Vetyverio Eau de Toilette

I very rarely write a second review for a fragrance since i generally tend to stick to my initial views, but my opinion has strongly changed over the last year or so, so here it is. Let me start by saying that while it seems to be the general consensus that the EDP is the better of the two concentrations I find the EDT much more interesting and exciting, mainly because of the overall balance and complexity it provides. Vetyverio EDT is essentially a very tasteful opening mix of grapefruit and mandarin with florals (I mainly get rose without the harshness of geranium) some slightly powdery elements, slightly tart, but also quite sweet to my nose. What I found exceptional is the way it creates a very palatable root-like quality starting with the powdery carrot seed transitioning into the very clean green and dry woody vetiver in the base (the exact same vetiver that is put front and center in the EDP but in a smaller more digestible dose). The entire formula is as smooth as it gets landing from citrus into florals into smooth woods with a clear character and signature to it. The total is essentially an impressionistic picture of a large sunny green field of vetiver mixed with other flowers and plant life, capturing the aromatic, warm, but also dense woody qualities. While the EDP is more of a dense and rich vetiver, woody sligthly leathery, yet green and clean and smooth, it lacks all of the aforementioned complementary facets. Similar to the two concentrations of Eau Duelle, Vetyverio EDP is to my nose a soliflore take on a note, vetiver, that works amazingly in a bright and vibrant context and can be astringent or harsh when overdosed. Thankfully Diptyque is kind enough to the consumer to provide two options of the same idea, one ethereal impressionistic and complex in the EDT and one one dimensional and concrete and dense for those who enjoy the other school of thought, so there is a solution for everyone. I highly recommend the EDT version of Vetyverio as an very valid alternative to Terre d'Hermes EDT or other common woody citruses, its more sunny, youthful and approachable, while also very wearable without immediately evoking the remaining 90% of the male population (I swear TdH is the only fragrance I pickup on others in public here in Europe). If any of this sounds interesting make sure not to skip this one for the EDP, sample both and make up your own mind.

I like vetiver, but it is often done (or more often combined) in such a way that it becomes too traditionally masculine for my own taste. For that reason I wasn't expecting very much of my sample of Vetyverio, so it came as a very nice surprise how much I turned out to like it - although I should have guessed that of all brands Diptyque would be the one to make such a light, natural, wearable but still interesting interpretation of the note. I used up almost my entire sample this week, which says a lot because it's so rare for me. I like how the vetiver is done here, not bitter or dirty, but still crisp and full, easy. And it combines gorgeously with the grapefruit note that is, even more than the vetiver itself, the heart of this scent, at least to my nose. It's an extraordinarily soft grapefruit, nothing sharp about it although it's lifelike in a way as well, natural and zesty but just as smooth and mellow as that vetiver. The other notes are just background, providing a backbone of subtle sweetness and even more subtle woods and spices that all give the composition some extra depth without getting in the way too much. Best of all, it must be the longest lasting citrus fragrance I've ever tried - it retreats close to the skin after a few hours, but still, even in the evening I still get that same wonderful soft-natural grapefruit backed by crisp vetiver as I did in the morning. Not much development, sure, but who needs development when the original is so near perfect? It's a light scent, but substantial enough for all seasons, although it's probably at its best on summer days that aren't very hot. And because it's so easy and comfortable to wear, well suited to all kinds of settings as well. I'm going to get a big decant as soon as I can!

At work, I want my fragrance to offer a pleasant, mellow wave, not an in your face HELLO THERE. It is mainly for me, to activate my senses. Vetyverio EDT is perfect; it achieves the perfect balance of fresh and comforting qualities. I spray my wrists, neck, and once in the air and walk through to perfume my clothes—much more than I spray with floral leaning scents—and it stays light and is never overwhelming. Here, the citrus is gentle and sunny, not sharp, and does mostly fade within the first hour or two. The vetiver is green but soft. The musk is significant yet stays close to the skin, and is most prominent 5-8hrs in.. The ylang-ylang provides a beautiful creaminess to the character. I love rose but cannot pick it out here. The cedar is, again, gentle, and makes a woody bed throughout the experience. I catch slightly stronger glimpses of it as I inhale within the first five hours. I don’t like spicy scents, and Vetyverio never is. To me this is a well-blended concoction. I would say the longevity here is very good for an EDT. Note that the sillage does fade sharply in the first couple hours. While the musk will be most prominent as it fades to a skin scent at the end of the day, my clothes retain the freshness of the vetiver, soft cedar, and creamy notes all day long and then some...I’ll bury my nose in my sweater for a quick pick me up. It was the first spray on my neck and crew neck t-shirt that had me sold long after I left the Diptyque counter. Vetyverio is totally unisex. It is not a traditional cologne scent. Not too green, not too woody, not too pretty. As a woman, I can’t get enough.

Vetyverio is an honest take on vetiver which seems drenched in citrus juice. You have a melange of lemon and grapefruit juices with both the peel and the pulp - with more grapefruit, I'd say - on one side. On the other side, there is a fine vetiver note, with its usual rooty, slightly earthy quality. Those two work in conjunction for a solid period of time. The opening is a touch more hesperidic, and the drydown is more vetiver dominant, but the entire perception of smell changes only slightly. Being that I failed to spot any other note, and considering everything I already wrote, this is a definition of a linear scent(like a bunch of Diptyques, to be honest), but it's not that I need too much complexity out of a vetiver-themed scent. This iteration of it is fresh, pleasant and safe in a good way. Also, it feels very natural, with solid quality of ingredients. Longevity is excellent - in fact, I haven't had a better longevity from any other Diptyque(EDP or EDT) as it's easily double digits with Vetyverio. It projection is quite personal, though. I find Vetyverio perfect for office wear and for warmer seasons altogether. I haven't tried the most respected takes on vetiver, like MPeG or Frederic Malle. That being said, this is my favorite fresh version of it, as I love the natural quality of both citruses and roots and, especially, the way they mesh together. It deserved a high mark from me. Another pretty Diptyque. 8,5/10

This is a delightful , light, fresh but not acidic spritz of a scent. The biggest fear when people see a lot of citrus listed is that it will be evocative of some household cleaner or so synthetic as to be abstract when something more realistic is being sought. This is a beautiful edt, fresh, citrus, watery (not aquatic or marine) with a gentle wooded dry down. It is wood that is not reminiscent of anything sandalwoody, these days that’s worthy of a party popper on its own. It does not smell like but sits next to Bal d’afrique. I’ve never experienced a vetyver so lightly blended. It’s chefs kiss. Given how essentially cheerful (but not superficial) it is I was disappointed it didn’t project further for longer. It’s incredibly discrete and became a skin scent too soon. Now I’m battling whether to buy or not. Nothing lasts forever but I need to weigh if temporary delight justifies the ever climbing price point of life’s little luxuries, the cozzy livs is real. The rose is present and rounds off the fruit without overpowering, it’s just greater than the sum of its parts. I would bathe in an extrait. The EDP will be different again so I shall try that next. Gift safe, unisex, ageless. I would die on the hill that says this would struggle to offend, which does not make it boring, for a change.

Absolutely amazing, so clean and sophisticated scent, truly unisex. can be worn day night all seasons. lasts around a full work day a little longer in the cooler months 6-8 hours if u spray a little extra. projects mildly but for a very long time. Anyone an arms length being around you for a few mins will smell it on you. longer this stays on skin the better it smells. opening is citrus grapefruit, with some light florals. some vegetal quality lingers especially in the opening, a slight candle wax quality is there which does not surprise me as they make candles which creates a cosy vibe. The vetiver is light and a little smoky in this and stays smelling clean in the dry down with a touch of powdery quality. I have recently purchased this for the second time . This time in the newer style bottles and it is still the exact same smell. Diptyque quality is unbelievable, and this is as niche as it gets. not trying to be anything else on the market. The art work for the fragrance describes this scent very well. almost like if you went for a walk int he countryside and kept walking to discover a pond with flowers, grass, water lilies and birds and u touch water that looks clean and warm and you are left with he earthy smell on your hands 10/10 for me.

I used to have a bottle of the eau de parfum a few years ago and wore it with great joy. Until the grapefruit got too sour and the rose too feminine for me to buy again. I had always dismissed the eau de toilette as probably ‘the same with worse performance’, but a sample included in a recent delivery proved me wrong. The opening was similar enough to the edp, but less sour, greener and a bit lighter. Good thing, too. The drydown was pure magic. Contrary to the edp, the ylang here melded together the green, floral and woody notes into one irresistible, well-balanced skin scent that radiated out with body heat. The drydown stayed even as i got ready to go to sleep.It made me want to smell like that every day, so i ordered a bottle. It leans a bit masculine, but not testosterone-heavy at all. Can be worn by women. Personally I find it seductive on anyone. Things this is not: status-affirming, gender-affirming, consensual, dressed-up, business-like. Things it is: intellectual, sensitive, natural, pomp-averse, playful. Hope this gives an idea. Lovers of hay: this transports me there whereas much-touted ones like Chergui don’t smell remotely of hay to me, go figure.

This is me. I love all of my fragrances, I change and rotate them depending on mood, occasion, weather, yet when I wear Vetyverio I feel like wearing the idealistic version of me. At this point it isn't even about me liking it but connecting myself with it. It's my favourite art, literature, music, clothing, favourite time of year and favourite place. Has no gender or too specific style while still being quietly poetic. Manages being "old-fashioned" in contemporary way. I'm not getting that much rose the citruses and ylang ylang are more prominent to me. Longevity is quite good as well for EDT. Not surprising Vetyverio isn't that popular, Diptyque has more crowd pleasing fragrances, still it does something to my soul that I can't help but love.

I do not understand why do we have all these impressions listed as notes. The official notes on the brand website are Grapefruit, Vetiver and Rose. Anyway, to my nose this smells like fresh shower with a rosy grapefruit soap. Very very much soap but in a great way, however it is currently not too warm in April where I am based so I bet this will morph into something slightly different with more body heat. Clearly unisex, on me as a woman - it is a very nice soap and who wouldn't want to smell like they have just taken a shower. maybe a slightly smokey rose/grapefruit soap. EDIT: when sprayed under your shirt it turns creamy and sweet - it is ahhhmazing, next day on clothes it turns into a prominent sweet skin scent.

This one came as a surprise to me. My signature scent is spicy, woody Hwyl, and sometimes I can lean towards creamier wood like Tam Dao. You can tell that I like wood over green. This Vetyverio is green, but in a very likable sense. It's green with a bit of citrus that's round instead of spiky like some kind of dish soap. For reference, Diptyque's Eau des Sens to me is lemon dish soap, and Le Labo's Santal 33 is freshly cut grass. This Vetyverio is those two mixed into the middle ground with a bit of baby powder added from softness. Overall a very likable scent that gets people to think positively of you. Not edgy or chic though. Just very homey and likable.

I was recommended this Vetyver by a stunningly beautiful boutique employee in one of their city branches. She looked like a young Whitney Houston and her name is Grace. This is a phenomenal Vetyver, that smells rich, dense, earthy, and slightly dirty but in a very sexually confident kind of way. I am using it as a base to be layered with something more floral. I used my favourite Diptyque floral "Orlene" with this creation and together they truly work magic. Easily one of the best and warmest Vetyvers out there at the moment. Cannot recommend it enough. And that lady Grace, she is so beautiful.......sigh! One of the best reference Vetyvers around! 8/10

This has become my favourite Diptyque scent, just edging out Tam Dao from the top spot. You can tell they're from the same perfumer, both sheer high quality woody fragrances, though both similar in feeling so that you probably don't need both (sadly). What makes Vetyverio the winner for me is it feels a bit rounder as Tam Dao is so dry. Though I love both. Vetyverio is a lightweight vetiver, with grapefruit and cedar and a blush of rose. Though unisex, this feels like a vetiver for women, in the same way Femininite du Bois is a feminine rendering of cedar. It smells fresh yet deep and is hugely versatile. Can't wait to get this in my collection!

I think this is one of diptyque's unsung hero scents that doesn't get a lot of attention, which is a shame because it's a great scent. The opening is very fresh and citrusy. The vetyver is noticeable right from the start. The heart of the fragrance is floral with rose, geranium, and ylang ylang. I am not a fan of ylang ylang normally, but it works here. I pick up a lot on the geranium. It settles into a nice woody base with nutmeg, cedar, vetyver, and musk. The lasting power is surprisingly strong, it lasts on my skin for hours. It isn't too loud. A safe office everyday scent, for any season.

Citrus-like, floral vetiver. Minimal vetiver. It's hard to describe this fragrance, but it reminds me of an aromatic/spiced fizzy apple cider and sparkly champagne. It must be the grapefruit and other citrus + spices that create this illusion. On me - it lasts and lasts, esp on my clothes. Or at least I am very sensitive to it and can smell it all day. I agree with another reviewer calling it a fruity, somewhat woody floral. I kept mine in the fridge and used it quite a lot during the heatwave. It was my 'to go', no-brainer, hot summer fragrance. Would make a pretty safe gift.

I went to the store originally to try out a different diptyque scent, but upon a random decision sprayed on a little bit of this one. It stayed with me the whole day and I fell in love with it very quickly. Instantly knew that I had to get a bottle of this and so I did. It smells very cozy and warm and reminds me of dirt in an untraditional way. Kind of wanna drown myself in it, because of how good it smells. A very unisex smell. Also the EDP came off a little bit too strong, so I'd say the EDT is a great option if you want something more intimate.

I tested almost all of the available Diptyque scents, and Vetyverio caught me by surprise! I was not expecting nor prepared for it to smell like this at all. Looking at the notes, I imagined it to smell like a citrus bomb, but instead it’s the most creamy, airy, light, and flattering scent ever. Yes, the citrus is in there, but it’s not sharp at all. I call this a “no brainer” fragrance where you can just put it on and know that it won’t offend everybody. Smells so good!

Opens with a bright burst of citrus that quickly settles into a soft, floral vetiver. Smooth and pleasant. Sweetens a bit as it progresses. It doesn't have a huge amount of sillage and projects closely. Really comes alive in warmer weather, though I do also like it in winter when I want a break from heavy orientals and vanillas. Solidly unisex. Probably pretty safe for the office, especially if you spray lightly.

Lovely, bright citrus and clean vetiver...this does have some character created by other notes but my nose can't really detect what they are? Not much else to say. It's in the vein of Jo Malone for me which is only a good thing, As I've mentioned in other Diptyque reviews I really like everything from this house and vetyverio is no exception... it's just not exceptional.

Wow! I thought I had found the vetiver of ALL vetivers in Creed and Guerlain but I was wrong. Vetyverio by Diptyque is now my new favorite vetiver. In the initial spray I get lots of vetiver and the dry down I smell vetiver with some citrus. It is smooth and not over powering. Perfect for the office or daytime wear. I get compliments when I wear this magical fragrance.

This is a very pretty and presentable vetiver - cleaned up, crisp and soapy - white shirt, calm and clean. No dirty roots in this one, but I still like it a lot. As a lover of smoky vetiver I found this a bit too clean, but it's a beautiful and elegant scent that I think anyone could like.

I'm not a huge fan a vetiver but I do like this fragrance, it makes the note more easy to smell. This is vetiver all the way too. Not too sweet, not too spicy or woody. Very well balanced. Good fragrance that lasts pretty well too

Vetiver! It's the last one I tried at the store, but it caught me immediately. It's not that kind of smoky and earthy vetiver you find in, say, Terre d'Hèrmes. The best way to describe it is atmospheric, dry, and warm.

Is one of my favourite perfumes. Unisex, for everyday. Heart notes take me to the forest, were I can smell the green leaves and the morning dew. My sister smelled it last summer and I had to give her for birthday.

Fresh and soapy with good dose of citrus and vetiver. This is weak, on par with Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi weak. It smells wonderful though. Love it. I just need to spray it more 😂

Clean, salty, wheaty, comforting. This is an amazing fragrance. Not harsh like some vetivers can be, but smooth and salty. It's refreshing.

I wanted to rewrite my review, focusing on the comparison of EDP vs EDT. I have been enjoying a few 2ml samples of Vetyverio EDP, and came to the opinion that the EDT is better. I originally tried a sample of the EDT, which I liked very much. I think it's the best fresh, rooty, vegital haitian vetiver I have ever tried, and I've tried or have Sycomore, Ecre Noir, Tom Ford and Guerlain vetivers. The edt is best because it stays fresh, and somewhat sheer, transparent, light. In the edt the grapefruit comes through more, and the vetiver stays fresh and light. Then you have the nice florals that feel right with the overall light feel. Even the edt is not so fresh as Tom Ford Grey Vetiver or Atelier Cologne' s Vetiver Fatal; it's a bit more beefy and substantive. The EDP has better projection and longevity, but the vetiver feels too dense, the overall vib changes to allmost a light Oriental; feeling that there are balsamic resinous notes. Then the flowers and grapefruit, citrus are there, but are dominated and drowned out by the "dense" vetiver. So the EDP feels like pickles and ice cream, just doesn't work for me. But some may like it more. Dyptique is my favorite house, and I would consider the EDT of Vetyverio possibly bottle worthy. I think Terre de Hermes EDT is the best designer fragrance to come out in the past 15 years, but longevity is not great. So they came out with a EDP version, that becomes more dense with Cardamom added, and becomes slightly different fragrance, that I don't care for. Sometimes the Perfumer and fragrance house, intentionally make the edt and edp of the same frag to be different, so some would like to have both, or some may like the difference of one over the other. With Dyptique I prefer the EDP of Tam Dao, Philosykos, and Eau Duelle better; The EDT of Vetyverio, L'Ombre Dans Lieu, and Volutes better. Rating: 8/10 Happy Easter. John 3:16

This is a quirky one. It's very earthy and natural, which is what I like most about Diptyque. As a guy I thought the Ylang-ylang made it a bit too floral. But it has grown on me, it's great for a particular season, like Spring and Fall. Yet it's surely fresh enough for Summer, with the EDT. This is like Diptyque version of Terre de Hermes; more sophisticated, more floral, natural, gender neutral. I normally like to say gender neutral, when a frag is not particularly masculine or feminine, like green tea. But this is uni-sex, in that it has manly spices, with earthy vetiver, and it has a definate feminine side, with the floral bouquet. I find myself reaching for it, when I want a fresh fragrance, that's green and natural, and the florals are really nice and enjoyable as well. I like the carrot seed note. It's a piquant note, that adds a vegital quality to the Vetiver. So the earthiness, and the veggie smell with a bit of sourness, makes me feel grounded and comfortable. It's a feel-good frag, for when you just want to chill. There's a very nice and realistic cedar note, that gives it a woody base. In EDP, the Ylang Ylang flower comes through too heavy, and just doesn't blend well, with also a stronger more earthy Vetiver. It's like pickles and ice cream. The EDT stays fresher, you get more of the grapefruit comming through, and a very nice green Vetiver and floral accord, but the florals are more in the background. Overall the EDT smells much more balanced and well blended. Maybe a woman may like the EDP more, as it is more floral, but also more woody. So this is a try before you buy, especially if your thinking of the EDP. The EDT is more of a safe blind buy, if you know Diptyque and like Vetiver. Rating: 8.5/10 God bless. John 3:16

In my view, Vetyverio is an unusual and highly original fragrance. Here, Olivier Pescheux presents vetiver from a perspective that feels refreshingly different from the norm — much as Sel de Vétiver does in its own distinctive way. That said, I would not classify Vetyverio as a traditional vetiver fragrance. Rather, it is a composition in which vetiver plays a major role without ever completely dominating the stage. The fragrance’s unique character stems from the interplay between its earthy vetiver accord and the softer, sweeter floral notes that surround it. This strikes me as a particularly creative and well-executed concept. Although I perceive a slight lean toward the feminine side of the spectrum, I would not hesitate to recommend it to men. Pescheux keeps the composition firmly within the comfortable boundaries of a true unisex fragrance, making it equally accessible regardless of gender. Perhaps most importantly, Vetyverio possesses a quality that is surprisingly difficult to define yet immediately recognizable: it simply smells beautiful. Sometimes that straightforward description is the most accurate one. But rather than taking my word for it, I encourage you to experience it for yourself. My rating: Recommended. (6/7)

Maaan, I didn't know I'll love this fragrance so much! I needed a couple of weeks to realise that, even though I have some other lovely Diptyque fragrances, this is the one I always reach for AND is super suitable for an everyday wear. The notes that I smell the most are rose (apparently, a lot of rose), vetiver, musk. For me, this perfume is very feminine and masculine at the same time with gorgeous woody notes and musk on the background. I feel like this is the fragrances that suits me for almost every occasion - from staying at home or going for groceries shopping to going to office or even parties. It's a nice scent that's not offensive, but still with a good sillage. I don't feel that a lot of people would necessarily buy it, but I do get compliments when I wear it. It smells like a shy but talkative and friendly androgynous person. Maybe, I love this fragrance cause it reminds me myself a lil bit (or I wanna be this person), idk. I have Vetyverio in a 7.5 ml tester bottle in edt concentration (I don't like the edp version:( ), but probably it's gonna be my first big bottle purchase from Diptyque. I freaking love this brand. My other favourites are 34 SG, Philosykos, Tam Dao, Volutes and Do Son.

Nice, very nice vetiver in this, which perhaps doesn't add a huge amount to vetiver-centred perfumes but is lovely for what it is. It opens with a classic citrus/vetiver, then after an hour mostly vetiver remains, which is no surprise since vetiver is always very lasting. There is as some have mentioned, a long lasting citrus, blended perfectly with vetiver, like bitter lime or lemon peel but not harsh or too strong This focuses on vetiver's green astringency, that dry yet refreshing quality that makes it so lovely in summer or any time you want to feel relaxed and refreshed. Vetyverio would be a lovely unisex perfume in summer - after your shower with your fresh clean shirt or blouse, perfect! I prefer this to Lalique's Encre Noire Pour Homme though, as it's slightly less masculine in feel - smoother. I adore vetiver because of my experience of burning vetiver incense years ago while house sitting in a forest ranger's cottage, it always brings back that utter peace, so one of the most calming things I know of is bathing with a few drops of pure vetiver oil. The vetiver in this perfume is up there in standard,it's just very, very nice

This delicate vetiver fragrance is really nice. It opens with grapefruit and at its heart carries exotic florals and spices, all lightly composed. Carrot seed adds earthiness and powderiness, complementing vetyver's natural depth, which is not raw but polished and refined. It also introduces a subtle fruity nuance - somewhere between apricot and dried fruit, which pairs with occasional banana like facets of ylang ylang. Among the florals, i sense rose, geranium and ylang ylang most clearly. In the spice department, nutmeg takes the lead with its characteristic aroma. A green accord lends the fragrance a natural, botanical quality. Vetiver extract carries grapefruit facets, extending the citrus opening into a light woody, musky dry-down. Gentle and pleasant, its earthiness is present yet harmoniously balanced with the florals and spices, and the image on the bottle perfectly mirrors what I smell. Vetyverio is multicoloured yet unified, harmonious as a whole. For anyone who loves citrus, florals, wood and earthy tones all in one bottle, this fragrance will not disappoint. It is unique and beautiful.

I've had a decant for a couple of months and these are my third and final sprays. I've come from not really getting it (when I tired it on originally it was the end of a long cold wet winter) and now, July in the UK, I fully appreciate its clever levity, and uplifting quality. It begins zesty and sparkling (reminding me of ELDO's Remarkable People or Jo Malone Cardamon and Mimosa, or Vilhelm's Basilico and Felini) then with your skin's warmth it becomes a soft, warm herbally woody smell that has gentle flourishes of the rose, the geranium, the ylang-ylang. Underneath it all is the sharpness of the vetyver and the spiky spice of the carrot seed and clove which lends a slightly masculine vibe. The dry down is still uplifting though, but in a subtle grown up way which doesn't scream. A perfect spring, summer and start of autumn fragrance. I really like this and I'm sad I've got to the bottom of my decant.

I get what all these reviews are saying about the dominant citrus and stuff... but... when I first smelled this, I honestly thought "sexy green salad dressing." I absolutely love it, and while the listed notes do not really suggest much of a "spring green," that is what I get out of this. The bitter grapefruit makes it quite spritely. This is not an overtly vegetal scent, but the spicy carrot seed gives it just a touch earthiness. I smell a tiny bit of cilantro in there. It's leaning strongly in the fresh direction, but it has a real heart and soul... not anemic like some other fresh green scents out there.

LOL I just had to write a review in response to neonaya, who was wondering what type of female would like this. Me! A middle aged, straight, cisgender female who is silly and creative and quiet. And this scent seems to suit me and it is one of my favorites. To me, it is a fresh, slightly floral scent with a soft, soothing vetiver that makes me happy when I wear it. I think it's perfectly suitable for anyone who loves subtle aromatic scents. Not sure what else I can say about it. EDIT: I would be remiss if I didn't also add that fragrance has no gender or sexual preference. Or age. Or....Or....

Grapefruit dominates this fragrance. Vetiver plays a more supporting role, providing a backdrop against which the grapefruit shines. That said, the citrus element is not typical. It is a subdued, warmer version of the fruit, lacking overt freshness in favor of headiness. Musk also plays a role in this scent. Though, it is definitely a laundry musk. Overall, it is a quality fragrance, though not one I personally connect with. In other words, great on others, but not ideal for my personal use. P.s. The silage is relatively small.

I love Diptyque. Thats why I am So sad Vetyverio Stays only for 2 hours max. on my Skin. I get very green and fresh notes some kind of weed and bergamot in the first minutes and then a lovely citric vetiver. I like it is so fresh and unisex. After an hours it seems musk and vetiver dominate and fade quickly. Better then many Vetiver Parfums but low sillage. Stays a little to close to my skin. Well I got the EDT... Dunno if there is a EDP available. If yes I will update soon... scent: 5/10 longevity: 4/10 sillage: 3/10

Got this as a decant, as it was described somewhere as being as fresh as recently washed laundry hanging out on a sunny day. I can sort of see that, but I cannot shake the feeling that I smell like my grandma (I'm 30M). She would've loved this if she had more money to buy perfumes. It's inoffensive, but appararent. Definitely old money type of smell. Definitely not a bottle buy for me.. The 2ml decant will probably last quite a while, unless I feel like I want to walk around the city feeling like a rich grandma.

An elegant and sophisticated vetiver scent. Linear and simple, but wonderfully long-lasting – this easily stays on my skin all day, even though it's a lighter EDT version. The opening has a hint of bright citrus, but the scent quickly turns soft, round and woody. This perfume makes me feel grown-up and competent. In addition to the pure vetiver, I also smell some rose and musk. Vetyverio is not a mind-blowingly unique perfume, but a really beautiful, easy-to-wear unisex scent for everyday use.

I'm having a hard time describing this, but.....I love it. Like all the Diptyque fragrances I've tried (the ones I liked anyway), this too has that fresh, fizzy feeling upon application. It's a very clean vetiver, not dirty at all. Kind of like a fruity, floral, somewhat woody scent. I definitely smell apricot in this. On my skin this seems to get stronger and stronger, so I'm not sure why people are having problems with longevity. Really nice. Suitable for warm weather. I highly recommend it.

i detest how bitter the grapefruit is upon first spraying. it's thick concentrated juice, no zest, and it sticks to the back of my throat. but i love--love--this particular vetiver that appears afterward--and everything that accompanies it !! i'm not usually up for trekking through the bitter haze to get there, so i've turned to spraying it on my velvet couch or my clothing and return to it later, and bliss. how i yearn to smell what this would be without the grapefruit..........

This one is hard to pin down. When I sniff the cap it gives off a lactonic, almost rice-like note. When I spray it on, in the first few minutes the citrus smells artificial and stale - but I think this is a skin chemistry error. Thankfully it improves with time. Later its soft wood, citrus, and rose and this is when it becomes a skin scent. While I will definitely use up my 10 ML travel spray, I'm looking for something with a bit more punch so I would like to try the EDP next.

The user below me @lovelylifestyle hit the nail on the head. It's got a powdery, dusty, musty (but not bad musty) vibe. Very unique vetiver! I think the carrot seed and maybe ambrette blended with vetiver give it this character. It does retain cleanliness and I think this would be pretty versatile overall, although I only wore it once so I can't say for sure. Vetyverio is an interesting take on vetiver. Very nice!

I thought this would be a full vetiver fragrance... man I was so wrong. Vetyverio (EDT) opens with a burst of citrus??? I was so confused when I sprayed it on my wrist and took a second look at the bottle to make sure it’s the right perfume. Then it quickly turns into a dusty, powdery rose with an earthy vetiver notes underneath. IDK how to feel about this perfume...

Youthful fresh cologne-like scent. Smells like vetiver, vetiver, vetiver, raisin and rose--although I love it, I don't get much complexity or development from it. Pulls somewhat synthetic and sweet me. Although it's not a favorite of mine I reach for it more than my other scents because it is very versatile, appropriate for daytime, and plays nicely in hot weather.

Musky citrusy/fruity vetiver + childhood memories. Seems soft at the start but actually stays long and is easily detectable by the people around. Geranium is also pretty apparent. Somewhere in the middle between Byredo Bal d'Afrique (sweetness)/ Sunday Cologne(geranium+citruses) and Mona di Orio Vetyver(muskiness but Diptyque is much cleaner ofc.).

ottimo vetyver sporco con tanto pompelmo, di buon auspicio il muschio. delicato l'accenno di noce moscata. fila via liscio ma soprattutto fila via presto! Al mio naso è un pizzico più maschile con echi che ricordano la schiuma da barba. Bello rinfrescante. adatto al mattino, in primavera e prima di un pranzo in famiglia. Coloniale che non disturba.

Vetyverio opens with the refreshing aroma of a grapefruit being peeled in a grassy meadow. This fades after about 20 minutes and it becomes a simple, uplifting, bright vetiver. I don't really detect any other notes besides vetiver and citrus. It's pleasant, unisex, green, and something nice to wear on a hot and humid day.

Definitely fresh and citrusy at the start before mellowing down into a very cozy and warm base. Very comforting scent. I’m not getting rose as such on my skin but there is a hint of powdery floral that feels adjacent to that. Not worth getting the whole bottle because this barely lasts an hour and has zero sillage on me

This should be great in theory. On the paper strip, this was fantastic, too. But in on my skin, this showed awful. The opening is superb with bracing citrus and green Vetiver. But as the top notes fade, what is left is a very floral base that is dominated by Ylang Ylang and Geranium and it just doesn't work on me.

When I blindly bought the full bottle I have thought: oh, oh what have I done because I could not stand the Vetiver from L'Artisan (it is for me just black tea) but this fragrance turned out a pretty surprise although I prefer it when my husband wears it because it is a bit too masculine for my taste.
