Tennessee Sunset

This is not floral at all, I think it’s a really good year round and dare I say best vanilla in my entire collection. It’s rare these days that I want to smell like straight up vanilla. This is pure vanilla extract for the first 10-15 minutes of wear and then I pick up on something tropical, like banana with a teeny tiny hint of coconut. In the scent bubble around you it’s pure vanilla extract but if you press your nose against your skin or clothing it genuinely smells like banana cream pie or bananas foster or some other delightful toasted circus peanut thing. Please ignore the entire scent pyramid. It’s genuinely one of the truest gourmands I’ve ever smelled. It doesn’t smell cheap or horribly synthetic either. I feel like I rarely gravitate towards scents like this but I really love it. After about 30 mins the vanilla extract scent bubble is gone and you’re left with the scent of cool whip and marshmallows, it’s exactly that. Gone is the warm vanilla banana muffin, it’s all banana pudding with cool whip topping in a styrofoam bowl at a family reunion with everybody you love. Truly endearing. It lasts forever and radiates a gorgeous gorgeous bubble around you and it’s only 25 bucks at Walmart, and I can say I’ve never smelled anything remotely similar to the way this develops on my skin. I wish I was all about sweets these days because this really is a 10/10, well crafted nostalgic delight. I sprayed this before bed last night and as soon as my boyfriend walked into our bedroom he said it smelled amazing in here and it lasted until the next afternoon.

Tennessee Sunset from Dolly Parton's Front Porch Collection is sweet and beautiful, just like she is! The notes are honeysuckle, vanilla orchid, and warm musk. It smells feminine, delicious, creamy, a little fruity, and tropical. It's mostly a gourmand vanilla. I adore this one! This is my favorite fragrance from her collection. I wasn't a fan of her debut perfume Scent From Above. It was a bit too unisex for me. Tennessee Sunset is just what I was looking for, I'll wear this on a regular basis! It's around $40.00 for a 1.7oz bottle. I like the pretty butterfly cap. You can also get the 8oz body mist for $10, to spray on your clothing or hair to make it go a little further. She wanted something available for everyone, no matter their budget. That's so Dolly! Update: It has been about nine months now, and I'm even more in love with this fragrance! I've tried several sweet, gourmand leaning perfumes in all price ranges since and I have to say this one is still the prettiest! It's not just candy sweet, it's the perfect blend! The one I reach for when I want everything to feel special, or to boost my mood. This is the only fragrance I have or have tried that I have zero complaints about. I wouldn't change it in any way. It performs just as well or better than all the vanillas I've tried that cost well over $200. It's dreamy, a top shelf favorite for me. 🧁

I love this fragrance but fair warning the first 5-10 minutes is rough, it smells rubbery, like tires. After that though it is a beautiful vanilla extract with the other notes not super noticeable but adding some subtle complexity in the background. It is thick, rich and dense well somehow also being light and airy all at once. That 5 to 10 minutes are not unbearable and are more than worth it for what comes after. Be so careful with the cap, despite being plastic it is very fragile. I accidentally dropped it less than a foot well I was sitting on the floor and one of the butterfly wings broke off. Maybe it fell just so or maybe there was a weakness in my particular cap but it was quite disappointing. Anyway a minor thing, it's a beautiful fragrance. I came across this quite by accident, I didn't even know Dolly Parton had fragrances. I can't believe no one talks about them. I'd love to try Smoky Mountain, but it is quite a bit more expensive. Addicting scent... Brought out the little joyful girl inside of me. For one thing, I love the notes and even though it's not listed I smell tuberose. Tuberose is one of my favorite notes in perfume. Along with tuberose I can also smell the vanilla orchid coming through too. The notes are so smooth, I find it incredible how it smells throughout the wear. I love vanilla powdery scents and this is quite nice. This has to be one of my favorite musks. It's just beautiful... The musk melts so nicely into the skin. In the drydown it becomes a honey-vanilla powder but then it does eventually become creamy. I will admit, it does smell similar to my other perfume, Lattafa Atheeri which is supposed to be inspired by Gucci Orchid. Lattafa Atheeri is more of a fresh scent; Tennessee Sunsets starts fresh but then transitions into a warm, cozy, and creamy vanilla musk. The facet-wing butterfly is exquisite. Simple yet complex, a gem of a perfume.

This is such a gorgeous scent. I blind bought this just because I was curious, it was cheap and I love Dolly. It’s really surprised me. I didn’t expect this to be anywhere near as beautiful as it is. To me this is a bright, happy, sugary sweet, but also slightly fresh and floral scent. It’s super hard to describe. Honeysuckle flowers, drizzled in a light and creamy vanilla icing glaze. It has the perfect amount of sweetness. I love it! It could easily be worn all year round. It’s a no brainier at £20-30. I’ll need to try some of her other scents now. So pleased I have this

I just blind bought this (body spray) at Burlington for 6.99, which is much better than the Walmart price of 11.99 for her body sprays. I'm in love! It's really simple in that it's really just a beautiful gourmand vanilla scent. I honestly don't smell the Honeysuckle at all, even in the opening. I just get like a vanilla, "almond-y", "bourbon-y" scent. It smells SO good. If you love sweet fragrances, you'll love this! Next step is to buy the actual perfume! I can't stop smelling myself! Lol. Edit-I bought the perfume today. This stuff smells amazing. :)

So captivating. French buttercream or tahitian vanilla extrait. Very smooth Musk. Subtle white floral as well. Very long lasting, but has intimacy. Not presumptuous. Dollys' fragrances are spectacular and special. Do not pass on these!!! Truly puts so named "higher end" fragrances to shame...that's for you Tom Ford, Aerin, Montale, Mancera and Creed. Also, the Dancing Fireflies is happy, fun and whimsical. Thank you to a true American icon, Dolly! I am proud to wear your fragrances.

Tennesse Sunset is so yummy. This is a bit of a gormound I believe. I get a yummy vanilla floral. It’s almost got a boozy candy bite to it. Reminds me of Smokey candy peanuts. Very Tennessee. The vanilla and floral blend together beautifully. I didn’t expect this one to smell so lovely. I get constant compliments when I wear this. As well - being an EDT 5-7 hours wear time good silage - not at all complaining! This also would be a lovely EDP make. Solid 8/10

On my skin it smells like a caramel, vanilla, slight musk. The floral notes add maturity to the scent. Very subtle for me, longevity of 1-2hrs and sticks only to my skin the entire duration, so I don't think the $40 price tag for this EDT is reasonable. A perfect gourmand to me but I will return the EDT in favor of the body mist which is more economic to constantly reapply. Wish I could find this EDT for $15 or less like others mentioned.

Nice white floral on first spray and vanilla follows quickly giving a creamy sweet sensation. Musk comes in later and ultimately settles into a smooth musky vanilla, very light florals remain. Sweet but not too much so at all. I may get shot from space for this but it reminds me of Indult Tihota, a much denser vanilla musk frag. TN Sunset is a lighter ethereal cousin. And a really pleasant surprise.

I adore this fragrance! Its a very nice sweet scent that I originally got in a sample back with 2 of the other Dolly Parton scents. Within a few days I had to get the full bottle! To me, the smell reminds me of an orange creme smell but to everyone else I show it to they just think its smells more florally so maybe its just me lol

It’s a sweet & creamy vanilla mainly but the honeysuckle and vanilla orchid blend so well together. I can get a very light caramel scent from it but with a little fruity-ness. Definitely the sweetest out of the four, im obsessed

very subtle!! smells like caramel and almonds to me. also kind of like the cashmere fresh cream from philosophy? i think this is what people mean about the your-skin-but-better kind of perfumes :)

I was told that I smell like a vanilla caramel coconut cupcake, but in a "classy, comforting way... not in a childish way". Definitely a keeper.

When I purchased the body mist last summer, I was determined to have a full bottle of this in the perfume version . Once it was finally available in stores, I held off on purchasing it because it was no longer on the top of my wishlist. Fast-forward to a few days ago, I came across this bottle for only $16.99 at Burlington. Tennessee Sunset has a simple composition of Honeysuckle, Vanilla Orchid, and Musk. To my nose, this is a warm and sweet Vanilla and Coconut with a Musky dry down. It's nothing complex, but very pretty, simple, and versatile. The performance wasn't all that great. I got about 2-3 hours at best, and it sits very close to my skin after about 30 minutes, which makes me glad I didn't pay $40 for it in store. Overall, I adore the bottle in the scent, but it's not worth the $40 price tag, to me. If you see this at your local Burlington, definitely consider checking it out. Scent: 6/10 Packing: 8/10 Performance: 5/10

This perfume smells amazing! I'm surprised orange blossom isn't listed as a note because it smells very heavily like it to me. It smells like orange blossom and pineapple upside down cake to me. Extremely sweet. Quite vanilla-y. It doesn't have the gross dry down I get with a lot of sweet fragrances, though! Well worth the price. I also own the orange blossom powerhouse La Vie Est Belle L'eclat--this is similar, but safer and more gourmand. Something you can wear just about anywhere.

It’s a soft, sweet glow that quickly turns milky and lightly caramelized. It’s a warm, dessert leaning gourmand with a creamy vanilla amber base and only a hint of floral softness in the background. Pretty and cozy, but definitely more Ariana Grande fan energy than old‐school Dolly. Not my style to wear, but it’s not bad at all.

I adore this fragrance. It smells like an mature sweet cotton candy vanilla scent. It has floral in the background which makes it more mature and sophisticated. Perfect to wear all year round even on hot summer days.

I really wanted to love this. I’ve been searching for a honeysuckle fragrance, I love vanilla and the bottle is amazing. However, I was really disappointed. There is nothing close to honeysuckle present here. There is a vague, white-ish floral note, which I’m assuming is the vanilla orchid (a fantasy note) which disappears after about 15 minutes, along with a stronger champagne note. I don’t get vanilla, instead there’s a resinous amber (which is listed in the official notes.) This reminds me of Peach Fields by Skylar, a dry and woody fragrance, which is not what I expected from the notes here. This definitely has a mature, vintage vibe. Summary: This is a warm, floral, musky, somewhat resinous, somewhat powdery, dry, woody perfume. There is no honeysuckle note, and it’s not sweet. The bottle is beautiful.
