Light Blue Italian Love

This was most definitely a LOVE AT FIRST SMELL for me. Smells coastal, Mediterranean...possibly a beach on a secluded island smell. Wowza! Beautiful, fresh, clean, clear -- yes, it has the same type lemon base which is the DNA structure of the majority of other Light Blue perfume formulas that I have tried, but this one was much fresher -- and I immediately was drawn to this. This is in the same genre as my favorite Eau du Ciel perfume by Annick Goutal. This is super fresh, natural, youthful -- lighter than some of the other more powerful perfumes that I like to wear. There's something special about this one. Love THIS! ---------- This is an Oliver Cresp creation. He created Rare Gold, another favorite perfume. Upon trying this a second time, the first spray/spritz of this is pretty strong - The lemon zest is definitely more than PRESENT - it is Very Bold. However, within about 30-45 minutes that starts to level off where it is more approachable and calms down a bit. This is lovely on, memorable. ------------ Update - I ordered this and have been wearing it this past 2 weeks. The first spritz of this is super fresh, almost an explosion of citrus blended with acquatic notes. (The first spray is super strong, if you are not "into" a zesty type lemon smell - this would be a PASS). However, if you can make it through the first 30 minutes of this, this has such a gorgeous FRESH vibe to it. Very clean (almost reminds me of the furniture polish - Lemon Pledge, at times), there are aquatic notes which sometimes a beachy type vibe... I occasionally swear that I smell something very similar to coconut, but not exactly. This is a really good combination of fragrance notes. I love the freshness of this - I just wish that it lasted at least 8 hours. This has a spring/summer playful type vibe. Yes, this is a perfume that could be worn indoors and would be a great office fragrance, however - this is one that I would spray 30 minutes before you make an entrance... otherwise, this may be a little over powerful. This perfume registers with being fresh, clean - is not leaning in the direction of a sexy vibe for night clubbing so much - but it is a great daytime fun and playful scent. I could still see this perfume being worn for all sorts of occasions in the spring/summer... this would be a great beach scent. I could see this being worn at a fun cocktail place - for happy hour.

Tried this today and I am absolutely obsessed. I'm a soleil blanc lover and love my summery scents. This is it. This is a citrusy fragrance but has a little bit of a coconut kick. My man loved it too. I love it a lot better than the original light blue but it's special in that it has the original light blue dna but with a smoother coconut kick and a aldehydic summery vibe. It's very gorgeous. Finally I found a cirtusy scent that I love because light blue smells a little too strong and of cleaning product to me. I know others love it but for me it was a bit too strong in citrus. This is just perfect and has the smoothness and although coconut isn't in the notes I smell something like it. So beautiful, citrusy, fresh and delicious. I am positive the good review will start rolling in. It should be a permanent I hope for Dolce! It must be the musk mallow with the lemon and apple, and the jasmine sambac and rose play with the sweetness with cedar (strongest base note and always sexy in my opinion) followed by amber, musk and then sandalwood for a woody sexy base. European holiday worthy! I can see someone enjoying the sun and summer in Italy, smelling fresh and looking healthy, gorgeous and sunkissed! A very happy, fresh but sexy and playful scent.

Ooh!! VERY delicious. Opens with a sparkly, juicy, slightly tart lemon (similar to the Light Blue OG), but very slightly creamier and rounder. I sprayed both on my wrists simultaneously; while the Light Blue OG hits me with a delicious burst of tart Sicilian lemon, it also dries down to a very lightly sweet, overall woody scent. This one is creamier and less of a "burst" of lemon juice in the opening, but dries creamier and softer and more feminine. Love the ambrette, it always works for me. Delicious. I loved it so much I bought it immediately in the store after about 30 minutes of walking around with it. Having left it on my skin for a while, I'll say - drydown persists. Longevity is about 5+ hours (but it lasted through a heavily spiced meal lol). Projection: moderate For what it's worth, AFTER having purchased this fragrance, the sales assistant ALSO complimented this fragrance and said she had it in her collection - and said it lasted incredibly long on her skin. I prefer this to the OG slightly more, but spraying them both side by side, in the opening, the OG is definitely stronger. I feel this one lasts a little longer though, and it's creamer. Both are delicious.

I have a well curated collection of niche and expensive fragrances, but this little designer flanker is one of my favorites for summer. I love love a good fruity floral, and this one is bright, sunshiny lemon on the tree--you get a bit of wood and rind. Then crisp, sweet green apple and marshmellow sugar. It's a balanced concoction of fizzy citrus, fruit and musky sweetness that makes this one just a nice mood lifter, a little summer umbrella cocktail. As a side note--there's something beachy and carribean about this, so if you like tropical frags, this one leans a bit more apple, but the vacation vibe is there and sometimes I swear I detect coconut. Projection is good, lasting about half a day on my skin (but you'll be happy to respray).

I proper love this! It's a lovely lemon meringue pie kinda smell. Not a gourmandy 'fun' lemon meringue pie like, maybe, 4160 Tuesday's Lemon Sherbet (which I'm not knocking, I love that too) or a TAKE ME SERIOUSLY citrus like Un Jardin sur le Nil (also a fave), but a true 'mom grating lemon zest to make the curd' citrus with some rounded savourysweet in the woods and amber. Not, like, PASTRY-pastry, but the essence of the balance of pastry against lemon and meringue. And, for me, not a trace of toilet cleaner. Can't stop sniffing myself. I can tell it's not got much longevity - already fading after a quick spritz, but I'd be happy to have a full bottle of this. Gorgeous stuff.

Let's be clear. I hate the original light blue. However, Italian Love is just that..a love. The lemon is still present, but not in a cleaning agent type of way. The top notes are smooth & sweet, then transition into a soft musky ambrette. To me, it's an everyday scent that will come alive in the Spring/Summer breeze. Appropriate for all office settings, casual errands, or early brunches where heavy scents aren't necessary. Lasts about 3 hours on my skin, but all day on clothes. All day. I'm so glad I gave it a try despite disliking the other!

More musky and ambery, a bit lemony, this is just great for summer, nature, beach, and day and night out, very crisp, Mediterranean, airy, and a bit decadent, with decent 4-5 hours longevity, than become skin scent, but stays for 2-3 hours more, and on hair longer, until you wash it off. Better than current OG and Light Blue SUN, which is now my third favorite from LB line. The Intense is the best, if you like deeper and less feminine aspects of it, which I do, but Italian Love also serves me well, it's mood lifter.

I had bought the men's version...and....love at first sniff !! So, I decided to test this women's version as well and....bam !...another love at first sniff ! Received it today in the mail. Both the men's and women's versions have kinda/sorta the same DNA....but the women's projects the floral notes...in thge mid-wearing...ant the sweet/fruity vibes go under a bit. Very pleasing scent !! Fresh,yet sweet and floral...with a dash of woods/ambrette too. LOVE both !!! I may try layering them together...???..!!

I’m in love!😍🌞🌊🍋🏖️ Exactly what I was looking for - a perfect summer fragrance, amalfi lemon with some creamy sweetness... just love it! Reminds me of byredo gypsy water. Doesn’t last too long on my skin, so I definitely will need to buy some more, soon 🫶🏻

I was looking for a light woody fragnance and i found it. I like it very much. It smells like a freshly built beach hut. The initial blast of citrus goes away in a minute, and all that's left is this woody musky scent. Love it.

This is gorgeous and definitely smells of the Italian coast to me. I wore it all summer 2022 and went through another bottle this winter. I need to buy more, I love it so much I wear it everyday.

This smells like sitting under shade trees along the promenade of a Mediterranean beach, right as afternoon turns to evening, the sun still bright in the sky but the shadows begin to lengthen

i definitely get a milky, creamy coconut in this, sort of reminiscent of estee lauder's bronze goddess. this is my second favorite flanker after italian zest.

This is such a zesty lemony fizzy fragrance! It is so uplifting and a great summer fragrance which is very long lasting for an edt.

LOVE. Sexy, musky, warm, smooth, woody.

I’m not really a fresh perfume kind of person, but I actually don’t mind this one. Unlike the original Light Blue that’s reminiscent of toilet cleaner, this flanker acknowledges it’s past mistakes. The lemon note is prominent, but not in the way you would assume. Instead of the tangy and tart pulp, it’s actually the rind you smell; a little powdery and laid-back. I don’t really get much rose, but the jasmine is pretty noticeable. The cedar and sandalwood in the base almost tickle the nose. It gives off an effortlessly fresh vibe, and not a ‘I just sprayed this perfume instead of showering’ kind of fresh. Imagine this fragrance as being transparent, subdued, and enhancing rather than big, bold, and bright and you’ll appreciate it more.

I hate the original Light Blue w/ a passion. I think it is the bamboo note that I don't like in it. Now this Italian Love Flanker is really nice. Lemony, musky, softly floral, I love white rose in here. Ambrette musk is always a hit w/ me, I just love that vegetal musky smell of it. I don't find this overly woody, the sandalwood and cedar just round out the fragrance. This is an easy dumb reach for summer. Light, fun, crisp w/out being sharp. Musky w/out being heavy. Floral w/out being overpowering. Soft, light, casual, crisp, clean and on point. Perfect for hot weather. Fun in the sun. I might put this on my want list. I really like it.

Great for very hot temperatures because of the strong lemony note. It’s not on the fresh side but it is very light. Notes that I get the most before this beauty disappears(usually after two hours) is lemon(very similar to Amalfi lemon specifically), sandalwood and musk, there’s a tiny sweetness from apple and that’s mostly it. Beautiful, similar to original, but still beautiful. There’s a lot of resemblance to Colette by tocca mostly in the opening of Colette that I really wanted to buy but after trying it in store I decided to stay with D&G, similar and the same staying power, for a fraction of the price

The sandalwood in this lasts and lasts, and it's similar to the type of sandalwood as found in Le labo's Santal 33. It's basically the intense version of LB with Santal. I love it, I think it smells gorgeous. A summer scent that effortlessly carries over into fall. If you already have LB intense and Santal, no need to purchase -- just layer those. *Edit* or even better yet, layer with Juliette has a gun "Sunny Side Up", which is also a creamy, LeLabo-esque Santal frag with a touch of coconut 🥥

Refreshing beachy scent. Specifically being at the beach, sun tan lotion on, sand on your feet, sun on your skin, and a cool breeze. One weird thing is that this smell makes me think that it would have the notes of Light Blue Sun, which smells basically just like the normal Light Blue. I get coconut, ozonic notes, and a little vanilla-y floral.

On me it's very fresh, citrusy-fruity, not woody at all. Nice for everyday wear, won't cause any headaches. With that being said, I got bored of it after a year or so. Thankfully it layers well with more masculine woody scents, but otherwise I just don't want to wear it anymore. It's not really complex or unique...Good thing I bought only 50ml

Picture summer in the Mediterranean, gentle breeze from the sea and sun. I really enjoy this scent. It's similar to original Light Blue but it doesn't have this 'suffocating' quality as the original. This one is more woody, light and classy. Great citrus scent. Favorite one from the Light Blue collection. Love is Love is probably the 2nd.

VERY similar to the original Light Blue to my nose. Both lovely but not sure how much it's worth getting the flanker given the similarity. Italian Love Pour Femme is every so slightly softer/less sharp than the original. Both a little too peppery for my taste but I realize that will be a positive for others.

Opens up with a crisp citrus scent, but has creamy woodsy and a slightly floral dry down. I cannot get enough of the creamy dry down from the amber, sandalwood, and cedar but it disappears on the skin within 5 hours, and after 1-2 hours it is pretty much a skin scent.

I'm a die hard light blue fan I have several Flanders This one is a bit stronger than love love, less lemony than Italian lemon, less woody twist than original. This lightens up and goes a touch more rounded, keeps its floral lemony feel

super woody with a fresh blast of citrus and floral, really nice! to me this smells very unisex but luckily i love unisex fragrances, i can imagine this on a man or a woman and not bat an eye

Of all the Light Blue's I've tried, this one is the longest lasting and has such a nice dry down. I always receive compliments when wearing this. 8/10

Perfect for summer. Smells like a lemon tree.

I'm so glad that I properly tested Italian Love because it was quite a different experience compared to what I smelled on the blotter. It's much softer and feminine on paper and VERY woody on skin. This flanker has a softer interpretation of the Light Blue DNA with a heavy dose of sandalwood, so you must like sandalwood to be on board with this fragrance. Personally, I think this could be a year-round Light Blue due to its grounding woody notes, but I wouldn't want to wear this on a super hot summer day. Could be a nice option for a summer evening out. Projection and longevity are better than average for LB. It's pretty but not for me—too much sandalwood. Looks like I dodged a bullet this year I won't be suckered into buying this overpriced body spray. I'll keep dousing myself with the OG and Sun in the meantime.

This is very a very unique formula from Light Blue collection. Imagine merging Light Blue and Billie Eilish, or Light Blue and Bare Vanilla from Victoria’s Secret... this smells like one of those combinations. I don’t think this is necessary if you have Light Blue or Light Blue Intense, because all you simply have to do is layer it with a woody vanilla perfume.

Firstly I am not a fan of Light Blue in general, but own Sun & Love Is Love. I was looking for a reasonably priced citrus with some staying power, & this does fit that to an extent. This is beautiful, very citrusy initially, but dries to a honeyed floral on my skin. It’s pretty, but not enough citrus once again

My first LB perfume. Purchased it because of the Name :D Smell just uh oh.... love the fresh lemony in the beginning, but the drydown is so woody on my skin and it is not suitable in the summer weather near 40 degrees in Vietnam. More suitable on summer nights, autumn days. Kinda classic, clean lady smell!

Decent fragrance. Smoother and sweeter than the OG, but something in here smells "off" to me with my skin chemistry. I'm not typically a woodsy fragrance gal usually. If original LB is too screechy for you, try this.

Very meh. Smells like a Bath and Body Works spray and lasts about as long. I really wanted to love it, I bought it blindly bc of the promise of lemon.

I prefer the light blue intense ... this one is too light and the freshness does not last

I know this one has been getting a lot of love lately; but personally I'm not a fan, mostly due to its obnoxious opening. I prefer something light and refreshing in the summer, but the fruity citrus in the opening comes off less sweet and more like overpowering tartness of pulp and rind. Almost like the inside of a bag filled with orange and lemon peels that has been left out in the sun for a day. After a few minutes the tartness settles down a bit and balances out with the woody musk a bit more, but still comes off as something that would be way too thick and overpowering on a hot and humid day.

I bought a sample based on the descriptions and I really wanted to like this but it just made me feel something I can only describe as similar to carsick - I felt really uncomfortable when smelling this even on the dry-down. It just doesn't work for me: the creamy/milky/ coconutty mix with the fizzy lemon just smelt off. It could just be my skin reaction, but this is a definite no. I felt like I had to wash it off straight away.

I tried this at Ulta bc it was listed as a fresh citrus scent. It opens up very soft citrus smell with a pinch of sweetness but that quickly dissipates. You are left with all woody notes. Not a brazen & sharp woody, but its woody nevertheless. Being that I dont like woody, its way too much for me. This is easily a unisex fragrance.

This is quite different from the other Light Blue flankers, out of which my favourite is Light Blue Forever. Unfortunately the only smell I get from Light Blue Italian Love is that of sweet cucumbers. I tried to wear it a few times and I really tried to like it but all I could smell was sweet cucumber salad (mixed with some musk and melon).

I am shocked to say I don't like it! What more can I say? My favorite perfume inspired me to branch out but this doesn't go well with my chemestry.

This is a great reminder for me not to blind buy scents, even if they are flankers of the perfumes I love. While I was hoping for a woodier version of the OG, like the description and some of the reviews here suggest, all I get is a coconut mixed with aquatic and citrus notes. 🥥🌊🍋 Italian love? More like a Caribbean affair... 🏝️ Yes, it has the citrusy DNA of the LB but it is like a sweet, creamy, tropical cocktail which lacks complexity and sophistication of the OG- this is simply a brother from another mother. Also, lasting power and silage are much poorer compared to the OG (which lasts hours on me). If you like tropical, ozonic fragrances, it might be worth a try, but if you enjoy the freshness of the OG it might not be for you. Personally, I prefer my Pina Colada in a glass than on my body! 🍹🥥 *Edit: Looking at the notes of the Sun edition I could swear that this is exactly what I am getting here: coconut, ozonic notes, citrus, frangipani and some vanilla. I’m really confused!

*sigh* I love this. This is my first of the light blue range that I’ve ever tried. But I need it to last a little longer. The smell totally leaves me after 3-4 hours and I KNOW that fish scents are not usually very long lasting but this perfume as an EDP would be heaven. I would like it to have a different pressure pump as well because not all body parts need the same amount of perfume, some pump that allows me to distribute the scent better. Over all I adore it. If they keep it in the line, I will purchase EVERY SINGLE TIME. Unless they release an EDP or intense version... I’ll leave my life savings at the store.

So summertime is usually when you’re supposed to wear fragrances like these, But there is just something so heavy and cloying about this that makes it very unenjoyable to me and I would not want this wafting around me in high heat. I’d go for the original light blue if I was gonna get one, but my opinion that one’s no good either sooooo. Good news, though if you dig it, it lasts forever on clothes.

I fell in love with this one. This is my first of the LB line and it was a pleasant surprise. The original LB is not my thing, very meh to me, but this one i feel it very crisp and joyful, with those notes very citrusy and then the dry down a very classy and subtle sandalwood. The best of all is that my husband also love it, highlighted in his skin different notes. Very nice find.

As a fan of D&G LB and most of its flankers, happy to report I really love this one! It has a warm dry down! Which is nice with the lemony opening! I layered this with some Vanilla lotion and omg...I smell like lemon bars. So delicious! It's fresh but it's warm! Like lemon meringue or lemon bars. Think buttery warm graham cracker crust but with lemony tartness. It's a win!

I love the original Light Blue and Love is Love, but this one was so disappointing...All I can smell is wood and musk, I cant even smell the lemon...Its not refreshing...its just dusty and so boring..just no..Im happy I own the original.

Call me crazy, but Italian love’s drydown reminds me of Dahlia noir, the discontinued. If there is any nostalgics for it, try this one and give it a couple of hours’ time.

Damn this fragrance is fire. As a man I absolutely love it, that green sour apple is amazing. Kinda reminds me of a women’s version of Parfums de Marly Greenley.

Smells very similar to the original. It’s just a bit more ambery. It’s pleasant and elegant but overpriced, in my opinion. It’s nothing groundbreaking.
