Eau Rose Eau De Parfum

I tested Eau Rose EDP casually at an upscale shopping mall, expecting nothing more than a pleasant rose fragrance experience. The SA sprayed three generous sprays onto my arm and within seconds, a very specific thought crossed my mind: Expensive soft toys. Not fresh garden roses drenched in morning dew. Not sparkling shampoo rose. Not bright youthful florals arranged for easy compliments. This smelled like velvet petals pressed into plush fabric. Like stepping into an elegant gift boutique where the air itself carries traces of rose sachets, expensive wrapping paper and powdery softness lingering quietly in the background. At first, I found the association amusing. The opening felt almost overwhelmingly plush. Dense rose potpourri. Decorative bouquets sitting beneath warm lighting. A softness so textured it bordered on tactile. But as the fragrance settled, something unexpectedly emotional began to unfold beneath the rose. A memory surfaced from somewhere deep and forgotten. Suddenly, I was much younger again, wandering through shopping malls and lingering a little too long in front of oversized plush toys displayed behind pristine glass storefronts. The kind of impossibly soft and luxurious toys you secretly wished someone would one day buy for you. Not because you needed the toy itself, but because to your younger self, being gifted something beautiful and tender felt inseparable from the feeling of being loved. And somehow, Eau Rose EDP smelled exactly like that longing. What moved me most was how immediate the memory felt. I had not consciously thought about those moments in years, yet this fragrance unlocked them effortlessly. It reminded me that scent does not merely preserve memories. It preserves emotional atmospheres. Entire versions of ourselves remain hidden quietly within certain accords, waiting to be awakened. Somewhere between the velvety rose and the soft cloud of musk, I realised I was not purchasing a bottle of perfume at all. I was gathering fragments of longing that had quietly followed me through the years. Tenderness. Girlhood. Forgotten wishes wrapped in plush fabric and rose-scented air. The fragrance felt less like an object and more like the physical manifestation of a memory that had spent years waiting patiently to be remembered. The rose here is magnificent precisely because it does not strive for photorealistic freshness. It feels plush, velvety and softly shadowed. There is a cosmetic warmth woven through the composition that evokes powdered fabric, elegant vanity tables, delicate skin musk and the faint scent left behind on luxurious plush material. I now understand why some people describe Eau Rose EDP as “potpourri-like,” particularly when oversprayed. Three sprays transformed the fragrance into a full bouquet of velvety rose petals unfurling all at once. But once the intensity softened, the fragrance revealed its true beauty. The musk is what truly captivated me. It is not the sharp, sterile musk so common in modern perfumery. Instead, it feels airy yet cocooning. Fluffy. Feminine. Comforting in an almost melancholic way. Combined with the chamomile and rose, it creates something deeply intimate. A scent that hovers somewhere between skin, fabric and memory. This is not a perfume that demands attention from across a room. It does not seduce loudly. It lingers close, like a secret tenderness carried on soft fabric and warm skin. Eau Rose EDP does not smell like a rose fragrance to me. It smells like nostalgia wrapped in velvet.

I've had my Eau Rose EDP for almost a year now. It's the first perfume that made me fall in love with fragrance. For me, Eau Rose EDP is the best rose perfume out there. It is fresh, dewy, bright and deep simultaneously, youthful but mature (Dipyque really masters the complexity here), green but not too green. A beautiful fuschia-colored rose in a garden after a Spring rain. This truly is an experience to wear in the spring/summer. Works well in the winter too. Nothing can compare. It's comforting, invigorating, interesting. Superior quality. As for performance: This perfume's performance has doubled, maybe even tripled, in strength and projection since I purchased this a year ago. I sprayed this 3-4 times recently and it choked me out all day! Whereas when I first purchased it, I'd spray heavily routinely and it was much more subtle. I recommend 1 spray on clothes with 1-2 sprays on skin after this perfume macerates. Oddly, I think it performs better in slightly cooler temperatures as well. But I really have no complaints with its performance. It does perform better on clothes than my skin, but I have that issue with all perfumes. Receive compliments too so others can definitely smell it. I cannot recommend this fragrance enough. All rose lovers need this in their collections. And please don't confuse the EDP with EDT, drastically different fragrances. EDP only for me. Eau Rose EDT is a lighter, soapy, high-pitched rose without the complexity or richness of the EDP. If you're looking for a dupe of Eau Rose EDP, there's really not one on the market. And I would highly recommend buying the original based on the recycled rosewater that adds something unique to the fragrance - others won't be able to replicate that process. The closest alternative (and it's not really that close) I've been able to find that also has the rose dominance and fresh, bright, dewy, and deep facets of the rose is Infini Rose by Maison Alhambra (dupe for Atomic Rose), but Infini Rose varies in that it has subtle lactonic facets supporting the rose in the background with a heavy synthetic quality to it (also, it's not "green" at all, only rose). As someone who loves dupes, please understand that I would 1000% splurge on Eau Rose EDP because it is *that* good, and I will always have the original in my collection. For the quality, the price is appropriate I'd say. But again, this is like the Mona Lisa of rose here, for me.

Delicious! The yummiest juciest fresh rose, so fresh it's still on the bush. Spray this and you're strolling through a rose garden in the summertime in the chicest outfit you own, warm but not sweaty at all, hair still slightly damp from the shower, it's mid morning and the day and night lay ahead full of promise, but right now there's the rose garden and a flirty feeling and the idea of romance and a love letter tucked into your pocket. FRESH! Energetic! Youthful! But not youthful as in 'teenager in a drugstore body spray', this is youth as in the wide open feeling of potential and the innocence of excitement before it has become heavy with insecurity and disapointment. This is a rose untainted, full of hope, a true romantic, a dreamer. This isn't edgy, it's not making a statement, it's not self conscious. It's simply the fresh rose under the morning sun in a beautiful rose garden in a city park full of people enjoying themselves. This isn't a heavy rose perfume, it's not spicy or musky or ambery, there isn't the 'perfume' smell that people attribute to 'old lady' smells (nothing against those but just saying there's nothing of that here). It doesn't wrap you up, it doesn't fill a room, it's not a powerhouse. I wish it would last longer, and project a little further, but I carry this in my bag and respray whenever I need the burst of freshness. It's fleeting, it lingers for just long enough for you to fall in love and crave being around it. Is it expensive? Yes. I got a ex tester bottle for cheaper on ebay, but if I was unable to find a cheap one when this runs out I would pay full price for a bottle. Even with re-applying I'm still only using 4 or 5 sprays a day and I've hardly made a dent in the bottle in two months of it being an almost daily wear. Is it simple? Yes. This is simple in the way a gold ring or pearl earrings or buttered bread or a fresh strawberry or a perfectly cut silk shift dress is simple. Simple yet perfect. This for me is a forever spring/summer love.

An unexpected love. For the last few months, I’ve been so homesick. Homesick for a country I left half a lifetime ago, homesick for the touch of my mother, homesick for the soft, dense, green air of a village in springtime. I bought Eau Rose on a whim, frankly, not expecting to be moved by it, looking for that elusive rose that I wouldn’t find too laundry-clean, or too musky, or too piercingly fresh. I have (and love) Roses Vanille, but I was weary of the heady loukoum stickiness, and it was too polarizing for me to wear it to work. Chloe eau de parfum is a lovely rose, but on me all the soapy clean musks are turned up to 11 as soon as it’s warmer outside. Ballet Rose, Nude Rose, both charming I think in their simplicity, but they’re more of a shower-fresh typically North American ‘clean’ rose. So, why did I fall so much in love with Eau Rose? It’s rose, unmistakably, but it’s not linear, or ‘blocky’. It moves seamlessly through top, middle and base notes. The sillage still sings of fresh petals whilst close to the skin you experience sweetness, almost berry-like juiciness, and a woodiness that anchors it in the here and now. And there’s a green, fresh, crushed stem sappiness to it too. The scent left on your hands when you’ve been out cutting a few roses to bring inside, to set on a table, or in a window, to marvel at the ephemeral beauty. Something that makes it feel alive somehow, not like a Polaroid of a rose. It’s a rose, but at all of its stages. It’s the tight furled bud, giving little away but freshness; it’s the open rose, being heated by the sun, the kind of scent trail you follow around a garden until you find the source. And it’s the broken, blown petals of a rose one day past its prime, still sweet, but almost forlorn in its closeness to decay and death. Try it, before you buy it, because I’m sure it will not appeal to everyone, even the most ardent lover of roses. It doesn’t have the longest life, that’s for sure, but beauty can’t be made to last forever.

Eau Rose EDP is a naturalistic, dewy rose with verdant touches, capturing both a rose in bloom as well as a portion of its surrounding vegetation. This includes a charming chamomile note that accompanies the rose with a sense of softness and calm. Whereas L'Ombre dans L'Eau focuses on the greenery with floral notes dancing around its edges, Eau Rose reverses this and places the flower itself centre stage (although I will note the "green" notes are very different in the two fragrances and are more subdued and blended in Eau Rose). In comparison with Eau Rose EDT, the EDP is more herbal and richer, while less fruity and effervescent. I also perceive (and thoroughly enjoy) a subtle creaminess rippling on the periphery of the EDP. Both the EDT and EDP have sweetness, the former more so, however the EDP's sweetness seems to originate solely from the flower. This is in contrast with the more evident radiant sweetness from a brighter lychee in the EDT. I find Eau Rose EDP to be unique, elegant and, as usual with Diptyque fragrances, very natural smelling. I think it's certainly unisex and approachable by all floral lovers; it's not a powdery or dusty rose. Its longevity is undeniably greater than the EDT, perhaps 6-8 hours on me and even longer on clothing. I've smelled it sporadically across the span of an entire day of wear, although it does sit close to the skin by the end. It's certainly worth a sample if you're a lover of Eau Rose EDT, rose notes, and even Diptyque in general. I also wish to add and highlight that I contacted Diptyque and Eau Rose EDP will be a permanent addition to their fragrance line, so fear not. The current release floral design packaging is the limited part. Why did I reach out to Diptyque? Because Eau Rose EDP is a new favourite and potential staple in my collection. It may be for you too.

This is a review of the hair mist, edt, and edp. Hair mist: linear rose water with slight pepperiness. It doesn’t smell complex like the edt or edp. I wouldn’t purchase this again. Edt: It's a linear rose water scent. Weak and lasts about an hour until it disappears. The dry down is slightly aquatic and rose water smelling. Edp: OH MY. the most beautiful realistic rose and lychee perfume I have ever smelled. Most lychee perfumes miss the mark and doesn't smell anything like it. But Eau Rose EDP captures the lychee. It’s sweet, bright, a bit spicy, and perfect for spring and warmer weather. I was looking for a perfume that made you feel “cool” when it’s hot because I live in Hawaii and it’s usually warm-hot and humid, so most perfumes can be cloying and headache inducing. But diptyque’s eau rose is so beautiful. I thought I wouldn’t love it as much as the edt but after using it for 3 days before bed, I actually LOVE THIS MORE than the edt. It’s more rounded and complex. For background, I’m sensitive to strong perfumes so I stay away from edps. The top note is a sweet lychee, slightly peppery (I didn’t like this at first but it goes away). The bottom note is the main reason why I love edp over edt. For the bottom, I get more of the litchi/artichoke scent? It’s more green, calming, and a bit sweet compared to the edt’s aquatic dry down. I love to wear it after a shower and before bed. Another comment mentioned how it leans more feminine (I agree), but if a male used it, it would send shockwaves down my body and be a head spinner for me. I'd definitely want my guy to smell like this. Usually most floral and sweet perfumes have a dry down on me that smells screechy for florals (Gucci bloom), or dull creamy/playdoh note for sweet (eau duelle), but diptyque’s eau rose edp develops so lovely for each stage. And that’s worth the $230 for me. I can’t wait to purchase this bottle.

I remember branching out and asking for so many samples when I last visited the boutique back in like December of 2022. I was thankful to have a worker who was so willing to make all these handmade samples, labeling each plastic spray vial with a sharpie and covering it in tape so it doesn't wipe away from constant popping and locking. I do really take it for granted, that patience of theirs. Does wonders for my social anxiety. Eau Rose EDP and Eau Rose EDT were surprisingly different to me, despite my experience with Philosykos's EDP and EDT identities being incredibly similar, both on paper and on skin (besides longevity of course). While the EDT version was a short-lived fairy tale, opening the story with a citrus I didn't expect, I fell in love with the longer tale of the EDP, who was green, vegetal, yet fruity all the same. I was quite obsessed with the sample vial I had, constantly sniffing the lid once I ran out of the juice. It was so quickly gone that I thought about it over and over. When I did finally buy it, the magic had fizzled and I unfortunately grew bored of it. Maybe when summer comes around this could be a fruity refreshing choice. The litchi gives it an interesting fruity edge that reminds me of berries, but holds off from the tartness or greeness. The green comes from the interesting artichoke, which is really veggie like and bitter, sometimes off putting. Eau Rose EDP kind of makes me a little self conscious when I wear it because the first 30 minutes are just so not unisex on me, but I will definitely grow to embrace it. Scent 8/10, Longevity is actually decent with a 7/10, bottle 10/10 as always.

I've had this for about a year now. I have a total of 8 perfumes and this one is my favorite one by far. I absolutely love this one. This smells like rose, litchi but it also smells like a freshly cut rose stem and that's my favorite part of it. I'm absolutely addicted. To be completely clear, I would only buy the EDP one, not the EDT. I have a sample of the EDT and it does not hit the same way. It doesn't have the freshly cut stem scent in the EDT and that's the whole reason why I'm obsessed with the EDP. This one is also strong--1 spray is more than enough for me. It lasts the whole day so even though this is a little pricey for me, it's definitely worth the money. One time, I did 2 sprays and had to lock myself in a meeting room all day, I nearly knocked myself out. If I lost my entire collection for some reason, this one is the first one I would repurchase. Keep in mind I generally like florally powdery scents so it's not completely crazy that I like this. This didn't really speak to me when I first smelled it but I sprayed it on myself in the stores and when I got back home, I smelled amazing and I went nuts for the next month trying to figure out what it was. My bf said it smells like a grandma but I enjoy the scent so much I genuinely don't care and still wear it (it's not like it causes a headache for him or anything; he'll live. He got me another perfume that we both enjoy so I started to wear that one around him).

Another gem from Diptyque! Wow! I can’t say that I am the biggest fan of rose as it can be too mature and powdery. Also, I don’t like waxy nor nauseating synthetic type rose. This is incredible! It’s like walking through a rose garden after the rain, it’s bright, fresh, clean and oh so natural. In the opening you get the litchi but it’s not tart and sharp like in Delina, it’s smooth and buttery with a ever so slight sweetness. The rose follows swiftly with a slight greeness which is so smooth and mild. I hate green notes in perfumes as it’s too herbal and generally puts me off but this is smooth and calming like it’s blended to perfection with the chamomile. I have never encountered such a exquisite rose! Very sophisticated, gentle rose that is alluring and magical. The dry down reminds me of Delina exclusive but this is more delicate, natural and feminine. I absolutely love this perfume, it’s like you just received 4 freshly cut roses from the garden and the nectar inside is litchi. Really surprised by the offerings from this house and will continue to purchase more perfumes they are blended to perfection. For the price range these are truly gems. It melts into my skin and was like I smell like that naturally. I love that they don’t have that perfumey type smell. This is a light pink v neck satin dress with lace around the v. This is a freshly whipped rose soufflé.

Eau Rose Eau de Parfum by Diptyque is not the usual "grandmother's rose". Launched in 2022 with the creation of Fabrice Pellegrin. as an evolution of the Eau de Toilette of the same name, this version is deeper, denser and decidedly more contemporary. While the Eau de Toilette is light and dewy, the Eau de Parfum is a "retouched" rose with an almost bold vegetal contrast. The Litchi is not here to make the scent childish, but to give that aquatic and slightly acidic nuance that perfectly simulates the freshness of a freshly picked petal. This is where the magic happens. In addition to roses (Damascus and Grasse), the note of artichoke emerges. Don't be afraid: you won't smell like a vegetable garden. The artichoke gives a green, bitter and earthy nuance that "breaks" the sweetness of the flowers, making the fragrance sophisticated and less obvious. Chamomile adds an aromatic and relaxing touch. On drydown the musk emerges and the woods give structure, ensuring that the scent does not fade after an hour, but remains on the skin like a clean, woody embrace. It is the ideal perfume for those who love rose but are looking for something "intellectual". If you are looking for a sugary or hyper-feminine "candy" style rose, you might find the vegetal side of the artichoke a little too austere.

This is a magnificent rose scent, wow! Rose 🌹 here smells so natural, you instantly feel like you are being teleported into Bulgarian rose farm full of lush Damask roses. Nothing here smells synthetic or has any notes that pull attention away from the rose. I did not notice any artichoke or litchi or anything else in this scent. It smells just like an old garden rose. I sprayed it on me in one of the biggest rose parks in the UK (Mottisfont rose garden) and lots of rose lovers got confused by my fragrance🤪! So many people came to me saying they were trying to get to the nice smelling rose by following rose scent and their nose brought them to me. Don’t worry about it smelling old fashioned. It does not have old grandma qualities and it is not as intense as Poison. I would say it is a good perfume that lasts a couple hours and not overwhelming. It is really noticeable when you spray it and it doesn’t become a skin scent too quickly. I tried old rose by Diptique and their new addition. They smell the same to me. Love both. New one is a bit longer lasting because it is a perfume. I wish they were selling it in bigger bottles. 75ml is not enough.

The EDT of this is gorgeous, mind you. Fresh pink rose, a touch of dew, a gentle powder if you look for it. Theres nothing edgy about this — it’s pure, pink, garden rose with a hint of afternoon, not morning, dew. But it has no silage and lasts two hours on a good day. The EDP?! Wow. Kicks it up a notch. It lasts a good 6-8 hours, the rose is a little louder, but not nearly as loud or sweet as Delina. At all. It’s natural, subtle, and the artichoke note is just a green without being a leaf or a stem. It’s barely there, but it adds a photorealistic aura that not many roses capture. I love this for every season and every occasion. I wouldn’t wear it on my wedding day (I’d choose something sweeter and bolder like Delina), and frankly it feels too feminine and beautiful to wear to work. But brunch? A date? At home? With friends? It’s so subtle I’ve had people hug me and say “oh, THATS what smells so good!” If you love a rose subtler than Jo Malone Red Roses (which is very red and stem, also beautiful), a little more beautiful than Chloe which is definitely work-appropriate, this just might be your rose. For now, it’s mine, and I simply adore it.

I really enjoy the dry down of this fragrance on fabrics from afar. It is an aromatic rose that is neither dated/powdery nor immature/sugar-sweet. It is able to avoid the sour dry down of natural rose water, the main reason I have been steering away from rose. But smelling it close up, especially on my skin, I get a headache from something sharp and screechy in the middle note that I suspect is the chamomile. I also have the Eau Rose hair spray that smells much more natural and pleasant. My skin has a history of eating up certain notes and changing the perception of fragrances. I have tried a few Diptyque scents (Eau des Sens, Do Son, Eau de Peau, Duelle, L'Ombre Dans L'Eau) on my skin, and Duelle is the only one that smells natural. All the others either give me a headache or screech something artificial. Update Oct 2024: I am now in love with this crisp rose scent. I just cannot sniff at it closely right after applying. The combination of rose and chamomile is genius. It is sweet in a green way, not cloying or powdery, and rosy without being girlish. Longevity is superb and projection is at arm's length.

[09.10] Admittedly blind bought this really only to layer with my beloved Fleur De Peau EDP, but even this alone reinforces why Diptyque is one of my favorite houses ever – it is rose essence, embodied and explored to a high caliber. Its initial spray is very expected, but it quickly dries down into a very green almost vegetal, soft & comforting aroma, pushed even further with the presence of musk. The highlight to me however is the lychee, it gives the fragrance a sweet depth that's unexpected but works so well while incorporating all aforementioned facets. While it's not a new combination, I believe it is done to its best potential here. It also lasts a good while for its profile, and has that classic minimalism bottle & presentation from the house I've really come to love. Additionally, I have to say it is lowkey / highkey worth the price – though it is not "beastmode" like everybody wants these days, the artistry backs it up. It is a scent profile that I can comfortably say is well liked in this day and age, and is more unisex that people give it credit for. This will be on my mind for a while!

One of the most beautiful and natural smelling rose fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I’ve always leaned more towards gourmand notes, but this one really turned me on to floral perfumes I agree with the other commenters, it’s the most realistic rose, not like a bouquet from the flower shop but like a rose bush with the stem and leaves. And it’s definitely complex, but not in the way that requires 10 notes - this is definitely a rose perfume, and it does that job to perfection. The complexity of this perfume comes in the way it manages to be fresh and green, while giving off a musky essence which adds a heady and almost seductive quality to the scent. It reminds me of when you get out of a hot shower or jacuzzi with roses, the bathroom is full of steam, and you use a rose infused oil on your still-wet body. Sadly, it does have poor performance and for the price tag, I wish they’d have worked a bit to improve the longevity. I’m nearly finished with the bottle I bought around 5 months ago. Maybe they’ll come up with a more intense version but until the, I’ll be buying a new bottle twice a year 🤷♀️

Next to Tea Rose, this is definitely my second favorite Rose scent of All time! It smells wonderful like a fairy in a garden filled with fairytale Roses. Red Roses are fresh, wet with morning dew and have a little green of the leaves. The scent of Red Roses in Eau Rose is very natural, like an early morning after a rainy night, when you open the window, the moist breeze from the garden carries the scent of Roses and the smell of damp soil filling the room. I also smell a slight bitterness of the Chamomile and Artichoke, making the fragrance much more interesting. Longevity is good, about 6-7 hours still lingers on my skin, making me very satisfied. When I wear Eau Rose EDP, I imagine the scene of a foggy ancient town, with Red Rose gardens covered in morning dew. It's really beautiful, like Vibes in the “Twilight” movie, dark and dim, but with the addition of brilliant Red Roses that create the soul of that beautiful picture. Trust me, this is a fresh, delightful Gothic Rose. Rating: 100/10, love it forever

Quite literally the only rose-based fragrance I have ever liked, let alone loved. I don’t know what it is about them, but certain floral notes are just immediate no-gos for me. Typically, if even a hint of narcissus or rose is present in a fragrance it instantly turns me off. This one, however, is inexplicably fantastic. The scent pyramid really describes it well. It starts off with a strong lychee that blends wonderfully with the rose. I was shocked by how well these two notes worked together when I first smelled this. As it dries down, you get more of the soapy, green, natural rose with a touch of chamomile. I can’t really pick out the artichoke individually, but I imagine it and the rose water play key parts in stopping the rose in this from smelling too syrupy and immature. The final dry down is a nice, clean musk. While this leans feminine for sure, anyone could wear it! Would be so fun to smell this on a man. This scent probably excels in the spring, but you could absolutely wear it year-round.

This is the perfume that made me fall in love with rose fragrances. I used to be a rose hater, or rather I didn’t yet appreciate the beauty and complexity that rose has to offer in a fragrance when done right...of which Diptyque’s Eau Rose EDP is a perfect example. It is a photorealistic rose done with perfection. In pure Diptyque fashion, I can smell every facet of the rose intermingling in perfect harmony. One whiff of Eau Rose is like burying your nose in a rose bush on an early spring morning, sticky and watery dew drops glistening and dancing along the petals and leaves. Eau Rose EDP is the ultimate pure rose scent for rose lovers and skeptics alike. None of the dusty nuances that give rose the infamous old lady rep are present in this ode to rose from Diptyque. If you typically like freshies, white florals, or even fruity florals, but have trouble getting into rose fragrances...I urge you to try Eau Rose EDP. You won’t be disappointed.

The closest thing I can think to compare to Penhaligons Duchess Rose I have ever smelled. So soft and beautiful without being overwhelmingly sugary or sweet. Extremely expensive smelling (and actually expensive) feminine fragrance. Just learned what a soliflore fragrance is, and this is definitely one, but the additional notes of lychee, chamomile, and musky undertones help accentuate and elevate the rose fragrance so it smells like how roses smell in a dream. Soft, powdery, and smooth. Really nicely layered with Glossier You, makes the rose even more warm and powdery without being to much like a "grandma perfume" (which isn't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion but some people are adverse to it). Love this perfume will definitely be repurchasing when I run out :) their solid perfume containers are also SO cute and the refills are so affordable for people looking to try this out with low commitment!

Eau Rose EDP is a 'rose perfume' the way Jane Birkin wore a 'white t-shirt'. On my skin, it's sparklingly clear, fresh, and rosy in the opening, then quickly evolves to become deeper and more unique. It has an almost savory aspect that's captured by the artichoke and chamomile notes listed above. It doesn't get powdery or soapy or perfumey. And it lasts all day. I first tried this out a few months ago and I got a strange candied-citrus off it. Now that the weather is warmer, I don't get that at all & can actually smell the whole profile, so for me this is not a cold-weather scent. Eau Rose is more chic than I usually expect from such a rose-forward scent. I compared it side by side with Red Roses from Jo Malone, and it's definitely not as hyper-realistic as that one, which is good because I would feel self-conscious smelling of straight-up roses. I prefer the stylish complexity of Eau Rose.

This is my favorite. After months of research and testing it is the no.1 of my top 4 scents. I wanted a signature scent and I found it. I love the bright citrus opening. It just hits so fresh and lively right off the bat. The rose is open garden on a lazy spring day rose, not old lady stuffy parlor rose. It's strong but in a refreshing way; not smothering. The drydown is papery. It reminds me of books. Not musty old libraries, but a favorite book you're reading for the 10th time. I wanted a signature scent and this is me. Bright and enthusiastic, feminine and affectionate, nerdy and comforting. Like reading outside on a spring day. It gets a lot of criticism for being generic. I strongly disagree with that. There are a lot of other scents like this but none as good. Of the lemony rose soft category this is hands down the best. I tested over 60 similar rose perfumes. This Veatch them all!

I've been thinking about this perfume for awhile now and will probably buy a full bottle soon. I keep sampling it and every time I spend the day sniffing myself and thinking about how good it smells. It reminds me of Crabtree & Evelyn rose lotion that I used to smell a lot in the 90's because one of my friends would wear it all the time. It's just so pretty and yummy. I was looking for rose scent like it for awhile and it was surprisingly difficult to find something that just smells like pretty roses without a lot of other scents in there - not too musky or too sweet. I tried so many rose scents this past year. I also tried the EDT version of this thinking maybe I would like it better because I think it is more purely rose. But I think I actually do prefer the EDP. The EDT is not very strong and little too simple like a rosy body wash. I actually enjoy the EDP much more.

I went to the Diptyque shop to try L'Ombre Dans L'Eau but, sadly, it wasn't for me. I loved the story behind it, the packaging, but on my skin it didn't smell as what I thought it would. Then, the girl at the shop showed me Eau Rose EDP and that was exactly what I imagined L'Ombre Dans L'Eau to smell like! Eau Rose EDP reminds me of a beautiful castle surrounded by thorny rose bushes and a dark forest. It's what I imagine a classy vampire to smell like. Also, I feel like Sleeping Beauty would wear this. It smells mysterious, smooth, dark, elegant, clean and timeless. I don't typically enjoy the smell of roses, but this is such a natural and dewy smell that I couldn't help but fell in love! It's not red rose on my skin, but more of a purple/white one, and also dark green leaves, thorns and water surrounding it. It's very poetic!

I have to say I’m not usually a huge one for rose scents but this one has to be the best rose perfume I’ve tried! I like this so much I am very much considering getting a full size! 💕 It really smells like a fresh sweet plucked rose. There are some interesting fruity and tropical notes in the very background that create a little bit of complexity that is not obvious. There is a strong green note as well with the sweetness of the rose. I am happy to see this scent is a bit more unique as it’s not a powdery floral rose like most others I’ve smelled are. There is a sharpness from the fresh green notes and the sweetness is not at all sugary in any way. It’s very much a mature smelling photorealistic rose scent that I think would be a great addition to a rose lovers collection.

If Eau Rose EDT is the sunny sparkling rose you smell as you wander through a rose garden, the EDP is when you arrive there on a cloudier day as you bring a rose from one of the bushes to the nose and deeply inhale the soft scent of the petals. It’s realistic, soft, youthful, and sophisticated all at once; encapsulating the peak blooming of the rose before it inevitably wilts. I have tried almost every rose scent perfume there is (Delina, Dior, YSL, Penhaligons, Creed, Givenchy, MFK, Frederic Malle, Jo Malone, Byredo, Tom Ford, Fresh, the list goes on) and nothing else has been able to compare to the clean photorealistic experience of Diptyque. This perfume does not yell or demand you to listen to its notes, but gives you what it simply describes— the rose.

Finally tested this today and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner! The artichoke note scared me (as did some of the reviews) but this really is just a slightly more intense version of the EdT. It's more rose-forward but not overpoweringly so; it leans a little sweet and jammy as opposed to the EdT's rosewater-esque nature. Longevity on me is about the same for both (4~5 hours). I'll be honest... if I could turn back time I'd probably have bought this instead, even though at the time I was firmly on a rosewater quest - this is just THAT nice! Granted I've only tried it once, but a year or two from now when I've finished up the EdT, I'll go back to testing this more. I can see myself switching to this version instead.

Although this is targeted towards women, this is one of the only ones I really really liked when I went to their store for the first time. I’m waiting on getting myself a bottle as a dude and will be spraying tf out of it regardless if it’s a rose based fragrance. As the comment below me mentioned this is simply a rose water smelling fragrance the same rose water you get at the grocery store. I even sometimes add a shot of it to my morning lemonade so I know what rose water smells like and this in my opinion is copy paste to your local rose water only difference is this is a fragrance but you’ve definitely smelled this scent before. It’s beautiful, mood uplifting and just such a relaxing scent I love it.

Oh, no! A rose perfume that's so good and so clean! I bought this against the advice of several friends and advice columns. You can not wear florals!!! You can't wear rose scents! They cry, they lament! You are too young, and rose smells like OLD PEOPLE. Since I hate being told what to do, I bought it. A fantastic rose perfume, everything feels lovely and balanced. So sweet, so soft, so clean, so bright, so natural. Here I am studying in the library. I am a dignified lady. I am cool and chic. You promised me a rose garden, did you not? I don't think I will get a different rose perfume again. I will forever compare other rose scents to this gold standard. (I bought the EDT)

If I said it’s a mainstream smell there is truth to it If is said it’s different than other rose scents it’s also true One thing I’m definitely sure about it’s alot better than the edt What crazy about this fragrance is how it changes with time I believe them when they say it’s made of 3 kinds of rose since it’s not linear at all to me The lychee gives it a candy like sweetness that follows the rest of the notes while changing constantly What I wasn’t a fan off is the performance it’s airy in a way nothing bold or daring The quality is good for the brand I loved the 30ml bottle as well I hope they make other 30mls since it’s my favorite size

I genuinely think this perfume is a work of art. Like its name, it is the whole rose with a fresh, dewy, and natural smell. I especially love the chamomile in the EDP compared to the EDT as it smoothes out the smell. The overall vibe is calming and elegant. The EDT in contrast is brighter and slightly cleaner in my opinion. Another perfume I love, red roses by Jo Malone, often gets compared to this one, but I like this one more. Red Roses is more like the EDT— clean and citrusy. This is my new favorite and signature scent. My only complaint is the longevity on skin isn’t great— about 5 hours— but on clothes it lasts quite a long time.

Such a beautiful, juicy and dewy rose scent! Lasted amazingly on skin (~6hrs). Perfect to wear during the spring/summer. For anyone who's interested in trying this one out, this perfume has a dewy fruity and floral lingering scent. Though a lot of fruity floral scents share rose and lychee notes -- Eau Rose was crafted to be elegant and natural without being too sweet. P.S. Artichoke as a note sounds scary, it really only adds the slightest green/vegetal pivot in the scent which grounds and prevents it from becoming a one-note rose perfume. (This scent became an instant fave of mine)

I was wary about trying this scent because of the litchi note's sweetness and its potential to overpower the rose, but that was not the case at all. This is a perfectly delicate, photorealistic rose scent (if you’re familiar with any of the FRESH rose products, this is how it smells as a perfume) with an immediate drydown of litchi, followed by the leaves, stems, and thorns of a rose. A lot of rose perfumes have the tendency to smell grannyish but this one doesn't do that, so it's definitely more appropriate for public and office use.

This fragrance starts fresh and grassy like a real rose immediately cut out of the field, which is my favorite part of it. The rest is ROSE. Not fresh, not sweet. ROSE. I never opt for floral as a main note but this surprisingly conquered me. Nostalgic without being outdated, just clean and classic. Also, the artichoke is not overpowering for the ones who might take a step back because of it. In my opinion, it adds to the fresh earthy feeling. I would say this can even be wearable on a heatwave without many sprays.

Received as a free sample from Diptyque. I was scared at first, of the musk and rose as I’m super sensitive to musk and never like rose scents. I usually find rose to smell very mature. THIS IS NIOCE. No but seriously, this smells like natural rose water. I can smells the green from the artichoke and the soft chamomile in support. This starts off like a wet dewy pink rose garden. Then the litchi and wood notes are more prominent towards the dry down. This is a soft, natural and sweet rose fragrance. Very lovely.

So I have to come back to this. 1.5 years now with my Eau Rose EDP. Still the most comforting, beautiful scent I've encountered. Still the most artistic perfume I've ever smelled, period. This is the most profound expression of rose - the litchi, chamomile, artichoke gives it depth and uniqueness. I have tried so many rose perfumes at this point. To me, this truly belongs in a museum of sorts. It's just....the best. Hands down. Nothing else even comes close. I dare say this is the best of Diptyque.

Diptyque’s rose profiles always make me think of Christine Daae in Phantom of the opera. Eau Rose is Christine in her dressing room, surrounded by roses after her first lead at the opera. While L’ombre Dans L’Eau is her meeting with the Phantom. I do think the two aforementioned are quite similar, so don’t rush to blind buy this if you already own LDL. But it’s a beautiful light and fresh rose with that realistic green touch that Diptyque does so well. Not a bold statement, just peaceful elegance.

One my skin.... I repeat my skin, its TOY BOY! God this just proved again that toy boy is great and pretty close to niche for a designer. Love this. If I didn't have toy boy I would pick this up for me and Im a guy. This comes off a little brighter, like the contrast was turned up just a tad bit on the picture in comparison to toy boy on my skin. Milage may very. I bought toy boy 3.4oz/100ml for around $60 and this is $200, I feel like I got a good deal. But this is great in its own right.

I love rose scents and this is my favorite perfume EVER! I have never gotten so many compliments from men even celebrities. I feel like its a year round scent. I like this way better than the EDT. It is a green rose scent, very fresh. I feel like this is a safe blind buy it appeals to even non rose lovers. Can be worn day or night all year long. Lasts moderately long and has great performance, however I do spray throughout the night. Hands down most complimented perfume I have ever owned.

It's been really challenging to find a rose-centered perfume that I truly enjoy. I've tried several, like Portrait of a Lady, Rose of No Man's Land, Amado Mio, La Fille de Berlin, Lyric Woman, etc., but most of them give me headaches. However, this one is the most wearable rose scent I've found so far. While the sillage was not the best, it fulfilled the vision I was aiming for <3 the sweet lychee nectar note compliments and balances the cloying scent of rose so well.

Represents every acspect why rose is the queen. This perfume is elegant, feminine, graceful, romantic and seductive. It has depth and with herbal and woody notes is absolutely photorealistic. There is a breath-taking art of F. Pellegrin to create a scent which give us forgot that it is syntetic. This airy perfume smells like fresh, dewy roses - without doubts. I can only complain about longevity (3 hours top), projection is little stronger than intimate.

Such a beauty. An easy wear but so so beautiful and realistic. Reminds me of the imaginary scent from my childhood boiling up rose petals in a bucket. The artichoke note and stems keeps it green, dry and light. I will always own this perfume. Having recently acquired MKF's Oud Silk mood, its difficult to choose a winner. They are both beautiful soft masterpieces. The Oud in OSM giving it what the artichoke and stems gives to Eau Rose. LOVELOVELOVE

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. One of my favorite rose scents, and rose is one of my favorite notes in perfume. This rose isn't heavy and syrupy--it's light and ethereal, like soft petals and rosewater. It's also not crazy strong in the floral department, it has a greenness from chamomile, a playful fruity sweetness from lychee, and a nice, soft musk to round everything out. It's a bit woodsy in the base, and feels very uplifting, romantic, and chic!

Ooooh, the gods of Diptyque, thank you thank you thank you for upgrading Eau Rose into an EDP! I have many rose-centred fragrances, but this one might be the rosiest of them all. As soon as I use up the EDT version of Eau Rose, I will buy this new EDP, which is very strong, ever so slightly fruity, projects like mad and makes me feel like I'm standing in the middle of the largest and the most beautiful rose garden in the world. Just magical.

Love. Most rose scents give me a between the eyes headache and/or a feeling that the fragrance is too mature for me, but this is the most wearable rose-forward scent I've ever smelled. It smells like a dewy rose with sweetness from the litchi and grounding from the musk/woods. After spraying you get bright fresh rose, and it dries down to a sweet, musky, woody skin scent. Could be a signature scent it's so suitable for anything/anywhere

I discovered this on my quest to find an alternative to the discontinued Stella McCartney Stella EDP. The rose aspect is similar but with a herbal and green twist with the artichoke and chamomile. In true Diptyque fashion this is a unique twist on a classic accord and it is absolutely beautiful. An airy, breezy, elegant and bright rose with interest from the herbals. Full bottle worthy if you need a rose in your fragrance wardrobe.

New Fragrance Added to my #wishlist Eau Rose by Diptyque 🌹 The fragrance reminded me of a freshly cut rose with leaves and stem. Imagine walking into a rose garden in the morning and the rose petals are moist with morning dew drops, you delicately pick the rose and all you can smell is the fresh bright dewy rose along with the green smell of leaves and stem. That's what the fragrance smells like. So authentic and so natural!

I adore Diptyque fragrances, and this one is truly among my favorites. It’s a beautiful dewy rose. It is fresh, clean, and perfect for absolutely any occasion. I love how the scent stays soft and never overpowering, making it effortlessly elegant. As it dries down, it becomes gently powdery and soapy, like slipping into a rose‐scented bath. I’ll definitely be picking up a full bottle in Paris, along with Fleur de Peau Eau.

Upon the first spray this perfume transported me back to my childhood picking petals off of roses and macerating them between my fingertips. There is a wonderful peppery note in the opening that tempers off in the dry down. This is truly a photorealistic rose in a bottle. The sent profile reminded me of the tart, sweet rose of Delina without the heaviness of the incense. Eau Rose is more uplifting, fresh and revitalizing.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance. A really bright and uplifting, effervescent and beautiful realistic rose scent. One of the best rose fragrance I have smelled so far. Performance is surprisingly incredible too — 2 sprays only and it is radiating 5 feet away. In the drydown the lychee note becomes more prominent, the fragrance becomes a really pleasant fruity, juicy, sweet, rosy scent. Easily lasts for 10+ hours.

Lush, green opening with earthy soil undertones, the rose is full-bodied and dewy. Chamomile blossoms and tea leaves play in the background, offering mouth-watering honeyed notes and depth. The opening lasts 2-3 hours on me. The drydown is sweet and musky, not too dissimilar to Dedcool Milk, and lingers for another 5-6 hours. I truly have never smelled anything like it. What a poetic and gorgeous fragrance!
