Disclaimer - I am a huge Dita fan . I own her books , glossy photos , and even some of her underwear range She is just wonderful. However , Im not so silly as to "love" a frag JUST because I love the celeb. For all my respect for Miss VT , I still could'nt part with the dosh if the frag was poor. Happy days though - It is to my taste! Dita did extremely well here. I liked reading Jewelsie42 review which summed the scent up very well , and Its good to know that Dita put a lot of personal love and care into the project. Before she released this frag , there was a thread here on fragrantica's forum which asked " which celeb would you like to see launch a perfume?" . . . I answered - DVT - of course !! Id also like to see what her ex Mr M Manson would come up with. I had been dying to try this for EONS so I was very happy to receive a tester vial in a swap parcel ( thanks DC!! X) . Im wearing the frag now , and i love it. This is a very classic , timeless smelling fragrance, but still modern. It reminds me of perfumes Ive smelled before , but its not a copy or clone of them either. Its a perfume full of contradictions, thats for sure!! Anyone who has watched the epic film "Perfume" will know the scene where Baldini sits down to try and deconstruct the notes of "Amour & Pysche" ( another makers perfume he wants to copy - tut tut !) Everytime he thinks he has "got" a note , he realises its wrong and says " No , thats not it ! ". Well thats how i was on first test of DVT , it was driving me crazy as it smelt SO familiar! The following perfumes sprang to mind , but i was wrong each time , Catiers Basier Du Dragone - no Paul smith extreme - no ( similar pepper element though!) La nuit paco rabanne - no habanita - no - "ahhhrrrggg , i give up" I thought. ( i have read that Dita actually wears Habanita , as well as Angel and others such as the Houbigant. ) Then ive just read in Rosecat's review that it smells like a "watered down version of Poison" - YES - THATS IT - The eureka moment !! Now I can rest easy and not be "bugged" by what DVT reminded me of! But - Here we are with a "contradiction" again..... A poison copy or clone , it is not. Imagine if Poison's tuberose was replaced with bulgarian rose oil , then mix in a touch of Paul Smith Extremes pepper , Cartiers BDD's smoky incences , Habanitas smoky vanilla and La Nuits spiced rose note - Thats Femme Total to my nose. Ive never smelt Guaic wood , or Tiare flowers in natural or synthetic form so cant comment on the presence of those notes. I like to disclose any notes Im not familiar with you see. ( It makes me chuckle when people say they can smell the "belladonna" in Gaga's fame - really? A - Im betting those people are not familiar with belladonna at all , which is not only poisonious , but is also supposed to stink to high heaven, lol!) Id recommend this perfume to lovers of feminine , classy scents , and anyone who loves Jasmine/rose/wood/musc combos. I think this would be a good gift choice to any classy lady of any age. Not your average celeb perfume. A solid feminine , classic scent at bargain prices. Im going to order the 20ml in that gorg gothic/vintage flacon. Bravo Miss Tease , I eagerly await the launch of "rouge". Ps - If your on this site and evidently a perfume lover , but you still havent seen the film "Perfume" , you must see it!! Excellent movie and I learned somethings about the technical side of perfume.

Dita Von Teese is a beautiful scent on the skin, one that I feel is a homage to the "drugstore classics" of yesteryear. I've definitely smelt something similar to this before, but unfortunately, I can't remember what that is. DVT has created one of the few celebrity scents that I could actually imagine Dita herself to wear. She has definitely been inspired by vintage scents, but this is still very much a contemporary fragrance, as the structure is modern and it does not smell dated. Patchouli features in the base and the composition overall smells sweet and fresher than a true vintage, whilst the opening white florals is what smells the most "vintage" to me. This seductive and enchanting perfume opens as a bursting white floral with hints of something sweet, and the smell is heady, warm, lush, and a bit powdery, too. I think the jasmine and tiare are the most dominant on my skin. As the scent progresses into a creamy and peppery white floral, it always remains sweet, before it develops into what I think is a darker rose with incense. In this phase, the projection is much lower, and it soon becomes a skin-scent, intimate and sexy. Dita Von Teese works very well for me as the sweet flowers are supported by a woody base. I am still yet to smell the patchouli and I will mention that I loathe the stuff, so if it's hiding in there, I will definitely know about it! Except for some unknown reason, I seem to be able to wear scents that have both pepper/pink pepper and patchouli in them. I don't know why that is, but here it just works :) Longevity is for about 4-5 hours; sillage was soft to moderate.

This is incense and rose on a strong woman. While it definitely isn't one of the finest, it does a superb job of mimicking Dita's persona. It starts off strong with a blast of rose however almost plasticky at first spritz. I will say that fades off quickly into a heady warm floral that emotes a sexy darkness. If Erotique is sex in a bottle, Dita is the foreplay that led up to it.I have all of the Dita fragrances, and this one is my second favorite. The lasting power on Dita Von Teese far outlast any of her other fragrances. I find them to be very moderate in longevity which is a shame since all 4 are stunningly beautiful. It's really a bummer she decided to forgo her partnership with this House and move to, in my opinion, a new house without any reputation. Her original 4 scents will go down in Niche History for me. I want to add a side note, just as someone who has been wearing her perfumes since they were introduced. I see below someone mentioned she though she had gotten a fake off eBay because it smelled of alcohol. Well you did. There is a seller on eBay out of Hungary that is selling fakes and or opening and diluting with alcohol. It is only a remnant of her actual perfume and is cut with so much alcohol that it is all you smell upon first spray. Then it dissipates to a very faint scent of what should be there . My husband once made the mistake of ordering a bottle from them and it was immediately sent back and refunded. Be careful with this one as there seem to be a lot of dupes. All of Dita's perfumes smell strong and lovely at first spray.

This is not what I expected. It is much lighter and smoother than I imagined. The peony, jasmine, rose and incense all blend together with no harshness, which surprised me due to the pepper and patchouli notes. I expected this to be louder and obvious but it is like Dita herself: soft spoken with lots of smoky undertones and powdery smoothness. The lack of fruit and vanilla is well-documented and referenced so I won't dwell on that. I will say it is refreshing to have such an affordable and unique fragrance that is so beautifully executed. It is the sort of fragrance which prompts more of the "you smell so good" comments and not the "what are you wearing?" ones. The fragrance just seems to melt into your skin instead of sitting on it, which is probably the musk that allows this to happen. I have begun to wear this for my work perfume because it is light and inoffensive enough for an office, which is also its weakness. The silage is not great and it does fade quickly. At night I add Tom Ford Urban Musk or Lolita Lempicka because these two blend well with it and I like something stronger at night. The bigger bottles do evaporate quickly so just keep the screw cap on or decant. Edit: Mariah Carey's M perfume has the same patchouli, incense and tiare base that is smooth but M has marshmallow, which makes it a bit sweeter. Still, it is a good replacement for this DVT fragrance that is getting harder to find.

This is gorgeous. It's very "Dita Von Teese"---it suits her glamorous aesthetic while not being out-of-fashion. It's so floral, feminine and sexy in the 50s-pin-up way. There's a note in it that smells like make up to me. (A homage to one of her favorites, JPG Classique, perhaps?) It reminds me of some other perfume (a designer one) but I can't think of which one it is. DVT certainly smells expensive; it smells like it costs the same as a Dior. Excellent silage (noticeable but not overbearing) and longevity. Plus, the bottle is beautiful. I got the travel size (20ml) bottle and it's super cute and sort of Art Deco. I ordered this when she was having a deal on her website where you got a free autographed photo card with a perfume purchase; it cost $30! Crazy good deal that I couldn't pass up. Try this if you like feminine florals and Dita's retro style! EDIT: I wanted to add something to my review, something small. I recently bought some beautiful purple hyacinths and was delighted by their beautiful scent! When the wind blows, it sends a lovely whiff of perfume-like sweetness and it instantly reminded me Dita Von Teese! Hyacinths aren't listed, but I smell a big similarity. Interesting considered a couple of other reviews noted the similarity between this and Anais Anais (which I have never smelled)---a perfume heavy on hyacinths, and Dita's first favorite perfume! How interesting!

I just recieved this frag today, bought the 40ml edp from a seller on ebay. It was fresh and 100% authentic, I am very pleased. First of all the box is very elegant, black with Dita's signature and sexy corset detail for which she is known for within the fetish crowd. Inside is an instruction inset for inserting the bulb sprayer with her philosphy of "The Art of Creating Glamour" inscribed on the back. The bottle itself is a throwback to the early hollywood era sporting a black tassle and bulb sprayer. The juice is sublime! So exotic and sensual; I want to bathe in it! It opens with tangy bergamot and spicy Bourbon pepper, intermingling with lucious rose and clean jasmine...the tiare flower is so sweet and exotic; it's a heady mixture. The heart comes alive as Bulgarian rose blossoms in the heat of the incense,musk,patchouli,guaic and sandalwood base. This perfume is expertly blended and was given extreme amounts of TLC by Ms. Von Teese herself. She visited the perfumery on a daily basis for a year and a half while she lived in Paris to oversee this very personal project. I must agree, it is her masterpiece and I am etremely pleased I purchased one of the very few that were available. It was soo worth it! I have recieved many compliments from men and women while wearing this today. Sillage is heavy and it is very long lasting, a fantastic evening scent for the Femme Totale! A 10!

This is a warning to all who have purchased the DVT 40ml bottle with the atomizer ~ PLEASE BEWARE that this method of spraying the perfume introduces TONS of oxygen into the bottle and your perfume will evaporate VERY QUICKLY!! I recently discovered this with another perfume of mine, Dior Elixir Midnight Poison, sadly the fact that I used the atomizer it came with, the juice completely evaporated over the course of 3 months!! When I discovered this, I went to check my Dita and sure enough, it was dry as a bone :-(( SOOO SAAAD!! I would hate for anyone else to learn this the hard way, so, If you buy the 40ml bottle, either decant it into a different bottle with a regular sprayer and keep the pretty black one for display ~OR~ keep the little black screw-on cap ON the bottle and then use it as a splash perfume. It really is upsetting that the manufacturers produce these beautiful atomizer bottles knowing that it is the worst way of storing and using the fragrance. Perhaps it is genius on their part, as we need to continue buying bottle after bottle when ours "mysteriously" dries up after only a couple months. This is just a friendly FYI...I too LOVE my Dita signature fume and am on the hunt for a new bottle since mine has "gone with the wind"..fiddle dee dee!

As a fan of Dita von Teese, I knew that if she could make her own perfume, it would be fabulous. My boyfriend bought it as a birthday gift for me, thinking that the worst thing that could happen, would be that it will smell like an expensive hooker. I'm not sure about the hooker part, but this perfume sure smells expensive. It absolutely doesn't belong to the generic, crowd pleasing celebrity fragrances. You can smell how much effort Dita has put into it. (She has mentioned several times on twitter, that she really took the time to make a perfect perfume)This fragrance is very intensive, smoky and sexy. Incense, jasmine and roses. Just perfect. It starts loud and hard not to notice, turns to absolutely sexy and ends pleasant and comforting. Just the way it should. Lasting power is over 12 hours, I can smell it when I wake up in the morning.

This one is the new classic in perfume world.For me it goes to the same range of all these new reformulated classical scents and trust me these are not better than DVT Perfume . All ingredients seems to be synthetic,but who cares.The opening of white flowers with some picant note of fresh bloody red rose is so beautyfull.The musky cloud and clear silky smell of tiare blends with woody tones, then after everything is calming down to dilated unsweet but strong note on some incense-peppery base.All notes are blended very good and clever.It is pure pleasure to wear this new masterpeace of scent for me. So,I do not searching for big old classical scents for high prices.This one is worth to be taken as some seriously modern juice for average price. Bravo,Dita...Always on my top 20...

I admit that this fragrance is a bit more saucier than what I usually wear but I really like, yes it is something I could see a 1940s femme fatale wearing but there is this modern floral sweetness to it that makes it appealing even to girls like me who usually wear the more sugary fruitier scents maybe what makes me like this perfume is that it has jasmine in it which if mixed with the right notes can be both sweet girly and sexy at the same time or if done wrong it can smell pungent overbearing and sour but I think dita got this right there is no stinky overtone to this just a seductive yet still sweet and feminine scent,great for anyone who like me usually wears fruity gourmand scents but wants to try something more seductive without sacrificing the sweetness.

I love this! It does start with a darker vibe similar to Dior's Poison as noted before, but it lights up fairly quickly and the florals takes center stage. To me it's a lovely sweet floral scent, a homage to the classic florals rather than the wispy au naturalle wannabes one gets nowadays. Like a lot of the reviewers below, it does remind me of another familiar perfume- namely Gucci Guilty, but a less high pitched and more floral version of Gucci Guilty once it begins to dry down. That said, I wouldn't say that this scent brings the 40's-50's into mind. It's a floral concoction that's more like a non-brash version of the 80s (if you can imagine). I only wish that it lasted longer on me because after 2 hours or so, it's mostly the musk that remains.

Excellent quality. Yes, I expected something different from any fruity-soupy-vanilla scent as we may notice in these days from every corn because 1) Dita itself is piece of sophisticated art, 2) knowing her professionalism I could suppose it will not be another quasi-perfumery product but from toe to top will be prepared as it should be with name Dita von Teese on packaging. But... it's far beyond my expectations. This is truly eternal beautiful scent that I've never smelled in one bottle. There is subtle rose, elegant incense, brisky peony and absolutely unique dark-melted base. Mmmm, that's my favourite combination. Thanks Dita not to follow trend-besteselers notes and make another vanilla-fruity jelly-like clon. Truly Creation.

Very sensual, elegant, sophisticated fragrance. It reminds me of femme fatales and the divas of Old Hollywood a la Marlene Dietrich and Lauren Bacall. A perfume to seduce, although classy enough to wear on any occasion. It definitely smells expensive, and the bottle itself doesn't look cheap either. Dita Von Teese is very involved in the creation of each of her perfumes, and it shows. The downside is that it only lasts like 1 hour on me before being barely noticeable, and it sits very very close to the skin, so much that I can hardly smell it right after applying on my wrist.

Elegant, beautifully blended fragrance. In a perfume market saturated with generic, nondescript, flatly ambiguous celebrity scents, Dita von Teese actually spent some time and effort making something that she hoped would be different and delightful. Fortunately, she was right! (Especially since I bought it blind.) The bottle is beautiful, the scent extremely complex, changing and developing over time almost more than any other I own. It is feminine, but not "girly". Whether or not you are a fan of Miss Von Teese, give this one a try! It is definitely one of my favorites!

It isn't sold anywhere in Europe except for Germany (it has been launched in England last week though), so one year ago, when my father had to go there for work, I had him buy it. He came back with the coffret containing the smallest vial (ever!) and shower gel. I love it!! Now it's available in Uk, I'll shop for this in the net and buy the biggest version. It has a good staying power (on mne), I also layer it with Bvulgari Mon Jasmin Noir or some oudh oil from Turkey and it's amazing!But I must adimit that I find Madonna's fragrance a bit more elaborated and original!

Dita Von Teese is quite possibly the best celebrity fragrance around these days. This is just gorgeous. It’s a dark smoky floral, slightly peppery, never cloying or sweet, and very glamourous. I smell blended florals, lush but not too loud, balanced with incense and a touch of pepper. The description says this is “elegant, glamorous, sophisticated, sexy, dark, and mysterious”, and I would have to agree it is all these things. If it’s possible, I think this keeps getting better the more I smell it.

I find it to be just a lovely, wearable, floral with dominant rose-peony, balanced with musk(not too clean) and clean patchouli. Not too sweet and it lasts all day on me, though wears down to a slightly woody skin scent. It does have a bit of a makeup vibe going on which lends it a retro feel. For those days when I want to exude femininity, I reach for this one and I also love to pair it with a masculine outfit. I do get compliments on this one when I wear it, which is a rare occurrence for me.

Dit is echt een van de heerlijkste geuren die ik ooit geroken heb. Op de gok kocht ik de kleine fles. En ging er niet bepaald zuinig mee om. Je kunt niet zien hoeveel er nog in zit omdat de fles dat niet toelaat. Daardoor stond ik een week later na aanschaf ineens met met een leeg flesje in mijn hand . Ik baalde best wel want ik had geen zin om een ander parfum dan deze te dragen. Ik ben dus opnieuw naar de winkel gegaan om deze te kopen. Want ik kan en wil niet meer zonder dit parfum zitten.

A very old fashion glam a'la 40's perfume, just like Dita herself. This is how REAL Perfume is supposed to smell like. nothing "celebrity"-scent about it. this is a heavy jasmine/gardenia incense, super potent juice. Complex and smells highend with notes really shifting trough top to base. Heavenly. I agree with the positive reviews on fragrantica. They are spot on! A safe blind buy imo. But not for the parfumista-beginners. And the bottle!!! stunning!!! amazing value for your money!!!

The most sensual rose & Jasmine accord paired with a heavy dose ofpatchouli that becomes smokey as it dries down. It definatly has a vintage vibe to it and would be perfect for a cool fall day or any occasion when you want to feel sexy and gorgeous. I'm glad I was able to get a bottle of this since it is discontinued and now pretty pricey on the bay. It was this fragrance that made me discover that I absolutely adore Rose, Jasmine and Incense combos.

this is amazing. you can tell Dita was truly involved in the creation, it's so well-balanced and the combo of notes is great. it smells sophisticated, but not old-lady-ish. I like the look of the bottle but the cap's not great - it spilt in my handbag and now everything in my bag still smells like this. I don't understand why so many don't like it. I understand it wouldn't smell great on everyone, but it's very nice for a celeb perfume.

I got this perfume as i really like Dita and i love collecting perfume botles, i did not expect it to be that good, but this became my favorite perfume instantly. I only wear this one or the red one of Dita. The small bottle is perfect for your handbag you always have perfume with you and the big one is perfect for your makeup table its such a beautiful accesory. Im 27 and its perfect i been looking for such perfume for a long time.

I got the Dita von Teese as a gift years ago soon after the launch. To me the scent is feminine, sexy and has a Gothic feel. I love anything Gothic therefore I give the fragrance a 10! Perfect for fall and winter months. It was disheartening to read Arnela's mean and cruel remarks about Dita. She shredded a beautiful, talented woman. Why??? Arnela, do I detect a bit of envy and jealousy? But you love the fragrance! Funny.

Finally sampled this perfume over the weekend when I was attending Dita's "Strip Strip Hooray" show in chicago! This perfume is absolutely glamourous! Chic and well thought out! It begins very floral on application then turns into a tad more masculine and sensual! I LOVE this fragrance! Rouge smells very pleasant as well. Dita has taken the time and mastered her take on perfume! I highly recommend this fragrance!

I adore this fragrance; it s so unusual and I suddenly feel like a glamorous movie star from a bygone era! I would agree that the 40ml spray evaporates quickly; looks are not everything it would seem. I have Dita s other fragrances and longevity is poor with this one, which is such a shame as it is really unique. I have a 20ml bottle which I ll save for now. For the price, you can t really argue!

The creamiest, dreamiest jasmine, rose and soft incense mingle on a base of sandalwood, pepper and musk. Very pleasantly surprised by this. It's vintage-inspired without being vintage but also not modern. Very pleasing. Soft sillage, clearly meant for those that get close, and I really love that. Glamourous, effortlessly elegant.

Wow, this smells amazingly good! Sophisticated, elegant and ladylike. In the top notes, I can detect some white flowers. It's also a bit powdery at first, but not overly so. It's got a lovely vintage feel. As it dries down, the rose becomes more prominent. Again, very sophisticated and sexy. Good lasting power. Potential buy :)

I love those kinds of dark/ mysterious/sensual perfumes. This one is one of them. Absolutely chic, feminine and seductive in a very elegant way. Extraordinary perfume for extraordinary women. I own 75 ml bottle and a little one- purse spray 20 ml as well. Very well done, Heather Sweet as known as Dita Von Teese!

Actually like it a lot. It's not exactly what I was expecting from Dita - thought she'd come out with something smokier and spicier - but I do think it suits her. I mainly notice the jasmine in this. It settles down into a really pretty floral after a few minutes and has surprising longevity.

Just've tried this one in a drugstore and now I'm really considering buying it. It's a mature sexy scent made for women who want to seduce. A lot of incense going on here. I think that musk always adds to the scent some kinda of a sexy sultry vibe. Longevity and sillage are moderate.

This is insta-empowerment, bottled. This fragrance makes me feel bulletproof. Still, it's not one that would last - in a bottle, that is, for it works perfectly well on the skin. But I bought my bottle a year and a half ago, and, well-stored, it lost most of its kick.

I just received this as a gift... My other favorite scent is Pure Poison by Dior. This evokes in me the same emotions. I think feel sexy in it. My fiance nuzzles closer when I am wearing it as well. I guess that is all that matters.

On me this divine scent smells like a lighter more feminine version of Poison. I find Poison to be overpowering and intimidating whereas DVT is intimiate, demure and highly addictive!!!

This perfume is a floral perfume but yet very daring and sexy and it screams " DITA VON TEESE " I pretty much enjoy this scent and i think it is more of a winter night scent .

This is a great comfort scent when I need to beat the blues or am overcome by bad memories - I'm surprised by how much I like it. Lovely bath range, too.

Has anyone tried this yet ? Ive not seen it for sale anywhere in the UK yet. . . Eagerly awaiting a sniff of this !

a sharp floral in the top that develops with benzoin, myrrh, musk, patch, jasmine, peony and sandalwood

I love this fragrance so much! And I want to cry knowing that is has been discounted :(

This perfume is the only star scent I like. By now... Out of 2 reasons. First. The scent itself is very good (I will explain why). Second. It proved that Dita was a fraud. I will explain that also. First I will start with bottle. To my taste it is wonderful. Both versions and I have both. Very art déco. Beautifully standing on the vanity. The bottle is made by a German designer and got a prestigious award remember? Deserved. More complex than modern boring bottles. But that's me. I love beautiful complex vintage or vintage-inspired bottles. Love the small one to carry in the purse... If she would remain only with this perfume and bottles, improving glass quality with something... Some vintage glass maker/ house, silk tassels with Japanese silk, red real stone (many are to choose from) and make it refilling I would be happy, very happy... she would have history. She didn't. She decided to abandon this perfume. Big mistake. Because perfume is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Unique in the harmony. One of the best leather scents in many many years. Like leather on the nude skin. It's in there. Sniff... Poring out of the skin, like a waterfall of Tahitian tiare and Bulgarian rises, wrapped into leather. Yes, leather is in. Perfect. Very good composed perfume. I would make it more saturated. Stronger. Opening longer. The fragrance opens with fresh bergamot, peony and Bourbon pepper. It works so well. Opens mysterious and arrogant. No matter how good peony looks. It is a very arrogant flower. Do you have a garden? If yes, then you know how that plant behaves. Like a beautiful woman, one who knows she is beautiful and must protect herself with arrogance. Ohh yes. Wonderful opening. Bourbon pepper is inviting, saying "Give me attention, watch me, only watch, don't touch." Seductive privacy. The heart is definitely Bulgarian rose, Tahitian tiare flower and jasmine placed on a warm base of incense, patchouli, musk, guaiac wood and Sandalwood... There is a bit of powdery amber also. It ends powdery. Vintage. Silage is wonderful. Lasting powerfully till the last breath of base. It behaves great on the hair and even on the clothes. A few years ago visiting Paris me and my husband visited Crazy Horse to watch Dita's performance. Expensive. Overrated. Uninovative. Pale. Few minutes on the stage. Short, curvy, shy, constantly hiding ageing woman. I assume she has good career handlers. Because she sells a story. Not reality. She is a money machine maker. I remember how she was explaining in one of her interviews "I style my hair..." She doesn't. Do you think she is innovative? She is not. It's all imitation of stuff we saw in history. Putting it together under the name of a beautiful woman. I have her Beauty mark book. All advice written is from Hollywood classical-era actresses. She at least studied them. Remember the advice about red 💄? None is from ArtDeco line with her name that she, that's what she said, invented. So you have a chance to make your make-up line and you don't wear it? C'mon. Coco was wearing her Chanel 5 all her life. All that she is doing has nothing to do with vintage life. Actually, she is the protagonist of destroying the vintage lifestyle. From porn (that she did) to perfume... She will do everything to make money, selling fog so that she doesn't have to live a real vintage life. She is just a facade like some other Hollywood movie dolls. You name it. Product of Hollywood factories of illusions and lies... Parfum. I love. Parfumer did great work. Inventing something that ridicules Dita. Having nothing to do with her.

Like her other perfumes, this starts off very alcohol-y upon immediate application. This was bought from a reputable distributer, not eBay. It smelled almost a little 'stinky' at first, I think from the bergamot, but after a few seconds, it's opens up to a beautiful floral filling up my nose. A lot of peony and a lot of jasmine. It's a warm opulent 'dark floral'. It feels very classic and old school/vintage, as well as a sophisticated, elegant, glamorous darkness, .....so it's very Dita, lol. After about 5 minutes, it's a pretty rose and a bit peppery. There is basically no sillage here, though I can smell it within 6" of my skin, where it is a pretty full scent still. Very beautiful and intriguing though. 10 minutes after applying and it's already a lot less strong and basically on the skin :/ and a bit more soapy floral. This started as 'mmm, this is gorgeous and mysterious!' to already being like, 'oh, are we done already?' I still do smell it quite a bit on the skin, but wanted more. 30 minutes in and I can start to smell a bit of the sandalwood and guaiac wood. Perhaps a tiny bit of the incense and patchouli? I'm also HEAVILY sniffing on my arm because it's become so faint and trying to see what I can get. It's not gone, but it's like a muddled whisper of woody white floral now on me and it's hard to really pick anything distinct up enough to analyze it. 35 minutes in and ah, there's the incense. It starts ever so slightly sweet and floral and has a smokiness after when you sniff. It's now become almost all wood and smoke, a lot like her Erotique perfume, but less intense. You're still only smelling this lightly on the skin. White floral scent jumps in and out of coming out. An hour later and I nearly forgot I was wearing this. There's just a faint skin scent left where I have to put my nose to my arm to smell. Interestingly, it seems like mostly a jasmine left. And at the 2 hour mark, a clean, fruity, jasminey tiare flower. 5 hours later and there's still the faintest white floral on my skin, but it's very subtle. This perfume reminded me a lot of Alien at first with the musky white floral and slight wood. Towards the end it changed, but I was surprised with the similarity in the beginning. While this scent is 'old school,' I don't see this as a dated old lady scent. It's mature, refined, clean, feminine, and modern. I first tried this about 3 years ago and actually really didn't like it. But I think now I've come to appreciate more types of perfumes and it might have felt a bit too 'grown up' and subdued in a way, rather than what I was expecting, which was young and fun (not sure why, maybe because of her playful burlesque routines as well as celebrity perfumes usually going that way). This is like a modern update of old perfume, an homage to old Hollywood glamour.

I blind-bought it based on the reviews here. There was a cute gift set available in TK Maxx, so I thought why not. Dita definitely is a solid bet when it comes to her fashion/makeup/lingerie choices so perfume should be no different. And it isn't, although I must admit that upon initial spray I cringed, it was so not "my style". However, as time progressed, the scent settled to a comfortable, sexy aroma that projected nicely without being overbearing. I know this comparison is veeery far-fetched, but I think it oozes the same vibe as Fracas does without the cloying drama that accompanies the latter. I know there's no tuberose in this one, but the overall feeling is of the same classy, vintage-y, smoky sexiness. I appreciate Fracas but even one spray gives me excruciating headaches, so the more happy I am about finally having something in my collection that gives me the same feeling minus the side effects. I'm afraid I cannot really distinguish individual notes in this one, it's very well blended. Normally I cannot wear patchouli (my arch enemy in perfume), but it's very subtle and wearable here, making the fragrance a tiny bit dirty and rough but ever so slightly, in a very classy way. It projects nicely and lasting power is very good. The drydown is my favourite part, it's woody, roughed up but rounded with incense/musk/sandalwood.

Today unexpectedly my 20 ml bottle of Dita run out and my history with this fragrance has ended. I think I would never come across this fragrance, if it wasn’t for my friend, who got tired of it and gave it to me as a “second-hand” gift. It was quite an intimate fragrance that I used to use for cosy summer evenings, while going out alone or before going to bed after a shower. At the first glance I didn’t find anything special in it, but lately I started to appreciate its fresh blend of my favorite florals, particularly peonies, roses and jasmine. Quite smooth and pure perfume, neither sweet or overpowering. It creates a feeling of laying down naked in silk bed linen. Though I used to use it for evenings, I would say it rather brings morning memories to mind. As if a you are being woken up by ocean breeze coming from an open window, that pulls up a white crispy clean window curtain and brings into the room smell of roses and jasmine blooming in the garden, as well as smell of peonies standing in a vase on a window cell. I have never worn this fragrance in public, not because I thought it wouldn’t be liked, just because I wanted to keep my “relationships” with it private. It was my comfort perfume. So simple and so good. It will be missed.

On first application I can detect the bergamot, and I think there is also something similar to a tea accord; I can't pinpoint everything down, but it reminds me of some kind of herbal lend of tea that a co-worker regularly brought into work... I normally dislike perfumes with jasmine as I find it heavy and migraine inducing, so it nice to ind a fragrance including it that I can wear. It is actually the rose note that is the strongest, and it is more rosehip, then the traditionally powdery, sweet rose. I get a brief whiff of tiare, but the pepper note soon develops and hides all of the florals, other then the rose. Dita Von Teese soon shifts from a floral perfume to a warm oriental, as the lightly smoked notes develop and mixes nicely with the spicy pepper and warms up the reminder of the fragrance. I really like the actual fragrance, but, unfortunately, the longevity and silage are both very poor. On skin the fragrance barely lasts more then four hours, so I tend to spry it onto my bra or tank top, too make it last longer. Otherwise my 20ml bottle wouldn't have lasted very long, as you practically have to bathe in it for a lasting fragrance.

I was actually very impressed. Celeberty perfumes usually smell cheap and really, really sweet, and even though I didn't expect a sweet perfume from Dita, I was very surprised when I got it. The smell is very mature. It is sort of vintage but with a modern twist. It is that sort of perfume that when friends smell it from the bottle they tell me it's for old ladies, but the same friends compliment me, and ask me what it is when it's on the skin. It is a scent that everyone think they hate but on the right person and skin it is very pleasant. It is defenitly not for everyone and I am quite young for wearing it, even though I think I work it ;) It is very much a night perfume. Sometimes when I have pamper-time before going somewhere I put this on even while getting ready to put me in the mood. The only thing I don't like about it is the bottle. It looks cool and everything but for me it is really hard to get perfume out with that squishy thing. Sometimes all that comes out is air and I have to twist the top. It also leaks somehow... I wish this had a better bottle, then I'd love this to a thousand!!

I could test this one eventually! I was curious about it. Apparently Dita von Teese was annoyed by the fact that her mother-in-law wore her same fave Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant, SO she wanted to make her own perfume! I bet she keeps wearing Houbigant while earning money on her celebrity scent which by the way it's not so cheap considering that the bottle is very small (20ml) The bottle first of all it's a masterpiece of wanna-look-sophiticated-sexy-but-I-couldn't. It's black plastic in an oldfashioned style with pump. Serious, not frilly at all, just austhere and plastic and AWFUL. The scent itself is not bad. It depends on points of view and where you start judging. In the sea of plasticky gourmand celebs Dita von Teese stands as elegant powdery floral. It smells mostly of jasmine without any ooomph with a powdery base, almost like jasmin talcum powder and it's not a bad smell. It's tamed and faint, not annoying. The first impression is nice but it doesn't keep promise after half a hour. It could be a casual daywear to smell clean and soft. If you are looking for Perfume, look elsewhere.

I do like it although it is not my typical scent of choice. Took me a couple of days to get used to the sweetness and it helped it being in the winter. Floriental fragrance, warm-spicy and sweet, but not overpowering or sickly. On me, it works better with my body than on my clothes, as it actually develops a little soapy as I wear it, which I like. Starts off with the sweetness of white flowers and peony, slowly revealing sandalwood, patchouli and a very gentle musk. I get a bit of pepper after about an hour or so. I was looking forward to the incense but I don’t really get it, which is strange. The sweetness slowly subsides as it develops, whilst woods and sandal become more prominent. There is something a bit of ‘salty-toffee’ about it, especially at the beginning, with a bit of spice but gentle. Nice, non-offending, sensual scent which I can wear around the office as well as during a night out with friends. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Cruelty Free.

When Dita said that this perfume wasn't for everybody she meant it. Far away from the trend of fruity vanilla scents "Dita Von Teese" is a serious recreation of a vintage fragrance: very floral, very powdery and smells like a real grown woman. This perfume reminds me of my mother because I find it really close to "Anais Anais" by Chacharel, a fragrance she used to wear in the late Eighties/early Nineties. For this reason I feel a little bit uncomfortable to spray it. But If I think of Dita while wearing It, I am liking it more and I imagine this to be a little bit naughty. It totally reflects her style and personality. However it's growing on me and surely it's a gorgeous perfume that will add a different vibe to any perfume wardrobe.

I saw this in a store and finally there was a tester to try it. I sprayed some on my arm and immidiatly a soft, sweet, musky, woody scent evolved! I threw it in my bag and bought it for my mother! She had to have it! It ́s such a nice, well blended, perfectly mixed, classy scent. I was sure that I smell Vanilla in it, too, but appareantly there isn ́t vanilla listed in the notes. Anyways, I gave it to my mother and she was very excited! She agreed that it ́s a very classy, mature and warm scent. She said she likes it alot, too. My mothers favourite scents are Opium, Hypnotic Poison, CK Obsession and such. So I guess people who like musky, spicy, woody florals will also enjoy Dita von Teese ́s fragrance.

For a scent that seems to be marketed as an homage to vintage, old-school European fragrances (Dita has eloquently explained this on her HSN visits), this is actually subtle and easy to wear with not much sillage. The notes are pleasant enough as nothing is supersweet in this blend. I pick up some white flowers, woods and a bit of spice. The smaller sized bottle & tassle are gorgeous. It lays flat on your dresser as opposed to standing up. Dita has followed through with this and her other scents which are quite nice too. It's refreshing to have a celebrity really give direction and input into their fragrance line and buck the trends of sweet stuff on the market.

Great perfume indeed, but I cannot see any similarity to John Galliano. Yes both have incense, but this is as far as their similarity is going. This one less mysterious and the flower notes are more obvious. Still it is a great night perfume. Very elegant, totally different from the rest of celebrities scents I have smelled until now. Maybe younger girls who are more into gourmands or florals won't like this. At my skin I can smell more the jasmine and the peony rather than the incense, although it is a heavy scent. I would like to smell the rest of her perfumes if possible although they don't have the same nose behind.
