Light Blue Eau de Toilette

One of my go-to summer saviors. Despite being a very old and well-known fragrance, I still enjoy wearing it. The EDT version feels softer and smoother combined with the juicy, energetic character of apple, the scent becomes slightly sweeter. It evokes the feeling of sipping a refreshing apple-lemon drink at a seaside restaurant in Italy, surrounded by lemon trees on a hot summer day. It’s as if the energy and joy of summer have been bottled. I use it only on very hot summer days; at other times, it feels a bit too surface-level and simple to me. Being an EDT, both longevity and projection are quite weak. However, in oppressive heat I don’t enjoy wearing intense fragrances anyway, so on days when I don’t want to take risks, it’s an extremely comfortable choice. For experienced noses who prefer deep, layered compositions, it may come across as weak and ordinary. Still, it’s a very safe and reassuring scent. For those who want something easy to reach for in their wardrobe for everyday wear, it works perfectly well. The price may be slightly high for the performance, though.

A more grown-up, refined, and sophisticated take on the OG. Whereas the OG opened with a rather sharp freshness and settled into a musky base, this new version feels much smoother from the start. The opening is more restrained and balanced, while the dry-down leans sweeter and more floral, giving it a more elegant character overall. Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed any improvement in projection or longevity compared to the original. Performance remains pretty poor in my experience. That aside, this is a genuinely beautiful reinterpretation and one that pleasantly surprised me, especially considering the rather underwhelming flankers released in recent years. If you’re thinking about restocking the OG or miss the Intense version, I’d recommend giving this one a try. It feels like a blend of the two or as others have described it: somewhere in between. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the Intense version, it is, in my opinion, a clear step up from the original EDT.

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose, because I’ve never sampled the original Light Blue and lots of commenters are saying it’s better. To me, this is a gorgeous summer frag. After a short-lived citrus blast, the green apple comes through really strongly. I’d even say the apple note dominates, and then it dries down into this musky, refreshing, slightly sharp base. I don’t get anything in the way of rose; in fact, to my nose, it’s very light on the florals. A quite soapy vibe overall as well. It’s absolutely perfect for the office because it doesn’t scream at anyone, though I wish it lasted a bit longer. And it’s very much unisex IMO. Keep an open mind and give it a try!

The top notes are very fresh and citrusy which I'm a big fan of. It smells very clean and cool, like cold water with a generous lemon squeeze. As it dries down it is definitely lighter and a little more floral with a slight hint of musk. Overall I really like it. The only thing is it's not very strong, so I might have to reapply every few hours if I want it to last. The Price isn't too high, you can get a full sized bottle for $40-$60, and even the large bottle (6.7oz) for a reasonable price. I might buy a full size bottle soon if I feel like a splurge.

I ended up with the new formulation by accident when I was trying to buy the old one from a discount retailer and they sent me this one. The citrus in opening is a lot sweeter than the old formula which annoyed me because I liked the tart sharper citrus of the old formula. Luckily the drydown is pretty much the same but with the musk and cedar dialed up. It also lasts longer which is nice. I might still pick up an old bottle if I can find it discounted at Marshall's or somewhere.

So fresh and delightful! I have gone through too many bottles and is one of my two top summer perfumes (NR Pure Musc is the other one). I went to a grill house on a super hot summer day and a lady from the staff told me that I smelled so clean and fresh, although I had been wearing it for a few hours already. My 9 year old daughter loves it (she is a fun of lemon scents) and pretends she’s stealing it to use it. This is never leaving my collection.

Fantastic, somewhere between the original Light Blue EDT and Light Blue Eau Intense, and I love it. I’m very happy with the new reformulation. DG is the first designer house that actually heard and listened to its customers.

Es un perfume perfecto para mujer, pero igualmente adecuado para hombre. Es bastante intenso, con una nota de limón muy pronunciada y toques dulces secundarios. Detecto aromas naturales como manzana, bambú, rosa y jazmín. No lo encuentro similar a ningún otro perfume. Es perfecto para destacar e ideal para ocasiones formales. Sin embargo, como mencioné antes, ten cuidado si quieres pasar desapercibido, ya que el aroma y su estela se perciben a varios metros de distancia. Si te gustan las fragancias fuertes, que te hagan sentir serio y no te gusta pasar desapercibido, o te gusta una nota de limón intensa, este es perfecto para ti. En mi opinión, es muy intenso, lo suficientemente intenso como para marearte un poco si estás muy cerca (unas 4 o 5 pulverizaciones son suficientes). Es inadecuado para interiores cerrados a mi parecer (como cuando voy a la escuela) pero podría ser bueno para oficinas y otros lugares, dependiendo de la persona aunque tambies si sabes como aplicartelo podria ser perfecto para llamar la atencion y no marear a la gente de tu alrededor. 7/10

Yeah it’s lovely. I’m mad for bamboo because it reminds me of my sig scent (Omnia crystalline) and bluebell is one of my fave notes ever. But, I am not paying for perfumes that don’t last anymore, not when Arabian perfumes exist. So disappointed with staying power. I have EDTs that at least make two hours. This makes 30 mins max.

A very nice, clean scent, fairly sophisticated within this genre but a little generic. A unisex fragrance - not too feminine. Not very strong sillage.

Have a formulation from ~2017. Amazing for summer. if I'm in the wrong mood it smells like detergent.

If this perfume would be a song, it would be elevator music. And not the good kind, the one that was made with cheap AI generator. The price tag doesn't match either, i would't pay that much money to smell like window cleaning solution and stale grandma church outfit that is washed once a month.

I love the original. It is citrus, but it has that special something. It's an EDT, but it lasts pretty well. It's a classic for a reason. This was just straight up lemon upon application. That lasted for a few minutes, and then rather quickly settled down. A bit too much. In an hour, I could barely sense its notes when I put my nose up to my skin. Since it was touted as "Light Blue, but stronger and longer lasting"... Stronger, yeah? But without the original's nuance that made it special. Longer lasting? No. I really do hope this isn't meant to replace the original completely.

The original formulation was nice--an agreeable citrus (wasn't my favorite back in the day), really nice cedar (best part of this!), lightly floral, fresh and lasted a long time. Inoffensive and easy to wear. This new version is similar to the original and so unobtrusive it disappears in 2 hours. Maybe the weather, but this was reading little more floral than I remember. Much softer than the original formula.

Starts out with a burst of lemon but dries down into a sickly grandma floral. Reminds me of aventus for her in a bad way

This smelled so incredibly horrible on me. I can't even describe. This does not mix with my skin. My mother used to wear this long ago when I was younger, and I wanted to have that scent but does it ever smell horrid on my skin. I have never smelled anything that actually turns into a weird metal/garbage/chemical type smell. I would recommend no one blind buy this under any circumstance!!

I am a male writing this review. I really didn't want to write this review as this scent brings back trauma of an ex girlfriend whining about bs all the time. I will say she had a sample of this and wore it a lot. It smelled really good on her and I even complimented it. Now every time I smell it it just brings back trauma. :( good scent bad association I wanna kms when I smell it.

As a longtime fan of the original Light Blue, I was curious—and a bit skeptical—about this 2025 version. The original is such a classic: crisp, lemony, and effortlessly fresh. But Light Blue 2025 surprised me in the best way. It's still recognizable as part of the Light Blue family, but with a softer, sweeter twist that gives it a whole new personality. Right from the first spray, there's a hint of citrus, but it fades quickly and makes room for a delicate raspberry sweetness. It’s not overly sugary or artificial—more like a juicy, slightly tart raspberry sorbet. That fruitiness adds a flirty, feminine touch that sets this apart from the sharper, more zesty original. The heart is gentle and lightly floral, wrapped in soft musk that lingers beautifully on the skin. Where the original Light Blue tends to fade within a few hours, this one has noticeably better longevity. I could still catch gentle whiffs on my clothes and wrists hours later. Overall, Light Blue 2025 is like the “cuter cousin” of the original. Less sporty, more cozy. It’s perfect for spring and summer days when you want to feel light and sweet, without being too bold or heavy. This version leans more romantic than breezy—think sunset picnics rather than a day at the beach. If you loved the DNA of Light Blue but wanted something a bit more playful and lasting, this flanker is worth trying.

I bought the 200 ml bottle from a discounter to give to my mom for Christmas, and when it arrived I realized it was the new refillable version. I haven’t been able to give it to her yet because it arrived well after Christmas and she lives a bit far away, so now I’m just hoping she still likes this reformulation. This has been her favorite fragrance for years, which honestly makes me pretty nervous. I really wish companies would stop messing with fragrances that already work. If it ain’t broken, why are we fixing it? Based on these comments, the change does not sound like an upgrade. I didn’t notice the formula had been changed until I saw it mentioned under new fragrances on here, which had me so confused. I just assumed the refillable bottle was a new eco option like other companies are doing, which feels pretty redundant considering you still have to buy a big ass PLASTIC bottle to refill your glass perfume bottle. I know I’m not alone when I say I’m so fucking sick of reformulations. Light Blue has remained a classic for a reason. 😔

I just tried this new formulation of the EDT today, and it does smell like Light Blue, BUT there are some differences. One particular difference I noticed was that it does last longer than the EDT I had in the past (which only lasted like 15 min...it was a joke). I am assuming this one is better with longevity because they put more musk in this iteration. On initial spray and into the mid, it is pretty obvious this one is more heavy on the musk, (almost leaning more masculine than I remember) There is a pungent alcohol vibe for quite a while that tickles my nose and makes it hard to take a deep breath in when i'm smelling this. As it dries down that musk does soften and it smells more like what I remember. The lemon is less fresh here and more dense/ sour to the nose at least first. I appreciate that this will last longer, but not sure I love the noticeable differences I was able to pick up on. It still smells really great and very unisex. This will probably last very long on clothes.

I was so excited when I saw this in Ulta! The new bottle feels so nice to hold and the atomizer definitely got an upgrade---the mist is a lot finer and you can press it down for however long you want to spray the amount of perfume you want (I'm sure there's a name for that kind of nozzle lol). As for the smell, to me it smells identical to the original but stronger and more linear. The original behaved in a way where the lemon and green apple wouldn't last as long as the cedar. With this one, I notice that sweet lemon and tart apple further into the dry-down. Overall, there really isn't any one note that sticks out to me. It smells identical but more refined compared to the original. The price is crazy... Hopefully it lands on 3rd party discount websites like its predecessor.

I have the version from 2011 or so but wore it so infrequently, so now it's lasted to today. The version I have is incredible. The "eau de toilette" is misleading, mine lasts easily 6-10 hours. Moderate fruity/citrus opening, but with a mature, clean dry down that works well not just for younger women, but older ones in their 30s-40s as well. The dry down still remains strong enough to last the day, inoffensive for work, and other occasions where you don't need it to project to the entire room but still want to smell "fresh". Been wearing this since high school. Haven't tried the newer ones, which were reformulated a few times since 2011.

One of my all time favorites 🍋 I love the new bottle (much needed change) it feels amazing and the new sprayer is great. In terms of the scent to me is almost the same, stronger with the sweet citrus last a bit longer than in its predecessor. Honestly you cannot tell any difference once apply unless you compare it wrist to wrist. Now, I cannot wait till they relaunch the “Eau Intense” version as in Spain you cannot longer find it!

I was wearing this a full week before I realised it was the women's version. I was gifted it at Christmas just gone and not having smelled Light Blue (for men) in about ten years, I'd assumed it had changed bottles, but liked the smell better than I remembered from all those years ago. I'll keep wearing it. It doesn't feel girly at all to me, I quite like that green apple-woody freshness. Could easily have been marketed to men.

I regularly wear and have owned the original since 2006. Love it! I tried this in store and felt like it has less of a lemon and apple note. Somehow seems less powerful as well. It’s not the same but they’re very similar. I prefer more of that fresh squeeze of lemon scent that the original has. Made sure to grab a large bottle of the original before the resale value goes up or they disappear all together.

I heard from a fragrance expert that apart from the new bottle they have changed the perfume to make it last better, but it's supposed to smell the same. I've had Light Blue for 20 years so I'm interested in smelling the new one and see if there's a noticable difference.

Freshly sliced lemon, maybe a limoncello on the Venice canals. Beautiful, absolute must have 9/10 Also have to add, almost every light blue flanker is good and dont stray too far from each other o don't stress about what flanker you pick up.

The lady in the store was super confident trying to convince me that it’s just the same as the old one. Don’t get me wrong they are very similar, but I thought it was a bit sweeter than usual, glad to see I’m not the only one!

Different cap (looks way better!) same exact scent. Love it so much. Reminds me of the Spanish summer in my hometown. 🩵
