Rose The One

I actually picked this one out for myself and I decided to ask it for a gift because it was for an amazingly low price, and I thought the scent was quite wonderful. I know I really enjoy this perfume, but I can't yet tell if I like Rose The One, or if I love it. That will take a bit more time for me. EDIT: I LOOOOVE this :) Oh it took a little bit, but now I'm totally in love with this scent! What I can already tell is that this scent is very soft and elegant. It's classy in a youthful way. Rose The One makes me picture a young lady in a pastel colored dress walking around in a rose garden. Obviously I think of the rose garden because of the roses in this perfume, but I think what really makes it a garden instead of a rose bouquet, is the freshness the grapefruit note brings to this scent. I do very much like the adds for Rose The One, but I honestly don't think of Scarlett Johanson in a sensual setting at all. To me this scent is more innocent and pure than alluring. I think the bottle is stunning and I adore the rosegold color. I got the 30ml version and honestly the bottle looks like it could contain more than just the 30ml. Sometimes the small version bottles don't look as pretty as the bigger sizes which is really irrotating, but I really appricate that D&G didn't make the smaller bottles any less luxorius and expencive looking as the bigger ones. For me the most identifiable notes are obviously the rose as the most dominant scent, the fresh grapefruit and maybe the slightest bit of musk and some sort of white flowers, but I personally would have not been able to recognize it as peony. For me it's hard to say about the litchi, whis is voted here as the second main note because I don't actually know what litchi smells like. Rose the One is definitelly nonoffencive and innocently elegant. Very likable all in all.

:) :) D&G Rose the One is a fresh, airy, elegant, feminine rose scent, although that was not my first impression of it. When I first tried it after making a blind buy, I was unpleasantly surprised. I sprayed it once on the back of my hand. The scent I got was soooo strong and harsh that my eyes teared up. I was so bummed since I had been expecting a yummy, sweet fruity rose like most other perfumes with a litchi note. Then I went out. As I was driving, I noticed something smelling really good. I sniffed around and realized it was the perfume I just sprayed. I wore the perfume a couple times after that, and finally realize what this perfume is about. I think this perfume has a very concentrated formula, but the scent itself is very light and airy. I figure it was made so concentrated so that it keeps releasing its awesomeness throughout the day, hence it's a good quality perfume with good longevity and sillage. It easily lasts for 6 hours on my skin. The scent is very well-blended. There's rose in it, but it's not straight-up rose like the Paul Smith Rose. It smells like if you blend up an entire rose plant with its petals and vine, with a few lilies, some lemon peels, and a litchi. It's very balanced. It's a soft green floral with a hint of sweetness. Extremely pleasurable and elegant. This one, Paul Smith Rose and Roses De Chloe are my favorite rose trio. They each represents a different theme. I really love this perfume. It's a 10/10 on my scale. :) :)

W-O-W!! This fragrance is everything I was hoping it would be... and more! Here's my story:... I was looking for a floral perfume that would be gentle, fresh and womanly. I usually don't like floral perfume and I was motivated to find one that I would enjoy. I saw Rose The One for the first time on Fragrantica and thought the bottle looked sophisticated (and Scarlett Johansen is stunning in the advertisement!). So I decided to order a small bottle online. I received in the mail few days ago and was so excited when I opened the box. The box and bottle are simply gorgeous!!! The first whiff was disappointing. I thought I had smelled several perfumes like this one before... So I jumped in the shower today and thought I would give it a real try. I put it on and fell completely in love, head over heels!!! It smells like real fresh cut roses, but I also get a hint of white floral, with a teeny tiny touch of citrus and sweetness. It is definitely not overpowering, and I feel like my nose is already getting used to this fragrance, which is a good sign that it suits me. The down side is that I don't smell it as well as I did 10 minutes ago... Can't wait for my man to get home and tell me what he thinks!

I think this is a lovely perfume for those who like the original The One but want a fruitier and softer fragrance. The initial sprays had that lychee note that D&G does so well and then a powdery sweetness similar to a honey note sets in (from the vanilla)- the rose is only barely there though. I think the fruits overpower what rose there is. If you are seeking a complete rose you might be disappointed. Rose the one is a sensuous and romantic day perfume where as The One is an outspokenly sexy evening fragrance- however there isn't too much of a need to have both of them since the base is that same powdery vanilla. Rose the One lasted about 4-5 hours with moderate sillage in the first two, then soft for the rest. It is a refreshing fruity/floral/powdery that I would like to have if fate graces me with it, but not entirely one I'd seek to have as I own the original. Edit: I'd like to add that during the summer it became a spicy rose on me. Not my cup of tea. I prefer The One over this as it has more lychee with a better powder vanilla base.

I FINALLY picked up a bottle of this little gem and I couldn't be happier!! The only con to Rose The One is the longevity - usually about 3 hours. It does last a little bit longer on clothing, and lotion can increase its length and potency as well. Nonetheless, Rose The One is the quintessential jeans fragrance and I highly recommend it. Rose The One doesn't deviate too much from the initial spray, but that's quite alright with me! Lovely lychee and beautiful rose dominate this delicate scent for the duration of its wear. It's elegant enough for a nice dinner, but best suited in my opinion to jeans and a flowy top. I keep a large number from my collection in rotation, but this is likely one I'll be wearing more frequently, as its projection is modest and inoffensive: perfect for close quarters (work, school)! I was only able to afford the 1oz bottle, but it is all but guaranteed that when my little bottle is done, I'll be back for more. Love!

Rose the One was previously my signature scent due to how obsessed i was(I still am tbh) with it. I've almost finished my bottle that i got years ago - but it's still fine.. doesn't smell off or anything thankfully. I wish for it to come back to stay because this scent is one of the ones frags that makes me feel like a classy, elegant lady. i wore this when i went to job interviews, date nights or brunches.. i was able to wear it for any special occasion. When i wear this, i feel refined.. Almost a Audrey Hepburn vibe🤣 especially when i go out for dinner. The florals are so beautiful and well mixed in my opinion. I don't get any screechiness from the litchi or grapefruit as i've read from the other comments. I just get a smooth floral - rose scent that's just super classy and feminine. This lasts all day for me and i've received many compliments. always a 10/10 no matter the season😄

I absolutely LOVE this scent! It is definitely in my top 3 and I use it as an everyday scent aswell as an evening scent - sprayed rather lightly in daytime, cause it doesnt take much to be overwhelming. This is one of the few scents that I have been complimented for. One of my collegues had to ask what I was wearing and shortly afterwards she had bought it herself. Another colleque thought I smelled wonderful too. The smell itself is a bit heavy, but it feels like the citrus and rose is lifting it up to become more fresh in a very romantic way. When I smell this scent, I see memories in a soft pink light, just like the advertisement... Actually, the colour of the juice suits the scent perfectly. The longevity is GREAT, like ... On me it easily lasts 24 hours and stays on clothes even longer. Sillage is great aswell which is why one might be careful with overspraying.

A very versatile perfume, in my opinion- it can be worn for any occasion. I think this perfume is quite office appropriate- it's a little sexy in the drydown, but not too sexy lol. It reminds me a little of Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, but that one's sweeter and this one is more tangy/slightly citrussy. Rose essentielle was an old favourite, but I think I love this one even more. I agree with the reviewer before me about the lasting power- it's really good. I've just had a long shower and I can still smell the perfume on me (and I have dry skin and it's winter where I live!). Sillage is soft to moderate. The fact that it's an edition of The One puzzles me as the two perfumes are as different as night and day (The One is spicy and a strictly night-time only scent). All in all, a lovely perfume. I definitely want to buy a full bottle.

I realize it's not the same as having an OG bottle, but the replica from https://thefragranceshop.com "Dolce & Gabbana type Rose The One for women" is really lovely. They also do ship world-wide. (I'm NOT affiliated! However, I do appreciate their service and have several discontinued fragrances from them, including this one.) I agree that it's incredibly disappointing that this perfume is discontinued. For me, it's a bright, fruity/tangy, spring-like rose that also works great in warmer weather. A bit more linear than complex, but delightful nonetheless. I wear this year round as it make me feel pretty and put together without appearing that I'm trying too hard. My husband always comments favorably on this one too!

This perfume is beautiful. The instant I spray it all the notes just flush out of the bottle all at once. There is a strong rose, lychee, and mandarin orange at the beginning which is really great because I love all those smells. The dry down is gorgeous as well; there's only a teeny tiny hint of musk but the lychee and rose blend so ever perfectly creating a wonderful aroma. All together I would give this 10/10. It's not every girl's cup of tea, but I adore this fragrance. I would say it suits a mature, romantic, and feminine woman. It's great for an everyday wear but it's lovelier at night, in my opinion. I cannot get enough of this perfume!!! I LOVE IT~

The One Rose is the definition of a cute, pretty, feminine scent. It's light, airy, rosie, fresh, and very uplifting to wear. I wear perfumes based on mood, not time of year and I'd wear this one any time, day or night, winter or summer. It's one of those fragrances that is a real pleasure, but most people would say this is a daytime scent. This one and Paul Smith's Rose fragrances are my two favourite rose scents. However, this one is much more gentle than Paul Smith's Rose. The only downside to The One Rose is the longevity - which is pretty poor, but I find, if you spritz it on your clothes, you do get a lot more mileage out of it.

I have recently begun trying more rose scented perfumes in an effort to find one I really like. I have to say that I do like D&G Rose The One because it is a fresh floral, not one that is stuffy and overwhelming. The opening is rather citrusy with grapefruit and mandarin notes. The rose comes a few minutes after I initially apply the fragrance, but it doesn't last long on my skin and the fruity/floral notes actually return. I do smell a slight remnance of rose, but for being called 'Rose The One', I would have expected a bit more pronounced scent. Even though I enjoyed wearing this fragrance, I much prefer the original.

If you ever imagine a confident woman walking down the stairs elegantly with a floor length rose gold dress with humble personality, smile on her face and she winks at you. Come closer to you, whisper something to your ear softly. This fragrance describe that kind of woman. I smell a balanced of rose and citrus in the opening with noticeable vanilla and some white floral. This is a very beautiful fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana. Moderate silage and longevity. I wish it could last more than 8 hours on my skin but 6 hours plus seems pretty good in my humid country. Definitely would repurchase.

This perfume is very soft, and a bit creamy, a different kind of rose perfume than the hardcore Tea Rose varieties. My skin really picks up the peony and lily. It's almost like a high-quality floral body wash that you'd get with a perfume set, if that makes sense. My skin reveals no citrus, surprisingly. To me, it does have hints of the original The One, but it is less intense and has less vanilla richness. It lasts a decent amount of time on my skin, about 8 hours, but not as long as the original. A lovely rose/floral-scented fragrance that invokes a feeling of clean and subtle sexy.

This is the freshest and cleanest rose fragrance I have ever experienced. It is very modern, dewy, scrubbed and pampered with fruity/rosy notes. No powder. Not too much vanilla either. Not a dry rose- a dewy and cool one. Refreshing. Aquatic fruits lighten the rose and make it friendly and happy. I love this scent. It's girly and coy- as opposed to womanly and femme fatale. It's sexy in that modern way that makes you think, "wow, where did she get her hair done? It's so new and fresh! she's probably a model or something." That is how it makes me feel. Young, fresh, and sexy.

I actually really like this. It is fruity and rosy. The scent is soft and stays close to your skin, there's no sillage to speak of here. Great for any time of the year. Quiet, subtle, and subdued. I am not a fan of rose scents, but this is beautiful. The only problem is that it lasts maybe all of two hours on my skin. You must either have some with you to reapply every two or three hours, or settle for knowing you will smell like nothing after this quickly wears off. If I had a full-sized bottle of this, I would go through it in a flash. This has been discontinued, sadly.

I absolutely love this perfume. It is one of my all-time favorites; I do love florals. It is the perfect combination of light rose and lily of the valley. Very fresh and floral. Recommend for day time and work (if your office allows). It does wear off very quickly (within a few hours) which is highly disappointing because it smells so amazing. Unfortunately it can be hard to find now that it’s been discontinued for a while. In my opinion, even though the fragrance fades quickly, if you can find it, it’s worth buying— even without testing if you love florals like me.

I had forgotten how much I loved this perfume. This morning I found myself randomly grabbing this and I think I'm going to have to add it into regular rotation. The rose is a sweet garden rose, but not overwhelming or "grandma", the pink grapefruit is a fresh tart note, I do get a hint of soft musk and warm sandlewood and the lily of the valley on the dry down the other notes are there, but none really pop out. It blends together beautifully. I was gifted this bottle for my 29th birthday and I liked it, but found it too flowery, and now at 40 I'm in LOVE ❤️

I'm 19, so Dolce & Gabbana's Rose the One is my first venture into a more "sophisticated" perfume. Keep in mind that this review is coming from a former Viva La Juicy addict, so I do like sweeter scents. I am not a huge floral lover, so when I tried this as a sample last year, I didn't expect much from it. However, I love the smell of real roses and well as rose Turkish delight, which is what this perfume reminds me of. It is quite sweet, with noticeable citrus and fruit notes. The rose I smell is not a powdery, "grandma" rose, but a realistic, fresh one.

I had it in the past, and didn't keep it, I am so happy to have it back, it is a fresh rose scent, I hesitate to say rose. It isn't your typical rose, it is an amberish crispy and smooth scent, it has some punch too..on some days it can be a bit screechy, but overall, this smells lovely, and very unique...I agree there is a plasticky/metallic edge , but the scent isn't boring, it is feminine, refined, just intriguing enough..I like it better than the original The One which has loads of vanilla.. It isn't a love, but it is definitely a like!!
