Rouge

I ADORE this fragrance. It smells exactly how I was expecting. AMBER is absolutely the predominant note here. Pink pepper is also detectable at first spray giving you that spicy twist but it quickly disappear in order to let the Lotus flower and Chinese Black Tea making their entrance. In the dry down phase the strong amber note shares the scene with a hint of woody notes. I can't properly detect bergamot and orange but I'm sure they are there somewhere in the opening ;) The 20 ml bottle is just so beautiful. It's a precious jewel to display in your beauty wardrobe or perfume closet. The glass is thick, the velvet bow cute. The only thing: the "gold" chain and spryer aren't that shining as displayed in promo pictures. They are more a "grey gold" which looks kind of cheap but it's ok. This gives a more vintage vibe to the whole experience and I guess that's exactly what Dita wanted. Also: I find this perfume really masculine. It could be easily be worn by a man. Don't be afraid. FIVE STARS.

Here's what dita thought about the making of rouge: "Since teaching a woman proper burlesque can take a good long while, lets make a perfume that allows a woman to invoke her inner Josephine Baker or Gypsy Rose Lee." (Not a direct quote from DVT, just my interpretation of what she may have thought about for the creation of rouge) This perfume isn't trying to be more than it is. It's simple and sexy without trying to be pensive or overly sophisticated or stuffy. In other words, like a burlesque dancer, rouge allows the shape of its notes to speak for itself, revealing its charms slowly. Lets not try to elevate this perfume to niche ranks where it was never intended to be. Enjoy it on its own merits.

Fragrance that is light and airy. The first notes are orangy and somewhat fruity, with a lovely refreshing dash of bergamot and a mild trace of pepper. The perfume has a clear powdery sense to me, but it might also be the dry woods that come out the most in the end, amber sweetens up the entire composition, and the lone flower is a clean large magnolia. A clear very heavy flower with notes of tea, honey, powder, and dry smokiness. This perfume reminds me of warmth; it's warm, soft, and fluffy, like a clean cashmere sweater. Deep, subtle, and beautiful, with mild silage and excellent duration. Stunning!

This woman just cannot disappoint me. While the first perfume is sharp, and hard not to notice, Rouge makes me feel very comfortable. It's less smoky and more woody. I guess it's the tea note that stands out for me and makes it so seductive. Some of you might disagree, but on me it smells a lot like Dior Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle. Again Dita designed a quality perfume that has good sillage and lasting power over 12 hours. I am pleased with the bottle design and the fact that the bigger bottles are also without an atomizer. Atomizers look pretty, but their function is limited.

Wonderful! Love at first sniff :) It's is warm, velvety, comforting, feminine, and boudoir like. It has that makeup, leather 'n lipstick smell. It's like warm pleasantly intense amber, mixed with jasmine and leather. By looking at the notes, I wasn't sure it was going to be my thing. I am glad I tried it Thanks to reviewers, well described and truthfully praised fragrance. This is one of the best celebrity scents outthere. Unique and well done! Very deep, warm amber feminine perfume. The opening is heavy on the bergamot and pepper, and after 15-30 minutes the warmth of the amber and woody notes kick in. I think the perfume suits Dita well, and definitely makes me feel as glamorous as she often portrays herself. I do think a bit more sillage would be better (it's a very intimate perfume and develops quickly), and I also think there's a note somewhere that makes it smell a bit synthetic. Other than that, I really do love this scent.

Rouge is most definitely a 'red' scent! Spicy and warm but thankfully not too strong. I notice the magnolia, pepper, sandalwood and amber along with assorted other spices. I don't notice the tea though. This is a very sexy yet appropriately wearable scent not to be put aside just for evening wear. I do think Rouge it's better appreciated in autumn and winter though. The beautiful bottle, as with all of Dita's other scents, is a tactile pleasure and a joy to look at.

Out of the original Dita and Fleur, this has the wow factor for me. It s hot and sexy and has a smokey passion about it. It reminds me of an old gentleman s club, cigars and leather, very dignified. It is the woman who walks through the room and all heads turn! Unfortunately, it needs to be frequently re applied as longevity is not great but as with her other fragrances, you can t argue for the price. Definitely stands out from other celebrity fragrances.

I find this one very seductive airy oriental,no sharp egies and smouldering scent.It is deep and soft at the same time.I tryed it with some of my perfumes,so can admit here that Bvgary Black and Rouge by Dita VT are perfect couple made together .Love the scent of red liquor melange theese two blends together ...Very nice and unusual.Perfect for the colder seazone ... Red velvet perfection Unique perfume, high class aroma, jewel bottle. I cannot describe this wonderful perfume from Dita. Aromatic oriental with heavy pepper note where lovely woods and magnolia mix altogether and produce this unforgetable smell. Long lasting with a decent sillage. Go for it if you appreciate Boudoir and Boss intense. Looking forward to try Erotique.

Fantastically pleasant incense based fresh tea with a hint of oriental notes. That's what I imagine as vintage scent, and I can also visualise as Dita herself wear this perfume. The drydown reminds me of Oriflame Nomadic her, but in that there is more citrus, and Dita Rouge is much more sexier.

Super warm and subtle amber with the undertones of a firepit deep within an autumn forest. I can nearly taste those velvety flames.

I love the warm & peppery smell of this, but the longevity is really poor, at least on my skin.

This was a blind buy for me, or rather a blind-present I wished for, as I like Dita's first perfume and both are surprisingly affordable. The 20ml bottle is extremely pretty, again. The shape, the way the deep red reflects the light, beautiful. The notes listed are straight to the point I find, at least I for once actually smell them the way they are listed. The opening is orangey, slightly fruity with a good refreshing dash of bergamotte and the most gentle hint of pepper. However even during the rather fresh opening this scent is just not light. When the magnolia turns it's volume up after a while, things get more heavily floral, sweet, but not only so, as there is a balancing tea note in there, very slightly dusty and smokey black tea. The perfume has a definite powdery vibe to me, it could also be the dry woods, that come out the most in the end, amber sweetens up the whole composition and the only floral is a quite noticable clean big magnolia. Tea, sweetness, powder and dry smokiness, a clean rather heavy flower - to me this scent evokes coziness, it's warm and cuddly and furry like a clean cashmere pullover. For grown-ups, mind you, no simple musk+laundry+vanilla cozy powdered floral, there's more sophistication, and it evokes the same idea but in a different way. Yet, it's not all that complex, there are not as many interesting layers unfolding to my nose as I'd dare to hope. For my liking it could be a little bit more full-bodied, a bit more dense, but then it might as well suffocate you in dry, sweet powderiess. Like Dita's first perfume, I find it rather easy to wear, with an extra amount of glamour for everyday. I wear the most loud and intense scents for non-special occasions too though, so.. probably most people will find it more suitable for evening and special occasions I suppose. Longevity is good on skin and paper, sprayed once it has quite strong sillage, so you're not getting watery juice by any means despite the low price-tag. Like the original launch Dita von Teese my bottle is produced by Luxess in Germany, so this might explain why both are most early and readily available in Germany and countries close by.

Unlike her other fragrances, this one didn't open very alcohol-y the first second of applying on me. It's was a beautiful sweet powdery fruity scent. After a minute or two of applying, I get the Chinese tea with it, too. I know berries aren't listed, but I feel like I can imagine an artificial red berry scent. This is very vintage and glamorous and feminine. I imagine a beautiful young woman at her makeup vanity in a vintage setting, someone that loves dressing themselves up lavishly and wearing makeup (so...Dita lol). Like has been mentioned, this is like an old school sexy and feminine. Though also like her other fragrances, there seems to be basically no sillage. I do smell it within about 6" of my skin though. It's also a lot more 'tame' than her other scents and lighter, but still pretty. A bit too powdery for my personal tastes too, but I still enjoy it. 15 minutes after applying and I'm smelling the wood come out and pepper. And after 30 minutes, it's pretty much a skin scent, but still there. 45 minutes after applying and I get a scent I've seen listed on many other perfumes- plastic doll head scent. It's not bad actually, but it's got that powdery, vanillay, slightly fruity scent you get from old squishy doll heads. Update: 3 hours in and I still smell it on my skin. It's very powdery, I imagine an old timey showgirl, like a cancan girl, all dressed up at her vanity with this now. The longevity is so far the best of her fragrances. 6 hours later and I can still smell it well on my skin. Impressively, 9 hours later I could still smell this on me, albeit lightly and with my nose to my arm, but it was definitely there. I had to take a shower so couldn't tell you how long until it completely wore off, but this has so far lasted the longest of all of her perfumes.

Rouge is fairly simIlar to her signature perfume, but I prefer Rouge as the florals are powdered more, which gives the perfume a more timeless yet vintage feel. The longevity is also a bit better [6 - 7 hours]. On first application I can detect the listed bergamot, the mild oranges traces (which fade very quickly on me) and what I think is the pepper. the star here is the long tea accord, which carries all the way through to the base. I normally dislike perfumes with jasmine as I find it heavy and migraine inducing, but I think there's some here and it doesn't bother me. The listed magnolia is powdery and by far the strongest floral note present in Rouge. I also get a brief whiff of what I think is tiare, but the pepper note soon develops and hides all of the other florals. Rouge soon shifts from a floral perfume to a warm oriental, as the lightly smoked wood notes develop, which mixes nicely with the powdery magnolia and still-lingering tea accord and warms up the reminder of the fragrance.

I absolutely adore Dita, her taste in perfume and that she fights for the things she believes in. Her perfume collection is the best example: Offering these unique, quality scents at that price point: My hat's off to her :) PLUS - finally another "celebrity" perfume I actually think is real - if you know what I mean. I am totally convinced that she loves and wears her own scents. I'm awaiting Erotique and her original scent in the mail and can't wait to wear them :) Rouge is another gem and facet: powdery, ambery tea heaven. I've never smelled Lapsang Souchong tea before but can say that a tea note is very evident, adding a somewhat dry aspect to the perfume. Very classy and perfect for a nice dinner, night at the opera etc. (or whenever one wants to feel classy ;)). Btw - the powdery aspect reminds me of the Oscar De la Renta Esprit D'Oscar powder note. Maybe that's helpful :)

Deep, subtle, elegant with that characteristic Guerlanesqu'e base - powdery-anise, that's why I noticed L'Heure Bleue's note in base. Less sprakling that classic Dita but more mysterieus, softer. I feel powder & amber, Rouge reminds me velvety-red curtains, in a little bit oldish style but with no doubts served with a modern twist. Again - very good composition, as far as Dita doesn't dissapoint. Bravo. On the market is full enough of that fruity-sugar jellies, good for her she knows what she wants, regardless peut-etre of popularity. However I might point poor sillage, though longevity is very good, scent is lying very close to body, that's pity because I love more powerful perfumes (and it's eau de parfum) especially when it's really good smell. If you're looking for elegant, grown-up scent Rouge should be good choice.

Rouge starts with its fruity notes and turns after the first few minutes into a really smoky tea-note, so the shown tea plant here might be confusing: Rouge contains notes of lapsang-souchon tea, which hasn`t got a light green-tea note but smells more like incense. Then magnolia shows up and turns the scent into something more flowery, accompanied by hints of warm amber. In my opinion, the "rouge"-theme has been well fulfilled: the scent has something warm, red and seductive. And the flacons are both adorable!

This one, while I like it, is my least favorite. I love the peppery sweetness, but that's about all there is. Dita's perfumes: all 4, are not complex, but I find her other 3 to be a bit more sexy and sultry. This one while pleasant is not special. The longevity on this one is moderate, similar to the others. This reminds me of VW Anglomania, but just doesn't get the layers like VW does. I have a full, 20ml bottle up for trade if anyone is interested. Please dm me

this is the first and only DvT perfume i've tried. i just tried it because i really liked the notes and the tea note seemed kind of interesting. it smells kind of classic and it's a very dry woody and ambery scent on me with bergamot and orange, which are stronger at first but then blend in as it dries down. the amber and smoky powdery incense remain pretty prominent on my skin with the tea as a smoky supporting character.

Divine! I can't explain what I smell, but reminds me of my childhood, when my parents took me to the theatre and there was something similar in the air ... so mysterious!

Subtle & sexy close to the skin Amber . Just a bit powdery which I like . Longevity could be better but over all a nice scent for the price .

My first impression of this is that it smells nice but it's incredibly boring. Not seductive, not warm enough for a fall scent (which I purchased it as), not "red". All I smell is amber, amber, amber. Also reminds me of some baby wipes I used to buy from Giant. Oh well. edit: Boyfriend couldn't stop sniffing this on my neck. He said he smelled something like anise to which I replied this frag don't have that note iirc. I wear this by day since I think it lacks the warmth to be worn at night.

At first smell this one appears to be an improvement to Dita's first offering and it seems to have something. However, soon it turns out to be yet another cheapish perfume that pretends to be sexy and glamorous. It reminds a bit of La Prairie's "Life Threads Ruby", but without even touching its class. In addition, after a while this kind of rotten undertone develops that some (not necessarily cheap) perfumes have. One might argue that it may nevertheless be inspiring to wear some vulgar and slutty scent from time to time, and I tend to agree. Perhaps someone is looking for the kind of "cheap perfume" Brian Molko mentions in Placebo's "Nancy Boy". But even if you are looking for something like that, you should be aware that this one has this effect for perhaps ten minutes. After that, only a mixture of grocery scents and rotten cosmetics lasts. Thumbs down, what a waster. *

I was impressed with the originality of this fragrance compared with other celebrity fragrances. It seems dense and plush and I can see how it fits its image well. Rouge opens with burst of juicy citrus followed by the rather forceful amber and vanilla which take the stage with the magnolia providing the floral backdrop. It dried down to a powdery finish and lasted well on my skin. If you like amber fragrances this is definitely worth a try. Rouge was a blind buy for me which almost succeeded. There is a dry, smoky note which doesn't agree with my chemistry. Another website lists additional notes of patchouli, guaiac wood and sandalwood. If they are correct, then I think the stumbling block for me is the guaiac. It's a shame it's not listed on the scent pyramid because it's a red flag note for me.

I want to love this fragrance, but on my skin it smells so very medicinal. I'm not sure where I'm getting this quality. Like red, syrupy cough medicine. The magnolia in this sticks out to me, and I think maybe I don't get along with magnolia. I don't get enough of the amber and smoky notes that others do, and I wish I did as they are my favorite. Overall, this was a disappointment to me. I revisited this fragrance and realized why the magnolia in this rubs me the wrong way - it smells of play-doh. The only thing I smell in the first few hours with Rouge is play-doh. Towards the end of it's life it begins to open up into something beautiful, but I can't stand wearing this when it smells dreadful for the initial few hours.

Very boring, flat and sinthetic. Nothing interesting. Despite a nice description here, just one more dissapointment. For what matters create smells like that?

On me this smells like rubber tires, plastic and oil with a powdery touch... In others words - this did not work out. Sorry Dita.

When I first laid eyes on the Dita Von Teese bottle for Rouge I knew I had to have it, and it took an ebay seller in Bolivia (no kidding) to get it to me. So how does this non-Dita fan rate the perfume? The Bottle: I bought the small red flacon. Does it look as good as the picture? It sure does! It’s a nice heavy red glass and the diamond cut looks great. The little velveteen bow is very cute and is real fabric. I absolutely have to give Dita credit for really honing in on the old world glamour. The colour of the bottle and bow are just so vintage I feel like I just accidently opened Betty Page’s purse. Another lovely thing about the bottle is that if you hold it in your hand in the sun the red colour reflects and glows on your skin, which is oddly sexy and mysterious if you ask me. The chain that holds the little clip is not as sturdy as I would like, but everything else is so adorable I’m not going to go to war about it. The Juice: I bought the first Dita perfume and although I was wild about the bottle I just couldn’t love the fragrance. In fact, I even found it hard to like the fragrance – it reminded me of a barber shop from my childhood. Thankfully, Rouge is a winner! It starts off with a rich floral/incense smell, and settles into a light floral with a sort of “old perfume” undertone. It’s almost a shock to smell a perfume that doesn’t have a fruity/sugar dimension. What I do like is that the perfume really does reflect the bottle and the adverts. I’m getting mighty sick of all these way-out celebs with crazy bottles housing bland fruity/floral concoctions. I still haven’t forgiven Lady Gaga, Nikki Minaj and Nicole Richie. It also lasts well. I put it on at 7:00am this morning and it’s still detectable some 8 hours later. It also changes at various points of the day. Availability: I’m in Australia and the first Dita perfume is available at Target, but this one is not there yet. Dita’s perfumes always seem to have some sort of random distribution thing going on. Not that I’m worried - I don’t want to smell this on anyone else but me (and maybe Dita). All in all, I’m very impressed. Just goes to show that some celebrities are interested in creating a fragrance that is true to their image, rather than repeating some marketing department drivel and slapping their name on yet another version of Someday or Fantasy.

Strange. I can ́t detect any smoked tea note nor any amber (raw or otherwise). I do smell pink pepper, some wood and a mild magnolia. By no means is this bad, but it ́s not at all what I thought when reading the reviews. It got recommended to me as sultry and sexy when I asked for something in the vein of AP ́s Maitresse. No one said it would be similar per se, but that it ́s sultry and mixes well with skin. Not to me it doesn ́t so skin chemistry by all means. To me Dita ́s Rogue lacks oumpf and I don ́t mean that as in brightness and intensity, but rather in something that keeps me interested. (In Maitresse it ́s the yellow ylang and the violet leaf). Maybe if the bergamot in the opening would have been stronger? Or if the magnolia would have been slightly "frothier" (like in L ́ Instant)? Now, it just doesn ́t do it for me and in all reminds me of something I ́d just spray on casually after a shower when I ́d just sit around at home or go to the deli. It reminds me of Victoria ́s Secret Dream Angels Heavenly- i.e. cozy enough, but bland and unoriginal. Oh, well - I have and adore Dita ́s original fragrance.

This fragrance smells exactly how I would think Dita would smell...Smoldering elegance with a heavy hit of mystery. I definitely pick up the intense Amnber and Magnolia that dries down to a very warm sweet sort of powdery scent on my skin. Normally, I don't go for Oriental fragrances, but I really like this one. It's not one I would wear on a regular basis because sometimes it's a bit much for my fuity/floral preferences; however, this is a fragrance that would make any man that walks by you look twice and turn around and follow you... It's dangerous and sexy.

A true oriental: Warm, deep, spicy. And very elegant. The scent opens with a lipstick magnolia (a note that's both floral and smells of old makeup) and dries down to a rich smoky amber. The drydown is actually a dead ringer for Bvlgari Black - probably due to the lapsang souchong note they both have (a black smoked tea). I own and like Bvlgari Black, and I do enjoy a more floral and feminine version of it. All in all a very nice, rich and somewhat dark oriental with a burlesque feel. Great sillage and longevity. Good job, Dita! :)

So, I start with saying that is a 'strong' scent but not too much. Like the amber is very intense in this fragrance so that's why it is 'strong'. But it is also floral. Like a nice combination for an elegant & chic fragrance (like all of Dita Von Teese's fragrances). The bottle is also very elegant & cute with the little red velvet butterfly node! But the problem is that I don't really like fragrances with a lot of Amber but this one is very nice to smell because of the floral side to it :) Rating : 7.5/10

A delight! My skin really holds onto the orange, which is cradled by a bodacious magnolia with a *poof* of powder hovering over it all. A lighter note (the tea?) huffs and puffs and somehow lifts the whole composition, while amber assists in holding the lot of 'em together. Simple and sexy without a lot of change from start to finish - good one, Dita!

Shades of Casmir Chopard mixed with Hypnotic Poison eau Sensuelle, with a hint of Deep Red Hugo Boss in the dry down to me. I swear I smell almond in this, and vanilla. Definitely liking the Lapsang Souchon tobacco smoke twist. Sweet, dense and syrupy with a hint of smoke, very much like a burlesque show in an old red velvet decorated club.

Rouge really is a good name for this scent. Red berries in vanilla and with a hint of something peppery. Maby even Pink pepper. A bit to sweet for me I think but otherwise quite pleasant. The drydown is very close to the skin. As with Dita von teese I think the bottle is an absolute horror to get open though. I have the small one.

Housed in a ruby glass bottle with a cute velvet bow, this pretty offering from DVT's perfume range does not have as much impact as the others, but nonetheless it smells nice. I could smell soft spices and amber; so if you like oriental scents, you will like this.

I really wanted to like it because I admire Dita's style and I liked the description but this is too masculine for me. To be honest, I could not stand it after the first time I tried it. I can imagine it on an older woman maybe, but I definitely regret bying it.

A far cry from the typical celebrity scent, Dita’s first line was stunningly mature and rich. I’m so glad I had the chance to experience this one before it became a rarity. It’s a beautiful reminder of a time when celebrity fragrances felt truly artisanal.

I love this scent so much, and am heartbroken that it is discontinued. It reminds me of my mother's vanity, from the 1950's and 60's. The smell of her perfume and cosmetics. It's so sexy, vintage and warm. Does anyone know of a similar scent to it?

I love this! It has a beautiful flowery sweetness with a hint of something darker. I can really smell magnolia here. It's just so elegant and suitable to wear in many occasions during the day and at night.

I have a nearly full bottle of this, if anyone in the U.S. is interested in a trade.
