Light Blue Italian Zest

I don't think I've ever had a more pleasant buying experience, as this is exactly everything I expected and more. For reference, this is my first and only Light Blue iteration, so can't compare it to other versions and have no desire to try others. The emphasis on lemon really appealed to me, and on a hot day I thought about smelling juicy lemon, sliced green apple, bamboo and light floral and I dove in with a blind buy. Most of my fragrance purchases have been blind as I don't spend much and can't be bothered, but that's always risky and things are rarely exactly what I expect--some are much better. But this was exactly what the notes led me to hope for: this is Summer. This IS summer. Even the iso e super which is normally too screechy for me makes itself felt in a windswept sun bleached coastal breeze. This lemon is juicy and joyful. I hadn't experienced anything past the opening when I had to go to bed, and the next morning this was gone from my skin, which was fine. But then I picked up the shirt I sprayed it on the night before and omg, I cannot get enough of it! This is a glass of iced lemonade on a hot day, and that first ocean breeze that hits you when you turn the right corner on your sweaty trek to the beach. This is a vacation in a bottle, just buy it while you can!

This is so refreshing! This is the best in the D&G light blue fragrance line. It's a fresh lemon citrus scent. This is very unisex. It's a bit sweeter than the original light blue that most will feel this is the most wearable. This also can be compared to I love love by Moschino but this one has way more lemon in it and so I own both for that reason. If this run's out I would definitely buy a back up! It has great sillage beyond arm's length and it lasts about average for a citrus fragrance of about 3-4 hours. But when you wear this you will get compliments. It's just a very vibrant refreshing fragrance for any time of the year but especially day time and for the spring and summer months. If you love fresh citrus fragrances then this is a must buy. Since this is the best one I would say don't buy any other one but this one!

Summers here are hot and humid. The temperature’s regularly in the mid to high 30s ( that’s high 90s to 100 + to those of you in the USA) and humidity’s well over 90%, too. It’s too damned hot and sticky for anything sweet. I wanted a sharp, refreshing, lemony citrus- something like L’Occitane’s Verbena, but with a bit more longevity- a bit more bang for my buck. I went through L’O’s Verbena like it was water. Something with the bite Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea used to have before EA reduced it to a bottle of water with a miser’s spit of fragrance. I’ve settled on this and I’m really enjoying it. Sure, it disappears fast, like all citrus perfumes, but it makes me feel clean and cool when I spray it on.

This is that sister to Light Blue original. There is a zing of fresh citrus that pops right after you initially spray that makes it a little different. I love Italian Zest the way I love Moschino's I LOVE LOVE. This is different because it smells like luscious candied lemon. I would love to own this fragrance. It reminds me of swimming in a lake in summer while camping. I am afraid the dry down on my skin isn't as nice as I Love Love is. The lemon makes me smell a little salty before it fades. I will continue to test this out and see if it holds up, or if my husband likes it. It's worth trying!

I bought this at the Sephora VIB sale and it arrived today. I ripped open the box to try it and love it! This is a very fresh clean citrus scent and the lemon does not smell like cleaner. It is similar to light blue but not the same. It is perfect for spring and is not overpowering in the heat. It lasts a decent amount of time on me and does not project too far so I can wear it in close quarters without making others gasp for air. I highly recommend this perfume if you want a refreshing lemon scent for spring and summer.

To my (unexperienced) nose, this starts as a very realistic, juicy sour lemon. After 20 minutes it dries down a bit less acidic, sweeter, and starts to smell like the original Light Blue with a faint lemon candy vibe. I wear this anytime I'm going to be outside in warm weather. I wear it to work sometimes since it is inoffensive and uplifting. It only lasts about 2-3 hours on my skin but that gives me an excuse to smell the beautiful opening notes again :)

I always wanted to own some iteration of Light Blue and once I found out about this flanker, I knew I had to try it and scoured the internet for it for months. It's the same fresh+sexy addictiveness of Light Blue, but perhaps a bit less sharp. It's like a lemon meringue pie with some vanilla whipped cream in the dry down. Love it, but poor longevity. I'll try Love is Love next summer and Summer Vibes the summer after that (if I can find either).

To me, this smells exactly like the OG Light Blue, but with a sweet and zesty drydown that reminds me limoncello (which I'm sure is intentional, obviously). I love perfumes with a distinct lemon note for the most part, and this definitely fits that bill for me. All in all, I will say that it's lovely like Light Blue ... But better! I love this flanker! I can't imagine disliking this fragrance if you love Light Blue.

So, so good. Breezy, airy, slightly sweeter, lemon pastry-ish version of Light Blue. Different enough from the original for me with the lemon verbena, bergamot and vanilla to have both in my collection. Compliment getter, too. My husband rarely comments on my fragrances and mentioned to me this morning that this one smells good. I'm wearing it today on a blue sky, mid summer day and it's perfect. Love this one.

Sunny, bright sugared lemons, with the signature Light Blue touch. The only downside is longevity is not very strong, I find that layering it with a spritz of the original Light Blue makes it a bit stronger. I personally love the packaging, reminded me of drugstore beauty products of the 70s, very whimsical. A blind buy, as I am a big D&G fan- & had & loved Sunset in Salina.

If Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is the fluffy meringue on a lemon meringue pie, then Light Blue Italian Zest is the lemon curd part. It's very fresh. It reminds me of the lemons in Amalfi and the salt air. That white sugar is toned down. Its still an airy scent. Once the lemon is burnt off, the dry down is exactly Light Blue.

I was surprised by how much I love this perfume. It wears very well in humid and drier climates. Sillage is good and it has great longevity. Not too sweet, but also not too tart. Really well-balanced in my opinion. This is my very favorite of the entire Light Blue line and one of my top three frags.

I have just acquired this fragrance and I absolutely love it! It is very strong and lemony, like pure lemon zest. I personally love it! Not to strong in my opinion as it sits fairly closely on the body and is moderate in lasting. Similar to the intense but I do love this a tiny bit more.

I dont really get why so many hate this perfume, of people I know. I could wear it all year round if it wasn't so much of a summer scent as it is. But I get a lot of compliments in the summertime, and luckily the citrus gets very well with my skin chemistry.

Sweet limoncello, almost candied with a hint of fresh apple. Gets a bit muskier and woodier as it dries down, similar to the OG Light Blue. Perfect for hot weather, very refreshing.

This is just amazing. Reminds me a lot of the expensive Creed jardin di amalfi. So lemony and sweet from the apple.

I love this so much more than the original fragrance. It's PERFECT for summer ! It smells like a lemonade !

I drench myself in this. And you have to! Because it doesn't last. But man if you like lemon, this is IT

Why must the best things be so short lived? 😩 this opens with the most realistic lemon scent I’ve come across in a fragrance. Upon first spray, it smells like freshly squeezed lemon juice with lots of lemon zest. This settles almost immediately on the skin and reminds me of lemon sorbet as one of the other reviewers stated because it sweetens a bit, but with lemon zest because the zestiness is still noticeable though not quite as strong. I LOVE the fragrance, but it’s short lived on my skin. It settles to a skin scent about 30 mins after applying, which is saddening to me because I have to sniff the areas where I sprayed it to smell it. & it only lasts about 3 hours on my skin 😩 I’d love an intense version of this fragrance with the exact same scent, but more projection & longevity. Those are my only issues with this fragrance.

Clean, refreshing and a citrus-heavy scent I've been DYING to have!!! It is one of the few citrus-dominant scents I've found for women that does not also delve into the super sweet. I think of it as a great dupe for Citron Noir from Hermes, especially because it actually performs BETTER. I'm surprised see the complaints about longevity as it has lasted through entire days at the office for me, but I guess it's a body chemistry thing. I'd say it's an ideal summer scent if you've been looking for citrus without the overwhelming sweetness. Not for everyone, but I personally adore it.

I was entranced by this perfume at Ulta Beauty. I didn’t buy it at the time, thinking I would find smaller bottles for less cost. That wasn’t happening, except some “sample” sizes on EBay-no, thanks. So I bought some in Sephora after wearing it again around the store. I’m enjoying the light, crisp, summery citrus scent very much! It’s a splurge for me, but I really like it and it shouldn’t offend anyone’s nose like some scents seem to.

This perfume smells like lots of lemons. It's so citrusy, that I somehow misunderstood the name and thought that it's named Lemon Zest. The scent is esay to enjoy, very summery, uplifting, fresh and a bit sweet too in a citrusy, nice way. It's like fresh natural lemonade! I like it very much!

It smells almost exactly the same with the original but with more lemons. It is a nice scent but I prefer the original one as the lemon in this one is sweet like a lemon tart and I don't want to smell like that. But if I just smell it, not wear it, then it's nice.

I was looking for a limoncello type of a scent and purchased this. It is Light Blue with a sweeter, ripe, lemon twist. Very easy to wear especially in high temperatures. Longevity is not great, even for an EDT, so keep that in mind.

Just tried in my wrist. After some minutes for me it smells like the original with a bit of soury sparkly lemon on top of all. If you have already the orginal i dont think is worth buying this flanker. But definetly smells good ;)

It smells wonderful and I am complimented on wearing it regularly. Like other reviewers have said, it doesn’t last long so you need to reapply. I haven’t seen this fragrance recently, so I’m not sure if it’s still available.

Top notes are truly charming. Very realistic, lively lemon! Later it is more like the first Light Blue. Musk, woods. All in all, it's better Light Blue.

A blind purchase that I regret. It’s more citrus as the name suggests but I can barely smell it after an hour, and it’s quite warm here now. I’ll stick with the original, as it lasts on my skin. Might be great in a tropical climate. Recommend testing before buying.

I used to love it. Bought it right away after smelling it at the store because the scent was exactly like a lemon meringue BUT over the years the scent changed to a lemon scented floor cleaner so yea I'm totally disappointed in this considering I've had other designer perfumes and none of them ever had a scent turned this bad. This was my first dolce & gabbana perfume and this first impression just turns me off from the brand.

I'm so devoted to D&G Light Blue, have emtied a lot of bottles since it was released in Norway, Bergen, but this Italian Zest is totally unnessesary, old wisdom says: Never change a winning team, so pls no more disturbing and upseting copycats, D&G Light Blue is perfect.

Very fresh and Sharp and Clear lemon opening. Not bad, it takes a stand. It kind of reminds me of my husband's L'Occitane Verbena perfume. Later when it dries Down it becomes more general citrusy and somewhat fruity. You gotta love lemons With this one...

OMG.... The lemon in this is so strong, zesty doesn't begin to describe it. I love Light Blue but the lemon in this is so sharp and tart. This isn't an organic gentle lemon, it's an angry GMO lemon on steroids!

Sold my bottle because I simply could not find anything unique about this scent. Definitely not unpleasant but to me just a cookie cutter lemony fragrance with moderate longevity.

I just tested it today on my arm and I agree 100% with dzingunyte comment below. I am a bit disappointed but on the other hand, more cash to spend on another fragrance ;)

This is really pleasant, when I first opened the sample package I had a waft of it before I pulled it out and didn't like it, it smelt masculine like a guys cologne then once sprayed on my wrist it was a a definate lemon zest blast which I also wasn't actually keen on tbh even though I was hoping for a zesty lemon it wasn't the kind that I had hoped for. It wasn't until it then dried down that it smelt like a creamy lemon with a hint of sugar, it was at this stage that I really really liked it, the name italian zest is apt in the first stage but after that it isn't zesty atall on me, so even though I was hoping for a good zesty lemon it worked out well. I used to wear d&g light blue years ago and did like it but it had a bit of a masculine edge so I've been wearing lanvin eclat di arpege since as it smells a little like the best parts of light blue..I really was expecting this to have atleast some similarity to the original but strangely it doesn't, it smells nothing like it to me atall. This is a simple scent, yet I've also never smelt a perfume like this before so i think this is quite unique aswell, you won't smell like everybody else wearing this. I'm not sure I will get a full bottle even though it's lovely and even though it lasts quite a while mainly because I was looking for a good cool zesty lemon for the summer and on me this is a more "foody/creamy" lemon but it is lovely nonetheless and it's also quite addictive so who knows maybe I'll be swayed to buy it eventually lol. Given it's creamy nature on me I really think this is a good all rounder season wise too, I'm thinking this would smell gorgeous layered with bvlgari amethyst, that would be creamy yumminess

I think this fragrance really reacts with body chemistry. This is not a safe blind buy because I just got it last week and I get a lot of compliments on it. My friend liked it so much that I gave her a decant and it smells like a lemon cleaning agent of some kind on her. It’s is very different on her and not in a positive way. She was shocked because she says it smells more like a slightly citrus spin on the original light blue on me and she says it does not smell synthetic on me. We had other people smell it on us to be sure it wasn’t in our heads. Other people confirmed what we smelled. So I love this because I find it smells really natural on me but it does smell completely different and artificial on my friend. I would recommend going to Sephora and asking for a sample of this and try test wearing it a few days. There are other fragrances I could recommend as blind buys but I think the most important thing about this is that it’s not a safe blind buy in my opinion. Also I should add that this “female” version is so much better than the “male” version and I think this is unisex. If I were a guy I would wear this version of Zest and not the “male” version. The “male” version does remind me of a cleaning product.

Why am I slightly embarrassed to find this perfume kind of endearing? At first it was as if I had spilled a lemony gin cocktail over my wrist (which I didn't really mind) then about 5 minutes later, as though I had spilled a very pleasant lemony floor cleaner over my wrist. Later it's like a really gorgeous shampoo that I'd want to use after going swimming. The gin cocktail thing is extremely accurate if gin cocktail is what they were going for, but then no big prizes there, given that perfume is mostly booze. I think I will keep it in the car for hot days after swimming. It's a sort of a silly perfume, but I don't dislike it. It's pretty close to what I was expecting based on the packaging. Hours later: still shampoo. Good shampoo though.

So I am a die hard Light Blue lover, so when the “eau intense” version came out I was like Omg best fragrance ever! So just a few short weeks, god it might even have been days later I go into Shoppers Drug Mart and see this. I thought it must have something really special or new in that bottle to come out with it so close to the eau intense version. Aaaaaaaaand low and behold, it smells just like the original, everything about it is the same to me. I couldn’t smell a difference, not even in the slightest. Personally, I find it ridiculous-oh poor Dolce and Gabanna...they are so hard up for coin they had to come out with so many new fragrances this year! Pffftttt! Please! What a waste of money for anyone who bought it!!

The opening smells like an iced fresh fizzy lemon soda and lemon rinds! But as the scent progresses, it reminds me of the original light blue, which I am not a fan of! Had the top notes stayed around longer, I would have been crazy about this scent. However, it’s definitely better than the original ( less woodsy and less musky) and it’s perfect to spray on a super hot humid day. I only bought this because i was looking for something similar to Crabtree Evelyn’s citron honey coriander body lotion. This perfume is that scent in the opening! This was a blind buy but I do not regret it. Definitely get this if you want to smell like lemons! Also similar to Moschino’s cheap n chic I love love.

I had the chance to test it yesterday at D&G's and I was positively impressed. I guess it was the atmosphere in the boutique, with majolica patterns all over the place, that made me fall for this perfume. Be advised: this is a LEMON BLAST - you must be in the mood for a kingsize lemonade to enjoy this fragrance. I didn't get the dishwash feeling so there are high chances it will become my next summer signature. Seems to be rather long-lasting and has a non-invasive sillage suitable for dog days. As for the packaging, I don't find it that horrible. I think it's fun, it reminds me of popsicles & vintage beach signs.

this is the best lemon scented fragrance !!! i was so surprised today when i got this because i am not a fan of the original light blue or its off springs lol.........for some reason they all smell kind of medicinal & sharp.........................HOWEVER not this one.........italian zest is a wonderful, cheerful,happy,fun sunny fragrance :):):) out of all the light blues- for me - this is the only one i love.............it smells like sugar coated lemon candies - yum yum :) perfect for summer or hot days........this is actually a scent that could make u feel cool on a hot day lol - it just has that vibe :)

If you already own Light Blue/Light Blue Eau Intense then I don't think you need this, however if I were choosing between this and those two I would choose the Italian Zest without a doubt! It's like a lemon sorbet, a much zestier and more pure lemon. The original is more of a lemon sherbet, it's sweeter and the lemon isn't as tart/sour. Italian Zest really is the zest of the lemon! Pretty impressed with the fragrance, particularly as I was so dubious to start! I have to say though, I'm not all that keen on the packaging.. I've only spritzed half an hour ago so I'll edit with longevity/performance :)

I’ll start off by saying the Light Blue eau intense is my go to, it’s my signature, it’s my fragrant everything lol now, I didn’t find any difference in the original and the intense version aside from the strength and longevity which from the name itself I wasn’t expecting anything different.....I can’t say the same about this. I saw this tonight and thought ohhhhh I bet this is niiiiiice! Sadly I find it the exact same as the OG fragrance with absolutely no difference at all. It really bugs me when a company does that. I would be shocked to learn if anyone found it to be different at all!!

This is so similar to I Love Love by Moschino...it's a zesty fresh lemon blast mixed with sugar cubes and musk..it is the best in the Light Blue line hands down. Don't get any other one but this one or wait for the intense one if they ever come out with that but if they did you could go through both because they are very appealing and made just right..you get more bang for your buck with Moschino but If your a D&G fan you may just pick this one up as well..I wouldn't mind owning this one..I love it!

Just tried it , I got a sample and am wearing it At first very citrusy , but in a nice way I don’t always care for lemon but this isn’t like dishwasher liquid It is more a nice fresh lemony vibe , then it goes rather floral and light and too soft maybe !? Nice on a summer day but it isn’t my cup of tea .. still rather pretty and fresh and easy to wear !! I don’t get all the notes may I add no apple not cedar !? It gets like the original in the base, with s little fresh twist,,I like it.

this is the best light blue version in my opinion..better than original and better than intense version and all the flankers..this is what i think the original light blue should smell.i remember when i first tried litht blue years ago..it ́s very close to the intense version, but less sharp and more lemony..longevity is not very good, but that ́s okay in the summer..it ́s very happy summery funny fragrance :-)
