Lola At Coat Check

I bought this after a fragrance fitting from a boutique. It’s like nothing else I have in my small collection. I tend to favor masc leaning woody smells but recently started to like gourmand scents. I have no idea why! It took me a minute to truly love this one but now I am pretty obsessed with it because it blends both woody and sweet so well. It opens with a burst of light pink pepper and grapefruit with the cardamom holding them together. Then quickly transforms into the middle notes. For the longest time, I could not distinguish the white chocolate and caramel within the floral notes. Now I can but it’s more like a very lightly sugared rim of a fresh cocktail rather than a nose burning sugar bomb. The florals are there but not indolic or overpoweringly femme. All along the base notes are present but really emerge in the dry down. Sandalwood is creamy and is blended very well with the cedar and vetiver, which are really the stars to me in this scent. I love the brand’s storytelling and the accompanying playlist is perfect. The 90s music and the blend of perfume notes remind me of the popular boy scents of the time. Like Cool Water and New West but without the aquatic notes. Just fresh and woody with an updated modern touch. I love this one so much and find myself reapplying throughout the day. That brings me to my only complaint, which is that on my skin, the longevity and silage are pretty weak. That makes me sad because Lola is definitely that girl. Even so, I’m keeping her and loving the scent journey and how she lingers on my clothes. Also, there are several other scents in this line that are jewels too. Edit: I’ve had this for a few months now and either I’ve just figured out how to apply better or the open bottle has aged it a bit, but now I can smell this all day. I LOVE it! I wear it every Monday to help me get through how offensive Mondays are! And also whenever I just want to feel a little extra badass.

Out of the three Discoteque fragrances I have, Lola at Coat Check is the most gourmand, the sweetest, the creamiest and the one that sits closest to the skin/ least intense/less projecting. Which is such a shame because the scent itself is to die for... If you are a fan of creamy sandalwood/cedar and powdery orris root, but you like a bit of white chocolate and white florals in your perfume, Lola will be your thing. It is such a wonderful, well composed, well balanced, sweet, woody, soft spicy, aromatic, white floral scent that doesn’t smell like the typical designer release, but has an absolutely addictive quality. Easy to reach, every day kind of perfume, but a bit more elevated and distinctive. On me, it’s mostly a skin scent with low sillage and 5-6 longevity, which will prevent me from upgrading from the travel sizeI I have to getting a full size bottle. Call For A Good Time and All Night Until the First Light are more intense, longer lasting and have better sillage, meanwhile Lola at Coat Check is equally as beautiful but lacks in the performance. Unisex, more feminine leaning because of the sweet, gourmand aspect and most seasons appropriate (except winter) because it is quite subtle and light, which makes it wearable all year long. Love the scent a lot but definitely overpriced for such low performance. For those loving (gourmand) skin perfumes, this will be a treat! Edit 15.05.2026 Worn it twice this week and I have noticed that it actually performs very well. On clothing is lasting for days on and it creates a scent bubble around me. I’m really impressed with this and would certainly recommend to anyone who is interested in this fragrance. It’s beautiful and performs well!

My first reaction to this was «It has to be coconut in this?» But it is not listed, so I don’t know what my nose is trying to pick up, but I swear. The first spray of this is fresh coconut! The perfume itself is intimate and cozy with a prominent, sweet cardamom and a delicious white chocolate. Maybe it is the mix of these that make me get coconut? Nevertheless this is a creamy scent sent from heaven! The jasmine soon emerges but everything is well blended and even though it is very sweet it still feels pretty refined. Intimate and shy from afar but warm and cozy close up. It really is a perfume you want to inhale. And everytime you go in for a new sniff you smell something new. When it dries down it feels like a thick vanilla scent? I guess that would be some blending of carmel/sandalwood/cardamom my nose misreads. Anyways – it fit together and gives almost this kind of vacation vibe. Like going out and eating a gelato after a long day at the beach. After a while it may start to feel a bit too thick and cloying with the caramel, almost a sunscreen note in a way. But all in all, I do love the usage of white chocolate. So even though I feel like that particular note is problematic it never actually goes so far as to being too much for me. I will have to say that I am a bit dissapointed in the longevity for this one, since ‘All Night’ and ‘Sweat, Tears and Paradise’ had such insanely longevities. Enough about that, this still is my definite favourite from this brand, and I will have to have a full size of this one. I mean, have you seen the bottles? They are so darn cute.

What a knockout. Really hard for me to describe this one as many others have said, really well blended so I can only really pick out clearly chocolate, cardamon, orris and caramel. On me, this is a white chocolate base that’s woody, sweet (vanilla coffee syrup type sweetness) and powdery. However it’s not powdery in a way like the my other fragrances that lean powder puff / lipstick. The powder in this burns the nose a little, it doesn’t dominate the perfume but when you catch it gives you a middle finger. The middle finger has got black chipped nails. I get why people find this too powdery, it’s not a traditional orris, it’s sharper but coated in layers of melted white chocolate and gooey caramel. Very interesting and dare I say unique. I was surprised there is no hazelnut / chestnut in this, definitely comes across faintly nutty on me, but that may be the powder or the cardamom. a messy but chic girl’s version of sweet perfume. Perfect for me. One of the few perfumes I’ve met that I feel works for my personality as well as it does. I am now Lola! Give me your ugly coat! Only complaint, a scent like this should be louder and project more. It’s not weak per se but it’s not projecting as much as I’d like to either. For that reason, I will only grab this on sale as I will need more sprays than what I would usually allow for perfumes. Lola’s softened my heart a little with needing more sprays = never buying. I layered this with gucci bloom EDP and now I live in a dreamscape <3

This is such a knockout fragrance. It’s so dark, flirty, and mysterious. The imagery I get when I smell this is literally the title, but Lola is not the coat check. Imagine being at coat check, in a club like Studio 54 - your senses are overcome with stimulation from every angle, and then you see her: Lola. She’s quiet, demure, and oh so enticing. The others are loud, but she’s commanding through just her presence, and she knows it. This fragrance is definitely dark, but not really in a gothic way. The woodsy notes definitely make it deep, while the orris gives this powdery quality that I think deepen the mystery. It’s definitely brightened with the pink pepper and grapefruit, and the white chocolate I can smell throughout, and it’s definitely helping to I think make it sweet enough to keep it from smelling really earthy. I don’t know how to describe it other than I see Lola, and I wanna know who she is. She is that girl, and she’s got a hold of everyone in that club. I definitely think this fragrance is unisex, maybe leaning a liiiiittle feminine, but I think if you’re a guy wearing this, it takes a man who understands that there’s power in the feminine to pull this off. I don’t know? Like, if you wear this, you have to rock it, and you’ll be that b*tch. I absolutely adore this scent, and will always, always, always have this in my collection.

I was nervous about this one because I am a sandalwood lover but a gourmand/amber vanilla hater, but I was surprised how much I loved this one. On first smell it is the most wearable out of the line imo. It's shocking how much this perfume can actually evoke a series of events as if in a movie. The grapefruit comes out first but fades within a minute, smelling like everyone arriving at a club freshly showered. The next notes I get are orris and jasmine, like brushing against unfamiliar people in line wearing lipstick and more feminine perfumes. The vetiver comes through almost metallic with the exact scent of old metal hangers (like walking around a thrift store with too many things in your hands), and then it all dries down within five minutes to an ambient sweet, creamy scent, with a little bit of grit at the bottom. Smells like walking home after the club one wet pavement wearing someone else's perfume, sniffing your shirt after the sweat has dried, climbing into bed. Gives the feeling of being on vacation and pretending to be someone you're usually not; sweeter, more feminine, more mysterious.

An initial hit of cardamom that was reminiscent of Chai Fleur by Belnu, but the similarities between the two ended quickly there. Chai Fleur is muskier and more violet floral, while Lola is dusky and woody. I'm a big fruity-floral-gourmand girl down and the white chocolate notes are hardly there for me, coming and going every time I smell my wrist, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying this. Every note works harmoniously with one another. Something about this smells SO nostalgic to me. Not of being surrounded by beautiful and mysterious people in the dark of the night, but of being a kid in the early aughts, running around the Rainforest Cafe and struggling to shove my ass into a pair of jeans inside an Abercrombie fitting room. Lola smells like freedom in loud, dimly light places - even if place turns out to be the South Coast Plaza mall in the year 2002. This is a perfect fall/winter scent and tied for my favorite from all of Discotheque's scents (the other being All Night Until First Light/Ibiza). Cannot wait to purchase the full size once it starts to cool down.

So sexy, woody, peppery, with a rich creamy and floral sweetness. I don't normally like woody scents, but this is something else. The notes swirl together into something sophisticated and alluring, but never cloying, never overly woody or harsh. The overall scent profile is balanced, well-blended, highly appealing, and rewarding - it's delightful to observe how the scent evolves and finally settles into its gorgeous wood-and-amber heart. Appropriately named - I picture a hot, mysterious, totally out-of-my-league girl wearing this. She works the coat check and everyone fancies her. The kind of girl whose life is a bit of a mess behind the scenes, but she's also the coolest person you've ever seen. Edgy, but oozing femininity. I purchased the Discothèque tester set and I'm VERY impressed. The theming is brilliant. They display quite a range of fragrances, but they all tie very well back to the dance floor/club theme. I would highly recommend the tester set to anyone who's curious.

First and foremost this is a woody fragrance. I don’t usually like woody fragrances (I’m a gourmand lover) but there’s something quite pleasant about this. At first it’s a sort of masculine and harsh blast of wood, but it quickly mellows out into a sort of... curvaceous? woody sweet scent that I actually am surprised I like. I don’t really smell white chocolate or whatever, and for what it’s worth when I asked my husband what I smelled like he said ‘old wood’, but I still somehow like this. Don’t know how much I’ll use it though or if I’ll keep it Edit: I sent it back and as soon as it was gone went to reach for it and had huge regret then did the waiting at the airport thing from the romcom and asked the store to send my box back lol. I’ve never done that in my life. Something comforting and nice about this, highly recommend

Oh my gosh, this is sooooo goooood!!!!!! But you’ve got to love Sandalwood. But it’s so good! I cannot get over the fact about how good this is!!!✨ I had my wrist under my nose all night last night after spraying it. I couldn’t stop smelling it!!! That’s the first time a fragrance has done that to me 😳 There’s spices and a hint of chocolate that comes and goes but for me, it’s that sandalwood note that just shines and it is lovely!! Thank goodness, it never goes into Santal 33 mode, cuz I hate that pickle smell! Longevity is really good because I could still smell it this morning when I woke up✨✨✨ I want a full bottle of this!!! Plus, my name is also Lola so it’s just meant to be!

My first impression of this fragrance was very rosey, although that was on the initial spray. A very smooth, sweet, creamy rose. However, as I’ve worn this throughout the day, I am reminded of Venezia by Laura Biagiotti, as worn back in the 90’s. I’m not saying they ARE similar, just that the vibe is reminding me of that... I even went as far as comparing their notes on here, because I was certain there was some plum hiding in this beauty. Apparently not, but there is a jamminess to it that I find quite addictive. Whilst Lola At Coat Check is nothing like I expected her to be, I like her very much.

One of my favourite new perfumes in a looong time. Initially smelt creamy white chocolate and sandalwood, but then all the other notes surfaced which balance it out.. I love the bits of orris and lily especially. I'd say it's indulgent and refined at the same time. The dry down is where this one really shines as that sandalwood, vetiver, and amber create an amazing foundation that makes the sweetness feel grounded and sophisticated. The balance of all of it together is addictive. Also the staying power on my skin is intense, so make sure to test it first and be cautious with your spraying!

Basically a perfume rendition of indie sleaze, in a good way. Starts off exactly like OG Dior Homme, with just a touch of masculine metallic edge from the iris & cardamom, then a flash of grapefruit, before quickly subsiding into a louche sweet smear of 00s/early10s style floral patchouli goodness, something like Belle d'Opium. As per the notes there's a hint of white chocolate and caramel but it's completely non-edible/gourmand and roughened with loose-leaf tobacco and coffee grounds. Really gorgeous, & smells especially good as remnants on fabric the day after applying.

I really love Lola and Coat Check. Peppery in a nice soft way, not burning the nostrils. I do smell the white chocolate quite a bit, but its not very gourmand sweet. Its such a fun girly scent, a nice switch up from sandalwood from typical sandalwood offerings which can often be serene spa like smells. Its flirty but not juvenile. So far I find it lasts quite well, but not projecting a crazy amount. I can't wait to wear this on a night out.

Lola smells exactly like the gay clubs in my city and I swear to God I've been accosted by and made out with older gay men who smell just like her. It's sweet feminine perfume on top of strong masculine aftershave. It's skin and the inside of a pocket, it's the bar before the night has really started. To me this is maybe the plainest from this line of perfume which doesn't say much because they're all incredibly special.

Lola at Coat Check is so underrated! It's is bit spicy on opening. Quickly it develops into a dry cedar and sandalwood. Then a thin line of sweetness with a whiff lipstick and powdery orris. It has these fascinating stages as it dries down. On dry down it feels like Molecule 01 + Iris with a thin line of something sweet curling around it. Also, the bottle is GORGEOUS.

Back to this dark mansion vibe, Lola to me must be a woman tucked within a black trenchcoat, glasses, and hair tucked back. She thought she was sneaky trying to get into the mansion’s party with her rose-white chocolate powdered delights stashed away within her pockets. A soft, rosy, and white chocolate scent. We need more gourmands like this.

An instant love. Perfectly blended, and there’s something in it for everyone. Gourmand fans will like it; non gourmand fans will like it. Comforting and nostalgic but still new and exciting. Sexy, if you want it to be. But also cozy and warm. Maybe leans a little feminine in the dry down but overall super unisex. Truly a knock out of the park

I have NEVER found a pure vanilla extract, boozy, VANILLA... EXTRACT... and I have never found it. This reminds me very much of Vanilla Crumble except this is less syrupy. This has the coconut and creamy elements of Vanilla Crumble. That's very "cookie."

This is a beautiful semi-gourmand sandalwood fragrance. The spices are toned down (I was nervous about them) but nope - she's lovely and a keeper.

A warm, sophisticated fragrance. I typically hate powdery notes, but this settles into a soft, cozy feeling. It’s feels vintage but not dated.

Signature scent worthy. So many compliments. Somehow one of my favorite scents; I never get sick of this one. She's a beaut. Spray generously.

When I wear this, I get reminded of my uncle. He was never afraid of wearing more "feminine" scents and how that affected how he appeared to people as that didn't matter much to him. He was so cool. He smelled almost exactly like this with the hint of cigarette smoke you kind of get from this. I really like the creamy white chocolate with the orris and I'm not usually a prominent sandalwood fan but here I like it a lot. It's dense and rich and makes me feel like a bachelor when I put it on. I can see how people view this as addicting or comforting.

A delicious green cardamom amber scent which gourmand nuances, sweetened by white chocolate. It is not the most unique fragrance but is a super likeable perfume especially for a cardamom lover like me. The name and branding is inspired. The whole night life theme is so evocative and fun, the attention to detail in terms of storyboarding each scent and the disco ball caps are fab. Plus Lola is my name so for that reason alone I think I need a full bottle!

Lola At Coat Check 🌙🔥 A fragrance for a proud, independent woman who is perfectly happy on her own. To me, it smells like a bouquet of lilies standing in a wooden Swedish cottage while a fireplace quietly burns in the background. Very feminine, soft and elegant. I find absolutely nothing masculine here. A beautiful evening scent with a calm and confident energy. My rating: 8.5/10

This reminds me of 90's when uncles and aunties came over, and all their coats was put in one room. And when we - as kids - played hide and seek, we dive under those coats. I loved that smell. Bit dark, sweet, mysterious. I don't think I want to smell like this today. But the name of this scent is perfectly chosen.

A friend lent me a sample This one is a journey. The cardamom and grapefruit hit first and smell a little dusty. Then it changes completely as the white chocolate takes over. Then it settles into warm spice

Yummy! Sweet, the white chocolate is definitely noticeable here. Spray with care, as it is strong!! Would recommend for somebody a bit younger.

I’m new to this site as I’ve been searching high and low for a wedding perfume. After reading the reviews I have blind bought x2 8ml samples and I am gutted :( I can definitely smell pencil shavings and it smells like Zara mens aftershave to me. It’s masculine for sure, and I’m massively disappointed... I wanted to love this but I think I’ll sell the other travel sized.

Tried it with my friend from a sample set. It was my favorite on the paper strips we used. Unfortunately, when we tried it on we smelled like the brown axe body spray that boys would douse themselves in after PE to cover their body odor in middle school. No body odor note to me, just very very strong brown-axe-body-spray-esque. I still like it on paper.

It's a'ight. It's too powdery for my liking. I like a lot of the notes in this fragrance-- something *similar* to this scent profile that I do like is YSL Black Opium.

i get a lot of fake white chocolate, powdery, smells like a clean baby to me. sandalwood is very weak in the back. becomes nauseating, and is very difficult to wash off. disappointing. if you're into clean baby and bad chocolate, you'll love this.

For me this reminds me of pencil shavings and I find it really weak, to the point I can hardly smell it.

Contrary to fragrantica, my experience of the top notes and base notes are totally reversed! The opening is super masculine/very cologney. The cedar + vetiver give's it this sharp kinda minty aftershave feel. However once finally dried down,(15 minutes on skin, almost an hour on my clothes) the real magic happens. Lola becomes this absolute diva, she's like the friend who's completely uninhibited, non judgmental and has a killer wardrobe. Like Samantha from Sex and The City. The scent evolves to become something soft from the orris, warm from the cardamom, and has a slight bite from the citrus/pink pepper. I think it's unisex but gives off badass femme energy. I'm imagining knee high boots, a fur coat, paired with a pink Fendi bag. The longevity leaves nothing to be desired, it's such a slow/reliable fragrance in that it takes ages to 'become' and even longer to disappear. There's only a few fragrances I can name that still smell on my wrist/clothes after waking up. As for where and when- It's not the most casual fragrance. Unless I was feeling fierce (which we all should, all the time) I probably wouldn't wear this to class. But a brunch/debrief with the girls? absolutely. Even better for a night out. All in All Lola's an 8/10 for me.

This fragrance is so hard to describe but I like it. It’s a sweet fragrance with cardomom, faint tobacco smoke or woody/incense and a very muted powdery orris candy accord, maybe like candy cigarettes. Delicious white candy cigarettes in a vintage silver compact, sweet white powder replacing sleek skinny fancy cigarettes. I purchased a discovery set that came in a metallic cigarette case and this was my favorite scent from the bunch. Maybe like a beautiful chic woman wearing Diptyque Eau Duelle ( the softer edt version) that has candy cigarettes in her expensive bag because she’s trying to quit her smoking habit. A golden cased YSL lighter with a tassel dangles from her keys. The smell of her trench coat makes her miss a sleek smoke after church and the sexy cocktails from a night before. She steps into the elevator with red carpet that will take her to her quaint Parisian flat.

Not a safe blind buy at all. I thought I would like this because I am a sandalwood lover, and I am a fan of the candles from this brand. This was definitely not for me. I would consider this a unisex/nighttime definitely fall/winter perfume. It is a very woody powdery sandalwood, and I don’t find there to be a lot of sweetness. The Cedarwood and vetiver make it extremely woody and I find more masculine. I think it has an old-fashioned smell to it, almost dusty, and I personally don’t find it appealing. Very heavy in the dry down and strong ambery/muskiness. It is very strong though, and I found it difficult to scrub off. I much prefer more sweeter, creamier sandalwoods like “this is her” or “king of flowers”

I think I’m anosmic to a lot of this (maybe the cardamom?). On me and on paper it smells very vaguely synthetic sweet. What I imagine a white chocolate flavored lip smackers chapstick would smell like. I get no spiciness or woodiness, no depth just fake white chocolate smell. My friend smelled it and found it very interesting and spicy so it isn’t the batch. I cant accurately review a scent I can’t smell but I’m writing this as a consideration to blind buyers as it would be sad to spend so much for so little depth. I found a lot of my discovery set to be rather one note, so i’m not sure if it’s a shared ingredient, but I simply don’t have the nose for these.

Reading through the reviews, you'll get how complex this fragrance is. Everyone has a different experience of which notes dominate. On me, I primarily get orris, cedar, and sandalwood, with a hint of white chocolate. The other notes are there, though, and it develops as it lingers. The lily note is really beautiful, and the cardamom is bearable for me, as someone who isn't usually a big fan of cardamom notes.

Update: this is a masterpiece I thought this was mid so I kept a sample but decluttered the bottle. And now I am sad. This actually wears so well on me in the Spring. I think its probably highly temperature dependent, and needs some time to get to know it. Im seeing now that its an easy, very pretty reach with a lot of complexity, which for me is rare. Now I have to find it again 😅😂

I don't own any other fragrances like this and I still can't decide when I would wear it but I absolutely love it - it smells like the 80s to me. Its vintage and woody and sweet. Inexplicably addictive

I don’t get white chocolate from this at all. Just a vague sweetness but only a little. The rest is woody and dusty. It reminds me A LOT of Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze. Same dustiness.

A nice sandalwood perfume with coconut elements even though coconut is not listed as a note but I smell it. Too subtle and not unique enough for me to want a fb of.

Mysterious strong smell like a chernobyl radiation!
