Dolly: Scent From Above

With a great deal of trepidation I decided to blind buy this. I honestly was not overly hopeful but I thought it would be worth a try and the low price point. Let me say this, I can't stop wearing it. I think I was somewhat expecting a feminine floral and something soft as how Dolly is portrayed to me. But this is not soft by any measure. Wait though, don't let this stop you from trying it. Here is how my nose smells it: There is Patchouli in here but it is not heavy to my nose. I think if I were to try and describe it I would say there is the very smallest amount of Estee Cinnabar in here like a smidge. But to round off her edges and bring her up to date there is some sweetness and a touch of musk. It is addicting. I was concerned about the possibility of this being more mature but in my opinion it's lovely and not dated smelling. If your seeking soft floral feminine, well then turn and run. You will not enjoy it. But if your someone who loves Opium, Cinnabar, Interlude by Mary Kay mixed with a touch of musk and perhaps a faint hint of Ariana Grande cloud then I think it's worth a go! Lasting power ok. I sprayed it on my wrist at night and could faintly smell it in the a.m. I also could still smell it in my bathroom where I sprayed it. The trail it leaves is addicting. Very unique.

This is for her 4 body mists that were also released, they’re not on here, hopefully one day they will be, so for now I’m gonna write it on here for anyone who is interested in them :) there also could be more notes but I’m gonna write the ones that I can find 1. Dancing Fireflies has Pink Apple, Pink Peony & Pink Musks - this smells very clean but also like a fresh apple that has a tiny bit of sweetness. 2. Smokey Mountain has Tiger Orchid, Warm Tonka & Cashmere Woods - this is a scent that is very familiar, most people have probably smelt something like this sometime in their life. It’s a bit floral but it’s a warm cozy scent, you definitely get that cashmere. It’s a scent that is hard to describe. 3. Early Morning Breeze has Jasmine Sambac, Orange Flower & Sandalwood - it’s pretty heavy on the sandalwood in the beginning then it’s pretty floral. It’s a nice light jasmine scent after, kinda smells a bit clean. 4. Tennessee Sunset has Honeysuckle, Vanilla Orchid & Warm Musks - this is the sweetest one, the honeysuckle and vanilla orchid blend so well together. I can kinda get a very light caramel scent from it but with a little fruity-ness. On the skin the musk shows up the most, but in the air & on clothes you mainly get the honeysuckle & vanilla orchid.

I saw a yellow clearance sticker on a rather cheap-looking box at Beall's, so I picked it up to take a look. "Scent From Above"...I'd never heard of it before, but once I looked it up and realized it was Dolly Parton's perfume, of course I had to get it (for $11.49!) The box itself is really cheap, and not very aesthetic, but I think the perfume bottle is really pretty! The pictures make it look like it would be light pink, but the juice and the butterfly on top are more of a peachy-orange color. The bottle is square and glass, and has raised embossing of butterflies and Dolly's signature. The opening of the scent is reminiscent of Angel because I smell the fir + patchouli + black currant, but after the dry down, I do not get Angel at all. This is not a gourmand, this is definitely more of an oriental fragrance. In the dry down, I get sweet amber with a little bit of warmth from the wood, but it still has a light aspect to it, it's not a heavy, dark fragrance by any means. I can see why people would say this has a "vintage" feel to it, but I quite like it, and it's different than other celebrity perfumes that are currently popular. All in all, I am happy with this blind buy and this is a unique addition to my collection!

I am an avid Dolly Parton fan and have been since childhood, so honestly it didn't matter what it smelled like. I was going to have this bottle come hell or highwater. What makes it all the more worthwhile was that the scent actually smells pretty. Its not groundbreaking or inventive, but it never intended to be either. Dolly Parton is very candid regarding her humble beginnings, and how her collection is meant to be an olfactive retelling of her childhood. This fragrance is not meant to embody a chic Parisian, a travel-weary silk road merchant, nor Dominican coffee barista. It is a very feminine, "fruit-chouli" scent as several reviews mention below. The powder, musk, and fir beautifully blend to evoke imagery of a veil covering memory. It specifically evokes a veil as if we aren't seeing her childhood in absolute clarity. As if memory has become less clear with age. The sweetness of the pear and orange pair well with the "veil;" it smells as though we are walking home after school with Dolly and traded 5 cent fruit candies/taffy with one another. I personally love it, and will definitely be adding the other four scents from the Front Porch Collection to my repertoire.

I'm not sure how anyone would be offended by this. I got my bottle off of HSN and it came in the mail today. It's a bit sweeter than what I like for myself, though I did overspray, which I typically do. I definitely think it smells good, even though it's not my personal taste. People have mentioned powder, which I don't get too much of. A little, maybe, but not loads. It's pretty and soft, with no harshness at all. Isn't that what you'd expect from a lovely feminine woman like Dolly? I didn't buy this with the idea of wearing it myself, though I certainly could if I went very light on the trigger. And all I mean by that is it's slightly more fem than what I like for me. I just wanted to support Dolly, who I think is a terrific human being. It's a moderately priced fragrance. Regarding the bottle, it is pretty. The butterfly has meaning for Dolly Parton, which is why she chose this for the design.

When I smell this I get reminded of when I was a child and I would go with my mom to her friends house or just meet people from the church I would go to when I younger. It’s not the stereotypical “old lady” but it’s not “teen-like” either. It also reminds me a lot of when I would go get my nails done and the lotion a lot of them would use ( at least on me) when they massage your arms after smells like this. It’s floral and fruity, with musk mixed in, very well blended. It’s just really hard to describe what this smells like because to me it just reminds me of certain places/people. It’s a beautiful fragrance. Another thing, my brother absolutely loves this fragrance, obviously fragrance doesn’t have gender anyone can wear what they want. So if you’re the opposite of what perfumes market their fragrances towards, don’t be put off by the “girlyness” of this fragrance, it smells amazing on anyone.

Listen, I had to have it and I blind bought this bottle of happiness and let me tell you, Happiness it is!! What a beautiful fragrance!! I love how it is sweet, woodsy, floral and fruity and amber-y as well. As it develops, I smell a pine-y, forest-y kind of vibe and it is quite transporting! I cannot stop sniffing my arm!! I love it and I am thrilled to have it in my collection! Longevity: 5-6 hours then it’s a beautiful spicy/sweet/ fresh but amber-y kind of skin scent for hours! Beautiful!! Projection: moderate unless you douse yourself in it. Sillage: moderate as well though I’ve received compliments on it a few times. Price: I purchased it on hsn earlier this year and I am thinking of getting a backup bottle for fear it might be discontinued or reformulated? All in all, this is a big success for Dolly’s venture into fragrances, though she can do no wrong in my humble opinion 😇♥️♥️

I have the eau de parfum, and it’s a lovely warm welcoming scent to me. Smells like your favorite aunt who is like a second mama to you, but not in a bad way. On me it smells ambery and powdery, hints of sweetness and freshness. All the notes are blended well. I think this is suitable for any age but I think its really lovely for that girl who is tired of the really young girly fruity scents and want to something mature with out smelling “old”. I’m turning 25 and I have started liking less of the bath and body works fruity stuff and this satisfies the new taste in perfumes I’ve been wanting. Also in some ways this reminds me of Lush’s twilight perfume and bath bottom, but more mature lol Edit: there’s a smoky note like a cigarette smell that won’t go away on me. Makes me nauseaus

Living in England, I'd have NEVER got to try this if it hadn't been for such a lovely and kind perfumista, so a zillion blessings to kiristarr. I'm not disappointed! Dolly opens with the most beautiful peony, amber, musk and sandalwood. It's a sweet blend. I've been wearing for 8 hours and it's remained true to those notes, but the patchouli and orchid arrived to join the party, and became slightly louder than their counterparts - but to use the word loud anywhere in this scent is wrong. Whilst it has great staying power, it's an arms length projection at most in the first hour, much less as time goes on. My adult daughter loved it too, and that's the beauty of Dolly - She's ageless! I need a full bottle and I will track her down and haul her ass to little old England!

This seems to be a polarizing scent, so take all reviews with a grain of salt. Spend the $10 on the good-sized sample. I get absolutely no hairspray. My skin pulls the wood out of any scent and puts it on a pedestal, so this, on me, wears as a woodsy gourmand with light florals. It’s incredibly familiar, but the wood aspect throws a twist in there. Grounded Warmth with sweetness. I will absolutely be spending my money on a bottle. Speaking of the bottle, it’s Dolly. I don’t know what others were expecting, but this is 100% a bottle I expect from her. Very little throw, even with a good-sized spray, and lasting power is moderate. It wears closer to the skin as time goes on. I don’t know much about explaining fragrance, so this will have to do.

I LOVE this scent! It lasts longer than I realized. It stays around quite a bit and people have complimented the scent and I have to hide the bottle. The bottle itself is gorgeous. It looks pink online but it's more of a peachy orange in real life. It's a beautiful addition to any vanity table. It's definitely warm, woodsy, and a bit musky. There's a sweetness to it but the sweetness isn't overbearing. There's also a floral hint but just the right amount. It reacts to my body chemistry in a lovely way. My favorite perfume is Versace Eros Pour Femme, and it doesn't remind me of it, but I they are in the same general scent family. I highly recommend it.

Scent From Above EdT is very light; I felt like I could barely detect it & gifted it to my sister who also loves Dolly Parton. She isn't much of a perfume-wearer, and I was surprised to hear it lasts 6+ hours for her. (She has sensitive skin, so it's possible she was only spraying on clothes.) I purchased the EdP today, and find it much more suited to my tastes. The fruit stands out with incense-like sandalwood and herbaceous fir. Fantastic performance, and doesn't smell like a copy of anything I know. Love the vintage feel, but we're not talking Georgio or Poison; she's down-to-earth, well-mannered, and sweetly femme as Dolly herself.

I was really disappointed with the bad reviews for this perfume, please don't let those reviews discourage you from buying it. It did have to grow on me like any perfume because it's just how I am by all perfumes but it smells great. I think those that are disappointed by this perfume are probably used to spending obscene amounts just for the big lable names. Dolly did a great job with this perfume and the scent is Signature Dolly. It is very light and delicate and I love the bottle. As for the reviews that say it smells like old women's perfume that's not true. It's a great perfume I'd wear or buy for anyone. It's a must have. ❤️

I get fruits with a little bit of florals, patchouli, and powder. I do get an Avon kind of vibe, but I am also reminded of YSL Mon Paris; particularly the fruity patchouli smell that I associate with that perfume. I really do think that this is a beautiful fragrance, and if I were to smell this blindly I would never guess that it were a celebrity perfume. While I don't believe that fragrances are limited to age groups, I could see others describing this as a "mature" fragrance (not that there is anything wrong with that). To me, it is wonderful and comforting, and I look forward to wearing this on a regular basis.

For the price point, this perfume is amazing. The bottle is gorgeous, the butterfly on the cap is of course a showstopper, but I especially love the embossing on the bottle. It gives it such an expensive, classy feel, and none of my more expensive perfumes have such a feature. The scent itself is such a beautiful representation of Dolly and her home of Tennessee, the woody amber notes come through beautifully and at full force, but not in an overbearing way The fresh florals complement the muskiness making the perfect balance. It's such a fun, timeless scent, perfect for both old and young alike.

This kinda does have a bit of a Cloud/Burberry Her vibe, but much less medical bandage smelling, and a lot more powdery/floral smelling. It is a pleasant smell. Nothing gourmand or overly sweet at all, but doesn't smell like "old lady" neither. Not that I dislike smells that people describe as "old lady"- in fact I tend to like them. I don't think this could offend anyone. I don't love this however, and I highly doubt I would repurchase this. To me this smell is quite unique, and I at the point I now own too many fragrances.

I'm surprised at so many reviews saying it smells old lady-ish, to me this smells a like a somewhat fruity, somewhat ambery, sweet but not cloying, fairly fresh younger fragrance. I definitely get the pear and peony and not much patchouli, I tend to not like patchouli and I love this fragrance. It doesn't project very far but if I spray it on my clothes it will linger into the next day. I'm a headache girly and this one has never bugged me. The bottle is so pretty, very Dolly vibes. One of my favourites for sure!

I remember when this first came out I wasn’t feeling it,the sample I had was very loaded patchouli!! I recently snagged a big bottle of this for $14.99 at Marshall’s and completely forgot I had tried a sample back in 2021......well I don’t know if this got reformulated but this smells completely different then the trial sized sample this smells amazing!!! It’s a beautiful fruity floral!!! All the notes blend beautifully! I literally can’t get enough of this perfume!!! Sillage and longevity are moderate on me.

This was definitely an experience for me. I was not able to get even a sample when it first came out. I’ve been anticipating owning it. My first impression was that it reminded me of CACHET by Prince Matchabelli. But when I checked the notes.....not even close! 🤣 Sweet-ish, creamy and powdery fresh. I told my sister it smells like a cloud of genuine kindness. Does that help? 🤪 I can’t imagine this fragrance being offensive. But possibly it could be confused for a really nice linen spray.

I recently bought a mini of Fine'ry The New Rouge( BR dupe) and thought it smelled familiar to something I had. It smells like this on the drydown. The only difference is the Fine'ry has a pretty sharp note that this doesn't. This only feels cozy, nicely rounded and velvety to me. I honestly don't get the 'old-fashioned ' feel at all. I also only get patchouli as a warm grounding note- too bad since I love that smell. I'd say try a tester first if possible.

I'd rate this 10/10 even if I hated it, simply because Dolly Parton is a true angel on this Earth. You all better delete your negative reviews, because we all have to face our Maker and suffer our transgressions in the end 😇 I think it smells great. 80s style fruity with a hint of chypre in a freaking cute campy bottle-- that's Dolly all the way. My only complaint is that I had to walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death (Wal-Mart) to buy it.

Oh Dolly you are beautiful and so is your perfume. Just received my bottle of "Scent From Above". I can't believe how lovely this is, definitely has that sweet (cloud) vibe, which I love. It's a Scent that I think works for all ages and can be worn for any occasion. The bottle is really pretty and the butterfly glistens in the light. Will definitely be repurchasing as I don't want to find it's been discontinued. Well done Dolly💝

Makes me smile because it works well with my body chemistry. This gives me older hyperfeminine beautiful woman vibes who wears long pink nails and has diamante bags. There's a touch of class and maturity to it, its not a bubblegum teen girl scent to me. I can see Dolly with this, I see amusement parks, I see salons, I see ladies with curled hair and fresh manicures, I see cosmetologists, I see hot pink summer afternoons.

This gets a lot of compliments! I’m a teenager, and everyone that smells it loves it. It’s a very agreeable, versatile scent. It’s warm and cozy with a classy, vintage vibe. It becomes lighter and sweeter as the day goes on. I like layering it with a citrusy perfume if it needs a lift depending on the weather, but that warm coziness is just so nice. If you like warm, musky, fruity scents, this is definitely worth a try.

I'm a big fan of Dolly Parton not just because of her music, but her warm personality, and truly I think her line of fragrance reflects this! This scent is absolutely beautiful. Its a very amber-y, woody sweet scent. The bottle is adorable and this scent will probably be my new go to because of its affordability, long lasting power, and all around nice vibes. If you're into sweet fragrances you will love this!

Blind bought because I started collecting Dolly merch, so it was a keeper from the beginning. Love the packaging, so it's nice on a vanity too. But when I opened and sprayed it- what a surprise! It's so good! It's sweet but not in a sickening way, it's woody but not in a strong way, it's wonderful! Really pleasantly surprised with this one, now I need to smell the others!

I wanted to love this. The idea, the notes, the bottle were so beautiful and Dolly is the epitome of perfection so it had to be the one. Then I didn't really fall for it. Then I went to the Dreammore Resort in sevierville, several times and I wanted to try it again. Now I connect it with the Resort. I saw Dolly there the last visit. I fell in love with this perfume.

Wearing this today at work and I keep catching wonderful whiffs of... something. I think it's the blackcurrant and fir, shining through tangy and green. Every time I wear this I'm surprised by something. Today it's the way Dolly is creating a soft pleasant cloud that isn't too pushy or intense for those around me. And she's looking really chic in acid green chypre!

It wasn't at all what I was expecting and that turned me off at first. Then I kept having to go back for one more whiff. At some point I was snagged and dragged under. To never escape. I will never not have this scent. I especially love wearing it at the Dream More Resort (Dolly's) when I go there twice a year.

Rather than picking out individual notes, this scent feels to me like a smooth composition — beautiful. There’s something heavenly in it: woody, sweet, wrapped in a gentle, elegant, and deeply feminine kind of glamour. Subtle to wear, with several hours of longevity on fabric and an intimate sillage.

This smells sweet and similar to Burberry Her when that perfume doesn't decide to give me a medical bandage smell LoL. Except this one never has the damn medical bandage smell. This is appropriate day and night imo! It is calming and sweet without triggering cravings 😆

My grandmother has been wearing this scent and I loved how it smelled so much I bought it for myself. The great thing about this particular fragrance is that none of the notes are offensive at all. It’s pretty well rounded and you can’t go wrong with our girl Dolly!

All I get is blackcurrant honestly. I was wanting vintage powder but no. I just got it so I'll need to give it a full wear. Someone said Estee Lauder Cinnabar? In what universe does it smell like that. Its nice but it smells like another blackcurrant to me.

I was reminded of a more easy going Bottega Venetta, not as high and sweet, (definitely not as high a sweet note as rogue, which is BV amped up). I love the soft powdery forest fir tree cocoon. As if Bottega Venetta was a cream/lotion...

I love this one! It's fresh, sweet, and a bit powdery, which I happen to like. A bit of a grandmotherly scent, but that's perfectly alright. When you smell it, you can definitely think, "This is how Dolly Parton smells."

I absolutely don’t get all the hate for this perfume. For me, it’s a dupe for BR 540. It’s smells heavenly, and I get lots of compliments. Love the amber/musk drydown. Definitely my favorite celebrity fragrance.

Love because it's Dolly Parton. Too floral and mature for my taste. Gave away the perfume and mist. This is the only fragrance that I dislike, but would re-buy again and again to support Dolly, she's the best!

Classic and feminine, truly beautiful. It’s immediately pleasing and only gets better as it wears. My favourite.

I decided to buy this. I got a good price. I grew up listening to Dolly as a child. My parents when they were married were big fans of hers. I could never listen to the song Me and little Andy. It was so sad. I always cried if my mom played it or just go outside. My favorite song of hers is her duet with Kenny Rogers Islands in the Stream. One of the greatest love songs and duets of all time. When I first sprayed this I was surprised at how woody it was. Pencil shavings woody. One of the reviewers said it smelled masculine and I agree, the opening salvo is masculine. I almost get a Christmas vibe here and I can see wearing this to get our Christmas tree. We usually get some type of fir, either white fir or Douglas fir. And the fir note comes through for me quite strong. It gives an otherwise fruity floral some depth and interest. There is a strong black current note mingling with abstract peony, and vanilla orchid. The sandalwood comes in and tamed down the fir note a touch but for me I really get the fir note. The musks in here are lovely, more of a 70s 80s vibe for sure. I doubt very much if ambroxan was used. It has the fluffiness of goose feather pillow down to my nose. This perfume is sweet but not gourmand sweet, just musky and a bit jammy sweet. Like a good homemade black current or black berry jam served by a loving mom or grandma and that smell is mingling with her musky floral and woody perfume. Maybe the woody fragrance is coming from a father or grandpa. Delicate as the butterflies wings on the bottle. It is kind of like a family memory turned into a fragrance. I also get a touch of dolls head plastic. A child opened her Christmas present and got the doll she wanted. I think this fragrance represents Dolly's favorite memories. The bottle sure is pretty and super girly as well. I would not gift this fragrance to a child though. It is to adult but it is for the little girl inside the woman. Edit: the more I smell this the more I think this isn't for me. I like it enough but I do get a Tocca Cleopatra vibe and while I thought that was ok I gifted my mini to a friend who loved it. I think I will gift this as well. I'm sending out samples of several things to a nice friend here. If she likes the sample the bottle is hers.

I have an earlier review I gave without owning it which keeps getting upvoted and then downvoted, lol! But I own a bottle now-- so here's my true review. First of all, as already stated-- Dolly can do no wrong in my book, so let's start there. I'm a young 43, with extended family whom I never see in Tennessee and I was raised on Dolly Parton's music- although as a teen I preferred metal and rock with the loud feminists voices from the 90's and early 2000s. I'm glad she was part of my roots though. Ok, so on to the perfume...... I paid retail for this- which I hate doing with celebrity perfumes-- but I've already explained I love Dolly as a person and entertainer!! The actual perfume: I own some powerhouses. To me, this is pretty soft, a pretty peony patchouli. It doesn't smell mature to me or very strong, as I see some people saying but more like a body spray. For someone like me and you can check my collection, this is a safe blind buy as it's pretty and fairly non descript and pretty light. The vanilla orchid could have come on a little stronger-- but if it had-- would that be Dolly? No, because it would've alienated some! It seems very warm and safe, like someone else said, as if Dolly gave you a hug. I'm looking forward to wearing this out of the house and seeing if I get any compliments! 5/5 for bottle and because it's from Dolly, under any other name, probably a 3/5

I was gifted this the other day by my wonderful sweetheart coworker who heard me talking about wanting Dolly's perfume & surprise ! He hands me a bag with Scent From Above perfume & body spray after we come back from our lunches. It comes from Dolly and we all have seen her style , she never has tried to come across as a worldly sophisticate whose body is all sharp angles , hair perfectly styled and controlled to go with the all blacks , neutral beiges, greys & whites minimalist clothing . Dolly is none of that and she's perfectly happy who she is . I love that under all the wigs, rhinestones, colors , big earrings and butterflies is a very savvy business woman who's nobody's fool. Scent From Above is like the humble sugar cookie, simple but oh so very good. It's a warm hug from an unapologetically feminine woman. It's a mixture of bath oils, lotions and a whisper of a spicy perfume like maybe Cinnabar that has dried down into a skin scent . If it has a vintage vibe , it's hushed , a mere wink . My only complaint is that I wish it was much stronger , they could of gotten away with that because the notes are so polite after all and I wish that fir note would be much more pronounced , I love the idea of fir in such a fem scent. My bottle is the 1.7 size , both bottle and butterfly a pretty peachy color , I like seeing it on my dresser , it's cute and fun.

This perfume smells like drinking whiskey with a pretty girl in an Appalachian forest next to a bonfire in the evening. It has the typical notes of any feminine perfume: pretty florals, juicy fruits and a seductive amber... however... the fir and patchouli add this unique edginess that mixes perfectly with the basic feminine notes. I also get a boozy and smokey smell from this. I was pretty shocked to find no notes that matched that. This combination of typical femininity with really outdoorsy rural-ish smells creates this perfect combination that reminds me so much of the Y2K cigarette mom archetype. This is a masterpiece to me. I've seen some discourse around what perfumes a cigarette mom would wear and I think this is the perfect cigarette mom perfume lol. I imagine the type of woman who wears this has smudged tightlined eyes, a camo purse, a monroe piercing and silver hoops. Oh and her car is full of Betty Boop decals. I've always found those women so cool and this beautiful perfume matches them perfectly.

I love Dolly (who doesn’t?) and have been wanting to try her debut fragrance for a while now. I know it’s been out for a couple of years now but I finally got around to getting a bottle a few weeks ago. I’m picking up a nice powdery accord first and foremost, with fruity-floral accords filling it out... I’ll be honest, I can’t really pick out the specific fruit and floral notes here the way they all blend together, but it’s a pleasant blending, very well done. As it dries down I pick up more on the woodiness and amber. It does have a very vintage feel to me. It’s not the type of fragrance I feel fits me all that well, though, and for a while I debated doing a fragrance swap because even if it’s not for me I do appreciate it and wanted it to go to good use. However, I sprayed some on myself after having a bit of a rough weekend, and it kind of feels like Dolly herself is hugging me and telling me, “You’re gonna be okay sugar!” Thanks for sharing this one with us, Dolly!

My sample arrived yesterday and I'm trying it on today. First I smell the flowers combined. After some dry down time I smell the musk and patchouli. I didn't get the orange or fir scents at all. It lasted about 5 hours before I needed to reapply. That may be my skin not holding the fragrance long. After wearing it all day I'd say it's now more or a powdery smell. I rated the cost as OK because we don't have pricing for a bottle yet. Interesting that they sold the samples before they started to sell the bottles of the perfume. I'm sure that they have the bottles on the ready. Is that supposed to be like "taking the bait"? With the sample being the bait? Overall I like the fragrance but I don't LOVE it. Will I buy a bottle when they're on the market? Probably not. Well, maybe if they have small bottles or a travel or roll on bottling. That way I don't have to make a huge commitment to it. I just don't think that I would buy a large bottle of it.

I'm sad that this one is just a "like" for me. As with a lot of perfumes, I loved the top notes. Then, it began to settle into something that smells like the old perfume bottles on my grandmother's vanity. It's not bad...just not great. I will keep it around and may wear it a few more times during the winter. It just feels too heavy for warm weather. The gorgeous bottle alone earns it a permanent spot on my perfume display. Updated to say that after having worn this for 6 hours, I'm very pleased with its longevity. I work in a two-person office, and my officemate has a pretty much non-functioning nose, so I can't speak to sillage. But, I'm very happy with its performance over the course of the day. It's still not going to be a favorite, but I'm happier with it than I thought I would be.

I've wanted this perfume since its launch, and I hyped it big time in my head. Happily, it lives up to the expectations: This is a scent evocative of nostalgic feelings...a 70s and 80s peachy ephemera, a veil of scented dusting powder and shimmering bath oils, kitten fur, silken robes, a window open ushering in a breeze of peony and fir trees. It's surely what heaven smells like. (from my Instagram review) As are most people, I am a huge Dolly admirer, and I can say with some certainty that I can imagine that this is what she smells like. It's glamorous, but gentle. Feminine, but has a slightly masculine undercurrent that keeps it from being overly saccharine. I'm a fragrance reviewer with many choices and lots of samples, but this perfume has completely stolen my heart!

I love Dolly Parton so I picked this up for $12 @ TJMax. I cannot smell it when first applied. Then it turns into a bad dry down on my skin. I cannot make out which note or notes turn on me, but I have had this happen with other scents. I layered Vanilla Fields on top and that saved the day. Both worked well together on me. I wish I smelled the sweetness the other reviews mention but I do not. This perfume is a stinker on me when worm alone and I tried it twice. Yuk. Edit: this is the next day and I have been using this as a room spray. Wow it smells very good! The scent lasts a long time too. I recognize the scent. What other perfume smells similar? Changing my dislike to like even though I cannot smell it on my skin.
