheli that reminds me of Orpheon, which makes sense because the nose behind both fragrances was Olivier Pescheux. The notes are completely different, but I can tell that both are from the same universe. Performance on my skin is poor, 2 hours at best. I wish Eau Moheli was released in EDP concentration. It needs more of the buttery lotion feel in the base, not additional sweetness, but overall, I really like this--one of my favorite releases from the house!

OH MAN I LOVE THIS ONE i have no idea what 'yellow florals' are but this perfume is my LOVE. was looking for something for autumn a few years ago, and i was searching for something plant-ish but with some zing to it (i think i frustrated the HELL out of the salesperson at Mecca with my overwhelmingly clever vocabulary), and this is what i found! i honestly have no idea how to describe it -- to me it smells 'green' and 'spicy', but i'm not sure if those words mean to more educated folks what they mean to me. at the time, i was working in a place where i'd hug people when i arrived, and one of the comments was that i "always smelled so clean" - which i have to agree with! this perfume does have a 'clean' smell to it! but it's interesting 'clean'; a little warm -- i think that's the ginger. ylang-ylang and ginger, but green and fresh. yeah, i do NOT have the vocab for this. i love it, please try it.

What a lovely and summery fragrance! I get the fizz at the top from the pink pepper and the ginger that others on here have already talked about and I can smell a slight spiciness from the pink pepper, too. I can then mainly smell that beautiful ylang ylang note, with its banana like nuances and slightly dirty yellow floral vibes. This is mainly a yellow floral scent, but it's nice and clean and I could imagine wearing this to the beach, to the gym, to work or out on a lunch date or an early dinner date. I then get some clean smelling vetiver in the drydown, but I feel this is just enough to make the fragrance last and not overwhelm that lovely ylang ylang note. This lasts close to 5 hours on me and gives me moderate sillage. It definitely leans feminine and I don't find it overwhelming at all. It would be the perfect perfume to bring along for a fun tropical vacation!

As someone said here already, Olivier Pescheux is one of my favourite perfumers for Diptyque, so I knew I would love it! I'm sampling a new fragrance for my wedding day, I want something I have never owned before, so I can splash for at least the last weeks leading to it and wear it all day. I want the fragrance to be connected just with these extremely happy and comforting period in my relationship (we've been together 18 years!). This fragrance fits springtime in northern Italy perfectly (I live near the sea). Eau Moheli is in the top 5 (I'm also considering some by Jean Claude Ellena's line Le Couvent, or Coco, but a lot depends on the day's temperature). If it turns out to be a chilly day, I'll wear something more comforting than Eau Moheli. I love that it is not mixed with vanilla or coconut, but if it's a chilly day, I'll need vanilla.

In my book, this is an inspired, beautiful, feminine almost spiritual piece, and in a class among the best fragrances of all time. It is unique and you won’t smell it everywhere, yet it is relaxed, natural, wearable and undemanding. It personifies an easy, yet elevated feminine warmth (and could not be worn by a cold fish). It provides a persistent aura of pure, delicious, decanted sunshine, with maybe just a breath of autumnal wistfulness about it (i am wearing it in September). It feels like poured honey (without smelling like it). It feels like a feeling rather than a scent. It is a summer fragrance, one to wear when you feel happy, warm and sensuous. It is what Titania, queen of the fairies from a Midsummer Night’s Dream would smell like. I drenched myself in it about 2 hours ago and it is not offensive or overpowering. It just glows.

Absolutely love this one! I was looking for a fragrance which reminds me of tropical holidays without it being a typical coconutty suntan lotion scent. This one smells like I'm on an island wandering through a lush green tropical forest with addictive florals, and I can see the crystalline water sparkling in the sun - as in the image on the bottle really! It's intoxicating but still fresh from the spicy touches. The more I wear this the more it's growing on me. Can see how this wouldn't be to everyone's taste, imo not a safe blind buy. I mix this with unscented body lotion to make it last longer. Also like to layer this with Guerlain terracotta if I wanted to amplify the floral notes and make it more solar... sometimes I even add California reverie to this combo! Love walking around smelling like a tropical floral bouquet, can you tell?

I adore this fragrance, such a perfect bouquet... when you listen to a choir singing, the idea is not to hear each singer, but to hear them as one voice. That's exactly how perfectly balanced this is. My only complaint? I need 4 or 5 sprays to make it perform at the volume I want... it lingers on my skin for a while, and then I don't hear the song anymore. I'll keep reapplying. It's wonderful! I read below: "light, faint, and not overly sweet. It's definitely a safe perfume, but I can see why it's not ultra popular. It's very 90's inspired!" So maybe that's why I like it so much? I was a teenager in the 90s and Eau Moheli reminds me a bit of Amarige by Givenchy. Nota Bene: I know they don't have much in common, but Byredo Mohave Ghost makes me feel the same way. (But this one is more intense, as Mohave is like a ghost!).

I am biased as this is one of my favourite fragrances ever, so my review will be overwhelmingly positive. It is floral, fresh and fun. It makes me feel squeaky clean and transports me into my garden no matter where I am. I wear this all year around but it preforms exceptionally well in spring and summer. The florals are definitely the star of the show, but they are cushioned by an elegantly clean, almost soapy, base. The pepper and ginger gives it a lovely zing reminiscent of citrus but with more body. It is a very well crafted fragrance and I would recommend it to people who like floral fragrances and are looking for one that is not sweet but instead a bit zesty. On me it easily lasts the whole day, and after the first hour it doesn’t change much, just stays that gorgeous zesty flower scent.

I received a bottle of Eau Moheli as a gift. The one I have is in the typical rounded Diptyque bottle. It wasn't love at first sniff, but this is now one of my favourite scents. I can't really tell the notes apart on this one, except the strong ylang and maybe a hint of neroli. A very unusual perfume to my nose: smells both tropical and refreshing, like a blast of soft wind through a tropical garden. Reminiscent of summer, warmth and greenery, without any coconut or vanilla: it's all soft yellow and white florals with a spicy undercurrent. Projection and longevity are great on me, especially on fabric. I get whiffs of it all day long and can still smell it on my clothes days later.

My love for Eau Moheli is profound. Ironically this is mostly because I don't like ylang as a note in perfumery. Diptyque had an amazing hand treating ylang here - instead of the usual heady, creamy, bold and (dare I say) trashy entry the flower smells fizzy, airy, herbal, and light-hearted. It opens with lots of pink pepper and ginger. The creamy heart of ylang is present, but it unfolds very slowly as it dries down instead of whacking you in the face. The yellow floral facet never gets overwhelming thanks to the ginger and vetiver which really freshen up the scent profile. It took me too long to get a bottle. Now I promise myself I'll always have some in hand for summer. 10/10.

I never thought I was much for ylang ylang, but this floral scent won’t get out of my head and has proven otherwise. Soft fresh yellow florals, pepper, and a fresh green airy quality. It feels like the precise moment when dawn breaks on the first day of summer. Soft and pretty and happy and a bit clean and cotton-like, emphasis on soft. It dries to something that is a touch nondescript, but I can’t help enjoying it anyway. Editing to say this is anything but nondescript. It's truly the most lovely green peppery ylang-ylang scent. It's an all season perfun that is such an easy reach. Most people call Do Son an easy reach, but for me it's Eau Moheli.

This perfume gives me the vibes of soft and sophisticated. The ylang ylang is very prominent. The ylang ylang isn't overpowering but has a nice floral effect when combined with the ginger note. I was slightly disappointed because at Nordstrom the ginger note shined beautifully but I can't really notice it in the perfume I ordered. This perfume would be nice to wear in any occasion since it isn't heavy on the skin and the scent is slightly vague since it becomes a slight floral skin scent after about an hour. The only reason I don't see myself reaching for this scent in the fall because this scent is about 70% floral 30% woody.

I just blind bought this fragrance, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises in my collection. It’s a beautifully sophisticated floral scent where creamy ylang-ylang is perfectly balanced by the subtle spice of black pepper and fresh ginger, creating something both unique and effortlessly elegant. It has a fresh, airy character that captures the feeling of summer while still being warm and comforting. On my skin, the longevity is only around 2–3 hours, but that’s not a reason for me to love it any less. The scent itself is so beautiful that I’m happy to reapply it throughout the day.

I love this scent so much. I wear it to beaches and museums and it makes me feel refined and artsy. It’s unisex but the florals do make it lean more feminine. I think it’s fine for both women and men but it’s definitely not a masculine scent. The opening is a peppery fruity vibe and it dries down to a nice warm floral with pepper floating on top. It’s a fun take on a tropical vibe, leaning into the foliage rather than the fruit scents of an island. It doesn’t last super long or project very well but I still love it. It’s just enough to be present. I think it’s worth the price!

This has remained in heavy rotation for a decade but when I saw the fragrance notes and description listed here I had to double check I had the right page — on me, in the bottle, wherever, it’s 100% the smell of my friend’s ylang ylang tree after a tropical rain storm. It’s green all the way. I never cared for ylang ylang fragrances — I keep trying! Too spicy, too powdery. Here the note is tempered by the wet, vibrant green leaves. Not amber, not wood. Green. As with most Diptyque fragrances I find some must get onto my clothes for better longevity.

Moheli- too light faint ylang which is hardly to detect - citrussy at the opening then a hint of ylang fades to nothing, no real drydown, no base. But nice as long it lasts. Addition after months after I have used up my bottle by half: Never thought that I would looove this fresh spicy Ylang soon much. It's uplifting, referring and like ice cubes on the skin when it is really hot outside. I have the pocket size always in my bag. Edit months later: still love this frag. Bought the large bottle now. Can’t wait for the spring to come...

A kind Diptyque employee recommended me this Eau Moheli after I told him that I love Fleur de peau and peppery scents. Just like the illustration on the bottle, it reminds me of a calm sun-setting yard with a freesia-y and jasmine-y smell (which actually turned out to be ylang-ylang). A bit of vetiver and ginger makes this different from other boring floral perfumes. Edit: I wore this for a good 4-5 hours and the tuberose was too strong and I noticed I am not a fan of strong tuberose dried-down scent. :(

Eau Moheli by Diptyque smells like nothing else in my collection! Spicy pink pepper and ginger top notes tickle my nose with buttery soft ylang-ylang all on a vetiver base. Oddly enough this fragrances makes me think “banana leaves” because it’s spicy and green smelling. I love spicy scents and florals and I think this combined the two of them in to one dreamy fragrance! It’s never too spicy or too floral and very fresh – I have a feeling I am going to be wearing Eau Moheli frequently this summer!

This smells like someone who gives the best hugs. A close friend who is warm-skinned, tanned, naturally optimistic. It’s not a scent profile I’d typically gravitate towards, but I wore this to the swimming pool today and it made feel so embodied and connected to the glorious summer heat (in a good way, for once). The balmy yellow florals never veer cloying; they remain fresh and uplifting, with a big spotlight on smooth, buttery ylang ylang. I think Eau Moheli may be a diptyque hidden gem.

I'm usually more of a white floral or rose fan so this is not my usual kind of floral for me. But I had the chance to try this in a Diptyque booth today and I really like it! It's lovely ylang ylang scent with a zest of ginger. Of course, there are other florals in here too, which makes this fragrance more complex, but mainly the intoxicating sweetness comes from the ylang ylang. Like most Diptyque products, it smells very natural and not cloying. Full bottle worthy, I think.

A perfume inspired by the Comoros in East Africa should be unique...and this is! It smells like nothing else out there, it's a perfect blend of tropical (without coconut), lush green palms and spicy pepper. This was the first time I had smelled ginger in a perfume, and it blew me away. Every other ginger note smells artificial after this. Moheli smells great in colder weather too when the green floral notes and waxy ylang really come forward. I will forever love this one!

Absolutely a Summer's day with each spray....not a wet tropics vibe so much, which is what could be perceived by it's name & the Ylang Ylang note, but more a 'dry' heat still with a 'beachy' essence to it. Like a beach surrounded by sand dunes, causurina trees & rural farmlands along a coastline. Must be the resins, vetiver & incense notes blending with the ginger. This has definitely become a warm sweet high-summer GO TO perfume for me.

Lovely perfume! Bought a tester pack from Dyptique to try out a few fragrances before committing and it was so good! I am not the biggest fan of roses or very strong flowery perfumes but I very much enjoy this one. It’s both warm and cool, has depth in a way I can’t describe. Perfect for spring, for both the day and night. Sexy and beautiful, especially when it dries down a bit. Want to purchase a full bottle soon!

This is the perfect floral to me, I love its green and fresh notes and the vetiver lends depth to it. It’s so well blended. I seem to be one of the few people who would not characterize this scent as tropical, creamy or banana-y, hence I would wear this year round. It‘s green in an untamed, beautiful way (the flower of ylang ylang even looks like that too me lol), mixed with a little spice in the most organic way.

I tested this Diptyque scent and ended up purchasing it, and I’m so happy I did. It’s refreshing and clean, but still has that sophisticated edge that makes it feel really special. To me, this scent paints the picture of a beautiful view in Santorini, Greece. Relaxing outdoors beneath a soft white fabric sun cover, with the breeze moving through and the sun. It feels fresh, elegant, and effortlessly beautiful.

Stopped by Diptyque and walked away with this in under 10 minutes. I always make myself wear a scent for a day or test an entire sample out before ever buying a FB. I didn't follow my rule with this one. This is a really lovely, surprisingly green, intoxicating-but-not-stuffy take on ylang ylang. On me it wears fresh and lively, even in the dry down, which settles into something a bit more soft and sweet.

After reading the other reviews I had to share my experience with Eau Moheli which really is quite different. I find this perfect for those freezing rainy days: it turns to the most seductive scent I ever smelled!!! Mysterious-sensual-spicy with just enough green and flowery undertones that don't take over. Lasts until shower on skin and until laundry on clothes. Try it your self, you never know...

This is a real Ylang-Ylang magic. I usually find the note cloying and sharp. But this one is just splendid. Totally feminine summer night vibe. It feels just like sitting in a tropical flower garden in the evening. Warm, creamy, smooth, and a little spicy. I didn't hesitate at all to grab a full bottle and I love it more and more every time I use it. This is very underrated IMHO.

I received a sample of Diptyque Eau Moheli and I am testing it today. The initial spray is very flowery and smells like a flower bush my grandmother had in her back yard. It brought me back to that moment. The Ylang-Ylang is definitely there with other flowery notes. The incense is definitely in the dry down. Definitely a summer scent. I'm not sure if I will purchase a bottle.

This is my first Diptyque bottle and I just had to bring this mama home !!! It absolutely, no doubt, smells like Ylang-ylang. My childhood flower. The scent is so nice, so floral...it captures the true ylang-ylang goodness. Very fresh, very real. if your are an ylang-ylang lover, if you are from the islands and a lover true island girl, this I'm sure you will like !

I just love this. Ylang ylang is one of my favorite florals and I love how it's done here. Very well blended in my opinion and very signature scent worthy. It's not screechy, and the blend of spice and earthy notes is very palatable. It does give grandma a little bit, but I don't think that's a negative thing whatsoever. Looking forward to a full bottle!

I was in NQ swedish company to buy diptyque EAU Capitale but when I smell this I was like ..Bummm!! one of the best best summer fragrance in the world ,but all year round signature parfum to..I can't explain in words how creamy, soft ,green but kind of sweet/ powdery ...OMG so beautiful, and I taket home the 100ml no doubt!

As jubal said, this is a very comfortable scent. Possibly for me, especially, since I come from the tropics. :) It feels very cozy and homy to me. But also like the beach, a bit. Nice every-day summer fragrance, but I can see it being comforting in the winter. It is a warm fragrance, so it sits very well on the skin.

A hot humid summer day in a bottle. Very peppery and spicy at a first sniff then dries down to a beautiful yellow floral. I always imagine myself on vacation in a tropical asian country when im wearing this. Not by the beach. But a bustling hot humid city. Cant wear it in the winter. But love it nonetheless.

I recently received this as a sample after purchasing Olene in store. It will definitely be my next Diptyque purchase!! It starts out warm and spicy on my skin and the mellows out into a smooth yellow floral. If Olene is my perfect spring fragrance, Eau Moheli is my perfect summer fragrance!

A beautiful yellow floral scent with an interesting "zing" from the ginger makes this perfume truly unique. Originally I was unsure about the ginger note but as I would wear it throughout the day I really enjoyed the brightness and spiciness added by the ginger. My go-to yellow floral scent!

My favorite fragrance, if only it lasted longer. I love the warmth of the pepper with the ylang ylang. The ylang ylang in this is on point. I actually find the ylang ylang here more accurate than Gurlain terracota. This scent is a bit more relaxing. I like this for a summer date night.

I don't know how to describe this as my nose can't pin point anything except the pink pepper. It's phenomenal and so unique, so sexy and ethereal, that I genuinely can't pick out individual scents. It is a 10/10 frag, unisex, sexy, very androgenous, yellow flowers and spice!

To my nose this smells like a photo realistic lemon-ginger tea, where the florals create a subtle tea note. I get more Tiare and not so much ylang-ylang. Very pretty and cozy, might be full bottle worthy. Partner also loves it, says I smell like expensive face cream.

theres something fecal lurking somewhere in the heart notes that makes this interesting, and i absolutely love it! its photorealistic ylang ylang (used to smell it fresh from the tree growing up). if ure looking for a more fecal aspect of ylang ylang this is for u

Sadly for my wallet, I love the sample of this fragrance. Ylang-yang shines through so perfectly. Yellow florals are my favorite - if you want to kidnap me, just tell me you have free bottles of such perfumes in the back of your van. I’ll enter voluntarily :D

This is the olfactory equivalent of the "artificial paradises" of C. Baudelaire but in this case very very natural paradises. A green, exotic and balsamic fragrance, it brings to mind tropical islands surrounded by clear water and rich vegetation. Wonderful.

I was not expecting much from this and typically do not enjoy 'yellow floral' notes, whatever that might mean, yet along with Eau de Tarroco this is a delight: very natural, very wafty and lasts a decent amount of time with just a couple of sprays.

So lovely, clean soft beachy floral. Really refreshing and happy. I wish it lasted longer!! I really only get 2-3 hrs out of it, even on fabric. Even with this longevity I'm still debating getting a bottle for the summer... the vibes are immaculate

This is a perfect sophisticated floral scent. Beautiful ylang ylang with a punch of pepper and ginger. For me, this is an ideal office fragrance that would boost confidence as it radiates from the skin so beautifully.
