Dolce Violet

This is my favorite fragrance! I can understand why some people find it a little simplistic, but I've honestly found a lot of nuances in it. I think the top notes and heart notes are my favorite; the base is a little simpler, and can sometimes seem a little faint. I think my skin chemistry enhances sweetness, so when it dries down, people mostly pick up on the vanilla. I think it strikes a really nice balance of fruity and floral, and it's also very unique. To me, it smells energetic, flowery, and a little elegant. I really don't mind the fact that the violet takes a backseat to the other notes, I wasn't seeking it out for the violet note specifically, although I do still pick up on it. It's also nice to see a fruity floral that doesn't rely on jasmine. I kinda dislike jasmine unless it's used in smaller amounts to provide a slightly aquatic feel. So many fragrances end up being jasmine bombs on me, and it's unfortunate. The bottle is really cute, and it fits really well with my fashion sense (I'm one of those women who wears purple a little too often). I've had friends notice different things about the scent. One friend said it smelled like wine, and others have pointed the vanilla out. I think it's complex enough to be interesting, but not challenging. I think the longevity and sillage are good. It's not beast mode, but I don't need it to be. It holds onto clothes nicely, so my purple cashmere sweater that I love often has a lingering trace of Dolce Violet. It may not be popular, but to me, Dolce Violet is a 5/5! I'm definitely planning on cherishing it for a long time, and it makes a perfect signature scent for me :)

This little bottle caught my eye when I was browsing the shelves. The Dolce series was sitting there, blues, greens, pinks, purples, yellows, just so pretty. Since I like jasmine, I tried Dolce Blue Jasmine first and was so disappointed how bad it smelled to my nose. Really bad. I couldn't detect any jasmine, it was all dusty and like old mouldy cardboard. Dolce Shine was nice, but nothing I fell in love with, same with Dolce Garden, Dolce Peony and Dolce Rose. Then I tried Dolce Violet and fell in love. I never had a perfume of violets, so I'm not sure how they smell like on their own. With Dolce Violet, I get a strong scent of berries, blackberries, black currants, etc, which I really like. After a while it gets lightly flowery on me and then to a nice, soft, powdery dry down. I really like it. It doesn't last too long on me, maybe an hour or two, but that is fine, I strongly prefer having to reapply a scent than being stuck with it for three days and five showers and it's still sticking to my skin (looking at La vie est belle by Lancome. I got gifted a small tester and didn't like it and it stayed and stayed and stayed ...). Though I find it very overpriced, I paid $60 for 1 oz of the Eau de toilette, the Eau de parfum was $115 in the store. All of the Dolce's were in this price range.

As someone who'd been searching for decent violet perfume for months, i am soooo happy i found this one cuz I LOVE IT?😭💝 I'm gonna be honest: I hate good scents that are ruined by too much powderiness, but THIS ONE. This one smells like a very sweet, fresh and juicy violet, the one you wanna eat and slight powdery chords only add to it, not overwhelm. Dolce Violet gives a vibe of this princess in a pastel dark purple dress that also loves grapes🍇 it is not overwhelming tho and matches the bottle completely. Someone can say it smells like a generic violet scents but hear me out this one may seem simple but it still has some magic to it. Imagine you're in a dark moist fantasy forest and violet flowers bloom around the path. The drydown is amazing as well, sweet and non-cloying, super comforting. Perhaps not for older audiences, but this is more about vibe and not age. The only thing that I don't like is the price, they could've charge 80 euros for 100ml at least and not 85ml😔 And the longevity could be better as well, though i haven't yet tested it on skin so i am not really sure. My skin is quite dry and it'll eat it up so i imagine you have to use plenty of lotion with this one. If you guys know ANY decent dupe of this perfume, please tell mee🙏

I was looking for a sweet violet forward scent and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this at Sephora because I've purchased quite a few duds when blind buying and trying to find that sweet violet based scent to add to my collection. It's fruity with the black current note but the violet comes in as a strong 2nd note. It's starts slightly green, slightly fruity, and has that sweet violet with an aquatic, fresh undertone. The violet is nestled gently between the lush sweetness of the black current and crisp brightness of the pear. The musk/vanilla/sandalwood harnesses the scent together on the dry down and balances the overall scent giving it some depth, layers, and longevity. This could be a great everyday scent. It's an easy reach. It's not offensive or cloying. It's a nice take on a violet scent as so often violets are paired with iris or roses. This is a fruity aquatic take on violets. Not exactly parma violets or candied violets, but it's certainly lush, fresh, and sweet and good for lovers of violets.

Out of all new, non-niche fragrances released in 2023 so far, this one is my favorite. It is a very pleasant, well rounded, versatile scent. Great for many occasions. Inoffensive, light, clean, crowd pleasing and office safe. Projecting put-together type of vibe, without being mature. It has nice, feminine, alluring quality to it. Easy to wear everywhere: office, running errands, date, nighttime or daytime. Wearable all year round, but I would enjoy it in the spring the most. I was afraid that the violet here would be dominant and sharp type of violet, but fortunately it is not. It is nicely balanced by sandalwood, vanilla and pear. I love the drydown. Does it remind me of any other scent? Not immediately. If you liked the Dolce series, there is a good chance that you will like this new release as well. Most importantly, my husband, who is not into fragrances, liked it the most out of all scents I made him smell recently. I am waiting for a travel spray to be released. On my "to buy" list.

I find this to be the most pleasant of the Dolce line, and the opening is what really hooks me. It's a bright blast of a pretty photorealistic blueberry - not a syrupy, baked-into-a-pie blueberry, but a slightly tart, slightly sweet, fresh blueberry picked right off the bush (I imagine this is the black currant I'm detecting). It dries down to a soft, pretty floral that is less remarkable, but still quite pleasing. How disappointing, then, that the sillage is so low and the longevity is even lower. Truly, not 30 minutes later, the scent is BARELY detectable on my skin. Now, I wouldn't mind having to reapply once or twice a day, especially to re-experience that beautiful opening, but having to reapply twice an hour? And for over $100 for a 1.7 oz bottle? Not acceptable. I'd happily pay even more per ounce for this lovely fragrance, if only it had greater staying power.

So, this fragrance was never on my radar. If I’m being honest, the only reason I grabbed it was because it was on clearance for $30, so it was a blind buy with a quick glance on Fragrantica to check out the notes. I sprayed it on me when I got home and wasn’t wowed by it, but still thought it smelled nice. I put it away and came back to it two months later once Spring began peeking out recently...and I now have a different opinion. I wore it this weekend before I went out to run errands. I’m not sure if it’s because I was more mobile, but I kept getting whiffs of myself every so often and it made me smile. It sits on my skin nicely, and it comes off as more sweet than floral, which I don’t mind. Longevity is moderate, seems like it lasts between 4-6hrs, which I’m fine with.

Instant love! ❤️ Violet, blackcurrant, cassis is a gorgeous combination, that is consistently forward throughout wearing. The other fruity aspects pear and mandarin, are there in the beginning, gradually to replaced with vanilla musk and Sandalwood. I've been wearing it everyday for a week. For me it has better than average longevity and moderate projection. This one is potentially a year round scent. Absolutely a full bottle worthy addition to my collection. Dolce Violet is slightly sweeter as it's missing the green aromatic Violet leaf, but this is the closest fragrance I have found to the long discontinued Tuca Tuca by Lush! Learning from discontinued part, I will definitely be buying a backup bottle soon 😊

I have to be honest, I only picked up and sniffed this juice because the bottle is pretty. I wasn't expecting to like it at all. With that being said, I FELL IN LOVE with DV as soon as I sprayed it on a strip. Not too many fragrances do that to me. It is unlike anything I have in my collection. I have read in some reviews that not everyone is getting the violet note, but to my nose, it is very violet forward... violet with blackberries sweetening it up. It's beautiful. I'm an oversprayer, so I can get at least 8-10 hours out of it for longevity. My husband says he can smell me from at least 4 feet away. Definitely one of my top 5 fragrances.

I love this stuff. I can smell the pear, black currant, and orange at the beginning along with a mild vinyl smell. It's a bit headache inducing, probably because of the black currant fragrance chemical but I don't know why it's still addicting to smell. Drydown just smells like generic clean floral like having wet freshly shampooed hair but with a hint of fruitiness. Hot Summer and gym worthy! Sillage is moderate and I think this can be worn any time. I want to say this is a safe blind buy or for gifting to people who like light feminine floral scents but maybe not because of the plastic/vinyl vibe this has. Try it out to be sure!

I LOVE this perfume, but do agree with other reviewers that this is not really a pure “violet” fragrance. It is instead very fruit-forward. I definitely get a blast of sweet juicy berries and some slight green notes upon initial spray. As it dries down, it starts to smell more floral but doesn’t really go into “powdery” territory for me as most traditional violet perfumes would. I guess you could consider this more of a “modern” take on violet. It’s not super complex, just a simple fruity-floral that makes me happy and reminds me of warm spring days.

this is sweet and inoffensive and rather straightforward. Even though I work from home, I started wearing this at my desk. Something about the sugary flower petals and fresh fruits make me feel focused, uplifted, and ready to engage in my work. There’s no deep intensity or sudden twist in this fragrance and that isn’t a bad thing. You put it on and it smells like what it’s supposed to and there is so much comfort in that.

I do think the name of this perfume is a bit misleading since there really isn’t a lot of violet. But it’s still pretty. Copious amounts of black fruits in this along with sweet florals that amplify the tart blackcurrant. To me this smells awesome and it was on my Christmas wishlist. Juicy fruits with candy-like florals, refreshing and feminine and just lovely. Carefree fragrance for spring and summer!

Oh. My. Gosh. This is amazing. I get a beautiful vanilla violet. Floral heaven for me. This is also very blueberry-esque in the dry down. Like I get a sharp sharp bold floral violet at first than 1 hour in a vanilla blueberry floral with a hint of the cassis and woods and that black currant. SO good. So unexpected too! I feel this will play different on all types of bodies skin and seasons. Very nice.

Beautifully blended, fresh, happy scent. It starts with an obvious blackcurrant on my skin and then morphs into something more floral. There's depth to it. Longevity is good, I get several hours from it. Will definitely buy a whole bottle!

The violets are really drowned out in this one by well, everything else in the composition. I would say it’s really driven by the black currant, cassis, pear with a sliver of violets

The color of the bottle captures the vibe! Deep fruit and floral. The top notes are juicy currant almost grape which I wish lasted longer but the dry down is warm and sweet floral.

I like this scent, it is one of my favorites. It has the bitter-sweetness of violet, along with a slight almost bubble-gum like sweetness.

Not floral forward at all but still a pleasant, casual wear.

I like it a lot. Reminds me of Lancôme Connexion.

I finally got to Ulta today to test this not expecting much, I haven't liked anything from this line as of yet. But Dolce Violet was a pleasant surprise. When I first smelled this, I picked up violets right away. I know a lot of people don't smell violet w/ this and it smells like black currant candies for many, but I get a green, violet leaf right off the bat. That goes away quickly and leaves behind a very dark syrupy black currant that reminds me of the elderberry syrup that my Grandmother used to make to build up our immune systems for the coming cold/flu season. I get a nice mandarin orange note here as well blending w/ the violet/black currant syrup. This is a sweet fragrance but for me it isn't too sweet. As it dry's down I get vanilla mixing in w/ the violet/black currant/blackberry syrup and orange. When I compare this to my bottle of Fragonard Violette this is sweeter. The mandarin orange is a bigger stand out w/ the Fragonard Violette and the violet in that one is a bit chalky. I have been debating on putting it in my bathroom air freshener box. I am picky about violet and what I like about Dolce Violet is the violet isn't chalky, it smells green and naturalistic which is surprising since this is most likely a synthetic creation. My favorite violet perfume is Blocki For Walks which I just ordered today. But I did buy a small bottle of Dolce Violet today as well. I got the 30ml for $10 after my points so why not. If you want a sweet violet that smells like a violet/black currant/blackberry syrup that a Grandma might make as a tonic this is something to check out. I think it tickled my nostalgia bone a bit and that is why I bought it.

Oooooooh! I like this much more than I thought I was going to. This is fruity-sweet with JUST enough powdery muskiness. You can definitely smell the violet, but that with the combination of blackcurrant & pear is so lovely. This is fruity perfume for a grown woman. So good for warmer weather. Like I said before, the powdery-ness is not too much here. I associate powder scents with deodorant, the elderly & babies so I’m not a fan of wearing them myself but this doesn’t give me any of that. The sweet fruitiness is a great balance. I’m still undecided if it’s full bottle worthy but so far I’m enjoying it. Update: Trying this again after some weeks & this really is so so nice. I can’t explain it but it’s such a happy & inviting scent. I don’t NEED another bottle of perfume but I worry that this may get discontinued & tbh I would be sad if I didn’t grab a bottle before that happened. I’m torn! For some reason Dolce Violet invokes a feeling of nostalgia & I have no idea why or where that’s coming from. This truly is a hidden gem of a perfume.

ski test (last one was only on a card), hot day. i quite like this, the fruity aspect is not your lolly, candy, fruit sort, its eraserlike, lipsticky fruity. its rounded, look its not a powdery violet like from guerlain, this one is younger, (not teenage) but just to differenciate. slight powdery - well, very slight - means this isnt in clean floral territory. if i had to name a fruit id say plummy - you know that dusky hazey type of fruit, though this one stays fresh, and not a freshie as such. I like the aromatics and wood, keeps things thiocker and more interesting. im so far about 3 hours in and going fine. i dont feel like it reminds me of any pf the fragrances listed as similar... maybe at a push Lily from the dolce line, but only as a gauge of the fruity art of the intensity - Violet is not sharp like Lily. is rounded like Garden, and airy/clean ish like Rose (rosay, not the rose one, i cannot to the thing ontop of the e).

Awww! This is a sweet little fragrance! Both in scent and in disposition. It smells like a whimsical person with a good heart 💜 This is not a complex fragrance by any stretch, but it is layered enough to feel complete. The cassis and currant don't necessarily smell spicy like they can tend to be in other fragrances sometimes, but rather, they're a little jammy and they have more of a youthful quality. The violet here is much, much more of a modern violet, and certainly not a powdery violet, vintagey bomb. So, if you're hesitant on violet, I would still consider giving this a shot. It's quite fresh. There's some plushy vanillic warmth as it dries, but it's nothing heavy or dense. This is a true springtime sort of scent.

The cute bottle tells you everything you need to know about this. It’s feminine, fun, and for the young. A bowl of blackberries, coated in sugar, resting in a tiny bit of cream. Somehow effervescent too. Maybe it’s a blackberry soda with vanilla ice cream, but the syrup used in the soda is so intense. Like someone boiled down 5 pounds of berries into a small bottle of syrup. It’s deep deep purple. The only real hint of violet I get is a slight underlying powderiness, it feels like a boudoir powder, which again just adds to the girly appeal of this. It’s very slight, it doesn’t last long or have much projection. It’s fun while it lasts though. Too young for me but I’m tempted by the bottle.

When I first tried this, I didn't like it at all, and was going to return it. It smelled syrupy to me. But then I missed the 30-day return window... now that I've worn it a few times, I really like it. This is a moody, dreamy, fantasy fragrance. Unfortunately, the longevity is not there. It's so pretty that it might be worth reapplying several times throughout the day. I see y'all saying that this is for daytime and for spring & summer, but I disagree. I think this is too heavy for spring/summer days. I'll be wearing it during the daytime this fall/winter. I think this would be great during spring/summer nights. This is for intimate shows and concerts. This is for cozy snowy days at home.

Smelled this in ULTA today, and almost left with a bottle of it. This is very delicious, and an extremely fair price for a bottle of this. When I think quintessential fruity floral, this is basically it. You can definitely smell the violet in this, but this is very fruity. Very juicy, with a whisper of powdery, feminine Violet. I really liked this. I sprayed it on my skin, a little soapy, mostly sweet. I wish I would've gotten this instead of the two rollerballs that I picked up today! This is really pretty. Definitely a very feminine fragrance, think floral dresses and kitten heels. Perfect for spring, very light & inoffensive.

A year ago I got a sample sniff in a magazine and I could not stop thinking of it since. It was one of my biggest wants for a while. I now own a full size bottle and it's beautiful but I'm not sure this is going to become a signature scent. I like the sweet smell of it and I really dont get the pickle that people keep mentioning. But in terms of other scents Ive tried since trying this; I find it very one note and simple. It also lacks longevity for me. I think of this scent fondly as my first real interest in fragrance but I think it will just become a nostalgic bottle in my collection.

I recieved this as a gift today, i do not know how to feel about this. I like it for sure, but i have not smelled anything like this ever. It's sweet , fruity and???? idk, weird smell but likeable. I see that many of you voted that this is a day fragrance but i think that it can be a night time fragrance too. Dolce from this line has another fragrance that smells a little bit like Ariana Grande Thank U Next , i always awitch them and i am not sure is it peony or jasmine? If anyone know help me out and tell me.

Got a chance to test this out and it’s such a pretty fragrance. It’s fresh, fruity and floral. The pear is so juicy in this and the violet is mellow. Also some sort of bubblegum like note which isn’t listed but I smell bubblegum lol. Someone mentioned this smelling like a Michaels store. I can fully get that lol. It’s not a bad thing at all. I can see myself buying a full bottle of this. I wish the staying power was better on this, it’s a EDT so..

very... girly. opening cassis intense and awesome, then juicy blackcurrant, a soapy pear, mouth watering sweet mandarin. this has a late nineties early aughts japanese female fashion magazines vibe, kawaii aesthetic, a hair mist scent a tokyo highschool girl might wear in the rainy season in june in harajuku. pleasant. i like this.

I bought the largest bottle after a cursory test at the perfumery. I remembered that of all the fragrances I tested that day, this one made the strongest impression on me. It's fresh, juicy, subtly sweet, subtly sour, radiant, and feminine. Beautiful. Only the base is a more creamy. It's truly worth trying. I recommend it.

Not "violet" in a violets floral sort of way, but more like purple like the bottle color. Muuuuch cassis and I do not detect violets at all. Actually I am getting more of a mildly sour grape effect, it's intriguing, keeps me sniffing my test arm to see where it goes.

Opening is fruity and reminds me of grape soda. The dry down remains sweet with some added powdery-ness from the violet. In the base, the vanilla and sandalwood are featured. Overall this a very pleasant, feminine scent that is quite youthful to my nose.

Very nice fruity-floral fragrance. Not overly powdery. The violet note is definitely there but not strong enough to be a title on the bottle. Biggest problem with this fragrance - it does not last long. Two hours max, which is embarrassing.

The dry down smells like Kurky by Maison Francis Kurkdijan. I see Escada moonsparkle resemblance It’s its own fragrance though. Don’t get it if you want a dominant moonsparkle scent. You can smell oranges and a bit of purple notes

This is nice. Not as powdery as i was expecting, which i actually like. This is more fresh. It has some candy-like sweetness but in a good way. It’s soft and feminine. It’s pleasant and relaxing. A good choice for spring.

I'm a vanilla gourmand girly. But this is something different and very simple floral. I enjoy it for summer. It layers well with gourmand perfumes if desired and you can buy this for a big discount at Costco.

This is lovely - a powdery Violet, slightly woody. Ok the sweeter side for a powdery violet. Sadly it lasts for about 20 minutes on me and fades!

This fragrance is slightly sweet, floral , and powdery. Definitely an easy reach! i received compliments on it , which doesn't happen often !

Safe, girly and shampoo-esque scent. Nothing too complex or crazy but it's definitely a pleasant and easy fragrance to reach for.

It smells nice, like a fruity forest type smell. It is quite likeable but I don't love it.

Pretty, clean, shampoo scent. Perfect for the young/ young at heart.

A slightly sweet, soapy floral. Like a subtle, white bar of soap, type of soap. Not laundry detergent soap lol. As time passes, you almost get a bit of a mixed berry vibe. But mainly, soft, soapy florals. I don't get any woods, green notes or soft spices. For being D&G this smells very mediocre/basic/generic. (Also, I would not pay more then 30 bucks for a 3.4 oz bottle) The poor quality alone is not worth anything beyond that. This fragrance has very mild projection. Scent trail is most non existent. This fragrance is very safe for small spaces, or when in close proximity with a lot of people. On skin alone, the lasting power on this is pretty terrible. I only managed to get three/four hours MAX on hydrated skin. This is one you'll definitely have to reapply throughout the day. As for when to wear this? Spring and summer alone. It's much too soft and soapy to stand up against fall/winter. Although, this would make a pretty decent bedtime fragrance. It's soft, airy, and non abrasive. It's completely non offensive. The scent definitely won't last untill you wake up, so you won't have to continue smelling this into the next day if you're not wanting to.

The Cyclamen note in this pulls a strong Lily of the Valley note on my skin (which I do not enjoy)for the first 30 minutes. After that floral dissipates I enjoy the sweet syrupy fruity-vanilla dry down. This is the first cyclamen fragrance I have purchased. It appears a perfumer can select from at least four variants; (1) Cyclamen Aldehyde for a fresh and floral aroma, (2) Methyl Cyclamen Aldehyde for a more intense, spicy and sweet scent, (3) Cyclamen Alcohol for a softer, more well-rounded floral scent, and (4) Methyl Cyclamen Alcohol for a warm, woody and slightly spicy aroma.

Picked this up as I love violet scents, but although violet is in the notes, I cant really detect it on my skin. It has a very fruit forward opening, quite sweet and a little green, then it dries down more floral for sure, but not the powdery violet scent I was looking for. The longevity is pretty poor to be honest but I don't like to overspray as it seems like a scent that would give me a headache, It would make a good layering option I reckon, ill have to play about with it some more.

This is a perfectly nice floral fragrance. I don’t really get the violet which is a shame. Sometimes the blackcurrant is strong which I don’t like because it often smells like grape to me. It doesn’t last very long. I got it as a sample and I’ll use it up for spring and summer but wouldn’t purchase a bottle. I prefer the original Dolce; maybe it’s just nostalgia but it’s the one that speaks the most to me out of the lineup.

Highly synthetic and doesn't smell all that much j like notes listed. I know designer brands use cheaper synthetics so they can maximize profits but it's no violet to my nose. Sweet screechy ,yes. Sold it, was also disappointed with blue jasmine in this line. I do adore dolce garden ,it's the only one I kept from this line . It lasts quite long and is buttery floral

There is something very sharp in the opening that never really mellows out. Very prone to induce headaches. The floral is pretty intense. It says fruity, but I don't get that. It almost makes me feel agitated. Like I need to remove it, because it's distracting. Some creaminess might help. Not for me, but I'm not much on heavy florals where they are overpowering.

The Dolce line with the floral caps are all relatively easy to wear-- this is no different. It is primarily fruity, very sweet and a bit sticky. Not very much violet and not powdery at all (which will probably appeal to many). This doesn't work on me as cassis and blackcurrant both have a slight ammonia-like quality on my skin.
