All Night Until First Light

All Night Until The First Light is a grapefruit/saffron bomb! If you love a photorealistic grapefruit scent, you’ll love this! What a beautiful scent, unlike anything else in my collection! I have discovered recently this UK niche house and I love what they put out, granted I haven’t tried everything from them... That aside, All Night Until The First Light is quite fitting with the way the scent smells and the location it inspired it, Ibiza. I would associate light, fresh notes like grapefruit and magnolia with morning meanwhile notes like rum, saffron, black pepper or amber with nighttime. Therefore, mixing these notes together creates the perfect scent that could be worn for hours on, from dusk till next morning. I really like that’s the kind of perfume that’s both fresh/citrusy and warm/ambery/spicy. It doesn’t change that much throughout the wear, a warm feeling grapefruit/rum/saffron combo being the backbone of All Night Until The First Light. I think it’s a fragrance that is fairly versatile season and gender wise, there’s a multitude of notes in here that cater towards opposite sides of the spectrum. The packaging is nice, standard black box/sleeve, the bottle design is fairly unique with that disco ball vibe. On the overpriced side regarding value for money, but I got my bottle on a fantastic deal, during Black Friday sale, so I can’t complain. Would recommend it because it’s different than what’s mostly sold currently by other brands. Side note, don’t buy this as an alternative for Baccarat Rouge, it’s not! Yes, the saffron is pronounced in here and there is that sweetness, airiness, fruity aspect, but it is its unique scent.

Head over heels with this. I am a dyed in the wool peppery citrus lover — one of my other favs is Andrea Maack’s Lightsource. If Lightsource is sparklingly sunny, All Night is dusky...it feels like sitting down in a beachside cocktail bar, one that’s open later than all the rest, at an amber sunset knowing you’re going to be there far past moonrise. You’re wearing loose, chic linen that lets the warm breeze in. And you’re having a fabulous fucking hair day. The grapefruit is incredibly juicy and bright up top, which I didn’t expect to like since I’m not usually one to smell “edible” — but black pepper and rum also hit to feel like a balanced, aromatic cocktail. A little sweetness from saffron creeps in, radiant warmth from wood. The grapefruit calms down quickly into the softer, more resinous aspects of citrus peel, which nestles in comfortably with plush amber. Black pepper stays steady in the background, balancing all that potential sickly sweetness. Bright, soft, spicy, sweet all at the same time. This scent positively glows. Not too much projection, which I have no issue with, and it lasts 4-6 hours on skin which I’m also perfectly happy about. Counting down the days to get my bottle.

What a delicious photorealistic grapefruit! You get the bitterness from the zest, sweetness from the flesh and overall everything great about the fruit. In the initial spray you get a slight depth from the saffron, and after a short while you get the dry vetiver, but for the first hour or so this is a completely unisex grapefruit fragrance. After a couple of hours you have a more woody fragrance. It blends with the white flower and smells more like a grapefruit shower gel in a way. Not that I say that as a bad thing, but it feels a bit boring when it comes to this. I want more of the pepper and rum, but it absolutely is a great clean scent. An hour after this it has changed into a more masculine leaning almost fougere. The grapefruit has taken a more earthy step forward into an aromatic vibe, and that is how it stayes. And it does stay. The day after, almost 24 hours after my first spritz I can still smell it if I sniff on my arm, that is amazing. So even though this one is not for me personally I can’t wait for someone else to smell like this!

I've worn this twice now. Today it is 83° with 53% humidity and I'm walking around my apartment complex doing my Saturday laundry. Sprayed this on before I started, roughly 2 hrs ago. To my nose, it opens up with a powerful, juicy hit of grapefruit. If you've ever been to Disney California Adventure, this reminds me of the sensation on Soarin' when it smells like oranges, only grapefruit. Immediately after the first hit of grapefruit, you get the boozyness and the spicy black pepper and it smells like an expensive cocktail. Notably, to me it does not smell like rum just boozy. After a couple hours of sweating, it smells like a great night at a great club. The saffron and cozy base notes turn it from a juicy grapefruit to a much more sensual and sweaty experience. If I smelled someone wearing this, I would follow them around. I'd have them light my cigarette. The discovery set comes with a coupon for a full bottle and I was gonna get myself something but this one might have to be gifted to my partner.

I am obsessed with this. One of my all-time faves. Guess I have to spring for the full bottle! I got the tester set that looks like a pack of cigs and gave away all but this one (very much disliked the others, go figure). I love that it starts out aggressively grapefruity and the grapefruit lingers as it settles. Ugh it’s so good. If you love citrus notes, you must try!

Initially, straight up grapefruit. And it's pleasant and lovely, but then it mellows into a delicious, masculine woody scent. Very intoxicating. I'm not sure if I'd purchase this for me, but I'd love to smell this on my husband.

love this for my bartending shifts. citrusy and rum-y enough that it blends right in. this is pure party for me, a night out. keeping this vial in my bag because that is the vibe. you'll know when you need it.

First grapefruit heavy fragrance i’ve tried that isnt overly obnoxious with that metallic crushed grapefruit pith smell- this one is super soft and velvety and really melds well with the magnolia

The opening is just like the opening of Bal D'afrique Absolu by Byredo with better longevity and projection... This scent is insane I love it so much! Absolutely signature scent worthy!

Boozy citrus. Very juicy at the open. Feels like more "tropical fruit" than just grapefruit throughout the open. Maintains a strong freshness -- like a daiquiri bar -- for hours!

got the full discovery set, and this was my fav. also crazy that it’s based on the scene that gave birth to balaeric beat, one of my genres/sounds.

The fragrance opens with a bold, spicy bitterness, dominated by an intense citrus that commands attention. As it settles, it transforms into something warm, more intimate, and woody. The website's description perfectly captures its essence- it feels like taking a spicy shot and right after going straight to the dancefloor where you make out with a handsome/beautiful and mysterious stranger you will probably never see again and by the drydown, it feels like piecing together those memories the next morning- but in the most delightful way. While it’s not overly complex, this scent takes you on a journey- one that lingers far beyond expectations. On my skin, it remains detectable for over 10+ hours after the initial spray. I really love what Discotheque is doing with their fragrances. The photos, playlists, and descriptions all come together to tell a story and really engage your senses. It honestly makes me wish I could time travel to these places. I’d definitely recommend a blind buy of their discovery set—even if the fragrances don’t end up being your daily or special occasion go-to, the whole experience with the music, photos, and scents is so cool on its own.

the opening is WHAM grapefruit juice first thing in the morning. when it dries down, the grapefruit mellows but is still present, and the woody ambery scent remains on the skin. this smells very smooth, much less forceful than some of the other scents, and less night-time - I can see why this is 'till first light' as opposed to a midnight or 1am perfume. it's still sultry and dusky, but the citrus picks it up. this one might move from like -> love as i wear it, and i would very happily smell like this all the time.

ooh! so different and unique within this discovery set. the grapefruit and saffron dance together in an incredibly creative way, and while this one isn't my favorite out of the bunch, i seriously appreciate its ingenuity. perfect for going out for a drink and a dance before irish exiting and having a smoke on the walk home -- in an 80s euro summer kinda way

Wow! Warm summer night in a bottle. 🌙☀️ I live in Spain, and after learning this fragrance was inspired by Ibiza, everything made sense. Young, energetic, carefree and fun👙🌊🏖️ This is exactly what I imagine on happy people staying out until sunrise. Sadly, it disappears too quickly on my skin. 8.5/10 ✨

Delicious grapefruit scent. Dry down can still smell the grapefruit. The floral and black pepper are nice with the grapefruit. A contender for a full bottle grapefruit scent for sure.

Very fresh, ultra realistic grapefruit and saffron. It is very well blended.

This starts with a big whack of grapefruit and a hint of hospital antiseptic, but quickly fades down to a classic cologne on me, ending up smelling almost exactly the same as a couple of the Atelier Cologne minis I used up last summer. I'm surprised that it's an EdP, as it has about the same sillage and lasting power as those eau de colognes. As a citrusy unisex scent, I like it, but it's nothing that special to me. It seems very mainstream compared to the other Discothèque offerings in the sampling set I'm working my way through at the moment.

SUPER grapefruit, a bitter spicy citrus with whole black peppery aspects. Spritzed again, it's genuinely like I took a grapefruit and bit into it, skin and all, ripped it open, and stuck my nose inside. it's so powerful. Mildly astringent in the back of my throat, I think it’s the way amber reads to me. This opening would be fine, but as it dries, it smells like latex gloves and a doctor's office. I hate this part. Personally unwearable. As I keep coming back to this praying it gets better, it doesn't. LATEX GLOVE CITY! Repulsive.

Opens with a shampoo-like fruity blast which is so textured and interesting that you can almost smell a fizz from it! When it settles you still get that beautiful grapefruit note up close but in the air I smell the Saffron come through in an almost medicine-like way, in the same vain as Ganymede which I am surprised to see no one else compare it to yet. That synthetic type of saffron is a note I can struggle with as it’s often headache inducing and requires such a specific mood/vibe to make it work for me personally. It kind of feels like an alien wondering into a dimly lit cocktail bar. I would be careful not to overspray this. I would not buy a full bottle but I enjoyed trying it. If you like this and want to try cheaper scents that use a similar DNA you should try Masa from Lattafa (a ganymede dupe thats actually nicer than ganymede to me as someone who usually hates lattafa and arabic dupes) or bois imperial by essential parfums which is a more wood based/natural take! 6/10

Love the initial grapefruit, so tangy and refreshing, but the drydown is just too masculine for me to wear. I’d love to smell it on a guy though, it’s very well composed. Ed 6 months later: sheesh, who was that idiot that said this was too masculine?? My tastes have definitely changed after testing so many perfumes in the last few months, and now I love this. The first blast of grapefruit is still lovely, but I now find the dry down softly aromatic and woody. I got the discovery set in May, tried a few and thought they weren’t for me. Rediscovering them now, I appreciate them much more. Plus they now do travel sizes, which I love. Will pick up Lola at Coat Check and Heathens, Cowboys and the Santa Ana Winds for sure, and possibly All Night and Dark Imagination too. Call for a Good Time is also lovely though. Love the aesthetics, the stories, the juice and the playlists.

The blurry memory of a tropical vacation where you were never sober. Fresh fruit mixing with the synthetic kinds in drink syrups, the ocean breeze competing with someone else's woodsy cologne still sticking to your clammy skin. A journey and a half.

Grapefruit fading into a sharp vetiver. I can detect a bit of the magnolia, but it's very faint. For me, that's a good thing--I'm not a fan of magnolia's smell. I imagine this would be divine in humidity.

this smells so much like the honey citron and ginger tea jam from costco. just more grapefruit forward. wow.
