Velvet Amber Skin

So in my perfume draw I could smell something absolutely divine everytime I opened it, so of course I had to find out what it was. I have a million samples and knew it had to be one of them that had possibly leaked, anyway, the fragrance in question I found almost immediately as it had fallen out of the samples box and was indeed leaking a tad. But oh my am I glad it did because I would never have bothered with it amongst the hundreds that I have. This perfume is absolutely heaven in a bottle, it is sweet Amber deliciousness, that is totally unisex but leans just a tad femine. I mention this because though people say, 'it doesn't matter, there's no such thing as masculine and feminine, wear what you like' the fact is, it does matter to a lot of people, and it matters to me. Anyway, whatever way it leans, It is stunning! It reminds me of Lune Feline without the smoke. I love Lune, but the smoke always bothered me. This also smells a tad like Ambre Passion LM, but honestly, it isn't in the same league! I am chuffed I found this because I have been a bit bummed with perfume lately, I try so many but non wow me. I have now found my wow, and my god what a wow it is. Thank you D&G for this masterpiece. But why oh why does it have to be so expensive because I need a bottle like now!!

Amber Skin. I want this. It’s heavily centered on that cinnamon spiciness mixed with balsams and resins, along with vanilla and amberwood accords. You get that freshness in the opening with citruses and lavender, but there’s a really noticeable Rose and Labdanum wrapped in those resins. The drydown is all about that amber, hugged by honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves, with the Rose and Labdanum carrying through the whole composition. Somehow, despite being different, there’s something here that reminds me of the heart of Musc Ravageur, just without any prominent musk and animalic notes. This is perfectly unisex. I don't smell anything that imply this being a feminine only or for women fragrance, come on! This is as unisex as it can be. Another thing I see labeled wrongly is people calling this a 'winter fragrance.' It is actually very wearable on summer evenings, and I dare say it's even more suitable and synergies better for that season than for winter. It's perfect for date nights. I think this will be my first purchase from the Dolce & Gabbana Private Collection. Next up would be Velvet Zaffrano (which is definitely a fragrance for the fall), which I honestly consider a masterpiece.

A scent that stirs many emotions within me, I don't know why. I wear it with a slight sense of guilt. Why? Simply because the price is high and the longevity and projection are weak, killing the momentary pleasure the fragrance gives me. Yet, I will continue to buy it again and again, endlessly, because the scent and purity of the fragrance make up for it. Does it have similar scents? Yes, but it remains unique.

Gorgeous ambery vanilla goodness, I would say it leans more feminine and it reminds me of replica by the fireplace without the smoke.
