Light Blue Pour Homme Summer Vibes

Summer Vibes brings the Light Blue line back to its roots. I am a big fan of Light Blue Eau Intense so I was excited for this release. The opening is unmistakably similar to Light Blue Eau Intense, rather than Light Blue Forever or Italian Love. Gone is the grapefruit note, which has been replaced by a pleasant green note. The green note reminds me of Acqua Di Gio EDP although not quite as sharp. As it dries down, the Cypress becomes more pronounced. Summer Vibes has toned down the sea notes but hasn't completely removed what made Eau Intense great. The added green notes make it smoother, less sharp, less salty, but no less fresh. The smell reminds me of being in Italy, walking through a lemon grove perched up on the cliffs above the sea. Performance seems to be good but it is not as long lasting as its predecessors. That said, more people seem to notice this one on me compared to Eau Intense. Some may find it too similar to Eau Intense to warrant a purchase. Nevertheless I would say that the added green note makes Summer Vibes more versatile and balanced. The bottle is beautiful and deserves mentioning. Overall, an excellent addition to the line which will be great in the high heat of the coming summer.

This is Light Blue reinterpreted in a blue genre instead of an aquatic. Gone are the ocean accords and replaced with a lot more ambroxan, ISO E Super and patchouli in the base. The opening smells very close to Versace Dylan Blue and then bit and pieces of the Light Blue DNA starts coming through in the mid. The dry-down is very ambroxan heavy. It's really a big departure from the typical citrus heavy opening that has made Light Blue so iconic. This smells like it is more related to ADG Profumo and Dylan Blue than a Light Blue flanker (Alberto Morillas did made those two after all), where the citrus plays a supporting role. Projection and sillage are mild-moderate and longevity is above average. I can see Dolce and Gabbana trying to cash in the successes of the blue genre where K failed. IMO Light blue Eau Intense is still king.

Light Blue pour Homme Summer Vibes embodies the essence of a summer vacation along the Italian coast. Light and well-suited for hot weather, it shares approximately 60% of its DNA with Light Blue pour Homme Eau Intense, yet it carries a greener and more invigorating character. The fragrance offers moderate projection and longevity, making it subtle and non-intrusive. The bottle features an elegant, rectangular design reminiscent of the classic line but is distinguished by a traditional Majolica print in blue and white, turning it into a work of art that reflects authentic Italian heritage and craftsmanship.

In my opinion, Summer Vibes is the kind of fragrance you wear for yourself just to enjoy or to smell clean if someone happens to get close enough. It has a very intimate sillage with low projection, so it’s not a loud scent. But honestly, it smells incredible to me. It feels classy, elegant, and masculine, with just a touch of playfulness. The opening hits with a sweet lemon that blends perfectly with the cypress. For me, the mid and dry down stay pretty consistent. Slightly soapy, with a vibe that reminds me of the tea note from Imagination, and faint whispers of that sweet lemon from the start. To put it simply: Summer Vibes is a classy/safe scent that will offend nobody.

A lot of the reviews are giving this an "ok" or "dislike" rating for the wrong reasons. It is true that it's very similar to eau Intense, and that it's very much a variation on the original Light Blue. However, when reviewing a fragrance I think it's important to consider it on it's own. While I have used many Light Blue variants in the past this is the only one that I own, and I give it an 8/10 assuming that you don't already have Light Blue. I think it would not be worth buying if you already have LB, but its 100% worth it as your only one. It's very woody and casual, but it doesn't smell cheap or generic. A great fragrance for the beach, or a day out with friends.
