Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso

I really had to think about what this fragrance reminds me of for a long time, but it came to me today that it must be fresh, cherry-infused pipe tobacco, like the kind smoked by youngish bearded hipsters I used to know on the West Coast. It is a pleasant and reassuring fragrance based on a theme rather than a season; therefore, it transcends the seasons or time of day, and I like that, too. The packaging, especially the faux suede box, might be reminiscent of a humidor or a tobacco pouch, such as one uses to hold loose tobacco, and pipes are a completely masculine implement which supercharges the macho feeling of the whole presentation. After that initial, intoxicating opening of cherry tobacco wonderfulness that lasts an exceptionally long while, the hay and bran emerge, giving weight to the bouquet and preventing the fruity tobacco from becoming cloying or gourmand while evoking a pastoral element not often appreciated or even found in fragrance. The floral notes and exotic Moepel are there as well, but waft along in a warm sort of aromatic breeze, not making themselves completely known, but adding an expressive, romantic score to the radiant tobacco heart. Something like the way Rachmaninoff can make you weep for joy if you just listen to the music and forget all the clichés about the music. I guess if I had to pick a season for this fragrance it would be summer, but not in the typical cooling way of citrus, mint and aquatic notes. (In fact, although water notes are listed, I don’t find them here at all.) I feel it more in the way of ripening fruit, tobacco plantations, fields of tall grass or lavender, and tropical Africa: many imaginative, corpulent scenarios that are pleasing and far removed from city life and the crush of humanity. Wearing it is like taking a private jet to St. Barts while everyone else is flying coach to Disney World. That is what DGI should be and most definitely is, in my opinion. I did an awful lot of traveling the last few months and found myself wanting to wear this everywhere I went with positive inquiries following. Should I address the hatred? Well, it’s that whole synth vs. niche thing that seems to be the eternal struggle here on Fragrantica. I was reading a review one purist wrote about another widely available fragrance which I happen to know (and he had to acknowledge) was quite good, but he laid out his acclaim in the most disingenuous way possible, as if he were traumatized by his own words of praise as he wrote them and made sure to include contemptuous salvos like “cheapo”, analogies to McDonald’s hamburgers (made of pink slime, but oh so tasty!), and qualified his remarks by saying he isn‘t used to “this side” of the fragrance world (the $100 or less slums), as if the development and marketing of any successful fragrance with broad appeal isn’t a complex and thoughtful challenge for anyone to undertake. Pretty soon, the reviewer was no longer coherent and his dismissive pseudo-tech snickering became a neurotic treatise which should have been titled “Why I Must Like This Vile, Mass Produced, Generic Crap“. Perhaps it's the unrelenting conceit I find objectionable in these matters. So, I say trust your own judgment here. If you think DGI is insipid, then don’t wear it, but don't make a pastime of low-balling others who may be willing to embrace molecules for which you hold antipathy. There are P&G fragrances I avoid, but this isn’t one of them. I started out liking DGI and now, to borrow a McDonaldism, “I’m Lovin’ It!”

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 243 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased December 2025 Noticed this in the shop recently and decided if I have to, it's the 75mL. It was their last in the 75 and the most affordable versus the 50 and 125. I also own the original in 75mL, as a small collection of Italians it's a brilliant aesthetic. Intenso is excellent, I could wear it basically whenever I want and as much as I want because D&G have still got what it takes to make this and the original smell about 99% true to the 90s-2010s. I wouldn't be upset once I run out of it because it's 75mL, it lasts a long time, projects, sillage and all, is manly yet not overboard and distracting or upsetting to others. This is what one needs to remind why you're off the coke yet remember how good those times were, also to bare your rugged chest and smell like something great as if there isn't a 'tomorrow'. To be honest I don't get much hay, more of a freshly opened garden shop. Hay is an animalic green due to its farming origin, and there's nothing completely wrong with animal based auras/notes. I haven't chucked out the box yet because it looks fucking amazing in the dark brown nubuck, suede velvet - this looks completely different in real life, do not go by what it looks like in the cellophane, the shop window, nor online; The box appearance has to remind you of the leather jacket, saddled up westerns and coastal lowrider cruises checkin the machines out, the babes too..babes too. They'll love it, you will, and anybody else. This somehow works in the desert and coastal. It keeps selling out in my area for years now. Are they birthday gifts or unisex dumb reachers? I dunno, but the people in my area love D&G for decades I'm sure they wear to enjoy. This more than competent cologne has to be better than the normal version and I remember preferring this after testing it earlier this year. The normal one has too much soap and not enough tobacco. The pepper spice is nice but it's simply not enough; this is where you call upon Intenso. I smelt this for about 24 hours on the first day I bought it, that simply never happens with cheap EDPs. I also never wear anything 3 times a week, almost, but with the Intenso I have so far. Spray 5 to 10 times per area and it'll last late into the night. It's a crime to smell this good with no fucks given thanks to Dolce & Gabbana. Batch: B12802 from 7th May, 2024.

I bought this fragrance back in 2014 when it first came out. I used it as my daily driver and loved it. One year later in 2015 I moved on to a different fragrance and left Intenso on the back shelf. I tried to hand it off to my 21 year old son, but I assume it must’ve been too mature for his taste. Because I gave it to him in 2020 and I don’t think he ever wore it. Fast forward to today, June 2nd, 2023. I was in my son’s room playing scavenger hunt because I’ve given him so many of my fragrances that are really good but had grown tired of and felt they were too good to never get used. As I’m looking amongst his 20 or so bottles, low and behold, sitting in the back of his closet, looking like it hadn’t been reached for since I gave it to him, was D&G Intenso. The bottle has a certain sex appeal to it. Modern and elegant. So I decided to make it my fragrance of the evening since I hadn’t worn it in almost 8 years. It still smells amazing! Something else I didn’t catch onto before is that Intenso is actually a flanker to Dolce&Gabbana pour Homme (1994). Even the bottle is shaped similar. I used to LOVE the vintage Pour Homme version and for the first time after all these years I’m just now picking up the vintage DNA is very prominent. After wearing it tonight, it’s going back into my rotation. This fragrance has always been signature scent worthy. Perfect for office or date night. It’s basically good for any occasion when you are well dressed and want to smell like you have your life together and not a stranger to successful outcomes. Very underrated and unfairly hated by the fragrance community. But that’s no surprise as it seems to be more and more common. Hype for things that are mediocre and hate for things that are works of olfactory excellence. Versatility- 9/10 (great day or night, any season) Longevity - 9/10 (lasts a solid 8 hours on skin - longer on clothes) Projection - 8/10 (projects more like a parfum) Sillage - 8/10 (has a noticeable presence) Personal Enjoyment/Nostalgia - 10/10 (I love that I can smell the OG vintage Pour Homme DNA)

An updated version of the old school type of male fragrance. For $30-35 it's a bargain compared to most. When first putting it on I get a balsamic hay note. Then a sort of molasses type vibe, it reminds me a bit of shoo fly pie type of molasses. Combined with the hay note and a sort of oatmeal note... don't assume this is a bad thing, it then reminds me a little of a sweet feed vibe like you get from the sweet feed given to horses. Not saying it smells like sweet feed, but the vibe is there for me. This is just for the first 30 minutes or so and there's also the herb notes and florals with it. It also has a herbaceous quality to it. It's kind of what a wealthy cattle rancher might wear when cleaning up to go to town. Or a guy that misses old school type scents, but doesn't want to smell old school. If that makes sense. I am retired, but if I still worked an office it would be a perfect wear to work scent in an office where strong projecting scents would get you a trip to see HR. Don't let my description scare you off because the top doesn't last really long and the dry down itself is very nice albeit subdued. Which is perfect for the office. I get a unique take on tobacco and the florals are there in the background and not overly sweet at all. It is more of an up close scent and if you think it's completely gone after 4 hours, it comes back when you move around, wear it to bed and the dry down is still there the next morning when you wake up. It lasts longer than most think. I would agree with the folks who say a woman could wear it, but it's a man's fragrance. Not sure if it would draw compliments from women working in an office, but it will give a nice vibe that you smell like a man. It's a comfort scent to me. Never tried the original, but this I really do like. It's pretty unique as well.

Classic Dolce&Gabbana men scent. One that maintains its relevance and charm even today. It’s indeed a very intense fragrance, very complex and nuanced, versatile, distinctive smelling and beautifully blended. It has a bit of sweetness and it does feel silky. It doesn’t smell like anything else from the designer world but it doesn’t feel outdated. Bare in mind that it was launched a decade ago... This has a very nostalgic feel to me. It was my husband’s first designer scent, when we met. Since then, throughout the years, I have gifted him two others big bottles and I don’t think that it’s been butchered like many other older releases. It’s mainly a very smooth lavender combined with tobacco, basil leaves, clary sage, cypress and some floral notes. What makes this absolutely gorgeous is the juxtaposition between the aromatic, greenness, freshness of the top and mid notes against the warmth and heaviness of the base. It has a healthy dose of amber and labdanum plus some creamy sandalwood. It’s such an interesting blend of notes that fit most of the seasons. It’s a year round fragrance, except high heat, that still performs impeccable and, being an old release, can be found everywhere for such an affordable price today. If anyone would smell this blindfolded, I bet most people would think it’s niche or Tom Ford private blend. Smells ten times more expensive than it costs! This is an interesting designer release that I would recommend to every men that’s over the age of 25 in 2024. So underrated and sooo good!

Compared to previous reviews, my experience was really different. I went into this scent with my target on tobacco. The tobacco in this is awesome. It's pipe tobacco! I would have said cherry tobacco but could be honey I guess. Not to say this is sweet, the florals and wood in this balance out. The blend settles in at the one hour mark as the tobacco dries down. I love this, and in my mid thirties, I'll wear this everywhere except work. This is what the boss wears when he's at play. The dry down may yet remind you of the original pour homme from D&G but the metallic lavender citrus blend that I associate with is overpowered by the tobacco here. And this is why I love it so so much. 11/10 The tobacco in Reyane's Insurrection 2 Wild was way too sweet for me and a bit too medicinal ... this on the other hand is so perfect! The tobacco also has a similar vibe to English Laundry Windsor but has a serious attitude whereas Windsor is more cuddly. Smelling this on paper, I thought it was going to be a sleepier version of Versace Dreamer. On skin the tobacco is much more heavy and pipe leaning whereas in Dreamer, the tobacco flower is clean and fresh. Also Varvatos Vintage is called to mind because the structure feels similar, the difference with Vintage is I get a cigarette pack vibe with that one instead. Also amazing but I like this one more...

I love Intenso. It's so unique. Is it intense as the name suggests? No. But it is woodier, more mature, and I would say maltier than the original. The hay and bran notes bring out a hint of grainy sweetness, which to me smells like the amber or crystal malt used in the early stages of brewing. It's also very fresh and green, with basil, lavender, and cypress teaming up throughout. The tobacco is subtle, but it's there. People love to hate on this. I don't know why exactly, but maybe they were expecting something else due to the odd name. But I'll never understand how this community complains incessantly about the lack of originality in modern releases, but when something comes along that is truly different, it gets labelled as strange. If originality is what we want, then there's got to be some room for trying something unusual. Well, I'm on board with this one. It smells like a self-assured man of complex and refined tastes. There is nothing macho here. There is no need for it. Just freshness and mature confidence. It looks great on a black walnut shelf. I hope it remains a hidden gem so that there is more for me when my bottle inevitably runs dry.

Dolce Gabbana Intense is an aromatic, herbal and spicy fragrance. Its opening is herbal with a fresh and almost cold lavender, but very aromatic. In a few minutes the spices are present with a tobacco, soapy and aquatic sensation, the spices of this fragrance are more of a herbal and fresh type Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso is a versatile fragrance, it could be used at any time of the year, office work or family outings. It gives a sense of sobriety, neatness and at the same time gentlemanly. The scent is undeniably masculine. His duration with me was 8 hours. approximately, but with sillage at skin level. The aroma is very similar to the original version, but in this version the smell of tobacco and spices is accentuated, but it is still a pleasant and attractive aroma. For some people maybe the smell be boring, and really isn ́t exciting, but for me is very nice and masculine, as the first aquatic-herbal fragrances of 90s.

Dolce & Gabbana Intenso is criminally underrated, especially considering how similar it is to the highly rated Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme. It should be at least a quarter point higher if not a half point. Intenso is a sweeter, warmer version of Pour Homme, and it's great. Nothing mind-blowing; just an all-around pleasant masculine fragrance as others have noted. If you like Pour Homme then you'll like Intenso -- almost to the point that Intenso might be redundant, but I actually think the two complement each other nicely. Whereas Pour Homme is a fresher three-season fragrance (spring, summer, fall), I think you could easily rock Intenso year-round. It's clean and aromatic enough for spring and summer but warm and heavy enough for colder seasons, a facet that is likely owed primarily to the tobacco note. This is a candidate for an all-season signature scent IMO.

I had an original sticker label bottle many years ago.. i will say it was my all time favorite.. sadly it seemed to run out haha.. so I bought a new version. It is ok but just doesn't match to the sticker label.. so I picked up 2 bottles of intenso because overall reviews we're great.. and 2 because I love the scent profile that much and wanted to make sure I had good supply.. well I'm disappointed.. I'm in canadian winter right now so I'm hoping hot weather amplifies it.. but on my skin it's so weak.. 10 sprays and I have a hard time picking it up on clothing it is far better especially if I wrap my nose in it. The scent profile is absolutely amazing it just does not shine on my skin. Looking forward to warm weather and an update on sillage.

For me smells like if you bathed hay and tobacco leaf in soapy water but the soap was the expensive hotel kind, the hay and tobacco invokes this almost creamy and smooth texture when paired with the lavender, projection and longevity it decent, there’s nothing beastmode or insane but with a fragrance like this less is more, I can see this being a decent everyday just less on sprays in warmer weather, I’m probably biased when it comes to this fragrance because I’ve always loved it since I was younger but I haven’t really smelt anything just like this fragrance( keep in mind I haven’t really smelt a lot).

Love the scent. Masterfully blended creamy aromatic perfume... honestly, it’s quite difficult to pick up a single note, it’s just one deliciously blended intoxicating aroma. One of my favorite scents, although I don’t understand the “Intenso” moniker... it smells quite the same as the original Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme from the nineties, it’s not more intense, it doesn’t last longer, it doesn’t project any farther... it’s just quite the same. It can be worn all year long, but it requieres constant reapplying to last throughout the day. As many others say, it’s a great scent with terrible performance.

This is definetly my go-to! I found a small bottle of this in my desk at school when I was little and didn't pay any mind to it. I found the bottle years later while moving and was instantly in LOVE. I immediately purchased a big bottle. Even though it's technically for men, I would say it's very unisex. I'm a woman and I got lots of compliments on it from other women and they were shocked to find out it's a male fragrance! It's warm, cozy and a bit smokey. I'd recommend this with my whole heart to anyone.

Very pleased with this perfume. Although most here describe it as a fragrance without longevity and silage, for me it is quite beyond expectations, especially when applied to clothes.I own the tester version from 2022 . I would describe it as a clean, fresh smell, like a luxury soap. Very comforting to wear, gives you a feeling fresh and a state of relaxation. Although quite similar to the toilet water version, it seems to me more rounded, more wearable, at least from my point of view.

I was working in the cosmetics section of a department store when this was launched. A little old man walked by my booth and I found myself walking after him trying to figure out what smelled so good, it turns out the perfume girls had doused the poor man with Intenso. I bought a bottle that I planned to give my boyfriend at the time, but thankfully I kept it for myself. This scent it so unbelievably delicious to me, I wear it occasionally because it’s so beautiful.

To put it simply, it's the original with some added spice to it ( not much, just a hint ) The original was a banger, and this one is also. It's also a beast as well that leaves you with a nice scent bubble around you. I'm writing this after 7 hours of wear. Best fit for the cooler/fall time weather. Can easily become a staple for someone that is an easy crowd pleaser. After wearing this for a few days now, this has gone from a like from me, to a love.

One of my very first fragrances when I started to collect on my own rather then just gifted bottles. Masculine, smooth, and has a very nice crisp note blend to make for a special, unique fragrance that I still appreciate to this day even with all my other fragrances. I would imagine older batches lasted longer because my newest I got a couple years back was nothing compared to the strength of my first intenso bottle. 9/10. From my opinion

I have had Intenso for at least 6-7 years , last time I wore it was in 2019 and I was not a big fan. Today I watched a YouTube review "Top 10 tobacco" and it was mentioned there , so I sprayed it... I don`t remember Intenso to be that good ,for real. Maybe it`s the age factor because I didn`t like aromatics that much when I was younger. Longevity >6 hours and moderate projection after first 3h.

To me, the ideal fragrance for a nice Autumn day, or a cool Spring evening. I also wear it during the Winter and during Summer evenings. It's a bit woody, tobacco, but also fresh and aromatic. There's so much going on here..I just love to smell this stuff on myself. As with many D&G fragrances, performance could be better. For around E65,- for 125ml this is amazing stuff.

I picked it up for a discount recently because I wanted to try it and I'm very pleasantly surprised. it's a very fresh spicy sort of fragrance and it's definitely suitable for all seasons day or night. my girlfriend hates tobacco and tobacco notes but it doesn't stand out too much nor does it bother her. overall a great fragrance if you can find it for 50$ or less!

This is my all time favorite fragrance. The sweet lavender, tobacco, hay and sandalwood blend so well together, I feel like I’m in a Mediterranean tobacco field surround by dry grass and sweet lavender. This is very close to the original 1994 D&G Pour Homme, it just doesn’t have the citrus opening. But good lord, on my skin, Intenso is absolutely AMAZING!

UNDERRATED i find it quite slept on compared to other D&G products, anyhow, amazing scent is captured with this one. fresh leathery woody scent, this scent needs some patience the opening is not that great but once it settles WOW. insanely unique scent the only complaint i have is just the performance. quite versatile scent as well.

It's a THUMBS UP from me. Intenso it's a good solid scent for the well dressed man. Some critics want more from Intenso because of the name but it's a affordable reliable scent to wear. Probably the most underestimated scent on market, it still smells modern and expensive with all those Italian notes and it's not at all outdated, and also its longevity is very good, about 6h on my skin, I bought another on discount 125ml bottle of it for only about 55 euros which is really a steal for this fragrance.

Smells like a fresh luxury bar of soap at a really high-end resort, but with a slightly unique and very appealing twist. First smell would give you basic fresh and mass-appealing vibes, but lavender and tobacco come into play shortly after to remind you of its individuality. Ultimately -- I do not regret my purchase.

A very nice spicy/herbal perfume. Performance is very good. The silage is particularly nice, sweet, spicy and unique. I think I can detect the hay note too. This has grown on me and I'm glad I bought this as a blind buy. *Update* This has REALLY grown on me - I love this and its uniqueness

For those times one wants to smell like expensive soap, Intenso is The One (pun intended). They knew what they were doing offering this in a huge cheap bottle like an eau de cologne. No worries if you load up on sprays with this one.

I want to hate the creamy, metrosexual nature of this. I want to write a bad review about how it smells like a single dad at the mall trying to hit on the young girls in the food court. I can't. Damn. This is really good.

Regular Pour Homme have more longevity than this. This one is edp and regular is edt. However great scent till it's gone to skin,which is max. two hours on my skin.I think label edp on box is just marketing trick.

This really is an amazing herbal/spicy perfume. So unusual with a well done "hay" note. There is nothing generic about this. Longevity and silage are excellent. One of the best I've bought in the last 10 years.

If buy it, try it, put it somewhere and after one month come back to it. Use it and let people notice its power, its not about your appreciation but others I just get compliments.....

A more modern take on a barbershop fougere. It's really easy to like for me. Smells like the blue Facconable, Dreamer by Versace, and homme ideal were mixed together. It's not mind blowing or breaking ground. To me it's a safe scent. It has that tonka bean smell of it's time. If this had citrus, particularly bitter orange it would have that Guerlain Ideal cherry almond tonka thing going on. didn't expect the hay or bran and I wasn't surprised to have to play make believe with vague similarities. There is a little something extra though so it's probably appropriate to add a little extra imagination to the note breakdown. I don't really like it and give it an 7/10. I don't remember or know what the og or the revamp smell like so my feelings aren't connected to this line to influence me. This was a blind buy at under $50 but I would still recommend sampling first unless you like The Dreamer with the lavender/tobacco then you will like this. I don't like that combo and lavender overall is tough to do right. I get good performance with nice projection for a few hours with 6 sprays, it's really strong at first with a noticeable trail. I've gotten by well with 3 sprays for a few hours, but for the longevity it takes a little more. If your having performance issues I would suggest trying to spray less or more. You're either overdoing it and going nose blind or you're not using enough. My overall take on this fragrance; Versace left the Dreamer behind. This is a better take on that profile. Barbershop/dryer sheets smell to me. I do get hints of a very nice tonka type accord. But that lavender tobacco dryer sheet smell will eventually hit and is cloying to me. I liked this more at first but after a few wears I'm not feeling this one. My brother likes it and it smells good on him so it's his now. These bottles are pretty nice and practical, having it dark looks really good. I already had the urge to get it just because the bottle looks good and it's been rack stored.

This is a strange but wonderful little fragrance. The fuzzy brown box with gold lettering is your first clue, that this isn't your average designer fragrance. It's definitely a fresh fragrance, but there is no citrus, which is already unusual. The initial hit is a ton of deeper floral notes, aquatics and green herbs, led by that unusual basil note. Then almost immediately after, I catch that tobacco, which is unlike any other tobacco note I've smelled before, but I'm pretty sure it's because of the "hay and bran" notes which I have never smelled in a fresh fragrance before. Then the sage and the woods kick in and it sweetens a little. So now I'm left with a fresh, herbal, aquatic, grainy (in a good way), mildly tobacco, slightly sweet woody scent. What?! With all of those strange and contrasting notes, this sounds like a mess. But it's not. I really, really like this fragrance a lot. It's not "love" yet, but if I keep wearing this throughout the summer and the fall it might be. . . At the price this is available, you gotta at least sample this. Decent projection and I get 6 hours. But it's easy to hit it with a couple of more sprays 4 hours in or so and extend it by a few more hours.

Sweet and fruity with a touch of anise. Opens with spicy green aldehydes. It's a little floral, a little grassy. Becomes very aromatic and fruity, then mildly aquatic. The base has sandalwood and a clean musk. Not much tobacco TBH? In all truth this reminds me most of "Creed - Silver Mountain" Water. Imagine a flatter SMW with a touch of anise and very faint wafts of tobacco. This feels unisex to me, maybe leaning slightly masculine? Would suit ages 25-60, all year but possibly best for spring? Works better in the day but would be fine at night. I found the performance to be ok. Where I sprayed it on my wrist it seemed to dissipate pretty quickly, but on the back of my arm was there for a good 8hrs, and was projecting well most of that time. I really like it but would try before you buy - always. (As others have said the bottle and design are very misleading. No matter what the note breakdown says, It isn't an overly dark, smoky fragrance, it's actually quite a "sparkly" aromatic scent.)

Ok this fragrance has definitely been reformulated during the time that it has been made in France. I got a sample of this and then went out and bought a full bottle. Both the sample and the bottle were made in France, but they smell noticeably different. I had multiple people who do not have a nose for fragrances smell these two and they all immediately said they could tell a difference. The full bottle that I have is a very recent batch and this one smells closer to the EdT. I also noticed that it lasts about as long as the EdT, maybe slightly longer. In the sample (which I assume is an older batch) the "Water Notes" are much more noticeable, and it has better longevity than the EdT and the newer versions of Intenso. I liked both versions of the Intenso, but I just wish these newer batches lasted longer.
