Eau Nabati Diptyque Today I wear Eau Nabati; the 2nd full wear. I think this make great Leathery-Woody Ambery with Green fragrance. "A wood leather, I may say" and it find this quality; tranquil. Eau Nabati didn't wear like a beast, it is solid and stable. It is not a soft speaker either, but it kind of a guy who speak slow in stable range. It slowly develop overtime from wood to resin. As Cedar a part of story teller and Sticky wood resin envelope. I don't feel so floral, but it have the floral undertone that I like. Softly sweet and it navigates; play a subtle role on the story. Always be there. The base of Eau Nabati; Apart from Leathery Balsam. feel slight labdanummy, tint of Vetiver and Nagamotha, In recent "The Intense Fragrance" collection release by Diptyque. Benjoin Boheme and this "Eau Nabati" Have something in common. (If you wish to seek further information about Benjoin Beheme; I make another dairy there) I think they go very Oreintal. They share similar soft Woody-Oud accord with soft spice but more dry and neutral but It walks in difference way. Benjoin Boheme go heavy on Vanilla and Traditional Amber. While Eau Nabati walk to nature place; rough cedar with mild coumarin undertone. I just wanna point out similarity. I slightly think of "Jovoy-Private Label" when I wear this. No it is not similar scent by not mean; but the way the fragrance covey message. I feel it share kind of similar outcome. The scent of stable mindfulness. "Private Label go heavy on Leathery Tar and Vetiver / Earthy Patchouli. Ean Nabati go heavy on Balsam and Amber with Cedar, but the core of it kind of same. A very woody fragrance - the story told by Nagamotha. I think Palm Tree is fantasy suggestion; I believe it have something to do With Cedar, Green Note and Nagamotha." Eau Nabati is one of personal quest fragrance. As I interest in (Peru Balsam / Tolu Balsam), original interest was Guerlain Chamade. ... The dry-woody amber is so peaceful. to the point I starts reconsider buying a bottle of Private Label. But if there is one point stopping me. I think quality of this is perfectly "Unisex" for me. Which is a quality I always fond of. I think for scent like this "75ml." is more than ok to own. I don't think you will reach this so often. But a break in Woody-Amber scent. I found another quiet place. Enjoyable...

My first impression: Hypnotic Poison by Dior—one my mom used to wear. But Eau Nabati is less artificial. It’s richly layered. The vanilla is honied. The coconut is husky. The spice runs deep, but elegant woody notes manage to pierce through the balsamic resins as everything dries down. I’m definitely getting *sarsaparilla*. I agree with a lot of reviews that describe EN as a vintage style amber, but it’s not animalic, aldehydic, or synthetic smelling. Allegedly it smells like another Dior fragrance: Dune. I haven’t tried that one, but I have read Dune the sci-fi novel, and Eau Nabati smells EXACTLY like what I imagine the planet Arakis smells like. Scent imagery: The psychedelic spice Melange, sarsaparilla, dark woods, Dreams Filtered Cigars, a playa bonfire, baklava, Leo with a Scorpio moon, fine gold dust EDIT: Ok! I tried Dune by Dior and it kind of smells like EN...but Dune has an aerosol smell...and a sunscreen smell...both of which ruin it for me. I guess that makes Dune better suited for the summer than EN. It’s kind of beachy...But I just don’t think it smells as refined as EN.

I purchased a full bottle of Eau Nabati after getting a sample of it ... upon purchase of Eau Rihla. I've heard it described as a modern sophisticated luxury take of a nostalgic barbershop fragrance. I feel that cheapens the brilliance of this scent formula. Rarely do I read a Diptyque fragrance description on their website and feel it nails the essence of the fragrance, however, with Eau Nabati, I truly feel the sales copy nails it: "In a composition rich in contrasts, fresh bergamot and petitgrain mingle with the amber warmth of immortelle flowers and balm of Peru. Opposing elements in harmony... In the vast desert emerges a miniature seemingly painted amid the dunes – an oasis untouched by time. As a visitor approaches, doors open onto a paradise garden." I absolutely adore the fragrance and find myself reaching for it more than my Eau Rihla bottle, which was a complete shocker... bc for a while there I thought Eau Rihla was the finest fragrance possible to discover here on Earth.

Caramelized, scorched, smoky, mineral, salty, green. This fragrance burns itself into your memory. It smells of stories told around the campfire, the warmth of friendship surrounded by wilderness. For poets, cowboys, and dreamers. And it's sexy as hell. The comparison to Dune is the most natural one. I love Dune and take it to be a masterpiece of modern perfumery. However, I would say that Dune has a more expansive, aloof nature. Eau Nabati is somewhere more inland, more unbridled, less solitary and introverted than Dune. (It also reads as much more contemporary, if that matters to you. Dune was my mom's scent in the 90s and so I have a hard time wearing something with so many childhood memories attached.)

This fragrance got me into perfumes period. It’s Smokey and mysterious upon application but then as the day goes on it transforms into a friendly green scent and finally trails off into a warm sweet amber scent by the end of the day. It is by far my most complimented perfume but it also has a strong personality that may not be fitting on some. The sweet amber notes also stick! I have shirts that still smell faintly out of the wash, I can get a whiff of it in my car every once in a while. I would definitely sample this first and experience its shifting moods before determining if it’s right for you.

it starts as a really nice citrus smell which doesn't last long before it starts evolving into this really intense beast of a fragrance that gets stronger the longer you wear it... I don't know how to describe what I'm smelling except that it feels so wrong yet so right at the same time, like something is rotting but you can't get enough of it for some weird reason. I think if I had to reduce my fragrance collection down to 1 bottle, it would be eau nabati

Such a rollercoaster! Spraying Eau Nabati reveals a delightful mix of scents. At first, fresh and green notes, before turning into a resinous and balsamic scent. The fragrance’s journey is exciting and unexpected. When you inhale, a strong "anise" syrup note comes out, aromatic, bitter, and sour. As the fragrance goes on, sweet notes come out, mixed with balsamic undertones. Moderate sillage, it lasts about 6 hours on my skin and a bit longer on clothes.

I got a sample of this for my dad when I went to purchase my own fragrance (for myself, I got Tam Dao but ended up regretting not buying Orpheon instead). This fragrance absolutely blooms on his skin and lasts the next day or two even after showering. If you are someone who tends to have a bit of that “gasoline scent” when you sweat, this fragrance will mesh well with your body chemistry.

This is good stuff, there's something addictive about it. Contrasting notes that perfectly compliment each other and combine to something more than the sum of its parts. There is an uplifted aspect from citrus and green notes, and there's thick, buttery smooth richness to it as well. Refreshing, but deep and dark. Really well done. Pricey, but worth it.

Ambers and balsams mixed with dried herbs and flowers and a few citrus drops I smell more in the opening as a soapy breeze. Nothing fresh about this one. It is a mediteranean scenery under the hot midsummer sun. Resembles Dune well, I love them both. Exactly, in the heat! That's when these scents develop fully gorgeously so!

Ooooh wow. This is so tart, vegetal and woody. The amber warms it up from becoming a cold and overly masculine scent with all that citrus and cedar. It's all of the notes at the same time. I love it, and I hope Diptyque continues this magnificent upward trajectory regarding the quality of their fragrances.

It’s really good spicy and aromatic scent. I feel some refreshing anise notes as well as deeper and darker woody notes in the base. I also can feel some subtle sweetness but it’s more of balsamic warmth rather than gourmand sweetness. Stunning complex scent! Follow me on ig: scent.guide

Hot tenured professor who wears natural fibers in darks and neutrals exclusively. This has no notes that match Meo Fuscini’s Sogni, but it’s all I can think about. It has the same vibe, I think it’s the addictive woody/ambery dryness with a savory feel and reminiscence of incense.

This is right up my alley. It’s ambery and green. A versatile fragrance that can be worn all year round. It has fresh aspects, but also heavy enough to be worn in the fall and winter. Love this! It’s probably just me, but this smells like a beefier Sartorial by Penhaligon’s. 8/10

Yess, this is good! To me, it has a bit of an olive tree and citrus note that is slightly spicy and lingers in a way only a few of my favorite perfumes do. It reminds me of Un Jardin A Cythere by Hermes, which I love. This is a great, unique fragrance.

Didn’t love it at first until yesterday I went to get a candle and it just randomly clicked on me. Citrus with a touch of amber-powdery notes that adds some depth and a comforting warmth to it......... So so SO GORGEOUS where have i been 😩😩

This is how I imagine wealthy individuals in Dubai would smell. It also gives the impression of an academic aura, feels hyper-modern, and is undeniably elegant. One of Diptyque’s finest creations. 10/10

I think this is great perfume for warm dry climate ( desert), and I doesn’t like it incold weather. Used it during my trip to Tenerife and enjoyed it a lot 😊

The newest release from Diptyque, Eau Nabati. Nabati, derived from Arabic meaning “plant-based”. This perfume is the only other fragrance from the collection to adorn the gold after Eau Rihla (Rihla meaning “Journey” in Arabic). At first spray it’s definitely an unusual one. I get a burst of citrus and greenery with a notable warm waxy honeyed and almost spicy note at the heart. The immortelle being quite prominent. It develops as it dries down to a softer creamier intimate fragrance with a touch of sweetness from the amber. I wore this on a lightly breezy day and the sillage that the breeze enveloped me with was unlike anything I currently own and for that reason I’m enjoying this new release. Unfortunately, the sillage and projection in closed spaces is quite average and quickly develops into a skin scent, which came as a surprise to me because Eau Rihla was exceptional in its performance. Although it has the lovable Diptyque DNA, I wouldn’t recommend blind buying it as I did. Thankfully it was released at the right weather for it and I will continue enjoying it in this pleasant spring weather while it lasts.

There’s something incredibly nostalgic about Eau Nabati, though in execution it’s decidedly modern. It’s like something your grandmother would have worn in the seventies, but updated. It strikes me as a scent someone who really likes suede leather would wear, though it doesn’t have a leather note. This fragrance balances light freshness with its heavier resinous notes quite deftly, and seems to convey through its warm spices the dry heat of the desert while its green and floral notes hold a not-so-distant promise of a quenching oasis. There’s an aspect of Eau Nabati’s opening that reminds me very strongly of Dior Escale a Pondichery, likely the bergamot. Cardamom isn’t listed as a note, but I smell it here all the same. Sillage and duration seem slightly above average. Like most of Diptyque’s lineup, it lingers on clothing for a much longer time than it stays on skin. This may be full-bottle worthy for amber fans, especially if you tend to like fragrances with a more classic vibe.

Fragrantica’s right, it is ambery woody then green. It definitely evokes the color brown or some kind of balm but there is a cold kind of spicy facet, not a hot warm spice. There’s something about it that reminds me of mentholated oil or balm that’s prepetually in the background behind all the wood and amber. The wood’s also very material/textural and almost antiquated, so I think they’re successful in telling the story they had intended! A dry garden near coastal waters. No clue what the mediterranean actually smells like but the olfactive texture of palm trees/wood and dry flora is familiar from a southeast asian PoV. Something about it reminds me if an ancient city. It feels mature/classic and not that casual of a wear but i don’t think it smells dated!

It's a brisk walk through the midday desert warmth, dappled sunlight through the palms, the taste of morning herbal tea still dancing on your tongue. You seek respite through the closest open door, a posh barbershop with smooth talking middle-eastern men. A gorgeous and exotic woman, a beautician named Siempreviva Dorada, offers you her chair. You sit, and as if hypnotized, immediately fall into a long, deep sleep, dreaming on a loop of all-you-can-eat waffles swimming in the ambrosial maple syrup of the heavens. You awake many hours later. it's now dark. You're clean-shaven, starving, wondering which part was the actual dream. You may still be in one.

Starts off very masculine amber citrusy which almost smells typical, then quickly evolves into something completely different. I find that this smells a LOT like eden by cacharel. Eden but without dewiness and without a camphor facet. This is indeed more resinous and darker in a way, but it doesnt lose its greenness. The Immortelle doesnt smell savory here which is a positive i guess. I enjoy it and i will probably discover more about it but i wouldnt go further than a sample. I dont even know why this is more expensive than the others when it doesnt smell that complex or rich or special. Still nice however

I keep changing me mind on this one. It smells differently depending on the weather and time of day and I can either love it, hate it, enjoy it or dislike it. It's kind of a bold release. It can smell a bit like a cloying old fashioned cologne, but also like a really unique offering, which is both medicinal, Middle Eastern and manly. I can only assume it's an attempt to create something that echoes the style of Diptyque's earliest perfumes by Serge Kalouguine, such as Eau Lente, L'Autre and L'Eau Trois. Perfumes that are simple in style, but have incredible depth and are earthy and heavy.

In the opening, the closest thing to a vintage Dune dupe you'll get, but that's gone after about 15-20min unfortunately. It's very nice but lacks the depth of the original Dune by then, and just warms up to something flatter and woodier. I also don't see how this is voted as primarily masculine, maybe it's my association with Dune, the women's one, that makes this absolutely feminine to me.

Eau Nabati feels like walking through a desert oasis. the sun is out while it rains. something zesty blends in perfectly with the lush, green landscape. Eau Nabati's spicy green freshness is delightfully unique and exotic without being offensive or strange. performance is moderate, becoming a clean petitgrain skin scent after a few hours. worth trying, but not blind buy safe.

Ohhh this is not for everyone, but it is for me! Summer hay, august sun and dried grass fields, yellow. It breaths, it is full of air, so dry. To me it is not vintage at all, it is vintage inspired but made very Diptyque-esque, simple, polished, luxurious but on a natural side. Very nice aura and longevity for this brand! Sparkling amber, just how I like it ✨🌞

To me and on me, the imortelle and balsam smell like fresh tobacco. Add some citrus on top and a powdery vanilla amber below. It’s lovely. It reminds me of old school Diptyque. On the downside, it’s quite a bit lighter than it should be and dissipates within an hour or so.

This is the third gold bottle after eau rihla and opsis (harrods exclusive). It smells distinctive with peru balsam and immortelle but I think it will be a bit cloying in a few hours as it is sweet and resinous.

I am the #1 supporter of "blind buy fragrances, its fun!!", but I think you really need to try this one in person before you commit. This really evolves and changes while on the skin, going from spices to floral to soapy to tobacco to hints of leather and musk. It was to the point where it was somewhat difficult for me to characterize what I was smelling. I gave some to my sister to test, and it smelled different on her to me. About an hour in it settles on a scent very very reminiscent of L'Ombre Des Merveilles by Hermès and then it stays there for the rest of the wear. Have 5ml to test

The opening with the bergamot and petit grain is spectecular but unfortunately does not last long. Then four hours in I find mainly amber/balsamic notes with a green grassy twist. Still kind of nice. Five hour later all the amazing green stuff is gone and I am left with a strong brown powdery mess on my skin that I find annoying. It made me want to shower it off in the evening after my first wearing. I never liked powdery amber fragrances so this is not strange to me. I just did not expect the fragrance to chance so much from top to base.

This reads very heavy, incense-y to me. I don't smell any of the lighter green or citrus notes. The predominant note is the Tolu balsam by far. I barely get the amber, actually. It's dry but sticky, quite resinous. Dully sweet. I wouldn't call this a barbershop fragrance myself given the lack of aromatic/herbaceous notes to my nose. I think this will be too heavy for many, but it comes off as refined and sophisticated for the scent profile. I won't be reaching for this myself, but I will use the one or two wears left in my sample. 7/10.

Upon spraying and first 20-30 minutes I was super impressed- it was slightly green, had tropical vibes, deep sweetness and all the goody-goody. But then... it started smelling like a barber shop. Your rich grandfather’s cologne. If only it didn’t end up this way...

I find it pretty unique. It's green, but not that typical barbershop, more royal and mysterious (in the limits of a green, aromatic fragrance). Even if "barbershop" is typically something associated with male fragrances, this can be worn by females too.

This is pretty spicy, but not as much as Eau Rihla (one of my all time favs). It dries down quickly to a pretty unremarkable, male-leaning scent. Not for me.

Smells like an old lady goes to the opera, putting her vintage dress from 20th and spays this perfume.

Too spicy, gourmand spicy as in it smells like walking into a very expensive spice shop. Woody + green.. the notes I do not gravitate to. It’s no wonder I didn’t like this.

It is pleasant, though not at all new. The opening is reminiscent of Jaipur EDP by Boucheron, with a gentle dance between a shaving foam fougere and an oriental spice profile. The brief fougere freshness dissipates quickly, and the drydown sweetens with a distinct anise note, which proceeds to slide into a very familiar, dry papyrus-patchouli scent. It was at that point that I realised what I was smelling: Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson. Yes, the humble $15 USD chypre that I once purchased years ago, enjoyed massively, and regretted not finding anything exactly comparable, smells like a better, more potent version of the drydown of a £215 Diptyque perfume. On one hand, I appreciate that classically structured perfumes like Eau Nabati are being marketed to people who are perhaps not familiar with older styles of perfumes and are willing to plunk down that incredible markup. One could live in some hope that perhaps if scents like these sell well, then that would usher in more innovative iterations of similar dry, woody scent profiles. That would certainly be a welcome change from the glutted carousel of high-pitched, shouty, linear, and sweet scents that dominate the mass market. At the same time, I also see the humour in having a $15 Jessica Simpson perfume on one wrist, a £215 Diptyque on the other, and seeing the Jessica Simpson accomplish the same dry, orientalist desert, and pharaoh's tomb scent to better effect. Was Fancy Nights entirely new? No; I saw it as an exceptionally well-executed homage to another era of perfumery. It accomplished its brief of bringing a vintage-style chypre to the market at a remarkable price point and quality. By a similar token, Eau Nabati is a lovely perfume and enjoyable in its own right. However, an homage is not worth £215. Diptyque has created more unique, enjoyable scents than this, and comparatively, this one is one of their less remarkable releases. Setting aside the excessive markup, I generally like Diptyque because it reminds me of the type of perfume that Guerlain produced before The Fall (i.e. LVMH takeover and eventual ouster of Jean-Paul Guerlain). A perfume like Eau Nabati is essentially a throwback, repackaging a sophisticated, timeless style for contemporary consumers who enjoy a higher price point and the perceived cachet of luxury branding. I highlight this point because one's perception and enjoyment of this perfume will be determined by one's familiarity with vintage-style perfumes (and their homages). If I didn't know about five other alternative scents that estimate the scent of Eau Nabati, then I might enjoy it more. However, the reality is that Diptyque, home of the cartoonishly large £300 candles, has raised its prices over the years past the point of silliness. For someone who has been following the brand for a while and knows how much their full-size bottles used to cost a mere few years ago, it is laughable to pay a premium for something that smells like a less potent version of Jaipur EDP and Fancy Nights. Eau Nabati is likable enough; however, 'likable enough' is not good enough, especially from an overpriced house that can do much better. Ultimately, Eau Nabati's uninspired execution, coupled with recent price hikes, warrants a sceptical brow lift toward Diptyque (while spraying my Fancy Nights). Eau Nabati might smell better if Diptyque weren't essentially marking up a perfume that I already own and purchased for mere lunch money.

Impossible to obtain in my country, but I love it. The bergamot and petitgrain top notes juxtaposed with the balsam and patchouli in the mid and base reminds me of the opening of Davidoff’s Zino pre-reformulation. I’m not saying they smell alike, but the opening has the same rich, textured feel that somehow calls to mind warm, aromatic, beige sand. That kind of richness used to be much more common in perfumery before the rise of superambers because perfumers had to rely on balancing explosive yet ephemeral volatiles with rich, bass-like fixatives to create texture. Eau Nabati dries down simultaneously green and balsamic, never sacrificing its character to jarring ambroxan derivatives or syrupy, overwhelming ethyl maltol bases. Just lovely stuff! And yes, despite not being a blue or citrusy freshie, this manages feels very right in the middle of summer - like something you might smell rising off an oasis garden in scorching heat.

I usually find Immortelle rather challenging but it's so balanced here, adds a nice sweet floral freshness to the bitter sharp citrus, chewy resins, and dry woods. I've always loved the resinous perfumes of the 20th century, but anymore they are so over the top it's hard to wear. They DON'T smell alike but Eau Nabati to me gives me the feeling what I imagine it must have been like for Europeans when Shalimar was released - a romantic perfume made of precious ingredients that harkens to ancient times in exotic places. Eau Nabati feels like a refined perfume for a modern audience but that still causes daydreams of egyptology and Biblical times. I think it's elegant and I would love to see more modernized resin scents like this. Lasts about 4 hours before fading significantly.

This fragrance isn't for everyone; it's designed for those with discerning noses. I say this not out of arrogance, but because the fragrance itself dictates that only experienced connoisseurs will truly understand it. It's a unique fragrance, even in its composition, yet it's pleasantly warm and meticulously blended. This perfume combines purity and a touch of glamour. Its notes are beautiful, long-lasting, and somewhat diffused, but overall, its scent makes you feel suspended between heaven and earth. Honestly, you can't tell if it's airy, coastal, or desert-like—you just can't. But all of that will fade as you experience this fragrance. A brilliant fragrance that will never be replicated, Overall 10/10

This fragrance smells completely different from what I hoped for. As per the description above, I expected it to be fresher and more herbal; but, in reality, the sweet, resinous, balsamic notes dominate (amber, Peru balsam, cinnamon and other spices). I see that other Fragrantica users were reminded of Dior Dune, however, Dune is actually fresher than Eau Nabati, thanks to its sharp and prominent citruses and aldehydes in the opening. With Eau Nabati, I was actually reminded of a fragrance such as Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain, or even Zoologist Camel, although Eau Nabati is somewhat sweeter and milder. Test before you buy, because it obviously very much depends on our skin chemistry.

Don’t hate me but it reminds me of a softer version of BR540, but I’m not much of an amber connoisseur since it’s not usually gravitate towards, so take that with a grain of salt. I was a little surprised looking at the notes here as I was expecting saffron and some gourmand notes based on what I was getting from my wrist. I get a little bit of an horchata accord from this as well. Ultimately not for me and rather unremarkable.
