Devotion Pour Homme

This one's for the collectors and coffee lovers. Surprisingly, it really does smell niche quality, a truly bold and unique fragrance amongst the typical designer slop we've been getting. The only thing I've smelled that's remotely close to this is Green Stravaganza, but the resemblance ends at the coffee notes smelling vaguely similar. The scent itself is characterized by that lovely, dark coffee note, it smells quite vivid, in the same way the tea note smells in Imagination. The best part of this is how the lemon note intersects the coffee, they just contrast each other beautifully somehow. It never feels like a battle between the bright lemon and dark coffee-patchouli, instead more like a dance. The patchouli is very good too, I don't tend to really notice it in other fragrances, but I can easily pick it out and enjoy it here. Performance isn't too bad, but definitely less than you would expect for this sort of profile. The lemon is sadly quite short-lived though, its pretty much completely dissolved into the base by hour 2. I wouldn't call this mass appealing, but I wouldn't call it offensive whatsoever. If you own any Prada scents, the projection and sillage remind me of how they perform, so luckily someone would have to be pretty close to you to even really smell the gentle and enchanting aroma of Devotion in the air. Although its pretty dark and earthy, I think you can get away with this on cool summer evenings, or even in the office with light spraying. Devotion is versatile, but I think it would best be worn on a date, especially with a lovely lady who enjoys coffee. (who tf doesn't like the smell of coffee btw) This is an elegant, gentlemanly scent; I think a lot of the hate on this comes from younger reviewers, and I can understand this not hitting a home run for younger audiences. All in all, I'm genuinely impressed by this. For a designer scent, this truly feels unique and fragrances that don't smell like anything else in my collection get bonus points. Worth it at discounted prices.

When I smelled this one for the first time I have to admit, just breathing in the opening straight off the strip I was like, what on earth was this perfumer thinking? However.... Thankfully I still put the strip in my pocket and went about my day. When I got home I pulled the strip from my pocket and smelled it again and was totally blown away! The messed up, confusing opening that felt like several different notes scrambled up had calmed down into a beautiful coffee off the top with an earthy, almost dustiness to it with just enough citrus in the background to keep the coffee and patchouli more on the lighter side instead of going full dark and heavy. Because of the citrus savior in the background it makes this fragrance a bit more versatile than you would think when seeing coffee and patchouli as the two main other notes. I would recommend this for Spring, Fall, Winter, maybe a cooler summer night but definitely could be a signature scent during cooler months. It’s a very unique scent and there is nothing on the market that I can think of off the top of my head that it reminds me of. Sample before you buy on this one because the opening is a bit of a mess but give it 5-10 minutes and then make your opinions. This fragrance didn’t get much hype coming out so I tend to think it still has yet to be discovered by a lot of people and as of right now is just receiving it’s typical Fragrantica bashing that most new scents receive when they first come out hence the low score that it doesn’t deserve. If you like the smell of coffee mixed with a dusty earthiness and just a hint of freshness in the background check this one out.

Genuinely no idea what the hate for this one is about. I'm currently wearing it and it smells so intoxicating. I'm about 8 hours into the wearing experience and it's still present; I'm loving the wafts of this that I get in the air. It may not be a beastly performer, but it has the perfect sillage/projection for a date night or a formal affair. When I got this, a female friend was over and she love this one as much as I do. I'm definitely going to burn through this bottle. The DNA is really loveable, especially if you're into a nice coffee/patchouli combo. The lemon is blended well so it's not at all out of place in this fragrance. I get a little powderiness and some muskiness with this as well, but to me, those add to the appeal. I love the female versions, as well, and as soon as I remember which one I like more (OG or Intense), that'll be added to the collection. I really feel like D&G did something a little different with this line and I adore it. I also like their K line; it gets a lot of hate as well, but they do blue differently, and if a niche brand had come out with them, they could charge some premium prices. Long story short- smell this stuff before you write it off. These reviews honestly don't represent the fragrance that well. It is more of a crowd pleaser than a lot of these reviews will have you think and imo, it's absolutely easy to wear.

Very good fragrance from D&G! You can't help but applaud Dolce for stepping outside of the box and doing something different. When I first initially smelled this fragrance I was kind of 50/50 on the fence about it. I liked it but I also didn't like it but the part of me that didn't like it was because it was unusual and it was different so I just wasn't used to this scent profile yet. This is definitely a scent that I would not blind buy I recommend going into the store trying it on skin of course (always try on skin) and asking for a sample. Another thing to know is that Dolce & Gabbana is is not being cheap when it comes to the presentation and ingredients that they're using in their fragrances nothing smells synthetic in this fragrance from the coffee note to the patchouli and the lemon it all blends together very very well. I look forward to using this fragrance in the upcoming months living here in Texas to see how it performs in the heat and summer nights. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this especially if you are into fragrances or if you're just getting into fragrances this is a nice quality borderline niche designer fragrance that will make you stand out from all boring blues and freshies.

Fast forward 10 years from now — this one will be discontinued (I already know it's a commercial disaster for the brand). The fragbros community will go nuts on social media, raving about what a masterpiece it was and how it flew under the radar. Bottles will start popping up on eBay for 600€ each — just look at what happened with Fleur du Male, Kokorico, M7, and a few other commercial train wrecks. To be fair, though, this truly is a masterpiece — one that's been lost in an ocean of Quentin Bisch’s hit releases. Most of them are variations of the same chemical soup the fragbros go bonkers over: loud, long-lasting, and selling like hotcakes — yet you practically have to peel your skin off to get rid of the smell. Coffee and lemon make for a surprisingly brilliant combo here — like two separate roads that never intersect, yet somehow coexist beautifully. It’s a subtle accomplishment that few have recognized or praised. Honestly, it deserves an award — but I doubt it’ll ever get one. The patchouli adds a gorgeous base that ties it all together. I can’t wait to get my full bottle. Grab one for yourself — even if you don’t like it, you’ll be sitting on a goldmine in a decade.

At first it smells like candy. After a quarter of an hour, the coffee slowly appears and gives off a beautiful new scent. Of course, the coffee is never bold at all and after about 2 hours, a lovely warm vanilla scent like Ani by Nishane on the nose. The scent in this phase is like a little sweet lemon with coffee that is 2 layer under of this lemony scent. This perfume have a unique scent and I can't remember any perfume that have this scent till now. The fact that this perfume has received so many dislikes and hated is really surprising to me. This perfume is not at all bold and sharp or unusual smell that the general public would hate it and the fact that most of the people don't like this perfume is a big question mark in my mind. اولش بوی آب نبات قیچی میده. یه ربع بعد کم کم قهوه ظاهر میشه و بوی جدید زیبائی میده. البته قهوه هیچوقت اصلا بولد نیست و حدود ۲ ساعت بعد، یه بوی گرم وانیلی دوست داشتنی مثل عطر آنی از برند نیشانه به مشام میرسه. این که این عطر به مقدار زیادی دیسلایک و تنفر گرفته واقعا برایم تعجب آوره. این عطر اصلا بولد و تند و تیز نیست و یا بوی نامتعارفی نداره که عموم جامعه از اون بدشون بیاد و دوست نداشتن این عطر از نظر من یک علامت سوال بزرگ در ذهن من هست

I'm actually surprised by the low rating, out of many designer fragrances I've tried that came out recently, this was one of the ones that stood out to me. Now I've only tried it on scent strip (two times) at sephoria so I guess my experience with it is limited, but I liked it enough and found a good discount on it online (45 bucks for 3.4 ml) that I pulled the trigger. Looking forward to try it on skin. I'll reserve my rating until I do a full wearing. Edit: So apparently the fragrance I tried in sephora was the parfum, not the EDP. So I blind bought the EDP thinking it was a different profile lol. So it seems the parfum is more of a safer buy and a bit more typical compared to the EDP. I like both, but the EDP overall is probably the more interesting one of the two, as it is completely unique. I've never smelled anything like it and can see why it's not going to be for everyone. I'm really digging it though, at least so far, hopefully I don't get sick of it with more wears. Personally I think it's completely unisex, with maybe a SLIGHT masculine lean. I think this is good for fall, winter and maybe even spring.

Some of my all time favorite fragrances are Dolce & Gabbana. When K released in 2019, I was excited as it was the first new pillar fragrance for men since The One. Unfortunately, K did not jive with me nor did any of it's flankers. So, I had high hopes for this new Dolce & Gabbana Devotion Pour Homme. I am surprised to see how divisive this fragrance seems to be. It is the first release from Dolce & Gabbana in years, that feels like they went back to their roots! Devotion almost feels like a throwback to the classics like Pour Homme, yet done in a modern way. The coffee note reminds me of the way coffee was used in Dolce & Gabbana By for Women. This fragrance smells very Italian in it's structure with the vibrant lemon opening, coffee heart & patchouli base. I picked up my bottle while in Italy, matter of fact. Devotion is quite versatile, can be worn year round & would make a great signature scent in my opinion. Somehow, this fragrance seems to be polarizing yet to my nose, it's very pleasant & likeable. I definitely need to get my hands on the new Parfum flanker next. Devotion will remain in my collection!

In my country, we have this medicine where we take ground coffee in a spoon, squeeze lemon on top of it and then eat it sort of as an old health medicine. (It works too.) As soon as I sprayed this, I smelled exactly that. For some people the notes and the dirty combination are unorganized, sticky, and messy. However, this scent evokes pure nostalgia on me. I love the dirty combination of the coffee and citruses in this. I also love the fact that I finally got to see a not mass-appealing fragrance from a designer brand. The combination of citruses and coffee, as well as the dirtiness of the coffee, is so dirty and so complicated for me, which is why most people dislike it. I, on the other hand, absolutely love it. I cannot speak for the longevity and the projection. However, for me, it went on for around 6 hours, which is pretty perfect for me.

Absolutely my favorite release of 2025, instant classic, NOT for everyone, but the simple olfactory journey will leave you sniffing your wrist ALL day, fades very quickly as a skin scent (maybe some nose blindness) but LASTS on clothes. Very mature, sensual, close scent. Its projects but it doesn't shout, its very inviting and warm. I hope it stays around for a long time as its truly a hidden gem, I got 2 bottles on sale for just under the price of one and im desperately waiting for the next sale bc im going to do the same exact thing. I layer this with spice bomb metallic musk and it helps give a nice rounded scent profile with more of a sharp contrast, (devotion on the wrists and spicebomb on the neck/chest so it doesn't overpower everything) absolutely my go to for fall/winter so far.

I really like this one, it’s super interesting to me. The house only lists three notes, but it comes across as more layered than that. The citrus feels so realistic, almost like a slice of lemon left next to a glass on a café table as you dine al fresco, it’s been warmed by the sun, but is still juicy, and zesty. There’s a soapiness to my nose as well, I wonder if it comes from the patchouli, because it’s also giving me something sweet, spicy, and woodsy that’s really pretty. The coffee is there too, but more in the background. It's rounded, soft, and not overpowering. Overall, it’s beautifully put together, simple on paper, but it wears with a lot of character. I have the women's version as well, and I must say, I'm enjoying both equally.

I fully believe many people hate on this one because it's D&G and because it's designer and not niche. But it smells niche, let's not kid ourselves. A friend who works at a local shop who knows me and knows I'm not huge on patchouli told me "want to smell a good use of coffee and patchouli?" and she made me sniff this one and I thought for sure it was a niche brand. I didn't believe it when I saw what it was. Definitely Cresp's work, for whose who know. It's not the most accessible fragrance, it's very dark coffee and earthy as heck from the patchouli but damn if it's not super interesting and maybe even intoxicating. Perfect for this time of year, too. Definitely cooler weather wear. This is going into my Fall rotation for sure.

I blind bought this fragrance and after reading reviews I began to get incredibly nervous about it. I've heard many reviews alot of them negative. I'm here to say I STRONGLY disagree with the negativity. This is an incredibly fresh smelling coffee scent but I only get coffee for a short 30 minuets or so but what comes after.... the dry down... STUNNING. I love woody, amber, spicy scents and own many of them. I bought this without the woody spicy patchouli notes in mind but it is the star of the show. This will go into my immediate rotation for years would absolutely recommend this to any aged male but a trully mature, distinguished scent.

Hard to believe that this one has a perfume rating of 3.34. Good perfumes are loved by everyone, the true masterpieces though divide people - you even love it or hate it. This is an absolute masterpiece and niche quality, still flying under everyone's radar. It is the best perfume D&G released since the original Sicily - it took them nearly a quarter of a century. The Parfum version has nothing to do with this one, just a "panic" release to satisfy the taste of mainstream customers. As I said before, this will soon be discontinued and turn into a unicorn - just like the original M7, Gucci Envy, JPG Fleur du Male, etc.

It's unbelievable why people don't like this scent. This is amazing; the first time you smell it, it seems kinda undecided and vague and this makes it alluring; it won't follow your expectations and each time it surprises you. The scent is new and kinda revolutionary; it is so calming. Unlike terre intense that has coffee and citrus while smelling like stone, this one smells really clean and clear not opaque, and the fact that coffee can smell that fresh and herbal, or that citrus can smell that hot (from coffee) is amazing. Overall the scent quality is 10/10. Design is great too. Performance is middle.

Such a divisive fragrance and I love it. Best designer frag to come out in the last couple of years to me. Lasts the whole day probably into the next somewhat and clothes for days. Smell your atomizer after you’ve sprayed a couple of times this is what’s in the air as you walk by and it’s glorious. It was a blind buy for me based on the notes and the nose behind it. The low rating on here and the negative reviews were just a bonus ensuring me it was probably good. 9/10 Minus one for the gaudy emblem on the bottle the only thing I don’t like.

While loving the original Devotion (pour femme), I sprayed this one by accident and... what a nice surprise! The warm spicy goodness on my skin developed into coffee notes only after an hour, but I would definitely classify this one as unisex. It doesn’t have much of “masculine” character to it, since it plays along with beautifully rounded patchouli. Lemon is hardly present, however black pepper, although not anticipated, is making an appearance, as well as skin notes. This is a fragrance to wear with a leather jacket to rock this spring.

My Signature Scent, my daily driver, i will smell like this for half of the year at least. This fragrance is 100% me. This baby is my no.1 and nothing beats it. Fresh, citrusy opening that turns into a Cafe Romano. The coffee note is a green, raw coffee with the characteristic almost sweet earthiness that you find at a coffee plantation. Dries down into a masculine, fresh patchouli. This one has gotten me the most compliments and has become a part of my identity in the 1 month i have used it. This one is staying for a long, long time.

Opens with fresh lemon that's bright and sharp, but gone in a flash. What follows is ground coffee: dry, roasted, almost bitter, more raw bean than brewed cup. An airy patchouli joins later, making a strange balance that somehow works. It wears a bit odd, linear and almost unfinished, but that’s part of the appeal. Feels more niche than designer. Rough-edged, intriguing. Not a crowd-pleaser, but the kind of scent that lingers in the back of your mind. The one you end up coming back to (as I decided to get a bottle).

This reminds me of jo malone- oud bergamot. Convincing rich coffee with a smooth lemon note. Fairly simple and masculine. Develops into a more generic expensive smelling shower gel, I wish it kept that coffee opening. Smells manly and very expensive. A little rich for my taste, feels too heavy to wear at the office for example, but very pleasant. It has a nice subtle sweetness which keeps it light. Performance is about average.

I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. I didn't like it then. Second attempt, yesterday: love at first sight! I bought it immediately. The smell : the very first minutes, the fragrance smells like rich coffee. Afterwards, my favorite part: lemony (lightly sweet) and patchouli (very slightly earthy). The performance is average-good. The smell is a change from the current ultra-sweet trend in fragrances for men.

Second opinion (and still positive) : I think that for the past few years, the new trend has been towards very sweet perfumes. When a new fragrance doesn't follow this trend, the reaction from the Fragrantica community is mixed. To be honest, Devotion pour Homme smells very good and performs well. Two mature women spontaneously complimented me. My 20-year-old daughter, who loves perfumes, also thinks it smells good.

Last year at Douglas after shopping, I got a D&G Devotion PH tester as a gift for my purchase, and decided to give it a try one night, and I fell in love. I'm a mild coffee addict, so I naturally fell in love with this. This gives me a hazelnut coffee vibe, which I dont understand why it gets so much hate. It's more of a dressy gourmand, rather than a youthful casual one.

Not super beast mode or anything but a really really pleasant classy smell. Almost like a butterscotch dum-dum. Really impressed with how realistic the coffee note is. Wearable and not polarizing, nobody would get upset at you for wearing this fragrance. If you like the smell of coffee its blind buy safe, this is like a million times better than Amore Cafe by Mancera

I just sampled this and didn't realize it was a male scent and it is now my favorite. Smells LOVELY! I am not into male scents, I feel like this leans a little feminine maybe more unisex. I don't smell any polarizing male drivers like Cedar/blue citrius blends/spicy leather...none of that. Just simple Barely there lemon and more coffee & patchouli vanilla base.

I bought it today.This is an incredible fragrance that is set apart from others beeing a lemon & cofee one...To anyone who thinks that stinks just try it and see what people will say to you...This is really too sexy to handle! I ll stock 3-4 bottles because they will discontinue it i think...when they do , the rating will explode to 4.60...remember my words.

Very special, the base is modern, deep soapy base, almost barbershop, but remains modern due to the minimalist patchouli note, the aura is sweet earthy burnt coffee and light caramel, and sugary lemon. Since the scent is similar to an edt, it fades after 2-3 hours, a very sophisticated Italian perfume. very masculine 30+, Similar to "A*Men Mugler"

So, if you let it set for an hour , you re gonna experience a super sexy scent that will boost your confidence.This is not the typical soapy drydown fragrance...this is a real man's fragrance that he is confident ,sexy and dont give a s$#t about what others think.Great one, out of the box.Thnx Mr Cresp...

This here is just beautiful. Simply beautiful. It's dark roasted coffee beans and a lemon tinge at the bottom. Basically a male Devotion. I love it's simplicity. Ya'll can stick with the basic YSL EDPiss scents you love so much since you're afraid to wear anything outside your comfort zone.

What can I say...when a nose like Olivier Cresp hides behind a fragrance, it is difficult to be disappointed...and even if it is classified as a men's perfume, I would define it as unisex. An elegant and sophisticated perfume, I almost prefer it to the women's one! Rating 9

To all the haters just try to put this on for a day and let people smell you.I m saying it with good intentions because you will see how it develops on you by the time and let me tell you, its so elegant sexy and bold all in one.This is gonna be my next signature scent...

This one is really nice. Very pleasant coffee note, with a touch of sweetness, and a hint of (lemon?). I don't know how, but at least for my taste, it works beautifully. I appreciate when designer houses try something a little different and little daring.

i bought a sample from sephora , tested a few times and then macerated for a few months... now it smells like an americano coffee.. bitter, aromatic, sour and earthy, just like a black unsweetened coffee

Female here....saying I love this fragrance. Very simple. A little citrus but the main two notes are coffee and patchouli. It's warm and comforting and great! I would say this is unisex, not masculine.

Eventually became my signature.I ll wear it till.its discontinued.This is the most incredible and intriguing fragrance i have smelt the last 20 years at least.This thing is A M A Z I N G.

My new signature. This is what I was hoping BOR Greenstravaganza was. This is a fantastic, unique scent that stands out and makes a statement but is fairly mass appealing.

As a woman I love this. I don't care how it would smell on a man, I want it all over me, just a pure coffee- sugared lemon scent, which I love.

Devotion Pour Homme is a woody, spicy, and slightly citrusy fragrance. I smelled this fragrance both on skin and in blotters, and there were some differences. On the blotter, the coffee aroma was more intense and the citrus wasn't noticeable. However, on skin, I did notice some somewhat synthetic citrus notes at first, not sparkling at all, but they were there. As the minutes pass, the citrus fades into the background, leaving a subtle vanilla coffee aroma and a woody patchouli accord. The aroma of this combination is pleasant, but it doesn't captivate you at first use. However, I dare say that the composition of the perfume is relatively different from what's currently in fashion. Although a few years ago, Ferragamo launched a fragrance based on citrus and coffee called Uomo Casual Life, which was even fresher than Devotion Pour Homme, the latter doesn't remind me of any other perfume I've smelled before. I think the usage scenarios could be an everyday perfume, to wear to the office, for outings with friends, formal and informal meetings, etc. Its longevity in the uses I've given it has been between 8 and 9 hours, but one thing I noticed is that it causes olfactory blindness, because at times I couldn't perceive it anymore and then later I could clearly smell its aroma again.

Funny story I actually almost got into an argument with someone because we were trading, and I was getting this, and I thought he gave me a bad bottle. It's definitely unique and I didn't like it at first. The opening is still weird but it lasts less than 5 minutes and then it gets better and better. If you're a fan of artisan light roast coffee that has high acidity, it's like that. It's not a huge projector, it lasts a medium amount of time. But I don't know, it has a je ne sais quoi that keeps me coming back. Sometimes I think it smells generic; other times I think it smells trendy and new. It's not amazing if you put your nose up to it but I think it's quite pleasant when you catch a whiff of it in the air. I remember I was sitting on my couch, bummed that this guy gave me a "bad bottle", and then I kept smelling something really nice and being like, "That's not me is it?" I used to consider Prada L'Homme as my understated and inoffensive scent that I could wear anywhere but this is my go-to for those situations where I want to smell nice but not draw a lot of attention to myself. This is understated and sneaky good.
