K by Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Parfum

Wow, what a charmer. I'll be honest: when I test-sprayed this on my testing surface (after blind-buying it, due to a great sale), I kind of thought I'd been had by a gimmicky bottle and internet hype again (looking at you, UltraRed). All I got from it was "Dylan Blue, slightly modernised" - so, I shrugged it off as a "safe summer smell," and then I tested a couple of other new arrivals. Somewhere along the way, the dry-down of K EDP was lost to the overpowering grapefruit of Light Blue Forever lingering in my nose, and I just stuck it up on the shelf, figuring I'd give it a go when it got a little warmer. This morning, however, I was unsure what to wear out of my new arrivals, so I passed the decision-making on to my best friend, who has a rare talent for making random selections from my collection that turn out to be exactly what I needed to be wearing that day. I sent her a pic of the new bottles, and she chose K - and, as per her M.O., she really hit it out of the park. On the first skin spray, I let it sit for a second, sniffed, and got back the same olfactory data as I had off my non-skin test. So, working with the mindset of "slightly softer and more modern Dylan Blue", I gave myself about 10 sprays and went about my business. 10 minutes passed. And suddenly I was getting a waft of something vaguely spicy in the air. I have these "guarana and chilli" nicotine pouches that I favour, so at first, I thought I'd left the tin for that open - but that was not the case. So, I opened the tin to see if I was somehow smelling it through the plastic... and as my hand was en route to my nose, I caught a whiff of my arm, and immediately followed it with a deeper one. K had evolved, opened up a bit, and in doing so, had become properly intriguing. Having now smelled my way through the whole scent evolution, I have to say, D&G really pulled off something special here. The opening is almost pure Dylan Blue, and that impression lingers over the top of it. Then, the fig and citrus come out to play, and it takes on a bit of an Acqua di Gio Profundo vibe, with a touch of green to it. And at about the 10-15 minute mark, the pimento settles in just under the blue top, and just above the cedar/vetiver/patchouli base, and WOW, does it ever work. Sweet blue/green citrus, over masculine florals and subtle heat, all atop a base of clean woods. The note breakdown looks illogical, but the end product is just fantastic. My only minor quibbles with it are (1) that the drydown on clothes smells a little soapy - but it. smells great on the skin, so that's fine - and (2) that it does cause one to go slightly anosmic to it - but that seems to be all the rage in perfumery these days, and if I put nose-to-skin, I can still smell it just fine - so it's barely an inconvenience. Tl;dr: It's an actually unique blue. If you see it for a good price, absolutely grab it. 9.7/10

Just revisiting this scent after having reviewed it from a decant almost 2 years ago. For the longest time I had this on my Wants list, then eventually removed it as was swayed by others that seemed to have a poor wearing experience with it. That’s despite loving it each time I wore it. I figured I must have been missing something!! Anyways the long and short of it, I decided to bite the bullet and get a full bottle and I’m so pleased I did. It really works wonderfully with my skin chemistry and isn’t by any stretch a dull or monolithic wear. While at its core is very much about the fig note that is actually quite milky and somewhat green, the other notes weave in and out as it drys down making it for me a really enjoyable and quite complex wearing experience from start to finish. I do have great wearing experiences with scents that incorporate pimento which adds a nice soft spicy warmth in this scent to enhance the depth and character of the fig during parts of the wear. And have also been finding that there is a phase as it moves into deeper dry down where the blood orange that in previous wears I didn’t much notice, rears its head and adds an almost a fruity phase. The aromatics are a main stay throughout the full life of the scent from the likes of juniper and herbs - and the patchouli, which is not overbearing but perfectly complimentary, adds a nice bit of backbone and longevity. So all in all it is a fig scent that has a nice refined air of quality and maturity about it, made complex by an array of very well balanced support notes and truely just a pleasure to wear. I can’t really add much more than that except to say that it’s nice having a fig scent that adds enough surrounding complexity via other supporting notes to make this more than just a green leaf, but instead a modern and versatile complex scent thats also easy and fun to wear. Entirely office friendly if you need that and also great value imo.

Ok. So last night when I used about 6 or 7 sprays of K edp for the first time I thought it smelled good, but nothing "special" or unique. It's got a bright citrus opening whith a sort of "Dryer sheet/shower gel" vibe which I did enjoy, but I sorta had buyer's remorse bc since I've collected over 60 fragrances, I have quite a few which resemble K edp's opening. I'd also felt that the performance was average to below average bc after a couple of hours, It seemed to become very close to skin and felt kinda faint (even on clothes). Fast forward to the followng morn (today), I put on the same shirt I had on last night for a quick errand, and my shirt smelled FREAKIN' AMAZING! So now I know one can easily go anosmic to this scent. Also, that dry down is freakin' FANTABULOUS! I just couldnt experience it last night bc I went anosmic to it. MAAAN, it's really, REALLY nice ya'll! The opening smells good and all, but the dry-down?.. this dry-down is truley where the majic lies! I find it unassumingly "Unique" and has this classy vibe which makes K edp quite versitle as far as occasions go. It's also decidedly "masculine" wo it smelling dated, or like a Fougere or a Chypre (which I also love). Again, the performance is much better than I first gave it credit for, but its still not a "fucboi" frag bc its NOT obnoxious at all. Actually, when I put that shirt on this morning and was so impressed, I did about 5 more sprays, and had to later change my shirt bc it was just a bit too much for that early in the a.m. Longevity 7.5/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Scent 9.5/10 Uniqueness 8/10 Value 7/10 One of my fave pick ups of 2024 with (Carolina Herrera's Birds of Paradise) being on top, and yet to be dethroned . Still, I'm SUUUPER excited about K edp now being in my collection. Thanks to whomever took the time to read my 2 cents on K edp😉

Another lovely "blue" frag added to my little collection! I sampled this a few months back and initially I said I wasn't going to buy it, zooming forward, I bought a new body wash (Cremo Palo Santo I think its called) and it immediately reminded me of this and made me want a bottle! Folks talk about the pimento note like its a bad thing! I LOVE IT. This stuff is just SO fresh and pleasant! Much different than the other blues in my collection, but still holding some of the same touches that make me think blue. I definitely pick up the fig nectar, the juniper berries, the blood orange, a little bit of pimento to spice it up a little bit, and a bit of the wood, but for what that is, it smells SO GOOD. Biggest concern is the longevity, initially after my sampling of it, I looked it up here and was sad because it has a pretty moderate rating, but the jacket I had gotten a little of the spray on, said different, my jacket genuinely had this on it, and could be smelled, for damn near 2 weeks, so I'm gunna say, this isn't a monster, but it definitely seems to be a bit of a beast, so I'm gunna say it has above average longevity, the sillage seems pretty moderate, but above average moderate. I really enjoy this stuff! A nice little all season any time of day freshie! Edit after a full work wearing: Very happy to say that as I sit down after a long work day, this stuff is still lofting up to me every now and again, and is still more than a skin scent. I applied a fair amount (I think 12 sprays knowing the sillage is a little lighter), and got some compliments on it, but more over, I applied it at around 3 pm, it is now midnight, 9 hours later, and this stuff is still going for me, so for that I am hugely grateful! I was very nervous to buy this due to the longevity.

Contrary to a few negative reviews I stumbled upon online, this scent has left me absolutely fascinated. The first encounter with this fragrance can be a bit deceptive. The initial spray, which evokes memories of Dylan Blue, paints an image of a 'play-it-safe' summer scent. But hold on... Give it about ten minutes on your skin, and the narrative changes entirely. The subtle spiciness emerges and mingles with the original blue impression, creating an intriguing and multi-faceted scent profile. The fig and citrus notes break through, injecting a lively freshness reminiscent of Acqua di Gio Profundo, but with a dash of green energy. The true magic happens around the 15-minute mark. Tremendously under-rated fragrance. The dry-down is quite beautiful and much more unique than its given credit for. It can be dressed up or down and has quite good performance. One of my fave fragrance buys from 2024 hands down (and I bought a whole lot). Very nice opening, but that dry-down? That dry-down makes this fragrance go from a 7.5 to a 9 outta 10 and is more than worth waiting for while you enjoy that great, vibrant/fresh opening! Its classified as a "Woody Spicey Fragrance" But its not all that woody or spicey imo. It's NOT a blue, not a gourmand, not an amber nor would I even call this a "freshie", but It is It's very own "unique" thing. Theres something in here that I LOVE which (slightly) reminds me of Banana Rrepublic's 78 Vintage Green and It must be the "Fig note"... AH-MA-ZING! I honestly feel that D&G deserves way more credit for NOT following trends and creating an intirely new, unique dna. K edp is an excellent, modern/masculine scent and a real love for me! Absolutely recommended and an EASY 9 outta 10 for me.! Thanks to whomever took the time to read my review!🫠 -------------------edit----------------------- Wow! Just picked up Le Labo's Santal 33 and K edp and Santal 33 have some real similarities in the far dry-down! Definately not extremely similar, but the there are some comparable nuances fo sho! Pretyy shocked since Le Labo is so dang expensive (Over priced imo) I actually enjoy K edp even more!

wearing this today and DAAAMN ! It smells SO beautiful. That blood orange with the pimento and spice is so unique and masculine. Smells absolutely amazing !! Lasts easily 12 hours hours and projects! I sprayed this on at 8 am and 6 hours later i am still getting a beautiful sillage and projection. In my collection of 40 bottles nothing performs like this other than MFK Grand Soir and that goes for $240 for a 2.4 oz!!! This,to me, is a triple threat. 1. Beautiful and unique scent 2. Sillage AND Projection ( most frags dont do both well ) the entire way through 3. Lasts 10-12 where I can smell it without it being a skin scent and needing to carry an atomizer to "refresh" at lunch. When you consider the cost .......THIS IS A 10/10 IMO I'm going to keep it real for anyone thinking to blind buy this. The reason this doesn't have a better Fragratica score is because the age of the users of the site are younger and used to the current ubiquitous sweet vanilla scents, which I do enjoy, but they don't have exposure to the more robust and masculine scents of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. When you could smell a person who was on the elevator before you. When women would pass you on the street and leave a thick trail of fragrance in the air. When men wore scents that were extremely masculine. Before we had such a thing as a unisex fragrance. You know......before the peanut allergy generation.

I take no notice of gender when it comes to fragrance, and for myself I love supposedly masculine woody/tobacco/leather/rum scents. I received a sample of this and automatically I thought of my younger son so bought an edp set for him. It's perfect for the non-typical, caring yet still masculine young man he is. His peers all wear the same fragrances so I try to find some that compliment his personality yet are still famous houses, so he can stand out whilst fitting in. We all know the pressures of youth. He can spray this upstairs and it filters down, without ever seeming overpowering. It's one of the most beautiful male fragrances to me, and the usual aromatic woody you see on so many Fragrantica main accords descriptions doesn't do it any justice. I pick up on the lavender and sage, which are tempered by the pimento and base notes to create a distinctive and quite refined scent for a younger man. I know he's not like the other blokes when he goes out, and I hope this conveys that to the young women on the prowl, so they know my boy is more intelligent and interesting. If I met someone my age wearing this it would put me off, as I feel it's not for older men at all, but I hope I'm helping my son make the right impression.

First this does not remind me of a shower gel, or actually any other cologne. It is its own thing. It has a lot of fragrance notes and they work together well. This is not a sweet syrupy fragrance, opens with a blast of citrus and spice as it dries down through the mid more florals are present and the fig starts making it creamier, but there is still that green in the background. Finally as we hit the base it remains creamy but some nice woodenness is there. In conclusion, this is a solid release and it is a designer so as most there will be more synthetic oils, but this is true with most designers. I get about 8 hours of performance with about a 3 foot sillage for and hour or so. But you still are noticeable in closer encounters, like 1 foot for the remaining time. Also very versatile could be worn most places any time of the year! The only one that comes near this to me is Banana Republic Vintage green, they are not the same just a little similar. For me this gets a solid 8 for me.

People hated on this fragrance and the K line in general. And for what? It’s good stuff. I own over 100 fragrances at all different price points. The hate is snobbish/people who associate its price tag to its value and not the scent itself. There’s a big difference between “it’s terrible” and “it’s not for me”. This fragrance is unique in terms of blue freshie because it has a Mediterranean twist. It’s not going to shock you in anyway. Let’s be real, blue fragrances never deliver anything worthy of reinventing the wheel. They just smell good. That goes from most expensive to least expensive and everything in between. I picked up 100ml of this stuff for $47. It lasts darn near all day and performs well. That’s absolute value for money that Bleu De Chanel, Sauvage, and Roja Elysium Noir could never provide given their price tag. And I enjoy all of those. Don’t sleep on K. Or do... I don’t care.

I have been wearing this fragrance since it was launched and I haven't stopped wearing it since. Citrus 🍊🍋, fresh, fig fragrance with some spice and woods is the best way I can describe this. I also have the EDT which is also a great one and somewhat brighter and louder than the EDP but to my nose I love them both and I'm happy that the k line isn't well liked by the masses. Good year round fragrance but I reach more for the EDT in the summer months and the EDP is great for spring, winter and fall and summer evenings. Great longevity and sillage on skin and clothing which I get all day performance from both the EDP and the EDT 12+ hours and on clothes I smell it the next day easy. Both are a 10 for me and I already re purchased the EDT after finishing one bottle and I will replace the EDP once I'm finished with it as well.

I do not understand all the hate on this fragrance, I think its a solid pick! I got mine at a huge discount locally at a store that purchases lost luggage called Unclaimed Baggage and I only paid like $26 for it but even if I paid full price I think I would feel the same. I applied it to my wrist to keep from going nose blind to check longevity and projection, I easily got 7 hours on this and kept getting whiffs of it throughout the day. One thing I notice is when people spray a lot on their neck, they can go nose blind to a fragrance rather quickly so they think it does not preform well. I think this is a solid warm weather cologne, I do not pick up on the dill others are talking about, I find the smell clean and unique and I think it will be in my warm weather rotation for a long time to come.

Very nice smell. Sweeter than other blue frags. Even though its not listed i feel a coconut vibe similar to Le Beau Le Parfum and Invictus Victory Elixir, but a bit weaker. This is not a fresh fragrance, but the coconut makes it wearable on summer. I cant put my finger on what the sweet note is exactly but it is also similar to CK Defy EDP. If you are looking for that note get Defy, it is cheaper. I really like it but it is redundant if you own either of those mentioned above, and those 2 are better, so i find no reason to buy this one despite being a great fragrance. Unless you really like coconut note and like all different variations of the smell, i suggest going for Invictus Victory Elixir and in second place Le Beau.

I own YSL Babycat Raw Bourbon, Creed Aventus, Memo African Leather, PDM Layton and Pegasus, and Xerjoff Erba Pura, any one of these is probably someone's signature scent, but somehow, K is still the one for me. It's been about a year, but I still love it as much as the day I bought it. So the opening is definitely lemony fig with a definite blue scent we can see in Chanel Bleu de Chanel or Versace Dylan Blue. As it dries down, the blue scent becomes very heavenly with the fig notes. Not to mention, the cap is definitely a selling point with the whole crown shebang. If there's one thing I would like, is for this to last longer than 6 hours, that's with best practice mind you. All in all, I'll always have a bottle at hand.

Lastly, as compared to its earlier flanker EDT, it's much sweeter, juicer, richer, warmer, & more unique; while the EDT is brighter and fresher.

Where do I even start with Dolce & Gabbana K EDP... To be completely honest, I had prejudices against it even before trying it - I expected just another Y-type generic blue scent. I was so wrong... This is a beautiful blend of blood orange, fig, and aromatics. It opens with a vibrant mix of blood orange, lemon, and fig, but what truly won me over is the drydown - so smooth, sensual, and elegant. It’s so addictive. To me, this feels like the ultimate summertime date-night fragrance. If you’re looking for a summer signature but want a break from the usual marine/aquatic style, this is it. It’s also worth mentioning that I rarely write reviews, but this one genuinely left a strong impression on me.

This is a hot cologne (ironically, it is a "blue" cologne with a twist)-- it needs to be warm out for the cologne to really shine and be appreciated. It is definitely (in my opinion!) meant to be worn by somebody in their mid 20's to early 30's and requires a refined nose to really appreciate it for what it is. Its scent is meant to reflect the way a person carries himself-- one that knows what he wants in the world through his own means or in the words of DG: "A fragrance dedicated to the spirit of a man who chooses his own destiny with passion and confidence". Initial impressions may turn people off from this fragrance. The more one smells it, the more it will grow on you.

I don't understand the sub 4.0 rating for this either. I love fig and date frags anyway, and this is a pleasant fig scent. To my nose, it's the fig note that makes this fragrance unique. I don't see much attribution to that in the reviews here. Update: wearing this again today, two months later, and I still do not understand the dislike of this fragrance. Someone said "utterly generic. Yawn." Lol. With a world filled with Sauvages and the like, and THIS one, with the fig and pimento note, is generic? Still don't understand the reactions to it. Also, the opinion that this smells similar to Davidoff Cool Water is funny. Really funny.

This is an absolute banger! You can get it for a pretty decent price now that it has been out for a while and it is fantastic for what you get. I love the EDT and will still wear it as this one can be a little strong in high heat. Sometimes you just need the light freshness of the EDT. With that being said, I like the EDP more. It is certainly an improvement over the EDT in all categories. It smells better—more rich and elegant, it performs longer, it projects more, and it can be worn in more situations. I’ve read a lot of the reviews and I don’t think it deserves any of the hate it gets. It’s a fantastic fragrance!

This is D&G's answer to Dior Homme Parfum. It's powdery, classy, woody, Bergamot, leafy scent. No Iris or that typical makeup note but it's in the same category of Dior Homme Parfum. It's also reminding me of Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noire Parfum 2025. The fig leaf is a bit mild unlike Maubson's Fig leaf bottle (I forgot its name) It's not unusual but it will stand out. Do not get mislead with the blue bottle. It's not a blue fragrance.. it's good enough for date night, early fall or spring even summer when it's not too hot. Longevity is great . I get close to 8 or 9 hours.
