Q by Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Parfum Intense

Opens with a fresh yet smooth floral citrus of lemon and mandarin, and then a really beautiful, juicy cherry note arrives at my nose and delights my brain. It’s a little shampooey, in a good way - bright and fresh like a cherry yoghurt. But that soon changes as it settles into the heart. Here, the soft florals come through a little more but well blended amongst the other notes. There’s a subtle woody amber pulling from the base that adds a warm, soft femininity to the scent profile without losing its freshness. The heliotrope comes through to my nose in the dry down and it’s perfectly utilised here, not overpowering. It’s adds a sweet fluffy vanilla floral to the base, slightly powdery, that draws on the cherry scent with a tiny hint of creamy marzipan but doesn’t lean into dominant bitter almond or medicinal territory. This a very easy to wear cherry. It’s more of a velvety fruity floral than gourmand. I would definitely recommend it for those that like the smell of cherries but find cherry forward and almond accords too much on their skin. As a seasonal wearer, I thought this would’ve been a wintery perfume because of the dark cherry note, but I think it’s a very versatile fragrance that can be worn anytime of the year. Initially, I would’ve liked the cherry note in the opening to hang around a bit more, but on reflection as I’m enjoying the scent bubble of the dry down, that’s what makes this a beautiful perfume. Rather than smelling like a cherry forward body shop product, Q is a delicate blended aroma in its own right. It’s nothing ground breaking, but it’s an extremely pleasing velvety, cherry fruity floral with a sensual yet soft and clean amber, that’s suitable for everyday wear. I like it a lot and I’m looking forward to wearing it some more.

I have really weird relationship with this perfume. When it came out I got a tester. I put it on my hand without any expectations (I don't like D&G Q EDP). Later that day I kept on sniffing it and it lasted the whole day: and it was seducing, beautiful, mesmorising, I wanted to bathe in this beauty. Next day the same. I fell in love! I immediately went to buy full bottle and got one in Muller for 200EUR. Original. I was so happy and sprayed myself generously. And I lost it. The smell is very beautiful indeed, but after spraying it on me I could not sense it at all. Only on my hand, the same place where I applied the tester. I purchased one more bottle as it was on sale and now I have it only for me. Any perfume I put on me... i just spray a little bit of D&G Q intense on one place on my hand (and it is not the wrist, it is between thumb and index finger) and I enjoy this dreamy cherry smell.

I have to admit I find scent buying a rather forced experience within a pharmacy or high street shop where lots of people swarm closely and will sell anything to save their jobs, so much so I stopped buying perfumes and looked into making my own. I checked out the Dolce and Gabbana Q EDP August 2024 and am very happy with the perfume it is worth the money and the bottle is very pretty and will look good on a bedside table. I would wear it on a evening rather than day the scent is really subtle not overpowering and lasting, I am really impressed. There are hundreds of perfume on the market with a hideous cocktail of cancer causing ingredients made in a lab that nobody should ever buy yet they are stocked in Boots and Superdrug who should be protecting our health.

I love this one. It was one of the first perfumes in my collection, and I’ll probably repurchase it once I run out. The scent feels fresh and youthful to me. It’s perfect for spring and summer, but it works well in the fall too. At first, the citrus is very noticeable and can come across as slightly medicinal, but that quickly fades. As it develops on the skin, the cherry really comes through and leaves you smelling amazing. In my experience, it’s long-lasting on the skin, but the sillage fades over time. After about 6–7 hours of wear, the scent sits closer to the skin without much of a trail — but it’s still clearly there. I usually wear it during the daytime, but I’ve worn it at night as well. I think it’s a very versatile perfume.

This fragrance feels like the one I’ve been waiting for: a well-balanced blend of my favorite notes in a fresh and almost sensual way. As someone who loves the mix of orange and jasmine but often finds such perfumes too sweet or soapy-like, this one stands out for its light and well thought composition. The amber and woody base, a combination I’ve also always adored but usually found in warmer fragrances, adds depth without heaviness, making it well suitable for daywear. It’s a scent that finally gets everything just right.

I like the Original Q, except for its laughable longevity. But this intense? I REALLY like this. There’s no citrus in this which is strange. These flankers now a days are misleading. This “Intense” Q is giving Jergens Cherry lotion vibes. I am not saying this to be funny or an insult. Honestly, i really love this fragrance, even more than the OG Q. All season, non offensive, easy to wear fragrance. Gets my approval

A fresh, crisp citrus opening beautifully blended with cherry notes. The latter remain present throughout, gradually wrapped in calm, sweeter base notes. The sillage is initially moderate but settles quite quickly to an intimate closeness on the skin, while the longevity is excellent. The composition envelops with a subtle, pleasant veil for several hours, and with one reapplication, lasts all day.

The first cherry scent I actually enjoy wearing. I tried other perfumes before- looking for sth non-boozy and lacking almond/marzipan note. Finally found it! I love the citrusy opening, then the cherry note which is not very prominent. Oh! and the heliotrope makes is so cosy. Wish it had better longevity and sillage. Still it is signature worthy.

This stuff is amazing, and I'm admitting it as a male. As a matter of fact, I even like it more than any version of K, which i did not fall in love with. Flowery cherry, which reminds me of Armani Eau de Nuit mixed with base of Stronger with You somehow, probably heliotrope makes this effect

Cherry and powdery amber combine to make sort of a fantasy cherry blossom note. "Mature" both in an office-appropriate and in a sey way. I could still catch whiffs of it after about 7 hours when I did a touch-up.

I’m in love with this perfume! It reminds me of a sunny summer day at the beach. The longevity and sillage are perfectly fine for me, so i don’t really know what the others are talking about.

It's not like a regular Q What a divine smell! Perfect mood booster! But longevity and projection? As it's pretty common these days - it's a joke! Sad, really sad

It's a wonderful scent. Simple, a bit sweet a smoothly woody easy grab perfume for daytime and all year around.

This one made me realise I LOVE CHERRY! The og is so light and alcoholic, this version is way better and with more noticeable cherry note, I think it’s the black cherry that I love not the regular one It smells so nostalgic to me in weird way, like I had Déjà vu when I smelled it, it’s the kind of fragrance that makes you wonder where do I remember this scent from? After deep thinking I figured out that reminds me of my childhood but I still can’t figure out why lol It’s so heartachingly beautiful, it makes you feel life is great even if it wasn’t, it absorbs all the stress you have no jokes, I think it’s a joker that can be worn every season night or morning and there’s something so innocent about it I can’t explain how but I love it. It’s like a family trip in the spring to somewhere that has flowers and fresh air away from the city. One of the rare 10/10 perfumes to me.

My sister is very picky when it comes to perfume. She was using Aqua Divina by Bvlgari till they discontinued it. I got her this as its replacement and so far she hasn’t said it bad so I guess it a win. It starts bright and light and floral. Very airy and clean. As it dries down, I get a cherry, amber woody scent with the florals moving to the back. It’s very different and if you give it a good sniff when it’s drying down, kinda feels like your smelling ambroxan. It has a similar nose tickling sensation. Very different from the more usual feminine targeted perfumes. Performance is definitely on the lighter side. It’s not a crazy projector but it does have a small scent bubble. Longevity is on the mid to long depending on the outside temperature. Overall, I’d say this is a nice spring or warmer temperature scent. Very light, airy, bright and pretty.

Like stated on the sample it is dark cherry - amber - heliotrope. This is how it smells on me. Amber makes it genderless and deep. I can imagine a male wearing this with success. Amber is supporting the beautiful dark cherry note. The fruit is fresh, ready to be eaten, juicy. In the background there is a powdery, vanilla aspect that is floral - that's heliotrope. Maybe a touch of lemon sparkles the top, I can also feel a drop of jasmine. A smoky cherry with floral heart and ambery feel. It is pretty and likeable. If only I would perceive it as more feminine I would like it more. But it is intriguing. It smells better in the evening with second application during the day. It deepens reapplied on itself, which is a nice feature for a scent that I feel around me for ~6 hours.

🍒 This reminds me of the original L’Imperatrice, but it is more complex and lasting. To me, it starts with a sour cherry note, then powdery heliotrope, and the amber at the end is soft. I don’t find this heavy or masculine at all. I think it is a perfect daytime summer perfume. I have been looking for a cherry perfume that was not super artificial or sickly sweet and this is definitely that. Fresh, but sweet, and even though it is intense, it is not a powerhouse. I think some people do not like heliotrope which could make it masculine? Heliotrope, to me, smells a little hippy-like, maybe because Lush uses it a lot and it’s reminiscent for me. However, this does not go to the danger zone in powdery or dirtiness. This is perfectly fresh throughout even with the heliotrope.

The deep syrupy Cherry found in ‘Q parfum’ has been one of my unexpected fixations of the summer. Somehow as a cherry lover the line has slipped under my nose, literally. This and the OG are much less Cherry focused, but it’s nearly as interesting. They remind me of a Cherry’d up Issey Miyake offering, this obviously being the bolder variant. Refreshing and clean but uniquely accented by the fruity notes. Fresh Cherry fragrances usually dont work for me as they come off like cheap hair care products, but this is just very well done. To my nose this and the OG really could be a unisex fragrance. Unfortunately most men (likely insecure ones) will be lost to the feminine/queen marketing, and miss out on these fun lil gems. 🤩

Very interesting and beautiful scent. I love that it’s not sweet and not too floral. I love the orange, jasmine and amber notes in it. The cherry note is barely noticeable to my nose, which is good (I’m not a cherry note fan). The performance could be much better. It lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin and it’s mostly a skin scent. Not really a show stopper or anything like that. I wish it lasted longer and be a real Intense version. Sadly, it’s not. Just another weak scent that doesn’t last. This perfume also reminds me one of my all time favourite perfume by Narciso Rodriguez Musk Noir, just more sweet and more fruity. 8/10 stars just because it’s beautiful and unique.

Love this so much! I find it hard to find a good cherry perfume, they are all either very candy like or super syntethic smelling. but this one is so nice <3 it is such a deep and creamy cherry scent that is sweet and a little bitter but without being overpowering. The vanilla, amber and almond make this a very cozy and creamy scent, and it blends so well with the cherry. The scent is very seductive, warm, sweet, dark and mysterious. My favourite perfume for going out. I would 100% say that this is one of the best cherry scent out there!

Q by D&G Intense is solid, but not mindblowing. I don't usually like cherry scents as they tend to be medicinal and slightly smokey, but this is pleasant and wearable. The cherry here is deep and more sensual than the original. Still, the fragrance is somewhat light. The longevity and projection is moderate. It eventually dries down to a skin scent, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Like others have said, this is a good option for a date where you'll be in close proximity with someone special! ;-)

I bought this yesterday at Ulta. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking for me but my husband really liked it. It reminds me a lot of the “cherry almond” lotion from jergens. I think that would layer beautifully with this fragrance. I can’t say about the longevity because I think I go nose blind to it but others can still smell it on me. I layered it with “tart deco” by Snif and it definitely prolonged this yummy cherry scent.

It's really nice, but it isn't unique by any means, and honestly reminds me a lot of Seductive Red for women by Guess. I would say it's a bit sweeter, with a really nice depth to it that Seductive Red doesn't have. It also settles into something really enticing after about an hour, but by then the cherry is almost completely gone; for the price I wouldn't say it's worth it.

Beautiful perfume. Once I tried it, it reminded me a lot of the original Q and Narcisso Rodriguez Musc Noir - just add the fruity notes, the cherry note. Unfortunately it doesn’t last long on my skin and the projection is not the best either. After 4-5 hours I can barely smell it anymore. I prefer longer lasting perfumes. Great for spring and summer.

I really like this scent, a fresh, almost herbal cherry with powdery undertones. It’s really cute. I bought the largest bottle for $200 on impulse, and while I really like it, I have to say the spillage and longevity on it is somewhat disappointing- definitely not up to EDP standards. I don’t get any of the “intensity” at all, but it is lovely.

Pretty... skin scent within a few minutes. Warm and inviting. Surprised patchouli is not listed in the notes. It almost reminds me of Mon Guerlain Intense. Like, not love.. prob won't even buy the travel 10 ml. But not bad at all. Leather or suede note is the most prominent. Do not smell vanilla nor almond.

there's this one yoghurt with a sour cherry mousse that I really love and this smells exactly like that mousse in the opening! as it sits it starts to smell more unisex, reminding me of shaving foam or something. I like it but I was hoping for something sweeter and more feminine in the drydown.

I'm a bit disappointed with how quickly the cherry scent disappears and the overall longevity of the parfum, but the fragrance is good nevertheless. It opens with mostly cherry and amber, but quickly dies down into a light warm fresh scent.

Fresh, a bit sour and leaning masculine. I like it, but I don’t love it. It smelled nicer in the store, so I’ll probally store it for some months and let it develop. It is long lasting on my skin, 7-10 hours.

Interesting smell, delicate but with something intriguing

Hmm... I dunno. I feel like this sways a bit more herbal and masculine. I would love to smell this on a man instead, honestly. I may have my husband try it. When I say it leans masculine to me it’s because I am comparing it to the original which I do own and have grown to love. The OG was a grower not a show-er. It did not wow me upon first spray, I thought it was boring and meh, but over time, I slowly began to appreciate it and eventually love it. I thought a more intense version would amp up everything I loved in the OG, which I have to agree with other reviewers who say it reminded them of Cherry twizzlers, which I know very well because the twizzlers factory is literally in my home town and when you drive by it’s the most delicious scent. The OG is powdery fresh, sweet tart, Cherry with an airy, citrus twist, with wafts of some earthiness from gentle woods to ground it in the finish. But in the case of Q Intense, I got more of a soapy, herbal scent that overshadowed the cherry. And it also remained fairly linear throughout. Not a terrible thing but it didn’t evolve like the OG. Nonetheless, Intense wasn’t for me, but just may be a fit for the hubby. The more I consider it.... Q intense is what a man would smell like after his woman wearing the OG Q rubbed off on him.

In the beginning, it's fresh, sweet and deep at the same time. On my skin it doesn't smell medicinal at any point - it goes straight to dark cherry with a fresh, non-sour lemon - it's very sophisticated. And it is also warm in an ambery way. Very clean, non-offenaive, youthful, cheerful. I like it initially, but when it dries down, I get a smell of salty, almost musk wood notes... neither salt nor musk notes are listed here, but somehow it is what it kinda ends up smelling on me... I have tried it several times (have a sample), and thought "I like it!" at first, and "I don't really like it..." later. At first I didn't quite understand how to describe why I didn't like it, but it's because of the dry-down. That salty woody-musky base makes me a little nauseous... something about the woody notes here doesn't play well with my skin's chemistry... On my clothes it doesn't smell nice: very cloying and musky-salty right away.

I really like this! It's not at all what I expected from the listed notes and the relatively low ratings. I guess designer fragrances are held to a pretty high standard due to the price. On my skin, this actually doesn't smell like heliotrope, but rather like lilac - fresh lilac, and mild orange, and ambery, and green, like some kind of foliage... like it's the jasmine leaf and not flower that has been used in the perfume. I don't really smell the cherry. I, like don't smell the cherry AT ALL in this. Still, this is a really nice perfume. I currently only have a sample from the store, but I'm thinking of getting a decant. I also have to test this out on my clothes more to see what this will smell like. Edit: I do like this and it lasts well, however, I somehow get a little bit annoyed by it throughout the day, I think... I'll have to wear it mire and see why that may be.

This Intense one is better than the first formulation - more fruitful and cherry than before where it was so masculine and cedar-y to me. That one I related to a skin scent with invisible fruitiness. But it still feels so tacky and unpolished just so not my persona. Cherry alone is hard to nail without it becoming cloying in fragrance as I buy cherries regularly they don't put out much scent. It will last but I just don't want to smell like a cheapy shower gel. If that's the Heliotrope making it soapy that's too bad because I love that flower but it's such a miss here.

Freshly squeezed lemon, a little tart but not bitter or sour. The slightest hint of fresh but mildly sweet cherries to balance the lemons. There's a bit of powdery almonds accented to the cherries but the fragrance is thankfully more watery and fruity to balance that. Linear. Surprisingly lasts pretty long, 7+ hours, and projects decently.

I got this in a sample set, and I would rate it as a big nothing...it doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell like much. A little lemon with fruitiness underneath, then not much of a dry down at all. I got short longevity and intimate sillage with this one. I have zero interest in trying this again or purchasing a bottle.

The description and notes sounded gorgeous and I’ve been a fan of a few D&G fragrances in the past (The One, especially). The fragrance is quite pleasant - but on me, I don’t get much cherry- just powdery in a way that Gucci Guilty is powdery. These smell great on others, not on me. To me it’s a safe, feminine day scent.

Very similar to the OG, just quite a bit stronger. I did like the OG but thought it was too faint, Curiously, although this intense version does live up to its name, I don't really prefer it to the OG. The notes don't smell better amped up. I think I will pass on both versions of this scent.

A sexier version of her older sister. This is much more Cherry forward and Candy – like. Still has that wonderful DNA that I love so much unfortunately it’s just not as fun but if you want a light cherry as opposed to a syrupy one, this is your frag.

Shower gel/soap with a medicinal, powdery candied cherry smell. Not for me.

The cherry in this reminds me of Twizzlers candy and I can’t unsmell it.

Very different from the original Q, which was fresh and bright, albeit a bit boring. This one pulls very masculine. Any fruitiness from the cherry is overwhelmed by something reminiscent of cascalone, but is also a little smoky? Which isn't balanced or pleasant, even if you prefer unisex fragrances.

Smells like an extremely watered down version of Cherry Smoke by Tom Ford mixed with a little bit of male aftershave. Too masculine leaning for me.

It smells like those sports shower gels that also double as shampoo. I don't find it feminine at all.

Reminds me of Lattafa Khamrah. So quite masculine in my opinion.
