L'Imperatrice Limited Edition

First off.... I have the Bright pink juice bottle of the Limited edition with the bright pink packaging/box. My bottle also says “Limited Edition”. So please be sure that I am reviewing based on this version and not the OG bottle that I see a lot of reviews below mentioning. The opening is zesty, sour, tart fruit. Strawberries and fresh, green watermelon that are not yet ripe enough to eat. It comes off sharp upon first impression especially if you are not ready for it. But please... I beg you... wait for it!!! I don’t know how they did it but, the sour strawberries literally ripen to juicy, sweet red with your body heat while it sits on your skin... give it time. All the while surrounded by a prominent rose that also goes from green to jammy and in full bloom. This, with clean, slightly soapy musk, sweet florals like peony and creamy, powdery magnolia, there is a fresh juicy, fruit and creme fraîche combo to this fragrance. Watermelon is really NOT a dominant player here for me while on my skin, personally. The watermelon provides an aquatic feel but that’s about it. I mostly just get juicy strawberries and aquatic rose. I was expecting to get the smokiness in the drydown based on the notes, but that did not happen. Which kind of left me disappointed. Nonetheless, I was not expecting to enjoy this because it’s not a scent profile I usually go for. Dominant fruit and/ or rose scents are hit and miss for me. However, I am warming up to it. I look forward to wearing this in the summer! I love this especially right after a shower!!! Feminine, Floral, Juicy, Fruity, and Refreshing. Edit: I feel that if you own the OG, you probably don’t need to have this unless you are looking for something more floral. I find the OG more fizzy and effervescent than this. And this more shampooey than the OG. I own both and love them both for different reasons. The only difference besides those mentioned above is the floral vs fruity aspect. If you want more of an ”in your face” tart fruit, go with the OG. If you want more floral with your fruit, go with Limited Edition. Been wearing for a few days now. And the deepest of its drydown on skin is almost exactly like Q EDP which I also own. A total surprise!!! I have to wonder if Q was inspired by the very last stages of L’Imperatrice’s (limited edition) drydown.

The watermelon note is bright and airy, but importantly — not juvenile and not gourmand. It doesn’t smell like candy or a body spray. It smells like a perfume. A polished, lightly aquatic, slightly ozonic fruity floral that floats rather than shouts. The strawberry and florals give it lift, while the musk grounds everything just enough to keep it feeling grown and put together. There’s something in the blend — maybe the airy musk or that soft, slightly smoky undertone — that gives me a subtle 90s nostalgia. Not in a dated way, but in that clean, confident, “first warm day” kind of way. This feels like spring stepping forward and gently promising that summer is close behind. It’s breezy, feminine, and incredibly easy to wear. The projection is soft but noticeable — it floats in the air rather than forming a heavy cloud. If you’re looking for a fruity floral that feels light, fresh, and wearable without tipping into sugary territory, this is beautiful. The short: Scent Profile: fruity, floral, fresh, young, casual Performance: lasting power moderate to low on skin, longer on clothes, projection arm's length Value for money: OK, maybe a bit pricey for what it is so best acquired from discounters for less. The long: Judging by the name I was expecting something a bit more regal or mature that you would wear for a formal occasion, but it turns out to be a fun and youthful scent perfect for outdoors in the sun, so a bit of a misnomer I guess but that's alright. On me it's a fresh, juicy watermelon scent laced with tart berries and soft flowers (I get mostly peonies) that is yummy and addictive, and thankfully I didn't get the dreaded BO smell that so many are describing. It could be because of the reaction with our skin's pH, so I suggest wearing it on clothes instead of the neck or wrist. That way I find it stays perfectly pleasant with lasting power up to 5 hours, while on skin it's about 3 hours. Projection is about arm's length with a small but noticeable scent trail. Overall it's pretty nice and should be an easy reach for hot days, but the price is a bit up there so if you want to save some cash it's best to buy at a discounters. Try sampling if possible, as the tart berry accord in this (which some people equate with the BO smell) could be a deal breaker for you. p/s: I've sampled the original and this is only marginally different, so if you have that one there's no need for this, unless you're a collector that is.

I finally found a tester of this perfume at Ulta. This is so close to L'Imperatrice 3 that it is hard to distinguish - unless you are testing these side by side on your arms. I LOVE this fragrance for summer -- it is as refreshing as a Jolly Rancher candy, and just as mouthwatering! YUM! This whole line is something that my junior high self would have loved... yes, it is a slightly juvenile, but it is a lot of fun! I would have been doing cart wheels for these perfumes! They are so much fun! Launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Nathalie Lorson. Top notes are Watermelon and Strawberry; middle notes are Pink Peony, Magnolia, Damask Rose and Cyclamen; base notes are Musk, Woody Notes, Sandalwood and Smoke. -------------- This only lasts an hour or two on my skin, so I have been trying to find something that is in this same fragrance genre that will last longer. I think I have finally found something that is this same family of perfumes that is almost as much fun -- Coach Floral Blush - which is like the Monet version of L'Imperatrice/L'Imperatrice 3 -- it is a little bit softer, easier to wear at the office or in enclosed spaces such as when you are in a crowd at the theater, sporting event, etc... This has similar fruity notes, but is slightly more toned down and polished. Together, these could be a great spring/summer signature.

As another reviewer has noted, this is the newer, limited edition formulation which is notably sweeter than the original L'imperatrice 3. I have both, and although I enjoy the first one, this one is definitely my preference. It is a lovely, watery, light fragrance that suits the hottest temperatures of summer beautifully. I wear this exclusively as a daytime fragrance, and it's not a sexy fragrance IMO. It's light, and fruity, and playful. I know there are those who think of it as youthful, but I find it suitable for all ages. On my skin it lasts pretty well (5 to 6 hours or longer) with moderate sillage. It doesn't have the tart rhubarb and spicy pink pepper notes that so many people found polarizing in the original one, and the addition of the strawberry and peony notes are what sweetens this one. People who loved the OG L'imperatrice might find this one disappointing, but overall I feel it is probably more universally appealing to many people. Although I do appreciate the original, I have to be in a very specific mood to wear it, whereas this one is more of an easy warm weather reach for me. It's not what I'd consider a safe blind buy, but if light and fruity fragrances are your vibe, you might want to get your nose on this one.

I absolutely adored this fragrance so much after wearing it twice, I went back to Scentbox and ordered a full bottle they are really hard to find anywhere else. The smell is utterly divine. This is simply one of the most juiciest fruity florals I have smelled in awhile. The watermelon/strawberry up front gives it that sweet acidic kick without using the normal orange/lemon smells while the heart has that jammy rose that mingles with the cyclamen/jasmine keep it from being just another overly sweet floral. It leans into that fresher floral, which I love. When the dry down finally hits, you still smell that light floral along with the musk. To my nose. It still stays light and fresh. I never quite get the smoke. That may come later on as it macerates. My only gripe is that the silage is arms length and the longevity on the skin only lasts a few hours, longer when sprayed on clothes. As for me, a scent this lovely I don’t mind reapplying more often.

I love the scent so much ...sweet, tart, aquatic and fresh! It was on offer in a shop near me and the guy sprayed it on a card and like a total sucker I bought it 5 minutes later! The only problem is that it is an edt ...a fresh, summary edt and as is typical of these it is not that long lasting. I’m not regretting my purchase as I got 100ml for £30 but (as is my opinion for most high-end edt’s) it’s probably not worth it at full price. I think I’ll probably get through it before summer is over! If anybody knows a similar perfume that’s stronger please let me know! *UPDATE* I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now and whilst it is nice ...upon reflection I think the real reason liked it so much is because it smells like old school herbal essences shampoo (I mean ...that’s no bad thing, they smell great!). It’s juicy and uplifting but reeeeeallly doesn’t last or project well at all.

I have the relaunched 50 ml version. I bought this on sale for around 50 dollars. I bought it because it was a unique scent. NOTES: The notes that stood up to me the most are definitely smokey, musk, rose, gentle floral with some watermelon. This does also smell a bit like Shampagne. LONGEVITY: It lasts around 4 hours on my skin with intimate silage. Kinda disappointing considering the price. THIS REMINDS ME OF: I think this fragrance reads as a night out at a club and an indie bar while wearing rhinestones and drinking Shampagne and then going out on the street for a smoke. Perfect for summer nightlife. OTHER: I love collecting unique scents and this is definitely one of them. It's very smokey but not in a bad way at all. You will stand out when wearing this. I would still say it's a non-offensive scent. I think it's completely overpriced unless on discount. I would rate this a 9/10

I have been wearing this on and off since 2012, it’s a dreamy fresh watery fruit scent. Think fresh watermelon and kiwi fruit salad with musky and aquatic notes. It’s summer evenings in a bottle. It settles to a fruity musk. Recently I bought this after not wearing it for a few years, I believed that they changed the formulation a little? I don’t like that there are more strawberry and rose notes, it gives the whole thing a cough syrup vibe. It was better before. Edit - although I’m wearing this again after a few years and it has changed slightly form how it was before - it still retains its old DNA well and I can still smell this on my clothes at the end of the day, which exceeds my expectations for an EDT. Now that spring and summer are around the corner I literally want to wear this every single day. I really hope that D&G never discontinue this!

i was very sad when limperatrice 3 was discontinued, then i found it and grabbed it without thinking much, the former one was a must have for me..i loved that. comparing to no3 this limited edition one isn't as much long lasting, and doesn't have that strong punch as much, still i love it, it's reminiscent of number 3 but is a bit mellower. both are like a glass of chilled juicy lemon kiwi watermelon cocktail that you'll look for in hot humid days for quenching your thirst, i can detect a bit of rose musk in the background too..i still love no3 better and luckily i didn't fininsh the bottle completely, I'll use this limited ones randomly and I'll keep the no3 one for very special days

many of the reviews of this fragrance are of the original l’imperatrice not the limited edition. i have both and they are definitely different. the og has more of a sour fruity profile which is very pleasant but the limited edition (this one) is much sweeter and has a stronger floral profile while still maintaining that fruity profile. it is not sour like the original but instead sweeter with a nice strawberry note that is not in the original. i love every one of the l’imperatrice line however my favorite would have to be l’imperatrice royale. this is a very nice light summery fragrance with more depth than the original because of the smoke note. 10/10 recommend!

I got a bottle of this perfume on Amazon (Sold and sent by them) but I'm not sure what version is it, it doesn't have the number 3 on the label nor "Limited Edition" written on the bottle, and the batch code is 8 digits, not 6, so I'm not really sure but sold and sent by Amazon means it's legit right? I double checked that... Anywaaays I tried on my skin and it's very fresh watermelon and clean florals, but the watermelon note has stayed on my skin all this time (it's been 2 hours) it projects close to the skin but when I move around I get a whiff of it and it's soo fruity and fresh, perfect for daily use and performs the best on hot days.

This is my second review, first is from last December. Last month I've bought 100 ml as I love it. I got strawberry melon mixture, just beautiful juicy fruity- ozonic- aquatic scent with peonies..says lady who doesn't prefer fruity fragrances. It has short longevity but I don't care, I enjoy reapply every now and then through a day, 2 or 3 sprays as I enjoy the opening, it makes me smile :-) It's like a promise to summer, wearing it in May and another gem creation from Mrs. Nathalie Lorson. And also a bottle is simple and classy.

Since childhood I've always reached for BIG juicy/ green scents. I live in a place where it's warm and sunny every single day. I LOOVEEEEEEE L'Imperatrice! I tell all of my family to buy me bottles for Christmas every year so I'll never run out. UGH, It is very *obviously* juicy, citrusy, bright, green.... but on my skin it dries down to theeeee most intoxicating delicious warm unique juicy smell in the entire worlddddddwtffff My friends know me for this, and I get so so many compliments about how uplifting and unique it is.

It's very similar to Avon Always (wearing them wrist to wrist), the green one from the first triology Today-Tomorrow-Aways. I got a lot of kiwi, but only time to time strawberries, idk for a reason why is that... As a fruity fragrance (fruity perfumes are not my favourite genre) is very juicy and I almost pushed an Order button but I realized I still own half of bottle of Avon always and I'm going to use that one and then decide to purchase this or not. PS: If you are looking for strawberries try Womanity pour Elles :-)

Hey all Limperatrice lovers. I finally bought myself limited edition! What can i say they obviously share the same dna but they are different too! I was surprised to learn that i prefer the OG as its more fruity and gives me kinda peachy vibe after some time on my skin, while limited edition is less obviously fruity. I think i feel peony in it, but I don’t get any strawberry. Will see how limited edition will grow on me in different weather, but for now i prefer the OG!

A fresh, sweet fruity scent that is perfect for warm weather days. I would wear this as a casual scent but it is pretty enough for a day formal event. But underneath, IMO, is an enigmatic accord that’s kinda onion~y or dirty. I quite like it because it doesn’t take away from the juicy fruity opening but it kinda tames it so it’s not an overpowering basic light scent. Again, my opinion..and it will be in my frequent reaches. ONE MONTH LATER: I don’t like it😩

I wanted this perfume for while based on reading the notes. I finally acquired it and I am so happy that I did!!! this perfume is fresh ,sweet ,unique and playful but is also somewhat sophisticated. I love it so much this may be my new signature scent and even with the watermelon notes you would think this would only be a good summer scent but this is so fresh it makes it great for all seasons! And good for layering with vanilla and other fresh scents.
