Eau Plurielle

In my humble opinion, this is Diptyque’s best fragrance. Whenever I pass a boutique, I’ll try out a few various scents and always a spritz of this one—and it’s my perennial favorite. It shares the rose note with Eau Rose, but it’s so much nicer here. I feel like its simplicity is its strength. It’s sheer and refreshing and so luxurious and sophisticated... it’s effortless. It has a certain spa-like quality, but also a tangible fresh laundry quality (as attested to in the official fragrance description of a “scent of a fresh sheet laid on a bed of ivy and roses from Turkey”.) I get a mildly herbal rosewater vibe, some green leaves, and fleeting hints of soapy musk. Its performance is also perfect for me—not at all oppressive or cloying, yet present and noticeable with moderate longevity. I went to finally pick up a bottle yesterday—but I was told it’s been out of stock for months! I hope it’s not discontinued. I was at the new (and impossibly beautiful) London flagship on New Bond Street and had to wander to the very back of the shop to find a single tester bottle nearly empty hidden on a side shelf! Diptyque last year launched a household collection (La Droguerie) of candles and cleaners and such which I thought was conceptually interesting, but I didn’t find the scent particularly great. I wish they would reimagine Eau Plurielle in a similar vein, possibly even consider a collection based around it—the concept of “plurality” is a rich one, and I think if given a proper spotlight, this scent would be quite popular.

Above notes are not correct. This scent is supposed to marry ivy and Turkish rose with wood and musk notes: "Its light mist is reminiscent of the scent of fresh linen that has long been laid on a bed of ivy and Turkish roses. A few seductive hesperidia notes introduce the accord, while musk and wood give it strength and staying power." Plurielle is a little less syrupy than roses like Jo Malone Red Roses. I will use other diptyque fragrances to create Plurielle's scent profile. It is definitely a lot greener than Eau Rose or the old Rosamundi scent. Less sweet as well, much more of the actual rose plant than just petals or rose essence. The pink rose is certainly there, while the ivy note is softer than the icy fresh one that characterizes Eau de Lierre. The ivy in Plurielle is more of a young green sprout than a fully actualized, ripened ivy vine. In regards to L'ombre dans L'eau, this has a similar crisp quality, but Plurielle is much sweeter and more floral. I got about 5 hours wear from the EDT. I think it is a lovely scent for the spring months, but I still prefer Eau Rose because of the interesting honey/lychee elements.

A lovely green scent, although there are no particular green notes listed. I wear this a lot before I go to bed, actually. I find it zen and calming. There's a muskiness that balances with the citrusy-ness that makes the scent seem quite green, but after it sits on my skin it takes on a soapy quality. It's fresh but still has depth and richness. It's quite dry as well. I find Diptyque scents to be quite difficult to explain because there's nothing quite like them. It's always interest at first sniff, but then after wearing them I grow to love them in their own way. 8.5/10

this doesn't smell like citrusy at all, if i have to describe, it's pure rose - think of fresh roses with stems and leaves covered in morning dews. i was tempted to get eau rose for me because it's the perfect rose scent, until i had eau plurielle on. the reason why i got it is because it's more long lasting than eau rose, which vanished after just 10 minutes. the price value is good, the bottle is huge so i can spray it on my blanket and body without feeling sorry lol. so yeah, if you love realistic, fresh rose scent, this-is-it!!!!!!!!

Eau Plurielle was my first Diptyque fragrance, so it holds a special place for me. I get vinegar and rose from it, but in the best possible way: more like a clean white vinegar than a sharp citrus note. It feels fresh, airy, and clean without becoming oily or overly sweet. I loved spraying this on my cashmere sweaters and in my drawers because it creates such a pleasant, neutral, freshly washed scent. Unfortunately, it’s not the easiest fragrance to find, but it remains one of my favorite Diptyque scents.

According to Diptyque's official website. the notes are Ivy, Turkish Rose, Woody Notes and Musk. That said, this is an amazingly fresh, lightly green floral. The dry down brings a gentle wave of spice as well. This is a limited addition, so I highly recommend buying at least one bottle of this lovely linen and body spray! UPDATE: As a hairstylist, I always recommend that a fragrance that doesn't have the longevity one wants, spray some in your hair. You'll be amazed at the difference! Hope this helps.

Eau Plurielle is truly unisex. This is a light yet lingering whimsical fresh rose scent. Often rose scents can be heavy and overpowering. This is very pleasant, light and refreshing. The price for this is rather attractive as well, due to the £90 for a 200ml bottle price tag. It’s the most affordable range from Diptyque so far... You can even use it on your linen sheet and cotton cloths as well as on yourself.

this perfume is my summer signature scent, it is green, refreshing and grounding. The turkish rose (not listed) is green with thick stems and thorns, you can even smell a bit of soil on it surrounded by a clean musk aura and woody elements that make this scent a bit dry yet quite watery and cohesive, a must have for hot humid days.

Green, roses. Not your grandmother's roses either. Very European. Dress it up, dress it down. I love it all year, but not much in dead winter. It's intoxicating, very clean. While traveling, its all you need, for body, sheets and air. You can play with this one too. Layer it with a spritz of something a bit sweeter.

Not a traditional Rose scent. Very Green and fresh and 'younger' than the average rose perfume. The ivy and foliage is light and blends perfectly with the gentle rose. Reminds me of a wet English garden. A beautiful scent for the day. Lasts only a few hours.

I have a sample of this, it's very pretty! I don't get any citrus, just a really nice, natural rose with a hint of musk. I can smell the rose stem and leaves and petals... Really nice.

Please change the notes listed above as it is totally incorrect! It has nothing to do with the real and official notes of L'Eau Plurielle.

i layer this with everything it’s the PERFECT topper for any fresh/flower scent im obsessed

I have a bottle of this and a sample of Penhaligon's Luna. They do smell quite the same except that Eau Plurielle has a slightly sour note whilst Luna is more rounded. I have 3 of the multiuse: Eau Dominotee, Fleur de Peau and this one. If I have to rate them then this will come as last where Fleur de Peau gets the first place.

My job is just... rose. How is rose not listed? Is there more than one version of this? It’s a great rose though, by the way - fresh and sappy and tart, not blousy or heady. Fantastic on clothes and sheets, good value imo. Will also use as a body spray in spring/summer.

Smells incredibly good. Very fresh, citrusy rose. Got a sample about 1 week ago. Then I discovered that it is apparently discontinued? What?

It's ivy and rose, green floral, a little bit powdery. I prefere it on my skin after few hours.

I tested this in store. It's a green scent based on rose. The notes listed here are incorrect.

Citrus and musk. Smells nice enough. Not loving it enough for a bottle though. -

Its a little dull and non-descript. Expensive non descript. Citrus - but nothing definable. Wood - but nothing definable. White musk - but nothing definable. Florals - but nothing definable. Inoffensive but would I spend money on this? No. I started finding it irritating in the long run - not quite one that needs to be washed away but close. Alas, not for me.

pungently sweet Citrus opening evolves into a pure Bulgarian rose experience. Yes, I perceive it as a Bulgarian rose as opposed to Turkish rose which is being alluded to by Dyptique website. The drydown is a musky rose. I found this to be a very linear fragrance lacking in originality and longevity.

Boring simple citrus, nothing is going on in Eau Plurielle...

Diptyque #12 – The conclusion Its obvious that all of us who are passionate about fragrances eventually get “funneled” down certain paths or rabbit holes in this hobby. Naturally we will find brands or houses who’s work will suit our tastes better then others. Once that happens, a sort of a collectors mentality can emerge and that can lead to obsession towards certain brands. I am also in that boat where i seek to test everything i can from my favourite houses, expecting that they will all be unique and i will love all of them unconditionally. In truth, i’ve noticed that there can be alot of overlap inside a brands portofolio’s and this creates redundancy weather we like to admit it or not. The conclusion is that a collectors mentality is often not a healthy one because just like many companies make different versions or variations of their products, so can a perfume house create different variations on a particular style or DNA. This way the customers have the opportunity to “fine tune” their choice and find the one that is tailor-made to them. Viewed from this angle, the criticism of redundancy inside a single brand seems less negative and instead more practical and user friendly. Being the 12th Diptyque i get to test, i believe i got the hang of how the house presents itself. Almost all twelve perfumes i’ve tested had a common theme often presented by similar elements and building blocks. Natural greenery, soft woods, delicate florals, watery ambiances but also citruses, spices and herbs characterise most of the Diptyque perfumes i’ve got to smell and there is bound to be some overlap because of this. Eau Plurielle also plays on the same field. It opens up with a soapy green accord that soon transitions into a watery soft floral profile. Im surprised that the floral notes aren’t listed by Fragrantica because rose and Ivy are mentioned on the official website so the floral accord isn’t merely an illusion. With that said, Eau Plurielle is not the “variation” or version that caters to me. Firstly, im confident to say that all the Diptyque’s felt unisex with the exception of Ofresia and now Eau Plurielle. Both are feminine but this wouldn’t be the main reason why Plurielle ranks lower for me. All in all, the perfume feels the least evocative out of the set. It doesn’t necessarily lack character, but its soft-spoken profile leaves me less excited then its peers. The artistic direction is there, the gentle brush strokes are there but the painting simply doesn't capture me. Speaking of gentle brush strokes, if you google “Painting of a pond”, the images that come up suit the mental image Dyptique perfumes created in my mind. Personally, i keep coming back to L’Ombre dans L’Eau EDT because it interpreted the style in the best way to me. Still, its Tempo, the outlier of the bunch that trully captured my heart.

Insanely attractive... I just love this. The dominant notes are rose related - yes, I know rose is not listed but it is there none-the-less - the fragrantica notes are completely incorrect for this perfume. The rose is a green, fresh rose, similar to the smell of crushed tea-rose petals - quite an unusual note but an attractive one. It's underscored by a fair dose of ambroxan, which strengthens the body of the fragrance and makes it last much longer on the skin. It interplays with the woods and musk in a lovely way. I disagree with a previous poster's statement that this is linear. On my skin it has a distinct evolution from brightly fresh, to rosey-floral, to smoothly musky-ambroxan. The staying power is very good, too. This is an exceptionally attractive and easy-to wear fragrance that is suitable for occasions when you want an unusual, attractive, but understated fragrance.

I tested this and it is a pretty woody rose scent....mainly rose, not much wood, reminds me very much of the rose scent by Diptyque, Eau Rose,in the same styled bottle. I don't understand why rose isn't in the notes list above as I smell rose predominantly. Unfortunately there was no hint of citrus or musk when I tried it. It is marketed as room and linen spray as well as body spray and is reasonably priced for 200ml bottle. Lasted about 2 hours on my skin. I doubt I would purchase though as it is mainly rose scent. If you like roses, then you'd love this one.

I've got the 2ml test bottle. The opening scent of powdery and slight traces of citrus really intrigued me. Apart from Burberry Weekend Women, this perfume has the 90s vibe of an elegant and mature woman, which kinda arouses me too. Definitely will purchase this for my partner.

I definitely smell a lot of rose and ivy, as it is listed in the official website. I don't think it is citrus at all but it is very green and refreshing, like a summer version of Eau Rose. I have Eau Rose in travel size and Eau Plurielle in 200 ml and they combine very well.

A very clean ivy scent. Easily unisex with hints of rose but mainly a very clean green. A nice earthier musk is in the background. Overall not bad but not my style either.

Yes it's nice and fresh but... there is this lil hand sanitizer at Trader Joe's for 1.99 it smells exactly the same and it lasts forever. Go TG's!!

A warmer version of rose morning from fresh. Should add rose on the notes.
