L'Imperatrice Royale

I agree it smells like the OG but more sophisticated, less effervescent, and with a deeper, more candied, robust watermelon (although not listed) that is significantly present and just as delicious. The first spray was a beautiful tart, crisp cranberry with a slightly green edge. More along the lines of cranberry mixed with strawberry than cranberry alone, with the addition of a thicker, sweeter, juicier, riper pink watermelon, absolutely befitting of the bottle color! I find it interesting because the Limited version removed the Rhubard and Kiwi notes and replaced them with Strawberry. So in this instance, rhubard & kiwi in the OG feel replaced by cranberry, strawberry in Royale. The watermelon in here almost gave me a watermelon bubblegum scent, like the kind from Extra bubblegum brand, which actually smells really good straight from the package. But that didn’t last too long if you’re worried about a bubblegum note sticking around. It feels like it’s there temporarily to add an underlying layer of sweetness. The sweetness stays, but the bubblegum vibe dissipates, and then the woods gently come out to play. I also find the dry down to have something creamy to it, which is not anything I have experienced in the OG or Limited versions. Overall I find Royale to be creamier with a smoother blend of notes, while the OG is more sparkly with a champagne effervescent feel with a touchy of fruit shampoo. I feel like Royale is a more intense watermelon note flanker. A bit sweeter, instead of as tart, with a woody dry down that leans a touch creamy. Just gorgeous!!! I only wish that if they were taking it down a more sophisticated vs playful route, that they would have bothered to make it an EDP! As far as longevity and sillage... we will have to play around with it and wear it in full. Right now I have been testing on my skin throughout the day. This is my first impression. I purchased a 100ml bottle. As far as the other flankers go.... They last forever on clothes and on skin until the next morning, especially in the crook of my arm. So I’ve never had a problem feeling like they are fleeting for the price. L’Imperatrice Royale does not disappoint! It’s a love. 💗

So to preface; I have been wearing the original L’imperatrice since high school(more than 10 years ago). It’s one perfume that I finish and restock on a fairly regular basis. I was browsing notes on this site and discovered that there was another variation of l’imperatrice, called Royale. So I ordered a travel spray because I read the reviews on here where people say it’s smells like the OG but more grown up. I absolutely love it. One spray I was hooked and I immediately ordered a full size bottle. Much like what everyone else says, it smells VERY similar, and though there’s no notes of watermelon listed it still very much has that scent to it. If you love the original version of this I guarantee you’ll love Royale. Everyone saying it’s more sophisticated is correct. The original is light and playful, Royale is still has that light playfulness to it but also much more grown and sexier.

I'mperatrice Royale by Dolce & Gabbana was the only fragrance that truly stood out on my latest trip to Sephora. The power and longevity are impressive—it lasts all day without fading into the background. I’ve never loved cranberry in a mainstream perfume (though I adore it in indie oils), but here, it’s handled with sophistication and depth. It’s juicier than a floral but has way more backbone than your typical fruity fragrance. To my nose, it smells nothing like the OG L’Imperatrice—which sadly goes vinegary on my skin. Royale, on the other hand, is vibrant, confident, and completely wearable. It’s also refreshingly unique. I’m so excited to finally smell different from the endless trail of blossoms, fancy, fancy, rosewater, and marshmallow clouds out there. This one’s in a category of its own—and I’ll be reaching for it often.

Smells similar to the original 3 L’Imperatrice but it’s a bit deeper, denser, and intense. I could see this being the night version or a version good to wear in cooler weather. It’s still a bright fruity floral but it’s not as aquatic, light and fresh as the original. If you like the OG, you will like this version. Only $110 for 100ml as well and with today’s fragrance prices, that’s a good price. Silage and performance were good. Especially for a fruity floral with minimal base notes. I don’t notice any woodiness, and I don’t notice it in original version either,

They were putting this out in my local Sephora, and I was able to spray and test. It smells soo good. If you like the original, I can’t imagine you won’t like this. It still has the OG dna. Watermelon isn’t listed but to me, it must be in there because I’m getting sparkly, watermelon jolly rancher. Sparkling cranberry champagne. Delicious. Only downside is it turns to skin scent in 3 hours. On clothes I can still smell it.

I enjoy this perfume so much!! It's smells like a watermelon-kiwi non-sugary juicy. It's sweet but also light, watery and juicy. The cranberry note is sparkly and the azalea it's well rounded and water. I love it and it has good silage and lasting power for a designer light fruIty floral :D Also it's a simple kind of scent but I don't mind as long as it's fruity, fresh and juicy.

Tested this in store today on my skin and tester strip. It's a sweet watermelon fragrance. The wood doesn't make the fragrance woody, it just takes the fragrance out of the ultra-fresh category that the original L'imperatrice is in. Still bright, juicy, fresh. Plus side, it doesn't have that B.O element the original has

Okay, we see you, D&G. You did a fantastic job on this. It’s creamier, more complex than the original but retains a lot of the same character. The cranberry is tart but sweet. Buying a full bottle during a sell. If you like the OG, I’m betting you’ll love this one too. A flanker worth checking out.

Those notes are piquing my interest, especially the cranberries! I have a decant of the original L 'Imperatrice 3 and I love the kiwi and watermelon notes in this one! It was also pleasantly affordable to purchase, so I'm hoping the price for Royale isn't too bad!

You’re killing me Smalls!!! Fell in love with the OG, Limited, and now I must have this to complete my collection. I know I am extremely late to the L’Imperatrice party. But I’m irrevocably invested now. Take my money, please. 😭

Love love love this perfume, smells like melon-y addictive candy. Make me want to dress up girly and have a picnic or something. Only problem is it does NOT last more than even 2 hours on me. :(

Smells like Jolly Ranchers or a similar candy. Slightly creamier than the original L'Imperatrice with a slight cranberry note. Gosh, I want to bathe in this.

I absolutely love this. Sour berries infused into fragrant floral candy on a bed of soft cedar.

It may be marketed to women, but I love this stuff. It's so sweet but not cloyingly so.

Smells like a soft cranberry, really really nice. It just doesn't last very long.

I purchased the travel size eau de toilette to give this one a trial run. Rather than cranberry, the top note smelled of grapefruit to me, which I liked. Initially, it smelled as if I were fresh out of the shower, which was nice, but I was iffy in the beginning, thinking it might dry down to a more astringent smell. I was surprised, however, when it morphed soon into a powdery, candy floral that's light yet warm and uncomplicated. While it won't replace my signature scent, L'Imperatrice Royale will be a nice change on a casual day or summer evening when I want things simple. As long as the scent doesn't turn on me, as they sometimes do, I'll keep it in the rotation.

I haven't smelled the original L'Imperatrice yet (I know), but I can say that this flanker is a very pleasant fruity floral! The cranberry is the strongest note to me, but I can smell a bit of the watermelon that is supposedly from the original's DNA. The woody notes don't come off as woody, they just add a creaminess to the dry down. In a way, it reminds me of a reinvented version of Versace Bright Crystal - L'Imeratrice Royale is much less watery, but the pomegranate from Bright Crystal is so similar to the cranberry of Royale. The woods in each give off the same creamy dry down to me, although the florals in Royale make it more modern and grown-up. Very nice!

This fragrance is like a jolly rancher who got a promotion. I think the mild woody base matures it nicely. Smells like candy without being juvenile or sickly sweet. A vibrant spring/summer scent that is suitable for the office, a summer picnic, or a coffee date. It’s not a very complex fragrance, but I don’t think it needs to be, i carry the travel size in my main purse because if i forget a fragrance i like more before leaving the house i know i will smell nice wearing this.

I agree that this is deeper and stronger than the OG but still smells very similar. I do get cranberry, I smell rhubarb for sure, maybe kiwi as well, but no watermelon at all. It’s nice, but I’m not crazy about the original so I’m not crazy about this one either, it’s just slightly better
