Velvet Passion Oud

Love love love this. I really like oud and was looking for something unisex and slightly sweet that doesn't lean too winter-y. This is really perfect, the passion fruit is really there in the opening and stays until the end of the day, but a little more subtle. When I think I can't smell it anymore, I get a wiff of it 5 minutes later. The blend is great, fruity, woody and a little smoky. It's exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend :)

I always dislike fruity oud scents. However, this is elegant, passion fruits and saffron are more prominent to me. It's amazing. Paul did an amazing job again🏵️

Velvet Passion Oud taps into the popular, contemporary fruity, smoky Arabic oud DNA, immediately distinguishing itself with a note highly suggestive of high-end passion fruit hookah. The scent is decidedly moody and smoky, carrying a palpable tobacco leaf essence that firmly pushes it toward the masculine end of the spectrum. Crucially, the passion fruit serves as a bright, slightly playful counterpoint rather than a sugary focus, ensuring the fragrance avoids the gourmand territory. This is a remarkably clean oud—free of any discernible animalic or medicinal undertones. However, the absence of detectable floral notes is a missed opportunity, as they could have introduced valuable nuance and complexity to the composition. These days, I'm pretty sure that you can find a similar fragrance with a better price tag. The very strong sillage dies down after an hour or so, so I can't exactly call this a beast mode fragrance.

Sounds exotic and delicious on paper. The ultimate pairing with Desert Oud or Incenso perhaps? Edit: it's a smoky but decent and polite oud with a cucumber-ish, passion fruit-ish vibe—despite the name of the fragrance, it's merely a suggestive impression of passion fruit, and not a fleshed out pulpy or juicy version of it. Nothing more, nothing less. It also smells rather synthetic and artificial to me—like the chemical fruity smell of a toilet cleaner or disinfectant used in a hospital or clinic setting. Someone said this smells like hookah? Maybe. But I don't think so—it's not sweet enough and doesn't have those luscious, juicy red cherry and raspberry notes that combined with smoke and tobacco gives the vivid impression of hookah. This is just—plain unremarkable and boring. I would say it's an option for others to be polite, but to me it's a completely redundant and unimpressive add-on to the lineup—almost like an afterthought blended in an experimental and uninspired manner by an overworked and exhausted perfumer undergoing creative burnout.

Smelled this again, now on skin. The passion fruit is more mango here imo, the oud was stronger than the first time I tried it but this tester had a quarter bottle left so it might be more concentrated. There’s a tobacco leaf accord during the first hour and the mango goes from natural to synthetic, of course, fruity accords that actually last are incredibly difficult in perfumery so this development is to expect. While there’s no leather here, the oud accord is way way too realistic, smells like real middle eastern oud which is quite aggressive if not lightly dosed, and overpowers the other notes in waves throughout the day. The sweetness and fruitiness come and go. Labdanum stays until the dry down 8h later with an ambery accord and some of the oud left. It is strong, really strong.

This fragrance surprised me a lot. The passion fruit note really shines in the opening, and although it settles down after a while, it remains present for a very long time, which is something I really enjoy. The combination of oud and passion fruit is perfectly balanced. I think the fragrance is very well constructed. I’m not a big fan of perfumes with very strong or animalic oud, and in my view this one has the ingredients measured just right, so it never feels overwhelming or overdone. In my opinion, this is the best fragrance in the line. Another great one from the same line is Velvet Infusion, but it offers a completely different concept and vibe compared to this one.

THIS IS NOT OUD MARACUJA. PLEASE... this is Elyon Dubai Himeros. Like 80% the same missing the passionfruit. Which you barely get anyway but it does bring its own harshness which to me is an insult. Passionfruit is a beautiful scent. They really don't do passionfruit justice. They make it harsh and rough or overtly sweet. No better passionfruit than Coquette!!

Better than oud maracuja, passion fruit in this not as punchy as in OM, if you’ve never smelt OM you’d never know how this type of passionfruit smells together with the oud.

Very strong sweet Arabian fruity oud, great projection, loud fragrance BUT I'm sure you can get this DNA from sooooo many budget Arabian brands, sorry D&G

tested it at Saks, its one of the best in the line. better than zafferano imo. brightness of the fruit is very addictive..

Oud Maracuja but a little more smoky. If you have OM, you don’t need this one.
