Body Heat

Boy-o-boy... I purchased [Eye Contact], left Selfridges, and as I was walking, Body Heat on my left arms started to feel better and better each second. I couldn't resist, went back, and made a blazing fast transaction of Body Heat. I was tempted to get the red limited edition, but I loved the simplicity of the original. I am a rather "heavy scent" person. As an example, Initio's Oud For Greatness have been my favourite (and main) scent so far. So finding a fresh scent that would be "me" is challenging for summer. This, however, works for both seasons, featuring both characters without overpowering one another. This was yesterday, so more than 24 hours, I can still smell it on the surface of my arm (except it is not radiating anymore). Sillage dropped drastically, but it is still here. As for the sillage, of course, it was radiating for more than 6 hours. It is a very bright night scent that can also easily fit the day. It is warm and powdery; it feels very fresh and sexy. Of course, anything after my previous scents is fresh to me, and this definitely has its weight as well since it's very present; so, not a shy or hollow one. It opens bright, fresh and sterile, sustains like a bright light of the club, and later warms up and rounds its granular character. [Eye Contact] on my right arm probably layered some saffron, which made it somewhat more interesting, so it is something to consider. The oud notes are humble yet balance the overall scent like a wide pillar. I think coffee and chocolate are not very prominent on my skin. Also, is that saffron I'm smelling? Think of it as the white shirt hero of the night, not a dark shirt villain one. If [Eye Contact] is Cain, Body Heat is Abel.

This was love at first sniff. Im finding it hard to describe it properly as I’ve not smelt anything similar, but to me it’s a warm, clean scent—like body heat and the scent of steam rising from a cup of coffee. You get soft orris, suede, and creamy sandalwood, with a subtle warmness that makes it feel intimate and skin-like rather than sweet. I first smelled it at the Discotheque pop-up and loved it instantly, and I ended up getting it as a Christmas present. I’ve only had it for a few days and have been using it religiously as it’s so addictive to me. Also I have a bottle of both this and Lola at Coat Check and can confirm that they do not smell alike. This is it. Please hook me up to an IV and feed Body Heat into my veinsss. I can’t tell if it’s sweet or spicy or what’s going on but I love it all. This feels extremely personal. Like a long hug. The longest, sexiest hug. Suede. Amber. Coffee. Oud. I just got this so need to wear more but those are some intial thoughts. Yes yes yes.

I have *LOLA AT COAT CHECK* (named after my granddaughter....as is Marc Jacobs *LOLA*). I bought *BODY HEAT* blind ~ I got the Ltd Edition Red Bottle. Wuu-Huu. I L:O:V:E it. It's difficult for me to pick out the individual notes.....except, perhaps, cardamom....or maybe it's orris? It's masterfully blended. It is suede-like....with the slightest breath of coffee. I'm sure I'm only mentioning *coffee* because I read it in the notes. I need to live with it longer but, for sure, it's warm and wonderful....nothing like anything else I own....except maybe....hmmmm....*Cardamom Coffee* by LUSH. Maybe. The perfumer is Jean-Charles Mignon who also created *Lola At Coat Check* and the excellent *Grunge Rock Tuberose from FOOPE. I L:O:V:E *Cardamon Coffee* and I L:O:V:E *Body Heat*. It's the 1960s. The scent of an expensive mans toiletry cabinet when you first open it- the shaving foam, wooden handles and tight bristles, the cotton pads and balls, pomades and other such potions, the various colognes all in varying shades of blues and greens, lagoons and emeralds. It's the smell of a palettable splash in the heat of a freshly showered in bathroom. In walks the man himself clad in a navy three piece suit sporting said colognes and slight smoke from his morning cigarette, with not a hair out of place nor a hair on his face. A smooth, suede like finish, and an even smoother scent to match. That man? Gregory fucking Peck. If you want to smell like Gregory Pecks bathroom firmly in the year 1963 in the best way possible, get this.

This perfume is just the perfect blend of something unique and familiar. The drydown is the best part! A slow amber‐wood haze that clings to fabric and hair. It’s not smoky but its also not clean! I love it, it feels intimate whilst also being fresh and I am obsessed with their Limited Edition Red Bottle!!!! I think they have done the smallest run of them and it's their first ever play with colour!
