Dolce&Gabbana pour Homme (1994)

D&G Pour Homme (EuroItalia 1994) version Let’s be perfectly honest here..... if the original EuroItalia version was released today by some flavour of the moment niche house, everybody would be going nuts over it; how different it is; revolutionary, unique...... which is exactly what it was in the first place really. Whereas the beautiful original Armani Eau Pour Homme was my 80’s staple (and still is for me), this took the baton on my fragrance journey in the 90’s when I was looking for something a little more adventurous and a bit louder. I was never comfortable with full-on fougere/barbershop fragrances with all that brash ‘old fashioned’ lavender but in this, I found something that straddled the past and the future of my journey. In keeping the familiar citruses and in fact many of the same notes & components, it amped everything up and added herbs/spices, tonka & tobacco, making the transition an easy one but it’s projection & longevity was significantly more impressive and took me by surprise, as it still does today. Even within the original EuroItalia version, there were as I understand, 2 versions or ‘adjustments’ to the fragrance due to IFRA restrictions and whilst I wasn’t so aware of that at the time, I still own & treasure some of the early versions and they do definitely differ from each other. Not that one is better than the other but certain notes are more prominent or muted in the top, heart & base for sure. Bottle age is a factor of course but they’ve all been kept properly and all of the 6 I own are different in subtle ways. As to the major reformulation/manufacturing changes..... I actually don’t think that the 2nd ‘Made in Germany’ version is that bad. No, of course it’s not the original beauty but it’s not a million miles away from it and I still use the 125ml I have when I don’t want to use my precious originals. The same can’t be said for the ‘Made in UK/France’ versions though....... oh dear, what a mess! There is a very vague similarity that approximates the ‘Made in Germany’ version, but it’s nowhere even close to that, let alone the original: watery, bland & confused and in my personal opinion, an utter waste of time & money. There’s a fantastic thread on ‘the other site’ Basenotes, which explains the reformulations and batch code variations, which is well worth the time to read and explains a lot but I don’t seem to be able to post a link here I’m afraid. The original ‘Made in Italy’ version is by far and away my most complimented fragrance ever over the years: I never wear a fragrance for other people, only myself & mood dependent but certainly, this seems to be the one that is the most appreciated, particularly by ladies, without question. Unmistakably, a true Italian beauty....... I could never be without it!

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme came out in 1994 and in my opinion this is the fragrance that more than any other fragrance kickstarted the trend of these dense, powdery, lavender dominant neo-barbershop fragrances more than anything else. I realize that you can go back to Creed's Green Irish Tweed to pinpoint a shift from the animalic powerhouse style barbershop fragrances that dominated the 70s and early 80s, which eventually led to the arrival of fragrances like Calvin Klein's Eternity, Chanel's Platinum Egoiste, Paco Rabanne's XS, which in turn eventually influenced the arrival of the aquatics that would dominate the late 90s and 2000s. However, I'm speaking specifically about the richer barbershop fragrances made probably most popular by Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male from 1995. This fragrance, D&G Pour Homme, came out a full year before Le Male and two full years before Versace's The Dreamer yet you very seldom hear anybody giving Dolce & Gabbana credit for influencing the creation of Le Male which is one of the biggest and highest selling fragrance lines in history! "Pour Homme" is one of the greatest barbershop fragrances of it's time, it's fresh enough to wear any time of year, but it's also spicy enough to pull off in the coldest of winter days. It's sexy, so you can wear it on a date or just any situation where you're going out and trying to attract someone of the opposite sex. It's also really easy to wear and massively appealing so you could easily wear it casually or to the office. I can't really think of a situation where you would say that it's out of place, and really the only knock that I think someone could really give this is that it's from the 90s... yet, it smells so great and in my opinion timeless. Some people disagree with me, and I guess I can see that. Buy the vintage if you can get it for $90 or less, usually you'll only find the 75ml bottles at that price. For the current formulation I'd look for it for about $30-40 for 100mls. Highly recommended for men (this is one of the most definitively masculine fragrances I've ever smelled, but ladies can still wear it if they want!) 30+, and for anybody who likes fragrances similar to Versace Dreamer and Le Male.

Truly a Classic!!! It's a lady killer for sure!!! One of my all time favorite scents!!! Nothing I've ever smelled comes close to this and it's definitely a must have in any collection. What I enjoyed most about this fragrance was the fact that it bares similarities to that of Carolina Herrera for Men (also one of my all time favs) however, there are obvious differences. The top notes are very citrusy but in a very pleasant way. The mandarin and orange sweeten the lemon just right and though the lemon comes off a bit synthetic, it's nothing that's too unbearable. I feel that they all complement each other quite nicely. I find the middle notes to be a bit heavier than anything else. You definitely get the pepper and if you over apply this scent, you might end up hating it. The lavender is very subtle behind the pepper, which I guess is good because it does not blend the two extremes so you actually only smell one lingering behind the other as opposed to both being in your face. As the basenotes kick in, the tobacco is something that you will definitely smell! It's a gorgeous addition to the fragrance overall! This is the part that reminds me of Carolina Herrera For Men but not because they smell similar but rather because the spices, such as the tobacco and pepper, are used perfectly and are not overbearing. What you end up with is a sweetened lemon, with hints of tobacco and pepper over a woody base. How much more gorgeous can this get?!?! The scent life is amazing as well. I get at least 10+ hours every time. The only complaint I have is the fact that if you are going to be active while wearing this cologne, it somewhat smells like Chrome, at least on me it does. Definitely a versatile scent but not for an active day, at least not for me. Oh and a little advice for you guys out there that feel the need to spray a cologne at least 10 times, 3-4 sprays with this one and you're gold. The scent projects very well so do not be too generous with the trigger.

After experiencing a sample of D&G only to have it last 3 hours in total, I was thrilled to find out that I had been wearing the reformulated version of the fragrance (made in UK version), and that the vintage formulation was much richer with great longevity. After obtaining, at considerable cost, a bottle of the original italian formulation, I have to say it's really true. This stuff has unbelievable logenvity, with a richer more complex lavender, sage, tarragon and tobacco leaf. I don't have a very trained nose so I can't piece apart all of the notes, but I can say that this scent has a calming, sophisticated presence, and can be worn in virtually any weather, for any occasion, but is more appropriate for people 30 years and older. Definitely not a "party" or "club" scent. Longevity on my skin is about 8 hours, which is great considering that I have very dry skin and scents do not last generally last long on me, you may have even better results. It projects moderately/strongly for the first 2-3 hours, but will not suffocate those around you as it's not a heavy or cloying scent. It has about 1-foot projection through hours 3-6, and then skin scent for the final 2 hours. Overall, I can completely see why this one has attained legendary status, and it's truly a shame that the reformulation has taken away such a large part of what made this scent great in the first place. Having said all that, I just want to add as an aside that the imitation scent of this from Hayward Enterprises is almost 100% identical. Normally Hayward's scents are hit or miss (some are huge misses), but this one is easily the best imitation I've ever seen, of any fragrance. I sprayed the italian D&G on one arm and rolled the Hayward oil on the other, and they are literally 99% similar. I'd recommend obtaining this oil if you're looking for that original D&G magic, but can't find or afford a bottle of the vintage juice.

Dolce & Gabbana, a brand that doesn't have many great fragrances, in fact, i guess this is their best (talking about the masculine ones). A concoction of citruses, lavender, sage and woods. A simple eau de cologne mixed with a fougère style. Max Gavarry, the perfumer behind this fragrance, managed to create something with a cool water base and brighten it up with an Italian sexy vibe. It has a soapy quality, from the fougère structure and it's very alluring all the way. A typical 90's masculine but with this sexy citruses from a Italian eau de cologne. The citruses aren't the most natural ones but, for some reason, they work perfectly here with the herbs de provence and the light wood/tonka base. Nothing is sharp here. A pretty smooth fougère that has also a soft tobacco leaf note in the base to blend everything together. Is probably the least perceptive note but it's the one that helps this composition not being boring and has this sexy masculine aura. Unfortunately, D&G left EuroItalia in late 90's to joined P&G and later, Coty (everything from that era is very forgettable, to be honest) and the version of this classic is also completely different. Much sharper with less quality materials. Recently, the brand joined Shiseido group and they came out with slightly more interesting fragrances but i didn't tried the Pour Homme version yet. I hope the quality was increased as I consider Shiseido as a good brand/group. But for now, I suggest you to find a EuroItalia version if you want to experience this fragrance in full HD Stereo. The longevity is also better in this version (+8h) and the sillage is also stronger. Overall, a great fougeres with some unique qualities.

-Sighs- I hope the testimonies I've read so far are untrue. I haven't smelled this gorgeous male fragrance since its release and it seems it has been reformulated. What a pity. I recall this fragrance as being one of the untypical male scents. Polo, Azzaro pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, Gucci pour Homme, Anteus, Quorum, and Kouros to name a few, were the basic standards for what we expected a manly scent to be. Then Egoiste Platinum appeared, along with the likes of Joop and such, as well as this D&G pour Homme. What a delightful and exciting time it was to experience the fragrance world break down barriers and become unbridled! D&G pour Homme was elegance with a sliver of debauchery and generous amount of sensuality. Its the kind of fragrance I could just spray on a sweater or velvet pillow and bury my face in it believing it could lull me into playful (and perhaps even a little kinky) dreams. It was soothing and enveloping at first, fresh and comforting like a river's gentle caress...then, once in its aura...it begins to warm up into those notes that emerge and slowly take possession of those desires to be swept away. Naughty sandalwood, naughty tonka bean and musk...I know you now! But, oh...what a pleasure it has been. What a pleasure to have matured since then and yet, still remember you fondly. D&G have done this world a huge disservice if they have indeed, reformulated this fragrance. But, who knows? Maybe the reason for that is due to our own neglect for this world as well and making those precious ingredients lose their potency and/or availability? I don't know, but what I do know is that this fragrance was in a word...sublime.

Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme. Well, I had the reformulated fragrance about two years ago, and absolutely loved it. I needed to get myself a new bottle, but never really got around to buying it because I have so many different fragrances and it was not really top of my list. Well, that was until I found an old pre-reformulated bottle on ebay, It was used, about 95% full and with the old sticker on the bottle. I could not believe my luck, and I got the bottle for $39.00 including shipping, that's a 4.2oz 125ml bottle as well, CRAZY!!! Well that's enough of that story, sorry about that. I just want to give my opinion on the differences between the two, and there are differences!! The original is a little richer with that herbal feel, and has much more of that tobacco note. The tobacco note is much more prominent, and plays really well with the Lavender, Cinnamon, Tarragon and Geranium. I also get a strong Cardamom note, but it is not listed in the notes. After about one hour, the fragrance becomes a beautiful Tobacco and Lavender scent, with a little Cinnamon and Pepper. After a few hours the Tonka Bean and Sandalwood give a sweet creaminess to the fragrance. The fragrance then takes on a soft, powdery and slightly tobacco scent, which is very, very beautiful at this stage. I really love this scent, well done D&G. But why on earth did you have to go and change this fragrance??? I give this fragrance 9/10, I love this stuff!!!

I can never speak negatively about this fragrance. It was what I used to use as a teenager, I always used it, night and day and in all seasons, for me it doesn't have a defined target or an ideal season to wear it, because it's simply good! I'm obviously talking about the Euroitalia version, Bought the annoscuro in an old shop in the center, I heard the new one is a lot of chemist (but go?), To tell the truth also the opening of the old D&G PH knows a little 'of chemist, perhaps the lemon-lavender from this effect, but it is only the opening, then it opens and makes its quality felt. I hear lavender, tobacco, sweet citrus fruits, musks and tonka, then citric and sparkling opening, and at the end sweet and slightly herbaceous. Very clean sheets, obviously not the clean dixan that is going very fashionable in recent years. The scent is fairly linear, and although all these qualities are difficult to put into a single fragrance, in this I find a sort of balance that is difficult to find in other fragrances. It will not be a scent that amazes, but does not even want to be, perhaps for this a little underrated, but it is an excellent perfume, rich, linear and elegant. I do not recommend the new version, look for the old Euroitaly with the velvet box and rectangular aluminum plate, you won't regret it Rating: 8 / 8.5

As we speak - I have bought 5 different bottles... In my hand right now I’m holding a Dolce & Gabbana Eau De Toilette with a sticker in the front. The bottom of the bottle says: DOLCE & GABBANA POUR HOMME EAU DE TOILETTE 79% VOL e75ml/25 US FL. OZ 503804 MADE IN ITALY EUROITALIA SRL 20052 MONZA (MI) I can smell the musk/ the iris/ the cedar & amber so blended well not as much soapiness as the made in France bottle which I also own with no label just printed on the bottle .. I could smell I. The middle the coriander (which I’m not a fan of ) I can’t smell as much aromatic sweetness bc the bergamot is very sharp along with the other herbs like the sage and the lavender... I don’t know if I’ll sell it in the future as I collect pre - reformulated bottles for collection and value .. I store all of these in their boxes and I keep them hidden in a dark dry cool place in my home ... having all the different ones in front of me I can tell there is a difference.. I don’t know if this is vintage - but If so I once smelt this on a name .... and on a mans skin it is pure royalty - the Epitomy of a gentleman as it brings out more sweet woody notes which make this scent a magnet I reviewed the bottle on my you tube channel with the bottle in the video on my Pop Mary YT - on the 6th September 2020 Best wishes

I have a miniature bottle of the original formulation and I've been wearing it a lot lately. I really, really like it. Reason being is I find it so versatile. Casual yet elegant therefore lending itself to being suitable for a day at the office or a night on the town. The original formulation is smooth. I don't find it cloying, overpowering or offensive in the least. Nothing about it disturbs my nose. It must really be of good quality as it doesn't trigger my allergies the way that some cheap colognes do. Starts off with a touch of citrus and settles into something soft, spicy and powdery. The fragrance is blended so well that it's hard for me to pinpoint each note. A wonderfully harmonious scent. It has no problem lasting on my skin all day and I admittedly enjoy when I catch a whiff here and there as I'm moving around. I also have the reformulated version and I do like it as well but not as much as I love the original version. The new version isn't as smooth or as well blended and leaves me wishing they had left it alone and hadn't messed with the original classic masterpiece. This is currently a favourite of mine to wear but I'm trying to make my tiny bottle last as long as possible so I don't run out too fast! A great men's scent that should be part of every guy's collection.

D&G PH is without a shadow of doubt, my third all time favorite designer fragrance. The Made In Italy version is of course the best & the only way to go. The newer batches which have been mentioned countless of times throughout this thread are nothing like the original. Everything about this fragrance is created & blended well. The notes do not fight to see who will lead the way, it is like a riding in the back of a Mercedes S Class! There is nothing like it. Projection & longevity are top notch & will get you through a 8 hour work day. If your skin eats up fragrances you may need to try other methods & keep a decant on you. This will ALWAYS be in my collection. It screams the 90's & men who looked & smelled sophisticated. You simply can't go wrong with this. I find this really shines in spring/fall weather! Both seasons bring out the best in this fragrance. I would not wear it in the extreme heat & if I did, it would be summer nights ONLY! This garners compliments ( at least for me ) but even if it didn't who cares? This is a hell of a fragrance & one of the top frags to make it's entrance the ever so popular 90's run of fragrances! It also outshines the mass crap being produced today IMO! Do yourself a favor & treat yourself to some italian luxury! *****

finally i have the euroitalia vintage version. it's so chic, manly and sophisticated. a bit mature if u smell it now but in the 90's it was very popular among the young crowd.i remember the famous tv spot in the 1994 with a young monica bellucci, beautiful and sensual. the scent opens with citrus notes but the main note is tobacco(cigar for me), in the middle there are a lot of things, lavender, sage, sandalwood..this is what the uk reformulation lacks, it is very similar but it misses some notes, so the last version is less rich .in the uk formulation the citrus note is more powerful and a bit cheap,instead the cigaro smell is more prominent and refined in the old version. what the vintage reminds to me? a man between 28-35 in a sunny morning, smoking a cigar or an expensive tobacco in front of the sea. not a rare picture for who like me lives in the south of italy. performance is good, not a beast but nothing to complain. longevity: 5-6hours sillage:1-2 hours. projection: good, not offensive but detectable. age: 28 and up. occasion: everytime, everywhere. a true italian beauty. un classico inimitabile! scent: 9,5 longevity: 7,5 sillage: 7,5 uniqueness: 9 bottle: 7 versatility: 8,5 compliment factor-8 my vote: 9,5 in one word: italy

★★★★★ I have two vintage versions of this. One is a 75ml Euroitalia “Made in Italy” bottle (2006) and the other one is a 125ml P&G tester bottle (2008) which funnily enough is “Made in Italy” as well! Both versions have the sticker logo. The tester bottle has better performance. It’s not beast, but it’s long lasting and it projects well. This lives up to its hype, being a 90s classic fresh masculine with a honey tobacco sweetness. Citruses and lavender provide an invigorating start and mid, while tobacco, amber and musk take charge, giving it depth and sensuality. I am confused with my tester bottle in comparison to my Euroitalia one. Even though they smell identical, the P&G tester that’s still made in Italy has better longevity and projection. I have never heard of a P&G era bottle being made in Italy as well. Maybe because it’s a tester who knows? In conclusion, one of the classiest designer fragrances of men, that remind me how beautiful perfumery used to be, and how niche fragrances nowadays are pretentious and a majority of them inferior to designers of the past. I am hoping the latest “Made in France” version will be close enough, since the German and UK ones disappointed most of the fans.

Made in Italy is totally different to made in France and made in Germany bottles (let’s not mention made in UK version because it’s probably the worst reformulation in perfumery industry lol), they of course have the same vibe as it is the same scent but the MII has monster of silage and last for days, you literally have to rub it off with some soap in order to get rid of it. The MIG and MIF are an ok average silage abs you’ll probably have to re apply during the day after a few hours. The boldness of the original MII by euroitalia is an exquisite liquor that changed the perfumery industry in early 90s. There’s a MII version made by P&G which has probably the most resemblance to the original MII by Euroitalia. I was 16 years old when this was released and I could smell it in every party from every guy when we used to go out. It was THE perfume. Probably comparable to what TF did in his early release, although in the 90s you were popular or not ...there was no space for middle brands lol......IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MII BY EUROITALIA YOU ARE SMELLING A DIFFERENT PERFUME LOL

..because of my obsession...I went ahead and bought 3 made in Italy bottles off perfume cali on ebay...not a plug...after learning about redormaulations and getting burned on buying made in uk...garbage...then got Germany made as back up...that I didnt mind...heard made in france is pretty close lacking ad much tobacco...sounds promising...BEWARE...there r 2 made in Italy versions!!!! I got 2nd one more floral and robust..not as good as euroitlias 1st version ...not worth 100 plus imo...vive le france I hope! ;-) The first digit, however, indicates the year. Here it is in a few words: until 1995: five-digits batch number (for example 45321: first digit is 4, so it means "produced in 1994") from 1996 to 2005 second version made in italy: six-digits batch number ( for example 635423 or 702765 or 945832: these mean "produced in 1996, 1997, 1999", respectively) from 2006 ger: four-digits batch number...then uk now france etc etc

There's no more this version, because the reformulation is different I tried the new formulation from France and I can tell you is different the vintage version made in Italy. It goes to be similar at drydown after 2 hour when it reach the dry down it become closest the vintage but you can feel that it citrus and more Tobacco at final. If really love the vintage and want something identical I invite you try Uomini from Boticario; it is a Brazilian brand but this perfume I can tell you is 99% similar the vintage version. I have the vintage bottle and I did the test; therefore, there's no difference between it. Maybe the longevity and some notes but the smell is 100% the same; better than the new one formulation that is not bad but I prefer the vintage because is sexier and the compliment through the roof. If you guys have any question let me know, I will help you, that's the reason from this community; help each other.

I strated using this when it was lauched.I wore it until 2012. I was not sure that something happened to the perfume since my last 2-3 bottles (boght around 2010) reminded me of gasoline (like when you are filling your car tank). It is when I read on this site that I realized that they have changed it. The change is not really apparent to my nose and most persons would not notice it. I made a side by side test and the difference is not that drastic. It is funny when I read about how masculine this perfume is. When it was launched, it was clearly an androgynous perfume mostly worn by gays. I recalled wearing the legendary BY (sadly discontinued) and DG Pour Homme was way better. This perfume remebers me my youth. It is still possible to buy the silver label here in montreal, I have a 75 ml, but there are 125ml available. I am still unsure if I should buy another 125 ml, just to make sure... Perhaps I will regret it.

It's funny how people go bonkers over D&G By Man, when this vintage D&G Pour Homme is easily as good. It's actually my choice between the 2 as I've owned both and recently sold off my bottle of By Man, but I'll always have Pour Homme in the collection. In fact I just found another stash of vintage 2007 bottles and bought 3 more. While I think the reformulated version is still a great scent in the scheme of things (especially amongst today's many 'sweet messes' of men's perfumery), it doesn't hold a candle to the vintage. This is easily one of the greatest men's fragrances ever created - distinctive, unapologetically masculine, extremely well-blended and versatile. Wearing this today I couldn't help but put some thoughts down on paper. If you happen across vintage Made In Italy D&G PH, buy it. Heck, blind buy it. Just get your nose on this if you haven't, you won't regret it!

Bought the "new" version because I didn't know any better at the time. Didn't enjoy it. Found out there was a way better first formulation made in Italy and has a sticker as opposed to printed text on bottle. This is older version so much better. The way I can try to convey how these two differ, imagine this, the original 1994 formulation, being an original fragrance and then the newer Pour Homme is like a clone house trying to copy it. Usually when you smell the original fragrance you can sense it's depth and character, whereas the clone house is boring, kinda smells like it, nothing special. I could blind test the two side by side and 100 times out of a 100 I could distinguish between the older and newer version, that's how dissimilar they are. I'm so glad I didn't let my distaste for the new version keep me any longer from obtaining this awesome fragrance.

Well, somehow today i found Euroitalia bottle from 2005 it seems, got it an hour ago. Man... It has been a while. It was a fragrance that my late dad gifted me in 2003, what a time in the world, eh ? I was a kid basically, just out of school into university, and frankly, it was not a youthful fragrance. But even then, i recognised it's strength, poise, elegant masculinity, that i had to live up to, when i sprayed it on me. Well, many years later we meet again, still the same beautiful, strong, fresh and mesmerising fragrance, that hasn't lost its power. I have a recent formulation and an Intenso version on my shelf, just looking silly and goofy next to this gem now. Really in my feelings now, can't say much more. Ready to stay with this only fragrance for the rest of my life if there was ever such a choice. Damn, I've been missing it so much

Quite simply, the essence of goodness. This was the fragrance that I wore to my grade 8 graduation and it brings back the memory of dancing with this really tall girl who liked me. Hahaha, nothing became of it, but the pleasant feelings remained. An elegant spicy scent that's beautifully smooth on the dry-down. In my opinion, a fragrance that every man should own. Very safe blind buy. Imagine: Sitting at a grand piano in jeans and a sport coat, playing Franz Shubert's Op.90 Impromptu in A Flat Major. You don't care if anyone is watching because you're lost in the moment. The light is dim and the music reverberates around the small hall where you remember starring in Hamlet last spring. Think: Beautiful, Spicy, Smooth, Elegant, Sophisticated Overall: 10/10 - I've never met a woman or man who doesn't like this one.

This is for the vintage formulation with the sticker label. This is a masterpiece! 12/10. I just got my hands on a mini splash bottle of the stuff and it’s incredible! Classic, masculine, fresh, citrusy, floral, and the kind of green earthy vibe. I need to use a bit more and keep testing, haven’t picked up a ton of base notes yet on my skin. But it seems to last a long time and be pretty strong. I just got the modern (2012) Made in Italy formulation as well, supposed to be the closest to this one. So far it’s a bit weaker and not as complex and the note breakdown agrees. I’m going to keep testing that as well. Not sure why it was ever reformulated so significantly. Too bad remaining vintage bottles are crazy $$$ otherwise I’d be using this stuff nearly everyday!

Opening: Strong scent of lavender and hints of citrus. Very powerful and projecting on the opening spray. The lavender is natural and soothing. With the citrus mix it does smell a tad bit soapy. Drydown: The lavender becomes mellow and maintains in the base with a sweet tobacco and cardamom. The tobacco takes over with slight hints of amber as it runs thru its cycle in the day. At the very end of its dry down I can detect a faint rose note that's mild and refreshing as its dead on to a smell of a rose. Projection: VERY HIGH A single spray can fill a room Longevity: Lasts all day 8 to 10 hours Overall: This is based on the "Made in Italy Version" It's unique and draws in compliments. Great stuff! Purchase: YES if you can find the Italian version buy it!

I absolutely loved this..it really did tickle my senses when my hubby first wore this in the 90s then boyfriend. So when he set me challenge for this Christmas fragrance prezzie, to get him a scent that did exactly that in 2022, because his last bottle of this ended 2013. HaHa and I've bought him many over the years but non really tickled the senses alike then this. Where do I start...? Last one where I thought 'god you smell so good, let's stay in tonight' was Givenchy Gentleman Absolute and a Ralph Lauren one that's now discontinued think in a plain black bottle and a can't remember if was a silver horse or red horse, worn on holiday which he bought himself at the airport. But I've never revisited D&G with the new versions, should I?

@shayz - Yes, I am not sure what the logic behind this is.. It seems that they are trying to update the site.. They are changing pictures of the fragrances and even changing the pictures of the notes but "if it ain't broke don't fix it".. The correct picture for this page was on here previously and now someone had to try to update the page and put the "wrong" picture on here.. Even some of the pictures of the notes they are changing do not look half as nice as the original picture.. Once again "if it ain't broke don't fix it".. There is nothing wrong with updating the site but don't try to fix things that don't need fixing because than you mess it up in the process..

Soft lavender with a very good dose of lemon. This citrus and lavender combo is so nice and rich.In the dry down the citrus effect is still active,but combined with this soapy tobacco notes and lavender. Its so fresh to my nose and wearing this in summer is going to be so easy. Very decent longevity more than 6 hours and on clothes 10+ hours for sure. The sillage is also very good. The bottle I got is a 2009 Made in Germany bottle. I haven't smelt the vintage nor was I aware of this talk going on between bottles made in Italy, Germany ,UK .....Anyway I loved this version and it makes me happy.

This is a COMPLIMENT-MAGNET that lasts a very long time with enormous projection, but be easy on the trigger as this can easily be overpowering. With that said, D&G Pour Homme is also highly recommended by almost every cosmetics counter girl I've spoken with for what it's worth. Amazing, incredible, and sexy are the words they most often used to describe it. Definitely a classic but never feels dated, and easily versatile enough to be a killer signature scent. Check it out, you'll probably be impressed. If not, I'm sure there's a few cosmetics counter girls out there that will be!

The picture above which was just changed does not match! This page was supposed to be for the original Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, the original formula "Made In Italy" with the sticker on the bottle.. The first picture on this page was correct so I do not know why the picture was just changed to the reformulated bottle.. Now it seems like their are two different pages for the reformulation and none of the original formula? Their is already a whole separate page for the reformulated release of Pour Homme.. Keep the original picture up, this is just going to confuse everyone..

This is what a man should smell like, sweet but musky,strong but gentle. My Dad had it back in 1997 and he wouldn't let me use it, then gave it to to my big brother who never wore it so I would use it tell it ran out in 8th grade. Many years later I bought what I thought was the classic D&G to only find out it was a remake....No Bueno.... I could tell it wasn't the same nor did I like it much. I just ordered some online, comes in Tuesday...if it is the original I'll buy 2 more and one for my old man as a thanks for showing me it even if he didn't let me wear it.

Clean Mediterranean citrus up front — sharp, dry, immediately put-together. The lavender follows without being soft about it. Then tobacco underneath that grounds everything and keeps it from going too fresh. This is a dinner fragrance that doesn't announce itself as one. It just works in that context without trying. The kind of thing you spray before leaving the house and forget about, which is exactly what a well-made fragrance should let you do. Underrated in a category full of louder options. Worth revisiting if you haven't in a while.

Love this fragrance, one of my all time favorites, no question! I have not smelled the reformulation so i can't say (I still have a weee tiny bit from a 1999 batch and I will never touch it afraid I'll never smell it again LOL) a word about it but the vintage stuff is gold in a bottle! If you can get your hand on the vintage formula, BLIND buy it, this is hands down one of the most celebrated men's fragrances to ever hit shelves, plus it smell INCREDIBLE!!! This to me is a perfect 10 in every catagory! -HP

I currently have 3x75 ml and 2x125ml. I also have over 50 other fragrances but I beep coming back to this one. I doused myself in my oldest 75ml and I’m taken back to high school and the clubs thereafter. I recently found a full 125ml of vintage here in Japan that I don’t need but will buy cuz it cost less than the new stuff. This fragrance is aromatic and fresh in the sense before “blue” BS took over. You can wear it to a wedding or a funeral. Playing sports or butt naked. Timeless masterpiece.

Not going to add to the millions of words that have already been said about this masterpiece. If you are, or call yourself a collector of fragrance and if you do not have this in your collection then I'm afraid you are just kidding yourself. I have been hearing some really good things about the currently made in the UK reformulation, thus I will make my way to sephora soon enough and find out if it comes anywhere close to the orginal masterpiece that was 1994's Dolce&Gabbana pour homme.

This page is supposed to be for the original 1994 formula of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, hence their should be an image of the original bottle to reflect that! The image that is currently displayed above is not the correct image for the original fragrance & hence will cause confusion.. The image of the bottle should be of the same bottle seen in the ad campaign next to it with the sticker..

tonight I went to my brother homme after greeting and eating dinner he said I search for one of my parfume that I can`t find it gucci I whispered to myself envy hi brought thier perfumes suprisingly it was gucci envy i sprang and seized it .Dolce&Gabbana pour homme vintage with lable on the bottle was amongst them.he said It`s yours.Im so happy to own another vintage.As I remember it has clean .fresh green citrusy smell 8.5/10

The review below me does a good job of breaking down the batch codes.. I have a Full 2.5oz 2005 bottle I think, that I purchased for $25, and I absolutely love it! This is my third bottle after selling the first two because something wasn’t just right with those. They seemed like a top or mid note have “gone off”. But my new bottle is super fresh with that classic D&G scent! Plus the bottle with the sticker is just a classic!!

Here it is in a few words: until 1995: five-digits batch number (for example 45321: first digit is 4, so it means "produced in 1994") from 1996 to 2005 second version made in Italy: six-digits batch number (for example 635423 or 702765 or 945832: these mean "produced in 1996, 1997, 1999", respectively) from 2006 Ger: four-digits batch number...then uk now france etc etc

D&G never fail to impress me, they always come up with stylish and interesting perfumes. By Man is a masterpiece, The One is sexy, and now this is classic. Pour Homme opening has that typical fresh fougere vibe, it start to shine in the dry down where the beautiful tobacco note come to life, and it’s superbly blended with creamy and spicy notes. It’s a very solid and versatile perfume. You can wear it all year round.

This was my signature scent back in late 90's, early 00's. It was the most popular one together with Aqua di Gio where I lived. Personally before I buy it, I had asked most of my female fiends for suggestions and this was by far the most suggested. This was a great scent and I'm happy I was able to find a euroitalia version recently. It projects nostalgia and 90's optimism. New version is good but not great.

The new one I don't like, there is the same main note like in The Dreamer, but this vintage version, although not 100% my taste, is a perfect fragrance, there is no better, just different. Rounded, smooth and soft, sexy, lasts and projects the whole day, this scent is a delight! It's even the most versatile fragrance I know of, usable in any occasion, any time of the year. PERFECTION! 10./10

Omg this was it IT scent for men at the super sexy all night club parties in NYC in the late 90s 1997-2000 . I loved it soo much , it instantly made a man go from ok to yum. Btw im a female.year later 2016 i got myself a bottle sadly it lost some of its ummp longevity and sillage.....whyyyy did you change this heavenly creation. You are doing a disservice to men, and women everywhere

Do not hesitate in buying the new 2012 bottle made in the uk it is almost the same if anything to my nose it smells even better just give it a chance for the fans of the sticker bottle. The tobacco is a little toned down here but the citrus is amplified making it fresher. amazing scent doesn't matter which formulation you buy i have one multiple bottles of all the formulation.

I LOVE this one and have for YEARS so much that i've purchased it in the past just to have a deep inhale from time to time. It's that damn sexy! I have yet to smell a cologne that is similar to it. I don't think I would classify it as a 90s smell, although it might have been the 1Million of the 90s. To me, this is straight up masculine and sexy. I wish more men would wear it.

Very masculine and long lasting masterpiece it will make women go crazy haha with this citrus and fancy smelling cologne you will have a good experience more than the new 2012 version because that UK from 2012 smells like pure tobacco and the smell is very unbearable, if you want something great the vintage D&G that was launched in 1994 made in Italy is the perfect one

Need to leave another review. Managed to get hold of a vintage Italy bottle off EBay. By far the greatest fragrance ever to Grace the earth. Every day I’m on the look out for more of these if they become available. I wore this every day when I got my first bottle aged 15. Will co ti he to eat it every day untill it runs out Anyone in the UK fancy selling me a bottle?

If you can imagine the smell of a solar explosion, then that's it: D&G Pour Homme! The first and still the best perfume of D&G. In its classic form - bottle with a sticker -, that juice is an eternal symbol in the culture of masculinity. Intense and tender, clear and audacious. You'll need time (i.e. age) to fully understand it. Another 9+/10 liquid miracle.

Love this. One of my first ever fragrances. Still have the original one I got in middle school. I’m 35 and I appreciate this so much more now. Classic scent.
