Impossible Bouquet Eau Moheli

This is the same 'juice' as Eau Moheli, it's just a limited-edition bottle with green on the outside. Therefore, it is for women AND men, just as it was originally. Elegant, relaxing, easy to wear.

I blind bought this because of the cute greenish bottle, expecting something exotic and spicy based on the ylang-ylang and "Moheli". Turns out I was completely wrong. From the very first spray, it's mostly white and yellow florals straight to my nose, with a touch of sweetness and a subtle green nuance. There's also a soft, perfumey ginger note in the opening, but it quickly fades into an overwhelmingly floral scent. I don't get any incense, benzoin, vetiver, patchouli, or woody notes at all. Strangely, I can't really pick up the ylang-ylang on myself, but I can recognize it when I smell this fragrance on other people. To me, this is an extremely feminine tropical fragrance... floral, solar, and breezy. Not really my preference, but most of my friends, both men and women, seem to love it. Several of them have described it as smelling like an expensive luxury hotel soap.

I have the one in this shape bottle but without the green color. It’s the same thing though. I don’t buy a lot of perfume so I was really shopping for “the one” when I got this. My first impression was that it stood out from other Diptyque fragrances when I was smelling things in the store. I thought it smelled beautiful, like a summer day spent at the botanical gardens perhaps or a winter day in the hothouse. I think it’s a very feminine scent. Couldn’t imagine it on a man, unless of course they were a very feminine man. Sometimes the ginger and pepper do stand out slightly more than I’d like. That’s the main I dislike about an otherwise perfect scent. I really love the ylang ylang. I find it intoxicating and yet comforting with the subtle waxy character of ylang ylang. I think this will work in most seasons, except for maybe autumn.

People around me said I smell like flower field. Seems like they feel only flowers. I understand them, but if it’s flower field then only pastel pink florals and no greens. Bitter ginger start, then floral and more delicate. But then it smell very “dirty” for me. Scent is very warm, reminds me of warm summer day with with a little breeze. Small pinch of ginger but it perfectly blends with other notes. Flowers. Tiny pinch of paper makes the scent more interesting. Very close to skin. I see this scent on a man. Middle aged. Italy. Lemon trees around, straw hat, linen shirt and tan. For me it’s day time that slowly turns into evening. Not my cup of tea.
