As the last reviewer mentioned, this was incredibly hard to find! But I found it and now my Anthology collection is finally complete! I was expecting this fragrance to be a strong robust scent due to the name but instead it is a light, masculine but youthful scent due to the citrus notes that weakens the tobacco and woody notes. I like it but not as nice as the Le Bateleur 1. Great find though!

D&G L'Empereur is hard to find but finally i got a bottle. The package/bottle design is sober but elegant. L'empereur starts citrusy with an iris base (almost non-existent), after few hours it becomes more woody and boozy type of smell, like anise with sandalwood and cedar accords. Sillage: moderate Longevity: about 4-5 hours on my skin

This is def not a summer time frag, I don't detect any iris, tobacco or water notes, even citrus notes won't hang around longer than 2-3 mins after spray. like @bogarde said, this is boozy, warm, woody and balsamic. This is a kind of scent that grows on you over time.

Lightly powdery and lightly boozy balsamic woods with a rather persistent aquatic citrus that lasts for the 4 hrs of this scent's duration. There's no sweetness in this, at least not as far as I can tell. Really good in transitioning weather, cool or warm.

Had an opportunity to try this one. Unfortunately I didn't notice any iris here. To me L'Empereur smells like hay, or any other dried grass, or even like a bay leaf. And that's not tobacco! A bit woody, absolutely not sweet and not sexy, quite weird fragrance.

this was released months and months ago, def not in o-12, but anyway smells nice glad i was able to get a bottle before it started becoming hard to find. anyone curious as to how it smells, think of the taste of those ol school root beer candy barrels.

I NEED this. NOW! 4 is my favorite number so even if it is a disaster, which I'm sure it isn't, I still have to have it. When will you be released in the US?! : (
