Light Blue Forever pour Homme

While not being a huge fan of the Light Blue line, I've been obsessed with this flanker ever since it appeared on store shelves, and I'm just glad I got myself a bottle before they discontinued it. When I tried this for the first time this was so uniquely fresh and original and still is! With the initial spray you're getting a blast of a grapefruit that you've never smelt before. Citrus bitterness that is so absurdly ultra-realistic for perfumery that it almost feels like a fragrance from far future. Grapefruit is at the same time the most difficult and the easiest citrus for a perfumer. You can't put grapefruit oil in a formula and expect it to smell nice, realistic and long-lasting because of its chemical nature. The oil degrades quite fast, and steam distillation simply cannot capture many nuances. You'll have greater success smelling like grapefruit by just rubbing the peel on your skin. Then why is it the easiest note? Well, we've long had access to different aroma-molecules that smell quite convincingly of grapefruit, and we've been lucky enough to have vetiver, which has grapefruity nuances and provides a fresh-woody scent that lasts for ages in the base. No other citrus oil can be extended as much as grapefruit. Before looking at the Light Blue Forever GC/MS analysis, I was ready to expect anything – captive molecules and even unknown citrus bases. But when I analyzed it, I was simply stunned by the mastery of Shyamala Maisondieu. I didn't stumble across some over-complicated accord or captives, there’s even no Methyl Pamplemousse. All this time it was grapefruit oil (probably white one), vetiver, Magnolan and a touch of Rhubofix. But most importantly, its unique freshness is built upon ingredients that I myself would never consider using for a grapefruit fragrance. I already knew that the ozonic note probably comes from Floralozone and the violet leaf nuance from Undecavertol, but I wasn't ready to see such an amount of Aldehyde C12 MNA and Rose Oxide. Suddenly everything fell into place. The latter molecule is actually a clever decision to boost the sharp freshness of grapefruit alongside Rhubofix. And I'd assume that C12 MNA slightly moderates the aggressiveness of Floralozone and its chlorine nuance. There's one thing I still don't understand – why did they discontinue it? There's no prohibited lily-of-the-valley molecules as far as I know and why would there be? The fragrance was launched long after IFRA bans. The formula isn't expensive at all, there's only 3% Ambroxan and 2% vetiver. The only logical explanation would be that it didn't sell very well. In that case, I guess most people are really just more interested in an inferior creations by Alberto Morillas than in a truly original composition. Light Blue Forever deserves its place in the niche world. Bravo, Shyamala Maisondieu.

I like this juice, but I don't think I understand it. I bought it impulsively at the airport duty free (sometimes you can really find good deals there, even better than discounters!) based on spraying it on the tester strip and a spritz on my forearm - I loved the strong, zesty, bitter grapefruit opening too much to pass on it; it's almost salty, it sparkles on your skin. But... that's all. That's all the scent for me. Just grapefruit, a photorealistic, unsweetened, tangy grapefruit lasting 3 hours on my skin, on a good day. I'm digging it, I like it a lot, at some point, 20 mins on maybe, I get some sweeter musks coming up. It is somehow elegant despite the strenght of the grapefruit accord in the opening. I don't get any vetiver and I can barely detect violet leaf or something green after half an hour, and for me the scent dies still on its (now sweetened) grapefruit note it opened with, and I'm happy it does instead of going into another synthetic woody base that smells like nothing and everything at the same time. This scent is a summer on a boat, spent most of the time swimming in the sea; it's a Sicilian warm summer night refreshed by salty sea breeze. It's an elegant seaside dinner date, fresh seafood, tanned skin, light coloured garments. The jingling of glasses while toasting with some mineral, aromatic white wine. Lovely teal bottle colour with matching cap, with details in gold. Not tacky, quite understated for being a D&G. Batch code 1075DM from March 2021. Strong love. If it's worth the price, you must decide it yourself. For me it is still one of the best summer scents of the last few years. If only it lasted a few more hours... Due update: I wore this beauty yesterday in mildly warm weather with average humidity, and it lasted from 9-ish till around 3.30pm when I could still get sniffs of it while walking. That around 6.30 hour, so it might be very sensitive to temperature/humidity, at least on my skin. That, or my nose finally started working again :D

Top Tier Masculine Ultra Summer Designer B.O. ...if you recoiled at that, then Forever is not what you're looking for. Some would say it's pungent, I'd say it's assertive. Forever smells like summer...in the 80s...if you had a muscle car and were constantly handing out tickets to the gun show in your sleeveless tees. It's a confident scent and won't please everyone who tries it out. A lot of summer scents are breezy, chill and aquatic with sweet citrus notes. Forever is heavy, green and dirty with a grapefruit citrus bomb chugging out of its tail pipe. But because it's Dolce & Gabbana, a designer fragrance, it errs on the side of sexy and approachable. This isn't a wild niche fragrance adventure, it's simply a bold, masculine designer scent made in the 2020s. The kind of novelty that gets me excited for where this decade could go. My summer scent of 2022 and I'm already nostalgic every time I take a quick whiff. Can't wait til the temperatures rise and this lad comes off the shelf. Have several new frags I'm getting for summer 2023, but this dirty grapefruit wonder is still the scent I'm most excited for. From a dark-horse to one of my favorite scents of all time. BOTTOM LINE: Confident, masculine green grapefruit and musk combo. Can be worn from young-to-old, but your individual confidence is key. The scent is both bold and strong, yet pleasant and sexy. Comes alive in very hot temperatures. An instant (and early) designer classic of the 2020s...though it'll probably end up as more of a cult classic.

I went to buy the Mrs a fragrance for Christmas at a fancy department store and wandered around looking for any bargains for me. Nada. Just about to pay and I thought to check the D & G counter. They had a tester for LB Forever Pour Homme!!! I couldn't believe it. I'd read a lot of good things about this fragrance but it was out of stock everywhere I checked. I couldn't even try it out to see if it was as good as so many made it out to be. I grabbed a paper strip and sprayed...My soul was transported to a world of grapefruit - the sun is pink, shaped like a grapefruit and the grass meadows smell of grapefruit. Grapefruit is my favourite citrus so even though I knew that the grapefruit opening would eventually pass, the logical part of my brain shut down and the squirrel part took over. "Mine"!!! And then the Sun went down on my grapefruit dream. They had no bottles in stock. I was so desperate that I offered to buy the tester. The staff refused saying it wasn't possible. I got the supervisor's number and sent a message asking to buy the tester. Again not possible but a subsequent check with the supplier revealed ONE bottle of grapefruit heaven left in store. I jumped at it. If you like/love grapefruit then this is your scent. Smells beautiful drying down to sweetened musk and performs better in warmer conditions. I'm looking forward to the summer to properly rock this.

This was my first blind buy, in fact, my first ever perfume I've bought, and I'm glad that I went through multiple reviews before getting a full bottle of this (glad that it's a 2021 flanker and I still manage to get one from an online seller!). I love citrus and have been finding something that delivers that kind of punchiness you get from a citrus fruit. This is very, very nice. I loved the sample of Fresh Hesperides Grapefruit (so realistic!) but wanted something that lasted longer, and (after looking into a Reddit recommendation) Light Blue Forever delivered it. In fact, this has even more complexity in a good way, injecting a muskiness that turned the grapefruit scent into something zestier and with more harmonious layers. However, if you dislike citrus bitterness, you may not like it as much. The top notes may go away in less than an hour, but the lingering musk is lovely and goes on for about a few hours until it turns into a skin scent. My mom loved it when she had a whiff after I decanted some of the perfume into a travel bottle.

I purchased this yesterday, having tried it on my skin the day before. As soon as I sprayed it on my hand, I was instantly taken aback by the ever so present grapefruit. "I love grapefruit, so this is the perfect summer scent." I said to my girlfriend, who hates grapefruit. Long story short, I ended up buying it behind her back. Today, I tried it on before I went to the gym. The performance on my skin is great for a summer freshie. If you live in a tropical or Mediterranean area, this will be great. It pushes out more in the heat. 10 hours longevity on my skin. I can still smell it The opening is a loud grapefruit, but then it evolves into what smells like a Frangipani flower (Plumeria). Sophisticated, lush, rich and floral. Not entirely sure how I feel about the dry down. Sure, it's pleasant, but not so masculine. Will take a self assured, confident guy to wear this. Longevity -9 Sillage-6/7 Scent-10 Tip: Pair this with LB eau intense for a more sophisticated masculine profile. This should make a good layering fragrance, too.

Early in my fragrance journey I bought a 5ml decant and my personal fragrantica notes included "I smell tea leaves." Tea isn't listed in the fragrance notes, but I still smell tea with a very juicy grapefruit on the open. The dry down brings in a peppery nuance with a clean white musk. I've since rediscovered this scent in my decant collection and upgraded my score from a 4 to a 5. Today I bought an overpriced 100ml bottle on eBay and this is what I plan to wear on summer days as a scent that just makes me feel happy and clean. Nothing special, but it is special to me. A little under-performing with the weak spritz-decant atomizer I currently have, but I'm looking forward to over-spraying this once my 100ml purchase arrives. I have TDH Eau-Givree but I don't wear it anymore, It just doesn't satisfy me the way Forever does. [EDIT] I’ve used 20-30x sprays wearing it 3x and Im shaking this bottle trying to accelerate maceration. Please get stronger !

This espouses a handsome, hairy-chested man with a thin film of sweat coating his body, serving you a bowl of freshly cut grapefruits; he included the rinds for garnish in your favorite beverage. If you dig this vibe, you will dig this fragrance. The opening is a splendid realistic grapefruit-juice mist that dries down into a masculine-leaning, citrusy musk. This lasts for about 5 hours on my skin: 2 sprays on neck and wrist work good for me. You could wear this at the office, but only do so if it's Hawaiian shirt day and you are going for tiki drinks afterwards. You can absolutely wear this to a beach party, day or night, as long as it's hot. It would be strange to smell this on someone in the cold. Reasonable pricing, you can score 100 ML for $60 USD if you keep an eye out. Niche snobs would love this, especially you freaks into your fecal body-odor ouds or whatever.

Both this and Italian Love are worth every penny. Interesting how many people comment on these two fragrances virtually every time I wear them. I can see some saying 'redundant', and honestly if you are on a budget that makes sense. As a collector, or someone who really enjoys this style fresh citrus grapefruit-centric DNA, and you can find these at reasonable prices, why not have both? They do the same thing, but go about it in a different manner. Forever is a punchy grapefruit overload, but probably the best I've experienced. I find this to be much more wearable than anything TDH. And I also really like Perseus, which is well done, but I think it is severely overpriced because of the house it comes from. Bottom line, if you like this DNA, and you see these pop up on a discounter, it is worth it. Both this and Italian Love have been discontinued. Shame, really.

I originally purchased this upon release a few years ago. I was a tour guide for Disney, young, the summers were hot in California and this was the background music to some of the best days of my life. I recently repurchased a sealed box of this via eBay, and can’t speak enough to how fantastic this is. I collect mostly niche, but this is as high quality as designer can be. Supremely tart, sweet, natural, musky. The photorealistic grapefruit with the Java vetiver oil is so damn good. A complete crime this is discontinued, and I’m bummed I’ll struggle to find another bottle of this as time goes on. I will probably have to purchase a backup bottle very soon. If you’re reading this and somehow haven’t smelled this, get your nose on it. So natural, tart, and full. I pair this with molecule 01 or another 13 from le labo and it’s just outstanding.

I’m just now getting around to sampling this. I was going to order it along time ago but was turned off that there was grapefruit in it. I can’t stand eating grapefruit so I figured I would hate it. Well I was wrong. While grapefruit is the strongest note by far, I actually really like the scent. And what a strong scent it is. I sprayed one spray and later took a shower and was still catching whiffs of it off my skin afterwards. Later I sprayed one spray before bed and eight hours later I’m still smelling it. So the quality is definitely there. So don’t be turned off if you don’t like grapefruit, it is actually a really nice citrusy scent. It’s winter now but I will definitely be wearing this come summertime. Too bad this seems to be discontinued? But at least some places still have it. 8/10 - very nice, strong 💪 , summertime fragrance

Yes, the grapefruit does smell very realistic. It's fresh and citrusy but the citruses dry down pretty quickly to a skin scent., but it smells nice and masculine. Performance is meh and same with sillage. I think it would be worth the money if you could get it at like 30 bucks, otherwise there are better alternatives. It gets a "like" from me just because of the realistic grapefruit note, and because the scent itself is pleasant. This is definitely a summer scent and I imagine it working well in very very high heat. EDIT: I have changed my mind on this. With time this has for sure grown on me. The grapefruit note is actually spectacular and the dry down also. The java vetiver oil really shines through after some time, and it’s just beautiful. This is totally signature-scent worthy. This is totally a ”Love”.

Really grew to love this scent over the summer. Everyone loves to talk about how it's a one note show of grapefruit but I think there is so much more to this scent. It does heavily lean into the grapefruit for the first while but it eventually blends with the other notes and becomes more woody and musky with the grapefruit. The dry down is my favorite part it just smells like summer and good times. I personally don't get crazy about summer scents it's usually pretty cold where I live, so when I find something like this it feels pretty special to me. Very bummed it's been discontinued because of all the summer scents I own this becoming one of my favorites to wear. Longevity and projection are pretty good for me, I've gotten compliments from friends smelling it in the breeze multiple hours after applying

One of my all time favorites. Light blue forever begins harsh and chemically from the first spray - but be patient. After a couple minutes a beautiful hyper realistic grapefruit scent begins to emerge. It is then gracefully embraced by a fresh spicy note, and a little herbiness. In the last few hours of its life it takes on a petrichor - like quality. The grapefruit stands tall in this fragrance, making it smell sophisticated and expensive. I've had mixed reviews on this fragrance, some people absolutley love it and stop me to ask me what im wearing, while others say it has an "old man" quality to it. Unfortunatley it doesn't last long, although this can always be remedied with spraying on clothes instead of skin. However, I much prefer the way it smells on skin and it is definitley worth a respray.

I'm in love with this one. Juicy, sour, realistic grapefruit. Vetiver and violet leaf boost performance and give it a slight masculine-lean. It becomes more airy with the ozonic notes as it dries down, but that grapefruit stays front and center. Forever is so bright and uplifting; it feels like a sunny, carefree day. Adequate projection and longevity, particularly in the heat and humidity. After some time, it settles down and you may forget you're wearing it, but that grapefruit wafts by to remind you several hours later. Admittedly, I often reach for more "mass appealing" freshies in my collection when in formal settings or expect to make first-impressions, but Forever will definitely make you stand out with its unapologetic vibrancy. So joyful and unique. 9/10.

From ages 8-18, I would routinely douse myself in a freshly cut grapefruit every morning. A single half of a full-grown beauty and seven good squeezes later, I would always start my day, the right way. You might say I went through grapefruits the same rate as I received compliments. Flies? Ladies? None could resist my stench. I even recall dodging school once or twice, just so I could spend the day making out with a pair of Brazilian imports, and no I’m not talking about women. Now that I’m older, I’ve moved onto the finer things in life, such as Dior Sauvage and hookers. But with the release of Light Blue Forever, Dolce&Gabbana have masterfully recreated what it feels like to drown yourself in grapefruit juice, and that takes me back to my childhood. Bravo.

I’ved come to love this fragrance. The natural smell and evolution gives it a very fresh cool aromatic citric vetiverish vibe. The projection is moderate but the longevity in skin is amazing compare to other fragrances in my collection. I think the maceration has intensified the notes and I really enjoy it a lot just sniffing my arm every now and then. I couldn’t believe me waking up the other day and still smelling a bit of the dry down, nice vetiver trace with a bit of sweet musky green touch. Sometimes at the end stages of the fragrance if you rub the skin where you put the perfume, like on your neck, you rub your wrist in the area and then smell, it opens up some notes that you don’t recognize at first. It’s a beautiful thing

In your face grapefruit. That's exactly what this is. If you don't like grapefruit please stay away from this fragrance. It's the rind and the zestiness with that juice splashing 💦 on your face refreshing you instantly. I read so many reviews about this frag and I completely agree with most of them. I don't get anything else, maybe some violet leaf just abit. I don't get sweaty vibes nope! None. I am using a perfume oil inspired version. Why do the good ones go though? Perfect for that special vacation or just a hot weather standard fragrance. I love it so far on my first assessment per the scent profile. It also leans abit feminine btw. I am in awe that this is a designer brand and upset that this was discontinued.

I bought a dupe version of this and I’m ngl it’s smells quite the exact same and omg this perfume is amazing I feel so mature like a have a floral shirt on with shorts and a cocktail in my hand and it’s very approachable. The initial spray is a bit harsh on the nose for me it kind of stings the nostrils with that shaving foam smell but when it get dry it really opens up very light on the sweetness and very hard with the “freshness” I’d compare this to, your just finished showering and you decide to shave so you put on your gillette blue shaving gel and go at it with your razor than you dry your face and you can still smell the shaving gel that’s what it smells like. My rating would be 8.5/10 My signature scent.

Amazing realistic juicy grapefruit from start to finish with a very nice vetiver and musk mixed in slowly throughout on skin that leaves a very well blended scent. It could almost be mistaken for an Hermes release with the quality you get here. This isn't a club scent or "panty dropper". But a Masculine very fresh citrus scent that is very natural and uplifting. Perfect for High heat. Italian Love does the same thing with minor twists. I would stock up because this will be gone soon and then D&G light blue will go back to their old boring formula which it seems they already have with their recent release of summer vibes. 10/10 for me. I hope they come back to this formula again because it's a winner.
