Light Blue Love in Capri

Wow. This is gorgeous! Something a bit cool and narcotic about the sweetness of this one though it’s never obnoxious. A male friend said “you smell like a woman” when I hugged him wearing this. I didn’t ask what I usually smell like but I KNOW I smell delicious in this. It’s got a floral lilt and softness that the OG LB doesn’t have but it keeps the lemony cedar Light Blue thing that’s just so charming! Decent lasting power... love the cedar dry down. The opening is to die for though... first 15 minutes are from heaven. The honeysuckle shines. I got a used bottle to try it since the original burned my nostrils when I wore it (love it on others!) I feel this is the epitome of a perfect “flanker”- still smells similar to the original species but with a unique twist. Now I’m really hoping these haven’t gone away and I can still get good bottles in the future.

Very nice and light summer fragrance. The original Light Blue is easily detected in this one. It is just a little more white floral, but in a nice way. There's some sweetness to it. Mostly it's citrusy, but not so bitter as original. It has a mild touch. I think it's the best fragrance from the Light Blue line so far. I will test is again, to find out if I would like to buy it, it's definitely worth a try! Edit: I tried it on my skin to find out more about it. It is pure perfection! So fresh, sweet and summery! I think this is a must have! Reminds me of Montale's Soleil de Capri.

Light Blue Love in Capri by Dolce & Gabbana I would agree smells very similar to the original, but Love in Capri has a more prominent floral note from the honeysuckle which I really like because it is not as lemony or tart in the opening as the original. I have one colleague in particular who always seem to have some comment to make about my daily fragrances actually compliment me on this one and the kids that I work with would hug me and say I smelled good – so it is definitely a people pleaser/compliment getter and great to wear in the workplace without offending anyone.

It certainly remains a perfume suitable for summer as it is fresh, I can feel the mandarin, less the lemon, the almond that gives the right sweetness, but the note that I definitely feel the most is the jasmine. This is a variation to the classic Light Blue, similar in some ways but much more delicate, floral, more refined I would say .. maybe I prefer it to the original! Although the version I preferred remains the Light Blue Dreaming in Portofino, inimitable!

One of the best flankers in the range, it takes away that pungent citric-lactic final note from the OG intense version. I also enjoy Panarea version and Forever. Very light citrus with powdery notes. I was going to purchase original Light Blue, but I saw this one and it was limited edition. Longevity is good. I can smell this all day long. I can't compare this to the original Light Blue because I haven't tested it on my skin. I like this one but I wouldn't repurchase it. There is many similar scents.

Very close to the original. Fresh, citrus, crisp and musky. Interesting and zesty Lovely summer scent which is hard not to like. Captures summer perfectly in both scent and bottle. Dolce gabbana is for sure a solid perfume maker. I like it a lot, an all time favorite for me. Longevity is average and silage is soft.

I took a chance on this flanker based on my enjoyment of the original and the notes listed. I absolutely love it! The citrus is prominent but less sharp than the original. It is also more floral and slightly sweeter than the original but keeps the Light Blue dna. It is just a beautifully well balanced fragrance.

I'm not a LB fan but this one was a blind buy when it came out and haven't had a single regret. Every summer I wear this with pleasure, it is nice, bright and flowery fresh, still recognizable as LB but different at the same time. Quite inoffensive, but still outstanding, I love this!

My favourite LB flanker (this and the Sun). It has a strong LB DNA but paired with the honeysuckle and just the right amount of jasmine makes it sooo good. It elevates those fresh notes to perfection and make it smooth, feminine and just so pleasant to wear. I am in love.

Smell really good. Almost the same tham the original one, but a little bit of flower and Woody. Very nice! I'm in love !!!

It's pretty crazy that I love this since I absolutely hate the original LB with a passion. So many people are saying that they are basically the same and that you don't need both, but I completely disagree. They are actually quite different although if I didn't know what I was smelling and someone said it's a LB flanker, I'd totally understand. So, it's actually a flanker, not one of those that are completely new scents that just have a similar name... For me, it's Light Blue perfected. I was on the hunt for summer scents recently. I only bought this after successfully liking the Escape to Panarea version (which I bought only because of numerous accounts saying that it's very different from OG) and seeing that it has honeysuckle noted as one of the main notes which I love. I was really nervous about people saying that it's really similar to the OG -- I really hate the piercing green apple note and the unrelenting CEDAR note in the original, but this does not have that. There is something that smells like a natural apple here as well but it's not nuclear and does not burn off your nostrils like the OG, and you'd barely note that it's apple. Love in Capri doesn't appear to be floral immediately, but compared to the OG it's very floral. It's so fresh, so citrus-y, and a lot smoother than the OG. It has a real feeling of lots of space and air, breeze. It titters a bit towards functional scents (which I usually hate) but I don't know - it just smells so good! I keep sniffing myself and enjoying the tiny little puffs it produces around me. The sillage is quite good in the first 30 minutes then becomes MINIMAL, but longevity is ok for a citrus scent. 2-3 hours? It just seems like it's gone because the sillage is non-existent. It's a weird one. I acquired a 100ml bottle for a pretty good price and have been doing 10 sprays at least each time I wear it, each time on clothes. And I've sprayed it twice today already lol I don't think this is essential, but I really like it and I'm glad I bought it.

D&G Light Blue "Love in Capri" is very similar to "Escape to Panarea" except the sweetness is more subtile. Immediate reaction is the light/dry freshness, not overpowering beachy scent. Almost like saltwater with a floral twist. The citrus and white florals are the absolut dominate in this one. Honeysuckle and the woody base is true to description. Also the fresh mandarin and lemon is there if you smell the perfume for about 5 seconds. What I like about the perfume is that the notes are clear and it does not feel like a heavy scent. Because of the woody notes this is not a super sweet scent and it feels more mature to wear in winter as well in summertime. Great Perfume!

My Fave of the Light Blue Crew This is my favorite flanker of the few I've tried in the Light Blue range. It's much more composed and calm. The orange and almond in here are blended so harmoniously... I think it's lovely. It's even a little sweeter than the original which makes it more versatile. There's a warmth and coolness to it that I enjoy so much. I hate that it's so hard to find currently ... But I may just have to hunt down another bottle really soon.

I brought a sample of this to my vacation in Greek islands this year. Goes very well with hot salty air, sea breeze, endless blue waters, and not a cloud in the sky. A frag easy like sunday morning on a beach. A mojito garnished with honeysuckle. It's 'Love in Crete' for me and definitely full bottle worthy. Better than original, which everyone is probably sick of by now, or not, but still better.

Favorite of the series. Fresh with an optimistic,splashy yet hugging vibe. Clean with excitement. Has some depth,not too lemony. People will smell it and smile. Chanel Chance Eau Vive is similar,still more citrucy.

I love this flanker, even better than the original, which is currently in my top 3 rotation. The fresh lemon stays all through the drydown, which is mellow and light. Another FB purchase for me.

Liked it! Smells better than ''Dreaming in Portofino'' and more fresh than ''Sunset in Salina'' but of course reminds original Light Blue

Quite aromatic, citrus & musky scent. I like it, but it's not fresh enough.

@DustyMemphis this perfume does not last on the blotter (that is the paper where you spray scents), nor on the skin, so this perfume does not last anywhere. Anyone's skin isn't the problem. But, I think you've gotta learn that perfumes are made to be sprayed on skin, that is the whole point of them, to blend with your skin chemistry, pheromones and all to become your personal scent. That's what's alluring about perfumes and what differentiates them from aromatizers and glades. If you don't want to hurt your skin, you can get oil perfumes (attars). And if you want to spray on your clothes, you don't need perfume, you can get a very good Downy.

This perfume has no longevity what so ever. In about half an hour dissipated from my skin and from the blotter, I can't even consider it a skin scent... It's not similar to the original Light Blue, it's not as fresh or citrusy, it's very floral in an old-lady kind of way. And it would be acceptable, if it lasted for a little while. I don't recommend this perfume. I don't think it's available anymore 'cause it was a limited edition, so, don't think many people will be buying it soon. But if you happen to see it on discount somewhere, it's not worth it.

On my skin this starts out as lemon cleaner and then dries down to a sharp warm amberwood and a pissy white floral. Hard pass.

I am so sorry they discontinued this flanker... it means a lot to me... three years ago I ended a relationship with someone who caused me much suffering from his behaviour..I was so devastated those days.. one night I was out with some friends and they wanted to have a crêpe (pancake), we headed to this place and the lady who used to cook these lovely crêpes was selling a few perfumes, as well. That night she was waiting for a customer who hadn’t left a deposit for the new D&G Love in Capri, but the costumer did not show, she was so sad because he was a foreigner and he would have left the following day. I didn’t plan to buy a fragrance but I asked her if I could sniff it... I fell in love with that wonderful zesty, white floral bouquet with a hint of sweetness provided by the almond.. and the honeysuckle... oh it was so lovely that I had to have it. She sold me the perfume and from that night I felt an inner change “new perfume, new life” I slowly recovered from my pain and I wore love in Capri for almost an year without changing it and I got so many compliments... I guess this is the most complimented perfume I’ve ever owned, especially from men... they literally would stick to me saying “Sorry but you smell so good”, yes it was embarrassing, but funny at the same time, this perfume is magical and I have bought at least three full bottles from that time. I keep a bottle almost unused just to remind me to be always resilient.

A friend gifted me this and I'm happy to have light blue in my collection again- or some version of it anyway :) I believe that this is rather close to the current original but as mentioned before the heliotrope, almond blossom and honeysuckle give it an interesting, more floral, twist. I used to wear the hell out of light blue during my teenage years (am now 31). It was one of THE perfumes for me. But over time, as with so many other fragrances now, it has changed but I cannot pinpoint what exactly that is. Maybe it's also me but it seemed somewhat smoother back then. Now, it has this cedar note that so many fragrances have, which is rather harsh. Hm... ok back to Love in Capri. Sillage is rather soft (unlike the original) and longevity moderate (much longer on clothes and hair) so I spray without abandon throughout the day. If you like the original, you'll like this as well. If you don't you can cross this one of your list, too :)

I just recieved a sample of this today and I'm still on the fence with it, on first spray I didn't like it one bit, it is like the masculine part of the original only maybe a tad less woody and nothing else to my nose, I wear lanvin eclat di arpege as to me it smells very much like the feminine part of the original light blue and this is quite literally the masculine part minus the pretty feminine parts, I think this could be worn by men easily aswell as women. It has grown on me a tiny bit throughout the day but it isnt a love at the moment and I don't think that'll change. There is nothing horrible about it it is wearable but it just isn't as feminine as I like my perfumes to be most of the time, I stopped wearing light blue years ago because of the masculine woody edge but I much prefer the original to this x

Well, I’m a huge fan of Light Blue and Light Blue Intense. There isn’t a flanker I don’t like but I’m not a huge fan of a couple of the more sweet & floral ones (Sunset in Salina, Escape to Panarea are nice but not favorites. Sun is okay. Forever is beautiful and reminds me a bit of TF Neroli Portofino). This one and Italian Zest are most like the original imo but this one has a subtle floral sweetness to it that cuts the zesty citrus without neglecting it. It just becomes... warmer? somehow. Maybe it’s the honeysuckle. Idk but I got a steal price for it and it’s one of my favorites for sure. Beautiful, fresh, less unisex than the original and intense imo and more feminine without being overly floral and heavy. It’s a fresh, crisp, but still sweet and clean fragrance. It’s love for me.

It's lighter and the citruses are less pungent compared to the OG and Intense versions. I get a slight urine-like smell on the dry down which I don't get from the OG/ Intense. I guess it's the jasmine which is not overpowered by the citruses in this version. It lasts me an hour, so the longevity is worse than the cheapest body spray I own. Edit: So it's late spring now and I decided to use up my 1ml decant. Knowing about the longevity issue and it being very light overall, I sprayed it on like a madwoman. 8 sprays later I smell gorgeous, almost exactly like the blooming jasmine bush in front of my house, with some honeysuckle sprinkled in. I had no problems using it up as I still had to top up every hour or so.

Love in Capri was a blind buy for me as I bought it in sales. I wasn't convinced that I should keep it, but after wearing it in a very hot summer day, I realized that this is perfect for summer/holiday. It has a citrusy freshness to it, but not in the typical chemical/car air freshener way, but more like an expensive freshness that is added to a summer perfume. Smells similar to Light Blue, but this one is more sophisticated and more expensive smelling.

Out of all the light blue flankers, this is my favorite. It’s the perfect blend of citruses with an added sweetness that balances it out. Too bad the performance is like a body spray. I find myself having to spray it in a big dollop of Eucerin lotion to make it last, as I do this with many of my fragrances and still spray my pulse points and clothes afterwards. Despite all that, it’s still a love for me on a sunny, summer day.

Best flanker IMO... Sweeter than the original and also a bit salty. Very long lasting and perfect for summer nights. This one always comes with me on vacation! It’s now a shared favorite with “Italian Zest” which I would recommend wearing during the day and “Love in Capri” in the evening.

The initial spray smells incredibly good. The original Light Blue was my big love for many years and the only perfume I used. My first thought was that this is even better than original! BUT then after 10 min the smell was completely gone. Such a pity.

smelled this today in Rome's airport before the flight going back home :) well,nothing special at all. i have Dreaming in Portofino,this is almost the same. just a nice not offensive frag. pass it on :)

Basically smells like original light blue with a touch more citrus and a heavy dose of Iso E super. Nice enough not outstanding though.

at first smell reminds me of new bought chinese plastic flip flops :)) but i like it!
