Tam Dao Eau de Parfum

This was my first ever diptyque perfume. i had minor negative associations with this brand because my ex boyfriend always talked about the tubereuse candle back in 2021. years later, the day before my birthday, i went to a department store with my best friend. The first floor is where one can find perfumes, so i decided to try some stuff out. after trying some synthetic screechy musks from MFK and citrusy colognes from acqua di parma, i found the diptyque stand. decorated beautifully, i was reminded of the candles. i never knew they made perfume, so i tried all of them excitedly. i was stunned, but especially taken with tam dao and fleur de peau. Tam dao smelled so special to me: exactly like my memory of a Pecksniff's re-covery candle my friend gifted me in 2019. I was sad because that candle was discontinued, so finding it in a perfume bottle on a fateful night was a very exciting moment to me. I spray some tam dao on my right wrist and fleur de peau on my left wrist. In love with both, i could not decide which one i prefered. but i was certain that i would get one. fleur de peau smelled like dust and grandma clothes, tam dao smelled creamy and sauna like. My friend told me she preferred tam dao, so i got that one. Never in my life have i regretted anything less. tam dao is a beautiful sandalwood focused perfume without ever being boring or simple. i feel like the people who call this simple havent sniffed it enough. This starts off with a creamy soft meditative sandalwood immediately. No darkness, no dryness, no pickleyness, no heaviness. something ethereal and powdery. like ground up sandalwood that is about to become incense. its not wet nor dry, its a freshly made powder that is still full of fragrant oils. Then there is this medicinal aspect of ginger without adding any sharp zingy freshness, something that calms you down and makes you feel at ease. From my experience, ginger in perfume smells nothing like real ginger. it always smells aquatic and sharp, but this is not that. It is like ginger without the citrusy nuances. maybe this note is more similar to galangal actually. the incense-milk-cream-powder like sandalwood + calming ginger/galangal already sounds like a perfect combination. the rest of the notes feel more like supports really. The lime isnt juicy or fruity, its green and continues to add something calming and medicinal. the coriander isnt spicy or savoury, it is once again, medicinal and almost camphor like (which is short lived). the vanilla adds a bit of depth to the sandalwood without EVER taking over. the vanilla in here is never detectable, it has been blended perfectly to make the sandalwood more milky. The cedar adds obvious woodiness and maybe contributes to a more realistic sandalwood, but i dont find this to smell like pencil shavings or tv-static. i dont know if they use iso e super or real cedar but it definitely doesnt smell dry. only on certain occastions when i actively sniff really hard does a hint of dryness hit my nose. but thats not a bad thing nor does it ruin anything. the musk serves as a base and not as a base note. its not like this all dries down and all ur left with is some boring musk. i think it lends itself to all other aspects of this scent. As someone who is extremely sensitive to amberwoods in almost all perfumes ive tried, i must say that its blended exceptionally well in here. it doesnt feel screechy or typical or perfumey or like anything most of those amberwood overdose perfumes do. Its probably also used as a base. maybe amberwoods was never even the problem .... im guessing most perfumers just overdose it And dont let others fool you, this definitely develops and lasts a long time. unsure about sillage but it definitely lasts days on clothes and a full day on body. the issue is that i personally go noseblind to this very easily, which means i wont be able to smell it for a while after spraying. this is the case w many diptyque perfumes: long lasting but anosmia inducing. I do know, however, that it lasts long because i was able to smell it 9 hours after wearing without losing any of its character or drying down into nothingness. when i put this on before bed, the next morning i will be woken up by the most calming and meditative smell ever. when i spray it on clothes, it can last for over a week. Idk if this is a good or bad thing to me, because this is one of those scents that i wish to be able to experience 24/7. the development is creamy sandalwood with medicinal herbal aspects > creamy incense sandalwood with medicinal aspects and powdery warmth > soapier sandalwood incense with galangal and powdery warmth. okay, not very complex, but still. dont get a perfume thats all about sandalwood if you want it to keep changing into something else. In the end, a clear 10/10 for me. This works in summer too, which is rare for a sandalwood centric scent. someone else mentioned rivers and stone temples, and i imagine the same thing. dappled shade, incense burning, solemn meditation, sun but also fog, sound of clear waters flowing, jade colored mountains, clean air, 17 degrees, birds, peonies in bloom. i wear this each time before i take an exam. perfectly unisex, never feminine or masculine

This is an interesting one, for very personal reasons. My paternal grandmother's house in the early 2000s was very beautiful. She was definitely a...maximalist, I'd say—though I think the professional term is "hoarder"— but I'll be damned if she didn't have a keen eye for decoration, and the house was kept very clean. I spent a lot of time with her and in her house as a little girl, so I had consistently had a room on the ground floor with a nice bathroom, but favorite grandkid or not I was still banished to sleep in the basement with all the other kids during the larger family gatherings. The bathroom in the basement was considerably less nice; no amount of fancy décor could mask that the house was very old and quite run-down, so the entire bottom floor and the bathroom especially was perpetually damp, much to my cousins' and I's chagrin. But there was a TV down there too so it was whatever. I remember I always hated using that bathroom. Thinking about it now, that bathroom likely started my lifelong "Thing" I have about not feeling like I'm actually clean until I'm dry, which has likely, over the course of my life, lead to a disproportionately high per-capita amount of trees felled for the mountains of paper towels I use up every time I wash my hands in a public restroom. I'll be lumped in with Bezos and Swift and the other climate terrorists when the class war breaks out: "Many years later, as she faced the firing squad, Colonel UserID Cloudfruit was to remember that distant afternoon when her father took her to discover that dusty ass musty ass basement bathroom..." Anyways, Tam Dao smells like that bathroom. The scent of Korean cleaning products masking stale air and mildew is one I was very familiar with at one point in my life, and one I despised. It follows that I hate this, right? I mean, it smells, to put it simply, bad. Rank. Moldy. Etc. But as you might have guessed if anyone has actually read this psychotic, unhinged apery of a "review" that would've gotten me permanently banned for topic derailment on any other respectable website, I am really quite fond of Tam Dao. It has taken me back to a place I have been many times before, a place I never liked being but right now at this very moment I'd give you everything I own to be there again. I really miss that dusty ass musty ass bathroom. It was my grandma's dusty ass musty ass bathroom. So this perfume, rank as it is, has sentimental value to me, and now every time I smell it I will think of and be closer to Marie, whom I love and miss dearly. Here's to you, Tam Dao, for bringing her to me, though I could do with just Marie, I'll gladly take the package deal: Marie AND her smelly ass bathroom. Geonbae.

I wish I didn't love this. I wish I didn't have to spend so much f*cking money in this. But I am also grateful that I found this fragrance. I love it, that's it. In my opinion its a masculine fragrance as it smells as dry woods, not unsweetened peanut butter, but creamy sandalwood and cedar in the drydown. What encre noire failed to deliver to me, this does it perfectly. It's not an attention grabber, but a very magnetic, attractive and inviting fragrance. Much better with a jacket in cold weather than in warm or hot weather. Difference of perception is abysmal and I wouldn't advise to use it in summer or when it's too hot. You have so many options, why would you? However for the cold weather, it's fantastic. It smells so natural, with so much quality. This is a fragrance I use for myself but whenever I have been with my gf, she still loved it and hugged me more. Smells like a safe place! Sample before you buy, this is not a blind purchase, its price is too steep if you haven't tested in your skin and reading the reviews below, so many things could happen when you do. It gives me solid 6 hours before having to dig into my skin. This is the worst con, but something I am still willing to accept. I wish I wouldn't have fallen into this money grabbing trap, but... what can I do? I'm in love and people do stupid things for love.

This one came out swinging. First spray and bam - sweet, woody, a little fresh, and honestly kind of mouth-watering. It’s bold and sharp, yet somehow powdery at the same time, like it can’t decide if it wants to wear a leather jacket or a cashmere sweater...so it does both. And it works. As it dries down, that creamy sandalwood sweetness sticks around (thankfully), but the scent leans even more into its woody, aromatic side. Cedar starts peeking through like, “Hey, don’t forget about me,” adding depth while keeping things smooth and slightly heavy - in a good way, like a weighted blanket for your nose. Projection? Excellent. Longevity? A solid 7–8 hours on my skin. I caught random whiffs of it throughout the day and every time my brain went, “Yep. Still love that.” No regrets, no scent fatigue - just quiet confidence radiating off my wrist. It’s marketed as unisex, but let’s be honest: this one wears a firm handshake and strong eye contact. Very masculine. Very put-together. Very “I know exactly what I’m doing,” even if you absolutely do not. I don’t own anything quite like this, and once the price dips below $125 (I've seen it around $135), I’ll be grabbing a full bottle without hesitation. This isn’t just a test-spray crush - it’s a future shelf resident.

This is the best to come out of Diptyque. Period. But before we talk about Tam Dao, let's talk about Diptyque as a house of perfumes. None of their creations are made to fill the room, announce you before you've even arrived, or stuff people's noses with ounces of expensive aromatic molecules. No. Diptyque perfumes are all about subtlety and quirky sophistication. Take Philosykos, for example. People who like the smell of Philosykos don't think about sillage and performance. They wear it because they like it. Because it's subtle. Because they're far past the need to let everyone know they're wearing something expensive. (650 in my currency ain't cheap). So, coming back to Tam Dao, if you're expecting perfume-on-steroids kind of performance, then jog on. Tam Dao stays with you easily up to 6 hours. It lingers in the air for the first 3-4 hours. It starts off woody and balmy, which is what makes it so good to wear on a winter night. It has a beautiful sandalwood, a bit of freshness, and spice. It's not for everyone, but that does not mean it's a bad fragrance. It's a beautiful creation you may end up enjoying, maybe at a different time in your life.

I love, love, LOVE Tam Dao's scent profile, but after multiple wears of samples and some full sprays from the Diptyque store, I've decided this thing just doesn't like my skin chemistry. It's just WAYYYYY too light on me, and barely projects. Every time I ask someone if they smell it on me from a foot and a half away, they don't. It's such a shame. I want this to be part of my collection so bad, but if it's this light on me even if I'm only wearing it for me, I can't justify the purchase. If anyone else has this problem, I highly recommend just going for something like Center of the World from Mondo Mondo, which has a similar profile, but with a smoky campfire twist to it. Eidesis from Aesop is also a good, spicier alternative. Wonderwood is also okay, but you'd probably be getting the same (lack of) performance as Tam Dao because it's also VERY light... but at least it's cheaper? I will GLADLY accept Tam Dao EDP as a gift, but for now, I can't justify spending the money on it just based on performance alone. I'm very jealous of everyone who this performs well on. You guys smell incredible.

What is this magic? What is this sorcery? Tam Dao EDP is a very rich, smooth and elegant woody fragrance. Completely unisex. I can’t get enough of it! Especially in the Fall. As I indulge in a deep sniff, I’m delighted that absolutely no harsh or jarring “olfactive splinters” grate against the back of my throat. Everything is smooth and suave and generous. The scent exudes the warmth and sweetness of aged wood. I lived for several years of my youth in a 200-year-old farmhouse in the countryside. Occasionally, in the summer, I would venture through a painted blue wooden door and up a set of stairs into the attic, mysterious in its darkness, quiet and solemn. A powerful, pungent, almost sickly-sweet scent permeated the humid air. It seemed as if the scent was oozing out of the wood. It was overpowering. And yet, it intrigued me. It was as if the scent carried history. Tam Dao EDP smells far more beautiful than that old attic did. But somehow, it evokes the same sense of ancient wood with many stories to tell.

I recently purchased myself some luxury pure sandalwood incense from Japan, and upon smelling it, I experienced a whole new appreciation for Tam Dao. It is a true, dry sandalwood that nearly becomes acrid but is softened by sandalwoods milkier facets. I have loved Tam Dao since My mother and I sampled it in NYC on my birthday trip this year and she bought a small bottle, but understanding how close of a reproduction of authentic sandalwood it is made me appreciate it all the more. It’s photorealistic. It is an ephemeral scent that needs to adhere to clothing for longevity and if you go into it knowing this it can be appreciated. Not every scent is meant to project in a “beastly” way. Tam Dao is intimate and austere. It’s best worn in environments where it can breath a little- to the art gallery, a friends home, a walk on a spring day, in bed with your lovers- if you wear it in hot cloistered environments or if it’s intermingled with food smells it can become cloying.

I really don’t enjoy the first five minutes of this fragrance. I’m not exactly sure which note throws me off, but once that initial opening fades, it transforms into something truly beautiful. The dry-down is centered around an incredibly smooth, calming sandalwood accord. The vanilla and lime sit quietly in the background, supporting the sandalwood rather than competing with it. If you didn’t know the note breakdown beforehand, you probably wouldn’t even realize they’re there. Together they create a soft, creamy foundation that is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re a fan of woody fragrances, this is one that’s easy to appreciate. Its biggest weakness is the performance. It settles into a skin scent fairly quickly with a very intimate scent bubble. It isn’t going to fill a room, but if you’re looking for something clean, woody, refined, and best appreciated up close, this is an excellent choice. Overall Rating: 8/10

The ultimate pure and creamy sandalwood fragrance. I have searched far and wide for a fragrance that closely resembles the scent of Mysore sandalwood oil. Here is a list of the ones I have tried so far: - Diptyque Tam Dao EDP - Floris London Santal - Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Santal Noble - Comme des Garcons Wonderwood - Guerlain Santal Royal - Gucci Envy - By Kilian Sacred Wood Tam Dao is definitely the winner. By Kilian Sacred Wood is virtually the same scent but discontinued and more expensive. Santal Noble leans a bit heavier on the oriental side due to its spices and incense. Floris Santal and Gucci Envy ended up being traditional complex masculine fragrances. Wonderwood had too much cedar. Santal Royal had too much oud. I believe I have found my masterpiece sandalwood scent! Scent: 10/10 Longevity: Moderate Sillage: Moderate Value: B+ Versatility: A

From the very first spray, Tam Dao transports me. I close my eyes and I am instantly wandering through a Japanese forest, standing near a luxurious, hidden onsen. The air is heavy with the scent of sacred timber and damp, grounding earth. Wearing this, I feel like a regular at this sanctuary, adorned in a traditional kimono, hair loose, embodying a state of profound wisdom, peace, and quiet, humble wealth. It is an incredible experience of the 'Higher Self': fresh, powerful, earthy, and deeply meditative. If I could change one thing, it would be the performance. I generally prefer my scents to be subtle, but for Tam Dao, I find myself wishing I could saturate my senses in it completely. It is the only fragrance I have ever encountered that makes me want to inhale it 24 hours a day. An absolute masterpiece.

Tam Dao steps out of their one-bedroom flat to a bright, crisp, beginning-of-autumn morning. They wear a traditional Burberry-esque (but not actually Burberry, but maybe?) trench coat, and a cashmere turtleneck. The heels of their shoes click on the pavement with the slight crunch of wet leaves sprinkled in. The humidity of summer is starting to settle, with the dew gathering to the blades of grass. The smell of decaying leaves in the wind. Tam Dao's elegance comes from it's simplicity. Stays longer on the clothes than the skin. Honestly I seem to grab this in Autumn and Only in Autumn. (and at this point I'm wondering if it's accidental, random, or subliminal queues from my brain.) I'm not a fan of it when I spray it but the scent it leaves on my clothes is lovely and warm.

If the word "zen" had a smell, this would be it. I just absolutely love this scent DNA. It transports me to a peaceful jungle after it has rained. I started out with the EDT of Tam Dao. I love it, but the longevity left much to be desired. I get maybe 2 hrs with it. I wanted something that would last longer so I blind bought the EDP. I'm happy that I did! The EDT and EDP have some differences but they are also similar enough that they don't feel like completely different fragrances. The sandalwood is turned up in this one and the cedar is still there, but turned down. I actually do get a tiny bit of the lime in this. While it also isn't the most long lasting, I do get a little bit more wear time out of this. If you love a woody, unisex scent you have to try this one.

I am on my second bottle. I really like this scent. Love the cedar in the opening and the pencil shaves scent overall. I like the cedar opening more than everything! All year fragrance. The only downside for me is longevity: its poor. 0 projection or trail. But l generally have the same problem with all diptyques. I like to layer with eau de sens and its great. I bought sacred wood hoping this would be a Tam Dao beast mode but its not. Its not as good and disappears pretty quickly. For me, Tam Dao is a meditative scent, that l use only for melyself: a solitary pleasure. I won't be buying a 3° bottle. I almost have the same cedar note with JHAG superdose. Maybe l should find something more cedar and more powerful next time.

Sandalwood Fragrance Lovers - Assemble! This IS the purest interpretation of sandalwood from southern India. Those who have tried a particular bath soap from India - Mysore Sandalwood - will understand what I am referring to. I have found that the sandalwood notes in other western fragrances were not at all smelling like 'my' sandalwood memories, but this one... man... this is the one that I was looking for. Diptyque says this is the sandalwood from Goa, but its really the Karnataka - Mysore - Goa - Tamil Nadu forest belt that they are referring to, where sandalwood trees grows in abundance and highly protected by government from poachers due to high demand for this particular sandalwood oil. And yes, EDP over EDT any day.

This was my wedding fragrance! Opens strong, dry, woody, almost a pencil shaving type of sharp, and then softens quickly to a fresher type of fragrance with a hint of warmth. The freshness is akin to the smell left on your skin after using a men's sandalwood body wash, or the smell of a pile of dry firewood before it's burnt in the summer. The remainder of the scent is very soft, musky, and warm like a skin scent. Most people say this doesn't last long, but on me, this lasts hours and hours, but without much projection, making it perfect for a daily or office scent. Other notes I do not see listed that are on the website are cypress and myrtle, which I argue are what give this perfume its fresh quality.

I love the smell of wood—not the typical 'woody' perfumes that so many fragrances are categorized as, but the actual, natural scent of timber and logs. Tam Dao is the epitome of how beautiful wood can smell; it’s incredibly natural, calming, and realistic. However, it is pricey and doesn't project or last as long as I’d like. If you have any suggestions for similar scents that are more affordable and have better performance, I’d love to hear them. By the way, Diptyque is one of those brands that consistently offers natural, mellow notes. I’m not very familiar with "super-niche" houses, but Diptyque is certainly one of the most artistic perfumers I’ve encountered.

My favourite fragrance ever if i rate it just by scent profile. Wonderfuly creamy, woody and very calming. Love to smell it when im just quietly sitting looking at wonderful lush trees around me. Did not get the smell of pencil shavings or sawmill like a lot of reviewers mentioned. Smells very realistic but not entirely wild and natural(not in a bad way). The opening reminds me of a lovely cozy cabin with lush tropical forest acting in the background. Dries down rather quickly to milky woodiness. This would be my signature scent if not for the very weak performance on my skin. Sillage is moderate but logetivity is 2 hours max on my skin.

One of my favorites!! The reviews saying it smells like pencil shavings isnt too far off. Its very nice smelling pencil shavings though. Inoffensive creamy sandalwood with a bit of musks and a hint of sweetness (probably from the vanilla note). I find it very versatile. To me it smells like a clean spa with alot of wood paneling/decor for the interior design. I used to say that I'd prefer my room to smell like this and not a person, but I find that I like to reach for it when I don't want to put too much thought into my fragrance for that day. Slowly became a top 5 fragrance for me the more I wore it. Projection and longevity is average

i have been looking for a unisex, woody, fresh scent for this summer and then i found Tam Dao. it reminds me a little bit of Diptyque’s Eau Duelle in its sort of dry, paper like scent but it’s way more fresh and clean as the vanilla isn’t very prominent. the lime isn’t as noticeable as i’d like and i think adding juniper or incense to the recipe would elevate it even further, but all in all it’s a perfume that fits me and the person i am. beware: unlike Eau Duelle the longevity on Tam Dao is disappointing for such a steep price. it’s more like an EDT than an EDP, which begs the question; how weak is the Tam Dao EDT?

Dry, dusty wood supported by a mildly resinous smoke with a hint of citrus giving it a brightness through the smoke. Very clean and natural; not perfumey or soapy. Leans masculine but I wear it without hesitation. I could see the sandalwood pulling a little dill pickle if you’re susceptible to that. For me, I get pine instead. I rode the fence for a long time with this one because I have some beautiful resinous, woody fragrances, but it’s the smoke accord that set this one apart for me. Something about this expression is just different. It’s more subdued than the others, but a strong statement nonetheless.

Took my 2015 Tam Dao bottle off the shelf today and blew the dust off it. This could have been named one of the best natural high end raw material sandalwood scents of all time, but its poor longevity has strayed many away. The good news is you can find it for a good price and if you do happen to like sandalwood fragrances, you have to try this one. I personally don’t own it to wear it often, I just really enjoy taking it out occasionally to spray it on my hand and keep smelling it until it’s gone. Some may say that aroma therapy. This fragrance makes me happy. Love it . Can be worn any time any place.

I've had a decant of the EDT and bought the EDP. This one's opening has a more stringent lime/ ginger combo, which is very strong. The cedarwood also comes into the picture in the opening. Good projection in the first 2 hours. After it settles down to a dry, powdery sandalwood. This stage is my favourite. I get the meditative feeling of this perfume, but its very dry. Good for summers and day time. I get wafts of this perfume throughout the use, and it lasts for 8-9 hrs on skin. Very unique, but i wont repurchase once it gets over. The packaging and bottle are also very nice. Worth the money 8.5/10

I'm seeing comments that this is 'basically Gypsy Water'. I could not disagree more. I have both, and have worn both off and on for at least 5 years. Gypsy Water has a beautiful pine and lemon creaminess, semi-sweet. Great year round, but I love this spring into summer. Tam Dao is a dry wood, like walking into a forest, but someone has also just cut down some trees. This one, for me, is truly year round. I'll wear this anytime, anywhere. Not sweet, not floral. I would never feel like it was not worth it to have both. They fill separate places in my fragrance wardrobe. And I get compliments on both.

One of the best smells there is. Starts pretty harsh for the first 5 minutes, then gets as smooth and creamy as a fragrance can get. Clean, dry sandalwood with some bright notes of ginger and lime in the far back mixed with some very subtle vanilla. The catch is it legitimately lasts about an hour... I don't mind performance issues usually if I can get 5/6 hours but this is absolutely foul. I've even tested FOUR sprays on a single spot and it has absolutely no impact on performance. The weakest fragrance I've tried. It does last a slight bit longer on clothes but spraying on clothes is not ideal.

Imagine you're taking a hot shower in the woods and you have some herbal tea nearby, or maybe you're in an outdoor sauna in a forest--that's what this smells like. I personally love it, and I think if you're looking for something woody that doesn't smell heavy then this is your scent. It's very fresh on the skin! The sillage was strong when I first put it on, but after around 30 min it died down (which I prefer). However, I like to spray perfume after I shower & before I get dressed, so I'd imagine if I sprayed this with clothes on it would have been more noticeable throughout the day.

Smells like walking through a carpenters shop in a good way. Like someone just finished whittling a wood piece in the right corner, while another is shaving wood with a plane in the left. Then somewhere far off in the distance there's a saw finishing up and the smell of the cut is wafting. For a wood scent enthusiast this is the apex. In true diyptique fashion nothing smells synthetic about this perfume and translates well on the skin. Not a projection monster but solid longevity. Would do good year round, but maybe not a great day scent. However wear what you like when you like it!

This is fantastic - Very "brown" (dry / smoky / heavy ) sandalwood that at the same time feels fresh and "living". Imagine a wood that was fell down during a recent forest fire, and now sits next to a gently streaming river, with smoke still slowly emanating from it, in the early hours of the morning. If the performance wasn't so ABYSMAL I'd get it without thinking twice. But the seller couldn't detect it (!) on my skin less than 1 hour after I sprayed it twice on my wrist... Unless I shove my nose into my wrist I get nothing, and even then it's very faint. What a shame.

Smelled this in Nordstrom and knew I had to get a full bottle. This truly is the perfect sandalwood: creamy, slight spice, but not too overwhelming. I smell this and I'm transported to somewhere I want to be, but have never been. Like a cafe full of old books, older people drinking their hot coffee and teas as ambient piano plays in the background. I have just come in to escape the rain and I find myself in a place where I know no one, but I feel welcomed. The familiarity I have been looking for is there, and it is home. Truly beautiful.

I was completely caught off guard, it happened so suddenly... I'm in love. True love, not infatuation. There is passion, sure, but also a feeling of intimacy, freedom and companionship. Tam Dao makes me feel at peace. It lingers without ever being overwhelming. When I wear it, I don't feel like an impostor as I sometimes do when wearing scents that are out of my comfort zone. I am just me. If you're into soft woody scents with a lot of soul, you will also fall for this head over heels.

First of all, I LOVE this one. Not from the first spray, it took me a while to appreciate it. But am I the only one who thinks of this as a summer perfume? I took it with me on my summer vacation and sprayed before and after going to swim and it felt so nice and suitable. Generally I think of diptyque as creator of perfumes inspired by nature, that bring you closer to nature. I would definitely choose something different though for a night out and for winter time in general.

This is stunning! It is a true wood scent, but there is something alluring and complex about it. It has a nostalgic vibe I cannot place. I get the warmth of wood, with a sprinkling of vanilla, twist of lime, and pinch of coriander. It probably leans a little masculine, but I would call it unisex and I plan to proudly wear this gorgeous fragrance. I could see it being equally captivating on a man. This one is a love for me and it is utterly unique among my 300+ fragrances.

I received it yesterday, and damn, I fell in love immediately. Recently, I’ve been looking for unisex-leaning perfumes that are suitable for morning wear, especially in warmer climates like here in SA. I was worried about the cedar note, but I had no idea I would love this scent so much. To me, it smells like celebrating Christmas in early spring. I also love how it becomes slightly powdery as time passes. I just wish the sillage were stronger.

I have a woody for this woody fragrance, it smells like our teakwood cabinets in Thailand. I love and appreciate the high quality and realistic scent, but personally I need something more feminine. Today, just for fun, I tried layering it with Burberry Goddess in hopes that it would smell like honeycomb toffee. The vanilla just swallowed it up into a brown sugar/vanilla accord. I think it would make a great room scent or candle!

This is straight up sandalwood all the way through, more than anything I've ever tried. Super clean AND no pickle smell that you sometimes get with sandalwood fragrances. It disappeared pretty fast on my wrist but stayed in my elbow crease all day. If you're not into something super sharp and clean this is probably not for you, but I love it. I'm a sandalwood defender forever and ever.

complex, intense, sweet but woodsy, deep like a spot in the forest where the forest bed is almost all shadows but you look up past the miles of dark brown wood and see dark green leaves above you. there are many kinds of trees in this forest. masculine and sexy and strangely calming. i love how unique and complex this scent is :) doesn't last or project after an hour on me

Drats, I specifically bought the EDP in hopes it would be a bit stronger and notable. It isn’t. But the little I smelled from it was relatively nice . It’s a very pleasant soft woodsy scent. Pretty crisp. Probably a first that feels more genuinely unisex than typical woody frags. If anyone knows similar that has better longevity and sillage give me a holler.

I like sandalwood. I have many. This is sandalwood. It is different. More fresh. Hit of tartness. Dash of green. Its heating up here. Wore in 82 degree heat. Compliment count: 2. Not a room filler. But has decent longevity. Find this for a good price and enjoy. Don't expect it to be groundbreaking. Expect to smell clean. 4.1/5

This is AMAZING!! Just got a decant. I love this. It’s giving woody, fall vibes with just a hint of smokiness. However, longevity and sillage are poor. Sometimes that is ok for me. And this would be the “sometimes” I am talking about. I would wear this for me. At home, cozied up with a blanket and a brandy. FBW in my opinion.

Tam Dao edp smells creamier, richer, denser, and more like real sandalwood than the peppery cedary edt concentration. Edp is superior quality-wise, more full-bodied and satisfying. Worth a sniff on your sandalwood journey, for sure.

Imaging yourself sitting down on a mossy, cool boulder, watching swans in the lake below the gently rolling green hill. I love this scent. It’s warm, contemplative and relaxing. It’s like sitting in a hot wooden sauna with the steam and heating radiating off the wood and surrounding you with this beautiful woody scent bubble. There’s also a herbaceous and slightly peppery quality to it that gives a wonderful depth.

This is a very pleasant sandalwood perfume. It's slightly spicy with the notes of coriander, and the ginger notes gives it a lil kick! It's one of my favorites in the Diptyque collection. Perfect if you want a unisex wood that is a little out there and unique, without being too intimidating.

It smells almost exactly like cremos palo santo body wash which I love and automatically makes this one of my fav scents. Unfortunately the performance on this is a bit dissapointing and I feel for the price could be better. Anyone know a frag like this that’s got some more oomf to it?

Cosy, calming, sweet woody and dry. Tested it a few month ago and my sample is used till the last drop. Needed a full bottle for sure. It lingers on clothes for days so I dissagree with other reviewers that it does not last long. It is just a modest perfume and I love it for that.

This perfume is irresistible. The sandle wood note is natural, gives almost a spiritual sense of feeling. Keeps me calm and in a relaxed mood. This is one of my most favourite perfume for special occasions or friends and family gathering. Highly recommend this gem of a perfume.

This is my new signature fragrance. It's absolutely amazing and I love it with all my heart. The cedar, the lime, the ginger - together it turns into the beautiful scent of a forest in my home in northern Sweden. I truly cannot express enough how much I adore this scent.

Smells so nice and has been lasting on me for hours. Starts out a bit strong and almost a damp book smell (I like this) Dries down to an almost powdery, slightly peppery sweet wood. It reminds me of missing person by phlur but better--not cloying at all and more subtle.

I’m a little obsessed. So mysterious and beautiful. Gorgeous cedar in the opening and the lime note in the dry down is tantalizing. I can see how the wood notes would be too much for some but I am a certified pencil shaving lover.
