D&G Feminine

EDIT 2: I got the Vicolo Fiori by Etro because apparently that was also supposed to be a close one to Feminine - it is not. It has a bright and cool open note but the dry down smells like Zest soap. The Kenzo Flower Mimosa also is not it - it has that powdery vibe but the dry down is vanilla. Also, checked out Jubilee Scents as mentioned in the comments but they don't ship to Canada. I sent them an email to see if they plan to in the future. At this point I just might try and satisfy the urge to see what Ebay has to offer - but ideally less than $200. ----- EDIT: I bought both the EDT & EDP of Kenzo Flower - EDP is the closest to Feminine but is still missing that yellow floral. I do have a tiny bit left of mimosa from Yves Rocher and I layer the two to get close to that beauty that once graced me with it's presence. My ADHD hyperfocus on finding something similar might bankrupt me...ugh!

Update - Jubilee Scents ships to select countries so I couldn't get theirs but I got a dupe from KDJ Inspired that does ship internationally and it is similar. The initial spray smells like more aquatic water lily but the middle notes aren't too far after with the powdery florals. It's not a 100% but it is pretty close. I think from all the ones I tried the closest would be Kenzo flower EDP. I do layer it with a Mimosa that I have from Yves Rocher but I don't think they make it anymore. I did recently grab Yellow Iris from Demeter to see if it could be a good layering option and it's actually pretty good together with Kenzo Flower. All in all, I hope one day someone creates something like Feminine or they bring it back all together because that is one perfume I don't think I will ever get over.

My signature scent in 1999 until discontinued - seemingly a great year (1998-1999) for women's perfume IMO. This is a sensual, clean musk, perfectly balanced with lily, jasmine and sandalwood that would attract both men and women to me. This elixir would compel them to follow me, grab my arm and ask, "OMG, what are you wearing?" As flattering or annoying as it got, I did love its sillage, projection and the acknowledgment ;) I wore it all the time but personally enjoyed it most in the fall. I have purchased it online but it is not the same - it smells off - perhaps because of poor storage. I never understood why Dolce&Gabbana discontinued Feminine when it is obviously a masterpiece. Still on the look out for something that comes close ...

Fate would have it that ALL of my favourite perfumes get discontinued. D&G Feminine being one of my signatures at the time together with Feu D'Issey and Yohji. If you're wondering, their niche prices nowadays are well justified. They were niche quality before the market was even invented. So, back to D&G Fem, it smells exactly like the bottle. Cold, icy, dry and silver. Musk. Light like white cotton yet deep, woody and musky. A unique aquatic musk. Not soapy. So well rounded you never smell the mandarin or vanilla or flowers on their own, are they even in there? Men could wear it as well. It has no real name because no perfume name would fit. It's not a perfume it's a silver cloud.

I read once that when a beautiful perfume such as Feminine gets discontinued, it's because sometimes a company might be unable to find a key ingredient for that perfume and this can happen if the product is no longer made or if they would have to order the ingredients at a much higher cost from a different manufacturer. When the company’s only other choice is to change the fragrance we love, they might opt for discontinuing it instead. Also, when a certain ingredient is found to cause irritations, or becomes something that cannot be sold or imported from a specific country, as a result the manufacturer is unable to recreate that scent, resulting in a discontinued fragrance.

Feminine is charismatic and unique with an alluring edge. It is a fine blend of creamy-floral-light-musky scent, pretty, sweet, poised and very sexy. It opens with heady mimosa: some oddly aged and damp kind of mimosa, which could be quite overwhelming for the first 15 minuts. Then it smoothes down to a creamy bouquet of white flowers accorded with just the right portion of musk and vanilla that lasts. In the end of day it smells almost angelic, really amazing! The transformation of this scent is like Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair lady": not all that aggreeable at first, just give it a little time to develope, the loveliness in it will gracefully emerge, like a fair lady.

I bought this perfume as soon as it was out and my God, wasn't it ME! I kept buying it until they discontinued it and even after, spending small fortunes to secure myself at least a bottle. Simply wonderful fragrance. The first whiff one gets is that of mimosa, wisteria and heliotrope. Soon after cashmere wood, musk and sandalwood make their entrance. I noted this fragrance reacts best on slightly alkaline PH (i.e. cold skin type). On me the sillage last a full day. I get always compliments when I wear it and needless to say this perfume truly deserves them. The only one I ever loved of D&G, although I don't mind their Light blue in small doses.

I have been looking for this for so long, thinking it was called Femme and was from another brand. And now I finally saw it when I was looking for a musk perfume - my heart jumped for joy that I finally found it again - I had it once and thought it had roses as the main note together with the musk. And then I discovered that it is discontinued... just when I got my hopes up! Why do they always do this?????? And always to the most beautiful fragrances they have!! And they make all these new flankers of their mainstream ones. So, so disappointed... does anyone know something that smells like this one did??? Please give me a PM if you do!! 💔

This was a favorite of mine. I was sad to see it discontinued and would love to find a replacement. it was the kind of scent you just wanted to wear. It was just like your favorite shirt or pair of jeans that made you feel just right. A soft, beautiful floral that wasn't overly sweet,with a slightly musky/ cashmere dry down that just screamed feminine....hence the name. My all time fav D&G fragrance.

This had a beautiful fresh floral opening— so clean and crisp. The musks were also white and clean. The kicker was the juxtaposition of all of this with the creamy woods and slight touch of vanilla. It was creamy, like a refreshing lotion in a scent. It was. Discontinued, unfortunately. But this was a perfect scent to carry in your purse to spritz on the go. Impossible to overspray this scent.

Oh my goodness I had forgotten about this until right now. I should have guessed it would be discontinued. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale Florida so this scent was great with the heat. It had a coldness about it, but still somehow comfy. I used men's fragrances when I was in my teens so this was perfect for me then. I'd love to smell again just to see the memories it brought back.

If I, as a person, could be a perfume, this would be it. It had everything, the clean, fresh, sweet, powdery scent... Refreshing in summer, cuddly in winter. I loved this scent so much, I was heartbroken when it was discontinued . Why would anyone discontinue scent like this one. Never found anything even closer to this. Amazing. D&G, I wanna talk!

WOW! I really, really, really love this fragrance, clean, fresh, soft, powdery... for me it's amazing. The drydown is beautiful and deffinetely feminine without being too girly like or sweet. Good staying power. Great for every season. Classy and beautiful. For me is the best Dolce&Gabbana scent and it's quite underated. Truly one of my favourites!

I can't believe it, that I am writing another review on an another amazing discontinued perfume. It became my signature scent shortly before it got discontinued...how annoying is that? :( It was so beautifully musky and sensual. I think it represented Dolce & Gabbana very well...and yet...they discontinued it. I don't know what's their problem.

truly beautiful and different.stays with you all day long...warm and quiet,soft,lingering around even when you can't smell it anymore.and then someone will ask you what perfume you're wearing...amazing!it is made for true romantics and women that appreciate balance,small words and big deeds.

I love Dolce Gabbana's Feminine. The best perfume I ever had! So soft, feminine och powdery. Simply the best! Since it is discontiued I'm trying to find another fragrance that is as beatiful as this one. If anyone knows a perfume similar to this one, please let me know! :)

I first bought this in Florence, Italy and it conjures up great memories for me. It's a nice, light floral for daytime wear. It must react very differently with one's chemistry - I was surprised at the number of reviewers who can't wear it!

I was finally able to get my hands on this. Soooo excited I love the way it's smells on me. It's a sexy,musky, powdery scent. I'm impartial though this scent reminds me of some good times in my life.

Soft, lotion-like creamy with some of the best luscious florals. Drydown - I'm speechless, very da best! Clean soft musk:) Safe close to the skin scent with moderate silage.

Yet another of my favourites to be discontinued. I love this and anything that smells remotely close. It reminds me of my favourite childhood sweets!

The best of all: delicate, fresh, chic and super sensual. I love it so much. Too bad that it has been discontinued.

Having just written my review of 'Vanilla Suede' by Ariana Grande, I had to come here and see if this scent was still in production, but alas it turns out that it was indeed discontinued. The reason that other perfume brought me here was because 'Vanilla Suede' reminds me of 'Feminine'. No, they're not exactly the same. But they both contain a soft citrus, a soft musk, and a soft woodiness (among other notes) and there's a very similar overall vibe from both fragrances. 'Vanilla Musk' isn't as strong as 'Feminine' and whilst 'Feminine' was a gentler scent back in the day, it *was* still (IMHO anyway) a much softer perfume than many of the other fragrances I was wearing at the time. Discovering that 'Vanilla Suede' has this similarity to 'Feminine' was a really happy accident, so if you loved 'Feminine' and are missing that 2000s classic, at the very least go give 'Vanilla Suede' a tester spritz; and test it both on your skin as well as the little cardboard tester strips, because it needs to really get in with your skin chemistry and body head, before it reveals its full potential. (I spritzed the tester into the crook of my inner elbow, because that was one of the only places I could get to that didn't already have another perfume on it...then when I got home, I scrubbed off whatever remnants of 'Sweet Tooth' by Sabrina Carpenter that I still had on my wrist, before rolling my sleeve up and seeing what 'Vanilla Suede' really smelled like. I wasn't just "not disappointed", I was REALLY pleasantly surprised!) So yeah, if you remember 'Feminine' with fondness, go test out 'Vanilla Suede' by Ariana Grande and you might just find your olfactory senses being taken - even partially - back on a journey through time and space, to the early 2000s when things were a helluva lot simpler, and an oddly divisive fragrance from D&G had men going wild for those of us women who were smart enough (read: crazy enough to blind-buy) to invest in a bottle of that unusual mixture of musk, citrus and gentle woodishness. Just test it out in store and maybe you too will be transported back to simpler times, when we could dance all night on nothing but a bottle of water...and men weren't terrified to ask a chick out in case she reported them for harassment. Good times!

D&G feminine has been under my radar for a while.it's notes look so promising and I knew it's my last chances to buy it due to it's discontinuation so I ordered a 100mil tester bottle(53$) I can see why there is totally different,love/hate reviews for this one.it's not safe for blindbuy unless you like perfumes such as Sarah jessica Parker lovely or Jennifer Lopez Glow which was the first things that came to my mind when I first sprayed D&G feminine but if you have a good skin for such cold and clean muskyflorals it appears as a seamlessly beautiful scent on you,very feminine and sensual in a soft,clean and alluring way. it's a very musky scent and it's muskiness shows up from the first second.it has a cold,sharp aldehyde_musky-floral(mimosa and waterlily)scent in it's opening which may be off putting for some people but has a refreshing cold purity which I like.aldehydes are easily detectable to my nose and it's strange that it's not mentioned as a note.it settles down to a more floral scent,jasmine,lily and wisteria bloom beautifully to create a soft and clean feminine floral scent.vanilla,cashmere and sandalwood ground muskyflorals and add it a very light touch of sweetness and make it drier.I can also detect a light nutty note which I relate to heliotrope or cashmere wood.I like all the stages of it's development but it's creamy-powdery drydown is my favorite which is a lovely blend of floral woody and musk notes Like most discontinued fragrances,I see it as a wrong decision as it would be wearable in modern days and could be even a signature perfume for numerous people.It's longlasting.sillage is big at first but it soon reduces to moderate.I see it as a spring,summer fragrance like most perfumes in this genre but however it's cold,crisp and clean I guess it would be good even in fall or winter days Feminine is my forth D&G perfume,first one being light blue which I gave it to my mom and second one was The one which I gave it to my sister,after these two unsuccessful experiences I faced more luck in my blindbuys,third one is pour femme which I love,now after my successful blindbuy,feminine,I'm eager to find and try Sicily and by as I think discontinued perfumes in this brand are more close to what I like

I am only now getting around to testing D&G Feminine, despite having been sent a generous-sized decant by a generous perfumista quite some time ago. Fortunately, the juice is still in good shape, so now I understand why so many people are complaining about the discontinuation of the perfume. At the same time, other reviewers revile the scent! I find it clean and musky and floral and a bit soapy. Some people have observed the compatibility of Feminine with Nivea cream, and I do not disagree. In fact, this composition reminds me a bit of one of the Bvlgari Mon Jasmin perfumes (hmmm... was it the original or one of the flankers--I've lost track, there are so many!). Upon application, my first impression was that this could be the signature scent of a cougar--that's right: une femme d'un certain âge (comme moi!). It smells sophisticated and sexy--think Catherine Deneuve. This is a type of scent which is less common in recent launches, which seem to be much sweeter on average. Feminine dates from 1999, before the tsunami of abstract fruity-florals, and its discontinuation is an example of how fashions cycle also in perfume. Eventually, people are going to be sick of all of the cloying sweet gourmand stuff, and this sort of perfume will come back into vogue. Until then, cherish what remains of your old bottles of these turn-of-the-century perfumes!

Preferences: Fruity, vanilla, watery, sweet, citrus (Will update) Perfume nose: amateur best season spring and autumn day/night day the age of the woman who wears it 24-45 the persona of the woman who wears it: intriguing, kind, mature, sophisticated modest, warm err feminine =p Quite a big gap for age but what i love about this is femininity can be at any age and this proves it! This woman speaks with her eyes, speaks only when she has to. Not an overly glamourous woman but her chosen style is soft, floaty feminine and warm. A woman who can look sexy riding on a bike from the 40's with a basket in the front. I bought this as a blind buy, when i first opened it i was like >=[ then i sprayed it on me then i was like =o IMO it is beautiful it smells classic. it is a musk ideal for younger women as the jasmine is present in the top notes and then it soften downs into a powdery musk. i can admit throughout trying it i was like is it? is it? phew! is it? is it? phew! because on a certain person this could be a disaster! this could possibly smell like toilet freshener. This is the type of perfume that chooses you! It is the powder along with the musk and light hint of florals that make this come together so beautifully. its quiet and loud at the same time. i still own a 100ml of this from the early millenium... today i decided to try it again after all those years it was hidden in my storage. it has a very intriguing smell, unusual for nowdays and somehow addictive... hmmm... the intro is quite fresh and unisex. but then the precious flowers are developping. the aroma of a sweet and fragile heliotrope, which i love so much in fragrances is coming up to my nose accompagned by an intense smell of wisteria and ylang-ylang. truly nice and feminine on this stage. then the white petals of lily and orangeblossom are fading in nicely powdery and i can feel also the musk introducing very seductively. the base is woody warm and still powdery, sweetened up with a hint of vanilla. all in all a very clean and subtle sexy scent, not offending or overhelming, with a nice sillage floating arround you for a good while, lasting power is very good on me! perfect for officewear. happy to still own it as it is hard to find and discontinued.

I wore this in the beginning of millennium when it was new. Alongside with the wonderful Yohji this always collected compliments. Feminine has that super soapy vibe that either attracts och abhors. I find it enchanting. The strange thing is that I wear this better in the wintertime. All my other lovely soapy aldehydes I prefer in the summer. But then again, this in not aldehyde. Heliotrope and mimosa give it an initial sweetness, but in the end it is more or less about musk. I remember the first time I smelled Feminine, I really found it different from all the perfume of the time. Also I had been wearing heavy stuff like By from the same house, and Jungle Elephant. This was a different category and I embraced it. I recommend checking this out if you ever cross paths. It smells like anything else. I just sprayed it on to get in the mood and I do adore it even though I rarely wear it.

As a somewhat reluctant sucker for musk, due to the scratchy olfactive soundtrack of my misspent youth screeching in the background with over applied White Musk Oil from The Body Shop, I find myself falling for D&G Feminine EDT despite its similarity to the aforementioned culprit! How can this be? I've spent most of my adult life running away from anything (human or otherwise) remotely resembling that TBS trademark signature. Could it be, adorned in a light spritz of D&G Feminine, I feel young and carefree again? Has enough water finally flowed under the bridge for me to have matured enough to smile fondly at my pubescent self? I dunno! What I do know though is I am thoroughly enjoying smelling this good. Feminine is pretty and girly and clean. No heavy syrupy residue weighing you down in this "white musk", only pristine petals carried on a buoyant breeze.

This is an odd one. It is indeed 'feminine' for sure, and well suited to Spring days and floaty dresses. It's initially sharp (but so are many fragrances) then morphs into flowery, then dries down to rather a generic fragrance that's nothing to write home about. Its main characteristic is that on me it's all about the sillage rather than the skin scent. From a distance Feminine is quite fresh and interesting; on the skin, not so pleasant. So I'd suggest it's great for a garden party, but not ideal on its own for a date where you're hoping for some action ;) It can work quite well, though, partnered with a sweet fragrance such as Alien Essence Absolue, which adds vanilla sweetness to the skin and complements Feminine's slightly sharp flowery-freshness. Overall I give this one 6/10. No harm done, but perhaps not worth keeping.

I’m so glad I own this. I see by the prices on eBay and other sites it’s discontinued. Such a shame I hate when they discontinued something good. This is a beautiful green floral musk, not like your everyday musk. It wears well on my skin and lingeries close to it. The mimosa is predominant and it sits on top and actually the top notes take center stage. The heliotrope sits in the dry down which can give a powdery type of scent. This is nothing like anything else out there. This a feminine musk where the floral dance around. It’s one of my favorites but then again I have many ( big time perfume collector). Sillage is pretty good not great but pretty good. Longevity isn’t too bad. I sprayed it on about 4 hours ago and I can still smell it. Sits very close to skin on drydown.

I like the smell alot, flowery and mild in its scent, not overpowering at all. I can not wear it when I'm in school, 'cause my teacher is allergic to some of the flowers in this scent. But I don't like that teacher, so maybe I shall wear it the next time I see him, just for fun. There's only one drawback with this fine perfume: the bottle. The spray "thingy" loosens so easily so I have to attach it, plus the perfume leaks from the spray "thingy" when it gets pushed down. Does anyone else have this problem? I had the same problem with the bottle of D&G Masculine, which I also had before(I would say it's more of a unisex than masculine fragrance).

Hello lailafeder1. No this perfume is discontinued. I think the male version is discontinued also. I just happen to still have some left. I just get so annoyed at the bottle that I long 'til I've used it all up. The leaking of the fluid when spraying and the cap is loose and can't be fastened like it should. I don't know what they did when they produced these bottles, but they did something wrong. Even if it still existed and I like the scent, I wouldn't buy another one due to the bottle.

Clean girl scent! Citrus floral opening. Every note listed is what you smell throughout the fragrance. It was stashed in the back of my armoire. this reminds me of the 90’s early 2000’s when I first met my husband! Excellent for spring and this is beastmode like frags used to be! If you can find this (discontinued like all good things) at a reasonable price pick it up. It is genderless like some of the fragrances were in the 90’s and 2000’s. 8/10 not sure if it’s for me!

Very odd smelling perfume to me. White flowers with an antiseptic/medicine mixture. The first 15 mins after spraying it on the smell is sickening. About an hour later the medicine smell fades and I smell mostly flowers....although strange smelling flowers....it lasts for hours and hours which is the only nice thing I can say about it. I bought this without testing it first and am really kicking myself about now. Total let down.

i bought it without testing it first,and I can say that i am soooo happy that i have it!!!I love D&G fragrances,all of them are just wonderfull!this one is very sensuall,unique and very romantic.I like the sensuall powdery dry down.It fills me up with harmony.The smell of flowers is so real i feel like I am in a flower garden!excellent lasting power!!!!P.S.For me personally is for spring/summer time:)

My grandmother owned a bottle of this. (For younger people thinking about buying this I must say that she likes to wear pretty young fragrances, just finished a bottle of Burberry Brit Sheer.) It smelled very nice on her. She liked it a lot and would have bought again but they don't sell it in here anymore. The scent is feminine and floral but not heavy and won't offend anyone. Good for everyday use.

Powdery and musky lily in a perfect proportion. You feel clean and pretty. It is a delicate Italian perfume, careful but always sexy. This time his sensuality is not sexual, it is very refined and polished. Ideal for a woman who feels beautiful, inside and out. Ideal for a woman who likes to be a woman without needing to like anyone, but unconsciously likes everyone

Smelt this today for the first time after many years. I like its sticky sweetness because its so well balanced by the musk and powdery quality. As its name dictates its definately very feminine but has some weight to it as do all the D & G perfumes. Puts me in a relaxed, confident mood. Again I fear this will be discontinued quite soon:(

I used to love to wear this in summer back in the early noughties. Got a lot of compliments from men too. Now it makes me sneeze and I find the smell annoying somehow, not sure why as I don't think the composition has changed, just my taste for some strange reason.

it`s a nice perfume..got it from my Bfriend..so i shoul like it very much:)but i am more "floral" person so i find it very heavy..i think is very good during cold winter days..it`s very feminine and makes u very sophisticated..do not try it during summer

I LOVE 'By' and actually find this something of a By 'Light'. I've never owned it as I have always had a bottle of 'By' but as it's sadly gone I might indulge in some of this and hope for a similar feel. Clean and musky

I love this in winter, sprayed across a soft scarf... there's something really comforting about it. I'm on to my 2nd bottle. Not an every day thing fragrance for my tastes, but perfect in the cooler months!

nice and soft and fresh!makes me feel clean on a hot day! just a soft skin perfume that you wear when you want to be cute and cuddely not for fierce woman i guess?But i love it it is a classic for me.

Beautiful and powdery but stays on you very briefly. Edit 2016# I just bought it on ebay and will get back with an update as soon as it arrives!
