Eau Rose by Diptyque is probably one of the most successful botanical portraits of recent years. It's not just a rose scent; it's the whole experience of a garden at dawn. Freshly sprayed, the Eau Rose does not impress with alcohol, but with an aquatic and fruity sensation. Lychee is the real star here: it adds that watery sweetness that perfectly imitates the smell of petals wet with dew. The blackcurrant and bergamot prevent it from becoming cloying, giving a burst of tart and green freshness. Unlike many "vintage" fragrances that smell of face powder or potpourri, here the Rose is vibrant and young. The addition of the Geranium is a masterful move: it serves to give that slightly spicy and "green" note typical of the stem and broken leaves. The jasmine remains in the background, giving body to the bouquet without stealing the scene. The ending is a whisper. White Honey does not make the perfume "edible", but adds a velvety texture, while Musk and Cedar guarantee a clean trail, almost like that of a linen shirt dried in the sun. Edit: welp... thank GOD I passed by a tester for Yardley's English Rose today, because it's literally indistinguishable from this. For a tenth of the price. I was gearing up to buy this within the next couple of weeks too... whew!!! Money saved 😅 - Have I done it? After years of searching, have I finally found my perfect rose water perfume?! Well, yes and no. When I sprayed this on I could've WEPT. I've wanted "the perfect" rose water perfume for YEARS, long before I even picked this up as a hobby! Everything I've tried is too rose-forward (what I want needs to be 50:50 aquatic/watery & rose), or too much extra clouding the composition (greenery, citrus, jasmine, etc...). Seeing the scent pyramid for this one had my hopes in the gutter, yet here I am! ... Well, the drawback, you may ask? That beautiful, fresh, aquatic, delicate rose opening all too soon (about 2 hours) gives way to the woody musk base notes, and it gets up my nose in the same disagreeable way most men's perfumes do. It's such a shame! Also, this and MFK L'eau A La Rose are surprisingly similar, except that one is more "perfume-y" and this feels more mellow, and dare I say realistic. This is a 9/10 for me; I have a handful more to test but if they're all a bust, I'm calling it a day and buying this one. ETA: yep, crowning this one as my winner!

This perfume wears like a gently blooming rose. It's a rose floral throughout and the scent slowly opens up over time, starting bright then becoming sweeter as it warms to the skin. On first spray, I catch musk underpinning the rose. It's a rosy skin-scent. There's citrus, but just a tad, and some type of spicy-floral that weirdly reminds me of carnations. After an hour, it turns sort of soapy, in the dreamiest, rosiest way imaginable. (I think that's the geranium.) It's soapy in a way that ever so slightly reminds me of rose water. And then, it continues developing. I catch whiffs of honey and wonder where in the world the scent is coming from (spoiler: it's me). It's now rose with a honey chamomile tea-like quality. All throughout, it remains rosy, light, and airy. So dreamy and wonderful, the type of perfume I imagine Sleeping Beauty would wear. Of course, the longevity is terrible. At this price point, I would've preferred something with more lasting power. So this beauty, unfortunately, remains a "special occasions" scent only for me. That said, I may splurge on the solid perfume as well. It really is such a well-crafted fragrance.

I first tried this in Mecca about a week ago after sampling Á La Rose by Maison Francis Kurkdijan for the uptempth time and still not being sure about it (À La Rose, that is.) I told the girls in Mecca that I was desperate to find a realistic smelling rose that was a sweet pink rose with no citrus and little to no woodiness in the base, since I hate anything that is strong or smells remotely masculine. Well, they were right... this smells just like pure rosewater distilled from the rose! It delighted me so much, since the queen of flowers reigns supreme in this perfume and none of the other notes take over. All I can smell other than that is a tiny bit of litchi at the top to make it smell not as simple and a bit more sweet, but that's it. I also smell a tiny bit of the musk here, but I don't mind musk at all. If you want a lovely and feminine smelling rose that smells like the floral and not disgusting potpourri, citrus or some woody masculine scent that would smell better on your boyfriend or husband, buy this! My search for the perfect rose scent is finally complete :)

So lovely and airy! First whiff and I immediately smell a soft, powdery blend of roses and litchi which remains when I first spray. The dry down it leaves a lovely spring-like romantic powdery, sublty musky sweet rose like scent. I haven't smelt anything like it, it's absolutely lovely to wear and it's become my everyday scent to wear to work. Like all Diptyque scents, after a while I can't smell it unless I press my nose right against the skin. However, that doesn't mean people can't smell you! I've gotten compliments from people walking behind me about smelling a nice airy floral notes on me and how uniquely clean I smell! Eau Rose is the perfect blend on clean, airy, powdery, and floral without being overbearing. It really is a "look, don't tell" kind of scent. I hear a lot of people compare this to rosewater, which I'd have to disagree immensely on. If you want a true rosewater scent, try Eau Triple Damask Rose by Officine Universelle! That is hands down the truest rosewater scent I've ever come across!

I first smelled this in February of 2022 at a Diptyque counter and I could not stop thinking about it. I bought the hair mist to test it couple months later (and also received a sample of the EDT and EDP in that order) and it only further cemented my love for this scent. I bought a full bottle of the EDT about a year ago and I can only say my love for this fragrance has only grown. There is something so youthful about this fragrance that I have yet to smell in any other rose perfumes; so many of which have a mature or vintage vibe to them. It checks off all the boxes for me. Sweet but not cloying at all, fun and elegant at the same time, and fresh and clean but still warm. I wear it to work, to bed, to weddings, on vacation, really anywhere. I had to force myself to not wear it in the cooler months, and nothing I wore during that time garnered the same amount of compliments as this one does. Diptyque's prices will always be my only gripe but for something that brings me so much joy it's worth it.

Imagine yourself walking into a garden full of roses, and they have JUST been watered. This is exactly this experience bottled in. This is a fresh floral, but not in the way you might think. The freshness Diptyque has designed isn't a green freshness, yet a fruity one. It delivers a sweet lychee opening that is kind on the nose and isn't overpowering. On the contrary, the fruitiness works with the floral scent of the rose, allowing the a unique experience for a rose fragrance. A lot of rose fragrances usually smells like Turkish colognes (NOT derogatory) but this one does not have that alcoholic opening. I layer this perfume with a sweeter fruity perfume on winter and during summer I leave it as it is. This perfume has a special place in my heart as my aunties call me "my rose smelling lamb" (It sounds sweeter in my language I promise) and this was the first rose perfume my friend enjoyed and she despises rose perfumes. So it is best friend approved, ladies and gentlemen!

I much prefer the EDP version of Eau Rose, but the EDT is also really nice. Eau Rose EDT is fresh, springy, and a little sweet. Diptyque knows roses, so of course it is a stellar rose scent. While I do not think that this is a true soliflore, it is a very evocative fragrance. Imagine you're in a well-tended rose garden on a sunny spring morning, and you bend to smell a freshly opened bright pink rose bloom. You can smell the crisp air, the dewy grass surrounding, and the green, thorny stem, but the voluptuous bloom is the star of course. This is a perfect rose fragrance for the rose lover in either concentration, to be honest. A+ composition, no notes or critique at all. Silage and performance are not beastly by any means, but someone who would really enjoy it would probably not want it to be nuclear anyway. I could get 6-7 hours of noticeable scent just by dabbing the sample on the skin.

Lately, I’ve come to the realization that rose is probably my favorite note in perfumery. so I’ve tried out different rose scents: Delina La Rosée, MFK’s À la Rose, Armani’s Pivoine Suzhou, and both the Eau Rose EDP and EDT. Ultimately, I decided to get this one. This really does smell like a realistic, fresh, dewy rose. sparkly and soft too. I think it's truly beautiful. I sprayed this around 5 PM, and it's now 11 PM, I've changed shirts and I can still smell it while writing this review. I used exactly 15 spritzes. Yes, I understand that 15 spritzes might sound crazy to some (it's really not), but if you're going to complain about a perfume’s longevity & claim that this specific one only lasts 10 seconds and you're not adjusting the number of sprays to suit the perfume then idk... it just sounds like misuse of the product. I mean, it’s literally a fresh EDT.

Before I tried Eau Rose edt I was convinced I didn’t like rose perfumes. I tried this in a store first on paper. Then had to get back to try it on the skin. And before I left the store I had already ordered a 2nd hand bottle. Ever since this has been my go to for rainy summer days. During the colder months this was a slightly green, airy rose with a hint of lichi. But during the warmer months I pick the lichi much stronger, maybe even more than the rose note. Anyway this is an airy, aquatic, fresh rose with a lot of juicy lichi. Really nice and easy reach even for someone who usually dislikes rose. But I have to say, I have also some other fruity rose scents on my wish list now. Thanks to Eau Rose I have discovered a whole new scent profile that I like!

I HATE florals. Let me start by saying that. When Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning hits my nose, I recoil like a salted slug. This scent, however, made me realize my issue might be with the number of floral notes, rather than the floral itself. Eau Rose is very simply: photorealistic rose. At most, a rose with raindrops on it, which is how I describe it to people. And I love it. I am a woody girl all the way through, and I was beginning to lose hope on there being any feminine-leaning scents I actually liked. This is the scent that proved me wrong. Because it's so simple, I think it's more unisex than it's given credit for — I think this would smell amazing on a guy, maybe layered with a sandalwood/cedar.

I have been debating this perfume for a while as I never liked pure rose. After some time, I retested it and kept the scent test in my purse. I started noticing lingering towards this scent until I realised I needed it. It isn’t a strong scent and it would hardly cause any headache, it stays close to skin and reminds me of a cold bath filled with rose petals. The roses aren’t offensive here either, more of a fresh cut bouquet with a bit of a lychee. If I to compare it to anything, the closest idea will be frosty roses that were just brought into the room after a cold winter. This perfume is a staple of a clean, fresh, a bit romantic flowery mood. Not sweet or burdensome in any way.

This is the most elite rose scent to ever grace my nostrils. It smells like rose bushes in a mid-day spring rain: fresh, dewy, with green leaves and a hint of sunshine filtering through. A natural, never-sugary sweetness balances the fragrance, while an airy freshness makes it feel alive and utterly uplifting. Wearing it is like walking through a secret rose garden in full bloom while someone next to you is eating lychee berries... pure serenity in a bottle. I am totally addicted to this fragrance. Tip: pairing it with L'Eau Papier from Diptyque elevates it to levels unknown; it becomes an irresistibly clean scent, think a luxury rose bubble-bath.

I am a big time lover of rose perfumes, and I believe they all fall into one the following three types: - English/garden rose which leans powdery, soapy or earthy. Not too sweet.Think Jo Malone Red Roses or Body Shop English Rose. - ‘Damask’ rose perfumes. Often teamed with oud, it’s giving sexy, smokey, Morrocan market. Think Initio Atomic Rose. - Finally, we have youthful, juicy rose which is where this perfume sits. This is a sweet and happy perfume in large thanks to the lychee note at the top. It reminds me of a rose & lychee martini. It’s super moorish but the longevity is not great on this which given its price point is disappointing.

I got the travel spray discovery set from Diptyque that you can create and add 5 perfumes yourself. This and L'eau Papier were the perfumes I was most excited to try. And I must say I love it a lot. It is such a clean, pure and fresh rose scent. Yes it smells kinda like rose water but I actually love that. I am very much a sucker for anything that smells like roses so this is amazing. I am gonna wear this a lot now since it is spring and perfect for that and maybe one day when the Travel spray is empty I will get a full bottle of the edt. I am curious now about how the edp smells and might try that one out in the future.

A watery, transparent rose scent. It has a nice tart quality to it that I enjoy. It is a very realistic and modern rose, it smells fresh and not at all cloying (like a powdery or soapy rose). Overall, an everyday spring and summer scent that makes me feel pretty. It doesn't last too long on my skin, but I can smell it all day on my clothes. I don't mind refreshing myself since the fragrance is so light it won't be overpowering by an accidental overspray. I didn't detect any lychee, but a better nose than mine may notice it. This is not a sweet perfume. It feels good to wear it in warmer weather.

My valentines self-gift arrived this morning lol! My thoughts as follows: Feminine and pretty packaging.....Open it up to reveal a simple bottle inside....,fluid has a slight yellow tinge....Take off the cap for a quick 'no spray' sniff.....Hippocampal activation - Chloe by Chloe's powdery clean laundryness goin on here.....Initial spray: fresh, rosey and understated - way more interesting than Chloe.....Time lapse..... resisting the urge to re-spray, as the dry down has left me with sweet musk which i love so much. Lasts just as long as many edp's i own. Very pretty! Very nice!

Found it today... spray it, sniff it and decide to buy it immediately. This is the kind of rose parfum that I love and can be easily wear anywhere. Most of rose parfum that I have is quite heavy and powdery and I prefer to use it at night time (example Narcisso for her and Kenzo L'absolute).... Try to find rose parfume that are more fresh and easy to wear is hard, I find most of rose parfume sometimes smells just like a rose tonic water... But Diptyque Eau rose is different, I can smell the rose water but more elegant, this fragrance makes me fell beautiful. Will repurchase it

An inherently beautiful rose scent, among the best for me. I am not typically a floral fan, but I couldn't help but fall in love with this rose. Reminds me of embracing your mother, who smells of rose water and honey. Very much an intimate scent, sitting close to the skin. Perfect if you are looking for fresh daytime realism, not so much a power projector. Not so long lasting, but works for me in an ephemeral sense, like being momentarily caught in a spring breeze as you walk by a rose bush. And as always with Diptyque, beautiful and thoughtful bottle design.

This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance. I’ve been interested in rose ever since I first tried Bvlgari’s Rose Goldea which smells very clean and fresh. I think I may actually prefer Eau rose. I see a lot of reviews saying that it’s quite boring and smells just like rose water, but it’s a lot more complex than it first seems. At least, for me, anyway. The fruity and tropical notes combined with the rose make it intoxicatingly delicious. It makes me feel really feminine and soft. I usually go for EDP but was giving an EDT sample. I hope to try the EDP too.

This is a sweet girlish rose. Fresh, young, dewy, like rose water. I like this so much. I am usually put off by rose scents and just associate them with dense, old-fashioned perfumes that my grandma used to wear. But this is just perfect for what it is, in my opinion. Even if it sits close to the skin, there are some perfumes that aren't meant to be beast mode all the time. Sometimes you just want a quiet scent that only you can smell. My one quibble with this is it doesn't last that long, but I wouldn't mind respraying it.

This scent is as fresh as the morning dew—ethereal, light, and realistic. Eau Rose is a rose perfume for those who thought they didn't like rose perfumes. To my nose, rose is often suffocating and overpowering in perfumes, but there is no danger of that in this fragrance. Eau Rose transports my mind to a summer evening, when I walk in a garden after the rain and smell the whole rose bushes: their delicate flowers, rain-damp leaves, and stems. By far the best rose scent I've ever tried. Simple but masterful.

I own this scent in the hair perfume, and it is INCREDIBLE! Can't speak for the price of a full bottle of the EDP/EDT, but it's reasonable as a hair perfume. Man, it's gorgeous gorgeous in my long blonde hair. Green ripe juicy rose, lasts all day and all night. I will be buying it forever! On wedding day 6/7/25 I paired with R.D.F's Chloe Sevigny Little Flower for a dewy juicy fruity rose bomb. Everyone complimented how good my orchid bouquet smelled... but it was the 2 scents I doused myself in!

This is just a gorgeous rose scent, meant for rose scent lovers. Sweet fresh roses are my favorite and this bottle is literally that. Floral, light, nothing fruity or gourmand. Literally just smells like a fresh cut rose on a cool spring morning. Very soft and feminine. It makes me picture dewy soft pink roses after a light rain on an overcast spring day. It is a soft romantic smell, something you’d spray on a frilly white dress. I’ll use this most in winter and spring, likely never in summer.

So beautiful! Fresh and romantic like a spring Rose garden around the meadow. The Rose is a bit sour but still perfectly beautiful, like the Dark Red Roses in the movie “Beauty and the Beast”. This is a great scent to start the day for Rose girls, it's a shame it doesn't last long. If Diptyque improved longevity, this would definitely be my favorite Rose scent. It's a pity that Eau Rose EDT doesn't last long, so I still prefer Eau Rose EDP. Rating: 8.5/10, not to be missed if you love Roses

sweet rose, not artificial smelling. Smells like rose water, it lingers around for a moderate time, as every Diptyque perfume. Some may find this sickening, there is nothing as special about it for non-rose lovers. If you love watery rose scents though, I'd recommend you check this out. This rose screams youth to me, its pure scent, simple yet appreciable. Eau rose would be the neice of L'Ombre dans in my opinion. This is something you could wear all year round, very versatile.

Eau Capitale's fresh-faced little sister -- the one I wear on weekends after having worn EC out to work, errands, happy hours, and general existence all week. Can't stop sniffing myself when I'm wearing it, but it does turn soapy after a while, which is unusual on my skin. Don't particularly mind, though. (For whatever it's worth, I wear the solid version of Eau Capitale because I'm frugal and like the portability, and I'm using a few collected sample vials of Eau Rose.)

A comforting, soft, woody, grown up, somewhat serious rose. You are in a library in an English country house with French doors that are open on to a rose garden. It's early autumn, there's a light drizzle & you've settled down with a scholarly book with a cup of fruit tea very slightly sweetened with a half teaspoon of honey which you will only discover at the bottom of the cup when you've finished it. Private, calming, thoughtful. Sadly short lived.

This is the most fresh rose scent I have ever encountered, aside from the real thing. This is a new, dewy and light rose, straightforward; great for spring wear. It is realistic and soft, without being heavy and overpowering. It doesn't necessarily last too long, but I don't mind respraying at all. Not everything needs to be beast mode! Noting that this review is for the EDT version. A new favorite that I will be upgrading to full size.

My all-time favorite rose. Fresh, aquatic, a little sweet and a little soapy. Photorealistic rosewater. I agree it's undemanding, but sometimes that's what I want out of a rose fragrance. This also makes it surprisingly versatile: I have worn this to work, on a date, when running errands, and to bed. This is an easy reach and a good comfort scent. I wish it lasted longer, but can't have it both ways, i.e. comfy-fresh and a bomb.

i love rose scents, but i felt i could never find one that smelled fun and cute until now. ive had le labo's rose, and it felt sad and heavy, so i wanted to stop wearing it in the warmer months. diptyque's rose is so uniquely fun, fresh, and cute that i've found myself still reaching for it at this point of the year even though i originally bought the bottle in the late spring/early summer. it has me smelling myself all day :D

I was not expecting to like this perfume as much as I do. I originally got this as a travel size sample set from Diptyque's website and have since gotten the full size of Eau Rose and Do Son. Eau Rose is a sparkling realistic rose that feels like stepping into a rose garden after its been drenched in rain. It smells so alive you can almost feel the rose petals. I didn't think I was a huge fresh rose fan until this.

Signature scent worthy. I love rose. I have always loved roses. This one is a nice watery rose. The Diptyque website says there is ambroxan and I get that eatery freshness. The kind you get wafts of throughout the day. The honey note adds some much needed sweetness. This is perfect for layering and I love how it smells in my hair after a let it down. Some layering: Ombré dans L’Eau, AmorAmor, Nemat Vanilla Musk.

This one was an instant love for me. Super fresh roses with the leaves and stem, dew, I get that slight honey note in the background. The geranium adds a lot of freshness. I’m transported to walking along a quiet road on a morning just after it’s rained, coming upon a rose garden and sticking my nose right inside of one. Fresh, green, sweet, very real rose. Definitely buying a full bottle of this one.

There's something about Diptque's formulations that always draw me in. I've been looking for a summer scent that's both juicy and fresh, and Eau Rose was the perfect match. I'm really picky about rose scents but the lychee note really develops this fragrance nicely. A lot of floral fragrances become too powdery or musky during the dry down, but Eau Rose stays juicy and fresh throughout.

Oh my goodness! Finally, after years of trying to find the perfect rose perfume that just smells of actual fresh roses, I have found it! The edt is waaay better than the edp for once, and it is now in my permanent collection. This smell makes me feel peaceful. If you're looking for a simple rose scent that smells like the rose oil you buy in India, the edt of this perfume is it.

Absolutely love this one, a fresh, bright, ever so slightly fruity rose fragrance that makes my heart sing. A very true rose (I don’t detect any other notes except a very mild, surprising but well blended juiciness. Like other reviewers have noted, it doesn’t last long and isn’t overpowering, but that’s part of its charm. A clean fragrance perfect for spring.

LOVE this amazing fresh, fruity, floral, musky scent. My only complaint it that I wished it lasted a little longer. The EDT smells more vibrant and fresh, whereas the EDP is stronger and richer and more musky. Both are incredible. Wish I spent a little more to get the EDP for the lasting power but I love the EDT and don't mind reapplying if needed!

at first smell its more citrusy and woody but settled down to a nice, fruity rose! its pretty light and airy and the longevity is decent (about 4-6h)! i agree it smells like rose water but you can definitely smell the fruit in there though ^.^ overall, 8.5/10! definitely recommend for rose lovers that prefer something light and fresh 💞

So far my favorite rose/litchi scent. It's bright and lasts forever on my skin (was initially concerned because it was an EDT). I love how fresh and bright this scent is. I hope to keep this scent in my collection forever. I can imagine wearing it as Mom. So friendly and inviting but sophisticated. (better then Delina in my opinion)

this smells like a mix of miss dior blooming bouquet and jo malone’s english pear and freesia. soapy, rosy, and fruity. smells elegant and fresh, i can see myself using this a lot. rose usually can come off either screechy or stanky to me, but eau rose’s rose is pretty light and approachable.

The freshest, cleanest rose perfume I've found to this date. I think it's easy for rose scents to be overly spicy or musky, and while there is a time and a place for sexier rose scents, I love the purity of this one. I'll probably buy the hair mist at the very least.

eau rose is the most beautiful rose i have ever come across... ethereal, fresh, misty, and gorgeous. the litchi/rose combination done right without overbearing sweetness or synthetic vibe. the only fragrance i have been enamored enough with to call my signature...

a rose true to the name! not overly jammy; just like sticking your face into a bouquet full of roses. more of a skin scent. can see this doing wonders in spring/summer! unfortunately doesn't have much longevity—maybe 3-4 hours at most. pretty daytime fragrance!

Eau Rose is the ultimate generic rose fragrance. Rose and lychee is a classic combo, and Diptyque beautifully mastered the duo. May be too strong and cause headaches for some, however. My personal favorite Diptyque scent. Won't buy again due to animal testing.

The best rose perfume ever. I'm glad they didn't overdo the litchi and let the rose shine thru in all its glory. Litchi is a perfect complement and doesn't overpower. Definitely one of my top 5 scents in 65 years Cant think of superlatives to do it justice.

Like the proverbial Delina but instead of a sweet litchi and vanilla overload it smells like a real rose bush with a hint of green and something almost vegetal in the background. It’s safe to say this is the best rose fragrance I’ve experienced so far.

I usually hate rose fragrances because they either smell outdated or like potpourri to me, but thiiis perfume is perfection. This is rose done right. To me it’s a soapy and fresh rose. It smells a lot more youthful than the typical rose perfume. :-)

Wonderful! A friend gifted this to me recently, and it is the rose perfume I've always dreamed of. I tend to dislike scents that are too floral/sweet or synthetic, so this light, green rose scent is perfect. Smells exactly like fresh-cut roses.
