Orphéon

So different from the EDP, that it should have been a flanker with its own suffix because a lot of people who don't vibe with the original are going to skip it without testing. This is a very easy wearing absolutely unisex daily driver, a very expensive white soap bar, with just a slight nod to the original Orpheon lost somewhere in the mid and drydown. And you should never delve into the notes because they are all made up. This smells nothing like L'Eau D'Issey or Energizer (??). What it bears a huge resemblance to (and feels like a less masculine version of) is Ex Nihilo's Speed Legends (which also smells like a very expensive white soap bar with a citrusy fresh opening). Diptique EDT just carries more of a floral character while Speed Legends focuses on the aromatic side (sage mostly) and a blackcurrant note. In the late drydown, it's got very faint similarities to the drydown of Elysium or TDH Eau Givree, and, as others pointed out, Wild Vetiver. Guess what all these have in common. Vetiver in the base. "Oh but Orpheon has cedar in the base" WELL IN THE END IT SMELLS LIKE SANITISED SOAPY WOODS, no matter if it's got cedar or vetiver or MDF in the listing. Anyway, if you have worn Speed Legends, 7 Cobalt, or any other more aromatic less ambery white soap bar thing, you already have a faint idea of what Orpheon EDT smells like. It's just closer to the feminine side, but still unisex leaning masc. Performance is very good for a fresh scent, doesn't scream but constructs a fresh aura around you for more than 6 hours. Great for the hotter days, price is very reasonable for what it offers. It gets a LOVE from me.

Fascinated by everyone’s takes on this (especially the dedicated EDP fans) because I never understood the Orpheon EDP hype & wasn’t a huge fan — so I agree that the EDT is wildly different, and I LOVE it. Bought a bottle today — I was sprayed with the EDT by a lovely employee in-store last week and couldn’t stop smelling my hand and the test strip for the rest of the day. It feels like they created this EDT to specifically cater to me, lol. What I didn’t love/get about the og EDP was akin to how it feels tasting a recipe that needs *something*, but you don’t know what. For me, the fix in both cases is a splash of citrus. The green mandarin & yuzu in this baby really changed my tune on juniper berry as a note, and give this a very fresh, green quality (my skin also tends to amplify green notes) that’s aromatic and addictive. Reminiscent of a gin & tonic. It has surprising longevity for an EDT (I wish my beloved Philosykos could say the same) and gives a nice scent bubble without too many sprays. On me, the cedar hangs around for a long time on the dry-down before fading to a whisper of soapy musk. I love love love her, and while they are decidedly different scents, my brain puts this in the category of Philosykos EDT in that they have a vibrant freshness to their openings and a clean-but-earthy dry down. For the other bi girlies whose gender presentation thru clothing changes from day to day: Philosykos is for my femme days, and Orpheus EDT leans more masc. Obsessed & can’t wait to put a big ol’ dent in this bottle!

compared to the EDP, the peppery juniper is much more tamed and approachable. most noticeable difference is the absence of that fluffy and fresh laundry scent i get with the tonka for something else that projects further and lasts longer than the EDP. the piercing jasmine is instead a stemmy green citrus rind that reminds me of cologne which makes this version lean masculine while the EDP leans feminine. something about the mix and strength of the juniper and tonka in the EDP will occasionally bring out a an ashy cigarette note while sequestering the jasmine in colder temps so i love wearing the EDP in the winter while keeping the EDT for spring. this is significantly different enough than the EDP to buy on its own but do not blind buy because the dry down depends on your skin chemistry. asst. manager let me try their store bottle and on them the citrus lingered but on me as someone who runs hot i probably burned through the citrus and was left with the cedar musky note that got compliments but i couldn't smell myself. i need more time with the base notes but this release is complex enough to warrant its own buy and possibly surpass the EDP based on its improved performance

A lighter and more playful take on its parent EDP. On first appearance notes of pink lemonade, candied yuzu and mandarin peels come to mind, reminiscent of Afternoon Swim and Pacific Chill by LV. Despite its sweetness this fragrance retains the essence of Orpheon EDP minus the thick, unrelenting juniper note and with added crispness thanks to its top notes. There is, however, still strong juniper presence which aligns with the Orpheon DNA. The bite of ginger and pepper in this fragrance become more apparent after the citrus bomb opening. This accord makes way for a warm and resinous dry-down with cedarwood that intertwines with muguet and musk notes beautifully. This is a great composition that is very unisex but may lean slightly masculine (to my nose). I can see this smelling "soapy" to a certain nose but it did not feel that way in my case. Performance is about what you'd expect from a Diptyque EDT but definitely not a let down. I got about 3-4 hours on my skin. Could be a safe blind buy if you're into sweeter scents but please be aware that it is very different than the EDP!

I was so shocked by how good this scent was the first time I tried it. I'd never really been impressed by any scents from the brand until Orpheon EDT. This scent single handedly sent me down the Diptyque rabbit hole and it's now one of my favourite brands, I had definitely been sleeping on it. This is a CRISP and dry summer scent. I mainly get yuzu and ginger and a bit of musk and woods in the background. The scent is linear and smells almost the same for the duration of the wear. In saying that, I do wish it lasted longer. I get about 5-6 hours from this and I go nose blind for most of it. Regardless, this is one of my favourite summer scents of all time. If I could compare it to anything scent wise, it would be LV L'Immensite (minus the migraines it gives me).

I am a fan of the original EDP and picked up a sample of the EDT the other day. My initial impression of the scent based on one wear, is that it's way different, especially in the opening, compared to the EDP. It is extremely citrusy. I'm sadly missing the powdery and juniper notes that I love in the original. I think it's just missing too much of what I really loved about the EDP. It's not a bad scent, but since I already own a bottle of the original, this is a pass. EDIT: 2 months later and I've bought the full bottle. I've gotten over the fact it's quite different than the EDP... but still love it. The addicting quality of the EDP is here too. Anyways, they are can be used in different occasions. Maybe I'll also try layering them.

A very pleasant, fresh and comfortable fragrance. It opens with bright citrus notes , quite juicy and slightly sparkling. Soon after, juniper berries appear, adding a light piney touch and a cool, slightly gin-like nuance. Because of this the scent feels very refreshing. To my nose there is also a subtle sweetness in the fragrance, although I can’t quite tell where it comes from. However, it gently softens the citrus notes, making them resemble citrus candy drops 🍬 The best part is that the fragrance is not sharp at all. Despite the fresh opening, it remains rather soft and rounded, very comfortable to wear. An absolute unisex in my opinion. It settles beautifully on both feminine and masculine skin 👌🏻

i think Orpheon EDT will remain a favorite of mine for a long time; it is just so gorgeous, so fresh and juicy at the opening, and the cedar dry down is amazing! i wore this one for my wedding and it is my first expensive perfume purchase! I agree with the most-voted notes. the opening is both green and citrus, very bright, with yuzu, juniper berry, and green mandarin. I also am very partial to wood scents, and the cedar is great here. the scent lasts a long time and the top notes and base notes meld well and there is a window of time where they are all detectable at once. i will admit i do not really smell the middle notes, but i don't care since this perfume is amazing as is.

A surprising love and I am not even into citrusy fragrances. But it projects and has a strong presence. I feel it has a very similar vibe to Barenia, though they smell different they share the scene: a posh vacation. It is an elevated freshie, very elegant and distinctive, but still young and better than Barenia. Cannot say how much it resembles the original, as I think I was anosmic to it, I tried it several times and could not understand much of it, somehow it eluded me. But from memory, I would say they share the same dna but this is more citrusy and bright, summery, while the original is more composed and serious. Super high class, love it!

Think of Orphéon EDT as the EDP’s breezy, more effervescent younger sibling. It’s lighter, fresher, and swaps the heavy drama for a crisp, citrusy punch. With its musky dry down and a tiny kick of spice, it smells like "expensive soap" in a cool jazz club. It’s the ultimate unisex safe bet—inoffensive enough for the office cubicle but chic enough to not be mundane. Whoever posted that this smells like gin and tonic, YES! Imagine a lemony, effervescent tonic with a bitter hint of juniper. I've been having fun layering this with Lazy Sunday Morning and Montale's Roses Musk. This one is a keeper.

Literally ran to the store the moment I heard it was in stock. Have it for 2 days now and I keep moving between loving it and having a slight issue with its lemon zestiness. But whenever I smell the juniper I love it again. Will need a moment to understand how I feel. It’s definitely interesting and similar to the edp if you smell it long enough. Update: after a couple of more days with this I realize it smells like a mix of Orpheon edp with Lazulio and Fleur de peau edt Update 2: took me a while but I get it now and it’s gorgeous. Changed from like to love!

I was fortunate enough to get a sample of this prior to it being announced, as my girlfriend got me another Diptyque from Nordstrom. She got 3 samples from the salesperson, and she gave me one. Like many others are saying, this fragrance is quite different from the edp, but in an amazing way. The opening is a nice citrus and floral blend, which dries down into a lighter floral, with a hint of cedar. It takes the original dna and makes something unique. Did not last more than 3 hours on me, but it is an edt. Definitely unisex.

This is SO GOOD! It's a brighter version of Orpheon and makes total sense they made the EDT version, like the precursor to the EDP. Often times the EDP gets darker and bolder, especially with Diptyque. (Look at Eau Duelle, Vetyvero, Tam Dao, etc.) The EDT has the same DNA as the EDP but it's much lighter, citrus forward and fresh. There is something in the EDP that is headache inducing and I ended up returning the scent where I bought it because I simply couldn't wear it. Not the case here with the EDT, it's perfection.

Disclaimer that I have not tried the original EDP so cannot compare, but when I saw the recent hype around the release of the EDT - and being a sucker for yuzu - I purchased a decant of this to try. I don’t always love citrus perfumes as they can be too pinesol-cleaner smelling to me, but this is balanced well with the other wood, floral, and spice notes. I’m not sure it’s unique enough for me to warrant a FSB purchase for the price, but I am very much enjoying this as a bright, spring, truly-unisex scent!

This is a love at first sniff for me which doesn't happen often! They really retained the DNA of the edp while brightening it up for the edt. It's like they turned on the lights at (Orphéon) the bar! I haven't smelled it in years, but this sort of reminds me of what I remember Ralph Lauren Romance (the original edp) smells like. I looked up the notes and they have several similar notes so I guess that's not too crazy of a connection. This is perhaps a more aromatic/masculine version of that.

Never was a fan of the original EDP, as it’s just not my style, so wasn’t expecting much. But this was an instant full bottle buy for me! This has the typical fizzy citrus quality I’ve found in other Diptyque fragrances like Vetyverio and the juniper adds a lovely cooling (almost minty?) quality which is stunning. I’m surprised to see that most find the rose note undetectable as this has very noticeable floral heart to me. Looking forward to wearing this in warmer weather.

I got this in a couple days ago. I layered it with escentric molecules 01 to test it out while on vacation. Got first compliment at front desk while checking in. Was told by desk clerk that I smell good. Later that day while getting ready to head out, a group of women in elevator complimented me for smelling soo good. I don't usually get complimented much on fragrances but this one was really getting me attention. Crazy thing was that I couldn't even smell myself

Ahhhhh Now THIS is an Orpheon I can get on board with! I did not have high hopes for this as I am not a fan of the EDP. But I received a sample of this at Nordstrom last night and decided I would give it a go since today is a scorcher outside. The notes here are the epitome of steamy weather friendly. This is a stunning and unique juicy, sparkling citrus like nothing else I have in my collection. Full bottle already on the way!

The warm weather sister to the It Girl cult classic has arrived. The citrusy top really lingers for over an hour and finally I was met with the familiar spa like vibes of the woody and juniper accord. I didn’t get much of the rose but I look forward to a full bottle and being a spring staple. I am so pleasantly surprised that I can still smell this after an in store test over 6 hours ago. Impressive for EDT!

This fragrance is so rich, full, and bright. It always lifts my mood, at the same makes me feel confident and relaxed. i'd like to wear this on a sunny city festival day outdoors. it also has some sunday brunch vibes. the citrus is really crisp and sparkling. the magnolia in the middle blooms like a fresh magnolia in the summer. the base notes hold it all together so well.

This loses a bit of that earthiness the edp has and goes much brighter with the citrus. If the edp is best for fall this one would be the easy spring summer option. Overall scent is kinda luxurious clean-soap. Probably don’t need both unless you are a big fan of the same profile and want ‘Orpheon’ is a year-round signature scent.

Juicy, fresh, green citrus and juniper. This is a beautiful, clear, zesty fragrance that I'll be wearing all spring and summer. A hint of gin & tonic and the barest brush of rose over a crisp, piney musk base (I haven't tried the original EDP although am now very eager to find myself a sample!)

A blast of Mandarin at top , with white musky super light powdery background. The florals feel is there with touch of rose. It does evoke the feeling of a fine wellbeing center , being at the reception sipping a detox water. Freshness in Tranquil way. will retry it for sure.

This smells like a fairy floating around in a Yuzu grove. It’s a fresh green and clean/ soapy yuzu scent. The pink pepper is also there throughout the wear. This is going to be perfect for hot climate like TX where it gets to 100+ degrees.

The new EDT is exactly what I always wanted the EDP to be like. It has a divine, tart juniper berry note, slightly citrusy but not overpowering. On me, the overall impression is a bit tea-like, and it’s definitely a summer fragrance.

This scent will improve 200% in high dry heat “especially in the arabian peninsula”. And it reminds me of Guerlain homme edp, it’s my new favorite from diptyque.. if you liked fleur de peau, this would work for you.

Will same the same as the previous review - the more I test it, the more I love it. Green sweetness, if I had to describe for me it reminds me of smell of grape leaves in the sunny but humid day.

A very pleasant, citrus-forward take on Orpheon. I loved the original, and I love this one as well. This one is slightly soapier and fresher, like Orpheon just hopped out of the shower.

Like the EdP, pulls very rosy on me, which balances out the slightly masculine vibe this is giving. I agree that this is a brighter version but of the EdP, perfect for warmer days.

absolutely amazing. Despite a lot of people saying it's nothing like the perfume version I can personally really sense that classical orpheon dna in it. just fresher and cleaner.

1930’s Côte d’Azur. Lemon groves. Umbrella pines that meet the Mediterranean over rocky coves. Sparkling gin cocktails that fizz in your nose. A single fragrant yellow rose.

This was a successful blind buy. A refreshing summer scent like a glass of pink lemonade. Not masculine at all, but a well done unisex fragrance.

I find it more similar to Lazulio than to Orpheón EDP. I love it, though! I’m just waiting for them to release a 50 ml bottle to get one.

A different cat yes, but the shared dna with the EDP is very apparent in the mid to dry down stage. Glorious spunky spring Orpheon.

My god this citrus is stunning

Last year I was gifted a bottle of the original Orpheon EDP by a young lady I was dating. Earlier in the year she purchased a discovery set and truthfully for myself, on my skin my nose gravitated to Diptyque's renowned fig heavy Philosykos. I enjoyed Orpheon but didn't love it, but she did. She really loved it on me. Needless to say that small sample was quickly used up. A tragic loss especially because at the time I was selling books and screen printing t-shirts, neither of which were necessarily facilitating Orpheon EDP bottle money... But fear not, rich girlfriends rarely like admitting they're the "rich girlfriend" but they also really like getting what they want... She wanted me in Orpheon EDP so I got a bottle. Score 1 for me. Funny story aside I did really love this girl at the time and we didn't end on bad terms so Orpheon EDP is still very much a favorite of mine; so it shouldn't come as a suprise how excited I was to try out the new Orpheon EDT. First and foremost, Orpheon EDT is EXACTLY what you're expecting. Take the classic Orpheon DNA remove that powdery velvety background and replace it with a fresh and refreshing citrus. The citrus here reminds me of Issey Miyakes ' L'eau D'Issey albeit if composed with considerably higher quality ingredients. Orpheon EDT is an incredible hot weather fragrance that at no point of wearing has gotten cloying or suffocating, it's ability to retain that classic Orpheon DNA but still work in hotter weather really is quite amazing. But, there's always a but, the EDT formulation here is certainly much more generic and "body gel" leaning. This absolutely does NOT mean that Orpheon EDT smells cheap, Orpheon EDT smells like its price tag. Naturally with this formulation being an EDT it will have less longevity than it's EDP predecessor but the longevity here is great. I got an easy 8-9 hours of wear out of Orpheon EDT on skin and my clothes still hold the scent 12 hours later. Also with this being an EDT the fragrance is a bit punchier, Orpheon EDP is a fragrance with good projection and sillage but the EDT performs even better in my experience. Orpheon EDT is not "nuclear" like a Megamare or Atlas but you'll certainly make your presence known and even better at no point did I go nose blind. Orpheon EDT is a beautiful fragrance, and it's an amazing choice for summer and spring days. It smells incredibly well crafted and high end, I instantly imagine that as of now this would be my first choice for any summer weddings I may need to attend. But it just lacks that magical quality of Orpheon EDP to me. Orpheon EDP was formulated as a tribute to the beloved jazz bar which closed during the 2020 lockdowns that sat next door to Diptyque's flagship store. This is a fragrance that was made with love and to tell a story, which it very much did and I believe it shows. So it's no suprise that Diptyque would want to celebrate that, and profit, from Orpheon EDP's success and love by creating a hot weather friendly EDT interpretation. Honestly, they did a great job but ultimately it's a flanker. Sometimes a flanker can outshine the original, it has happened but this isn't one of those cases. Ultimately, the Orpheon DNA is a beautiful thing and while lacking some of the original Orpheon EDP magic this is a GREAT hot weather fragrance that I think anyone would enjoy wearing on a summer day. - 9/10 - Summer, Spring. Daytime. - Location/Situation: Vancouver, Canada, July, 7PM... Summer time. Vacation. BBQ. Fireworks. A clean white t-shirt. A pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Orphéon EDP already holds a special place in my heart, and living in humidity only means I was extremely ready, practically on the edge of my seat for this. And the people are right in the sense the EDT is different, yes, but not in the dramatic way some people are making it sound. It is still very recognisably Orphéon. Just take the original DNA, strip away the powdery velvety backdrop, and in its place pour a brisk citrus accord. If the EDP were a moody Parisian bar frequenter with powder on her cuffs and lipstick on the rim of the glass, you can only imagine this is the younger, brisker her. To prime any new noses to the Orpheon DNA, the EDT is something like a bitter juniper tonic set down on a cedar counter, across from a beautiful enigmatic woman who smells faintly of magnolia, maybe a spritz of dashing cologne. It's as though you can still smell her cold bath in her, luxurious body soap of frighteningly good taste. The yuzu here is not juicy or pulpy but more savoury, herbaceous and textured. The ginger gives it a slightly spicy warmth, while juniper and peppercorn sharpen the outline. A crisp, taut, and faintly tonic-like but not bubbly citrus. Under that, you do get the flowers and woods. Dewy miscellaneous petals, waxy green leaves, smooth cedar, only folded into the composition more cleanly and transparently. The drydown is where it settles into itself and becomes more quiet. A clean, smooth, elegant, musky-soapy skin-scent way. Not hollow. Not just breezy. It still has warmth underneath the coolness, which is what keeps it from becoming generic citrus-clean. If the EDP wears like buttery suede lined with quilted powdery cashmere, the EDT is an immaculate camel wool trench over tactile silk that somehow wicks away the weather and your bad decisions. Same woman. Different hour. Just as chic.

Wearing this for a week + comparing to my bottle of Orpheon EDP, I've gathered my thoughts on this. It is NOT remotely the same fragrance, do not be fooled. The first spray is a strong citrusy fresh scent with some juniper in there somewhere. After trying the original EDP, for some reason I'm getting some green in this, like the citrus is more like orange tree leaves rather than the fruit itself. It's very prominent compared to when I sprayed it on paper where I was still able to get a notable juniper smell. It continues to be very citrusy up until the end, but it progressively gets creamier, almost like a lotion smell. My anthropomorphized image of this fragrance is a cheerful androgynous person in a sophisticated thin white dress shirt & black trousers. Their clothing has lilac purple accents such as a pocket napkin & a thin neck scarf. They're in a well-lit castle room, rays of sunlight shining through the windows in the summer on midday, skipping around the potted flowers around the room.

fresh, clean, and intriguing. this was my first proper diptyque wear and it really surprised me. the opening green mandarin is stunning. not bright or juicy, but slightly savoury, almost like a lemon granita. i think this is the kind of citrus i can actually enjoy: dry, structured, and textural rather than sparkling. as it settles, i get a soft, translucent floral heart. a hint of rose peeking behind ginger and magnolia. nothing here feels obvious or loud, everything is blended and slightly out of reach. the drydown leans cedar, the musk is quiet, with a subtle juniper sharpness that gives a faint piney, almost barbershop feel. it becomes soft, clean, and slightly masculine. very polished, and a little dry. overall i really like this. it feels refined, airy, and elegant, but without sandalwood, which i tend to gravitate towards, it doesn’t fully feel like me. i won’t be buying a full bottle, but i’ll happily enjoy and appreciate my 7.5ml tester 🍊

I really, really like this, much more than Orpheon EDP. The EDT is bright, citrusy, and slightly green and floraly. It's a happier fragrance when compared to the EDP. I also find it 50/50 unisex, unlike the EDP which leans slightly more feminine. To my nose, this smells nothing like Imagination, Tygar, Vibrato, or any of the other super popular male freshies out there...the yuzu and floral notes absolutely makes it stand out. If anything, it's kind of like a less soapy and rosey Wild Vetiver from Creed. Upon dry down, you do get more cedar and musk peeking through, but the fragrance remains bright and unisex. Very good job by Diptyque, and I will be adding this to my summer rotation. 8.7/10

Oh, this is pleasant! The opening reminds me of playing in the forest as a child. Like the scent of a bush right after fresh rain. It feels green, airy, and almost dewy. As it develops, it becomes much sunnier and brighter. The citrus isn’t sharp or “cleaning product”-like; it smells natural, soft, and really well blended. I think this is truly unisex as well. It wears warmer on my skin than on my boyfriend’s, which I prefer. It gives it a slightly more comforting, golden feel on me. On my boyfriend it smells more generic and sharp. All in all, I like it! It’s nothing particularly special, but I still look forward to using up my sample.

I think that Orpheon EDT fits in the line very well. This is pretty much what I imagined a light Orpheon to smell like. Fresh & Energetic. Though I very much love the original EDP more, the EDT embodies all the bright top notes from the original. The top notes of Juniper with the added yuzu and orange make Orpheon EDT very bright and fresh, and a tinge herbal. It stays relatively neutral and not much sweetness. The aromatic powdery-detergent-esque base, which can come off a bit thick in the EDP has simmered down in the EDT, almost non-existent. It's good (like, but not a love) and an easy reach. But still love the EDP more. 7/10.

I tried the Orpheon EDT recently. I agree with others that it is quite different from the EDP - the EDP is powdery and floral (I don't get much wood on my skin); it leans feminine. The EDT opens with bright citrus notes and dries down to a woodier scent - it smells more masculine to me, but is definitely unisex. I loved the opening, but need to try again to see how I feel about the dry down. The EDT lasts a long time on clothes and lasts several hours on skin. I think this might be my next buy from Diptyque!

I got a sample of this after the perfume sales clerk told me this was a new release that people were excited about; and I was honestly surprised when I smelled it bc it really is so different from the eau de parfum. very much citrus and spice that I really feel like would end up smelling christmas-y mulled wine vibes if it was any sweeter. i think this smells sophisticated though, makes me feel like I'm in a fancy restaurant. it dries down soapy and spicy on my skin.

(I received a free sample of the edt from Diptyque) This is bright, fresh, soapy, and unisex. I get quite a bit of citrus, but nothing sharp or astringent. It's a bit powdery with a hint of soft floral magnolia. The issue I have with this is the same I have with many clean, fresh niche fragrances-- it's not a unique DNA, and therefore I'd be hard pressed to spend the asking price on it. But it is lovely and I can't see anyone disliking it.

The EDT feels like the EDP’s spicier, younger sister. She’s more of a free spirit—airier, fizzier, with a brighter lift. I enjoy both, and they fill different moods: the EDP is smoother and more refined, while the EDT brings extra sparkle and bite. They’re clearly related, but distinct enough that owning both wouldn't feel redundant. Edit: this goes a little cleaning product on me.
