Sicily Re-Edition 2003

I haven’t smelled the original Sicily. If I compare the Re-Edition to Velvet Sicily, Velvet Sicily is woodier and more powdery, whereas the Re-Edition is more aldehydic, cleaner, and smoother. Even though Velvet Sicily doesn’t officially have a banana note, you can still feel it, but here it’s barely noticeable. In the same way, I would have expected this one to be more banana-like. Still, I liked it, and even though I already have Velvet Sicily, I bought it. They’re actually very similar. If you have one, you don’t really need the other.

It's classy soft purple musky aldehyde scent...fabulous. It's wearable through any seasons and occasions.

little soapy in the beginning and the combination of the flowers and the musk is bit old-fashioned

Ewww! No!!! This smells like straight up bathroom freshener (the old kind) cloying, unbearably loud and floral in the most nasty sense and to be honest, I quite expect to smell that underlying whiff of bootycheeks that always accompanies the puffs of freshener 🤮 Absolutely disgusting ☠️

Strange, is there anyone who remembers that the original recipe didn't actually contain banana? And it certainly wasn't. It was a cooler floral scent, soapy, sandalwood, elegant. The advertising accurately described its essence. Like when you walk into a cold church in Italy in the morning, where you still smell the cold incense from the previous mass, freshly decorated with flowers, soaping. It was beautiful, it was just right sexy and original. Here I see the original composition and so I wish it was the same even if it had less staying power. Later produced and after 2010 I guess another version from Germany had a sour note that didn't belong to it. Maybe it was the banana that did it for me.

It's highly unlikely to be a new version of Sicily, and more likely just a re-labeling of the Velvet Sicily edition, seeing as Sicily is not listed in the velvet collection any more. I wouldn't get excitied!

Shame on you D&G. Don't call it a 2003 Sicily “Re-Issue” with the most important notes missing!!! This is the 2nd insult you’ve made against our dearly loved original Sicily and flopped with.

Where is the luscious, sensual banana this fragrance is iconically associated with!!? I could cry.....
