Vinaigre de Toilette Edition Méditerranée

I haven't tried the original Vinaigre de Toilette and I'm very curious about how they compare, because I don't find this to be in any way vinegary. I was prepared for an initial hit of brine, a bit of marine sourness, but it's not there at all! (I was actually slightly disappointed by this, I was looking for a little challenge). Instead, I just get deliciously fresh, smoothly blended aromatic herbs—not even a sharp, prickly lavender or rosemary, but soft and surprisingly sweet. They're not listed, but I feel like there's some kind of orange and vanilla notes in here, too. It's very much a classic-cologne scent (though not a barbershop one, it's totally unisex), with a powdery-clean texture like a refined, creamy soap. Imagine you just woke up in a cottage in the south of France, sun is beaming in, and you wash your hands and face in a beautiful old ceramic basin while looking out the window at swaying fields of lavender—that's what this feels like. A more pedestrian comparison: as it sweetens in the drydown, it makes me think of a Sweet Tart candy, a slightly chalky citrus. Imagine a Provençale-lavender-flavoured Sweet Tart and you're pretty much there. I also assumed that it would probably dissipate quickly, and it *is* fairly short-lived, but it lasts longer on the skin than I would have guessed (fully present for a solid hour and noticeable another 1-2 hours after that) and also projects fairly respectably, at least for the first while. For something not even intended to be a proper perfume, I think it's delightful as a personal fragrance and a great value at under $100 for 200ml.

This fragrance preparation is heaven. A liberal splash invigorates, softens the skin and leaves a subtle trail of herbs and lavender in the most beautiful summery and delightful way. It is not strong or powerful in sillage or projection...but should it be? It is a personal fragrance for the wearer to enjoy, and for that I adore it. This is the type of thing Diptyque does best!

Simple and nice. Not a perfume but Surprisingly people can smell it if i put it on my clothes! Lasts around 4 hours.

It is spelled, "VINAIGRE" not Vinagre.
