Cashmere Aura

I second the review below mine. I'm REALLY surprised that this isn't higher rated. In my opinion, this is one of the perfumes that I imagine would be very hard to dislike. I actually love it. I gave it a "love vote" above. This scent is super soapy but it's in no way outdated. It's really clean and friendly. It isn't sharp or overbearing. Definitely one of the more friendly soapy scents, very much like Jennifer Aniston's debut scent. Just friendly and inviting. It's one that I'd consider a natural, second-skin-type of perfume. Exudes that you've just stepped out of the shower without smelling like one of those citric, bathroom cleaner type perfumes. I love it! Random side note : I LOVE this bottle. It looks just like the photo above. It's got this luxurious golden bronze tint at the bottom half of the bottle. Anyway, if you enjoy soapy scents this is one of the better made ones that I've ever come across. Not sharp or sneeze inducing, not weak but not strong as to repel anyone, and also not juvenile or loaded with vanilla like everything is these days. The musk also helps to ground this perfume so the soapy accord doesn't make the scent unbalanced or too much. Last but certainly not least...performance. Performance is great. The last 4-5 perfumes I've ordered have mostly been amazing scents...but nevertheless...scents that you need to drench yourself in to get any performance out of. This luckily broke that streak. Longevity - About 6 hours. And it isn't a skin scent. it actually projects. And when I say 6 hours...that's with only like 4 sprays. 2 on each wrist, and two on my neck. And it lasts 6 hours easily. Projection - 2-3 feet and it really sticks. Not one of those scents that projects for an hour or two and is a skin scent afterwards. This one projects for hours and hours. And lasts forever on fabric. 12 hours or so on fabric. Overall score - 9/10. Before this one I bought "Cashmere Mist Liquid Nude," as well as the original "Cashmere Mist EDT." And while I love both of those...I think that I like this one the best. I absolutely love it. Easily can be worn year round.

It smells like I walked I to Hollister, A&F, NY&Co. That high end and fine wood scent. I dig it! This type of perfume is not something I would wear or typically gravitate towards. But, after I tried it. I really liked it. This is really a very nice scent.I can't see anyone not liking it. Even if you don't love it. Definitely likable. It's so neutral and comforting. The poster that said this has that "ISO E Super" vibe to it. I agree. Just much more natural smelling. Cashmere Mist Aura. "Aura" is perfect suffix adjective to describe this scent. It really is like the soft whispy hairs on a lovely cashmere and angora sweater. It does start out with a blast of aldehydes but calms down to a Balasmic, with a light airy floral. To be exact; An airy and soft then lower, deeper notes that take me to a forest—to an earthy, woodsy, grounding aroma that can also have rich vanilla and floral undertones. But yet at the same time, it is amazingly transparent and neutral, without the heavy feeling which is typical of heavy dried wood. A big fat like from over here. I get the baby oil/lanolin scent some people mentioned. Which is why I have to say I was surprised there wasn't heliotrope in the floral mix. Which I think is why it reminds me so much of YSL Manifesto L'Elixr

This fragrance was gifted to me. I imagine a sunny, crisp, cold fall morning with this perfume. I agree with the dove soap comparison as well as baby oil. This is a great “I want to smell clean” fragrance. Doesn’t smell grandma-ish in my opinion. I’m not a fan of heavy florals so this is a nice change from my usual gourmand fragrances. I love wearing this in the cold winter months it’s like a cozy sweater in a bottle. I also love spraying this on me right before bed. I don’t love it just like it and I will continue to wear it. It also reminds me of Glade Cashmere Woods room spray. Update (07-16-2019): I have been enjoying this perfume in the summertime, it really smells great in the heat! Citrusy, clean and musky light floral. It’s a new summertime perfume for me. (09-25-2019) I layered this perfume with “At the Beach” body cream from bath and body works. Together they give a musky creamy beach scent, I smell so good right now!

This smells a lot like the discontinued and hard to find Liquid Cashmere Nude. That fragrance always smelled to me as if they mixed Cashmere Mist and Liquid Cashmere together. It has the same blissful powder of CM and the lovely ylang of LC, but it also has very smooth citrus and woody notes too. Unlike some powdery fragrances, there is nothing babyish about this perfume. I find it sophisticated and womanly with a name that really suits it as it does create a sweet, though not sugary, powdery floral aura around you. Silage is good initially then goes down to a more discrete level that I could smell all day; making it a good choice to wear in close quarters or at work. I was fortunate in that I found an almost full 100ml. bottle at a good price. Unfortunately, this fragrance has now been discontinued too. So, if you are considering a purchase, now is the time while there are still bottles out there at a reasonable price.

Weird fun fact: I've wanted this perfume for around 7 years now. I remember going to a really high-end department store on my own for the first time, and being so nervous walking around the perfume aisle. After dousing myself in countless testers, I found myself really attracted to the design of this bottle and sprayed it on my wrist, not expecting much. I was immediately in awe at how much I liked it. It sparkled to me, it smelled so classy and cool. I remember how heartbroken I was when I saw the price tag, but I promised myself that one day I would get myself a bottle. Sadly it was discontinued and hard to find for a while, but I saw it online recently and got it! Thankfully the allure is very much still there for me, it smells so comforting and warm. Really, really recommend.

This smells heavenly on me. I've tested several of the Cashmere line and the majority seem to work well with my chemistry. This one is no exception. However, there is a little something magical about this particular Cashmere that the others lack. On my skin it's all sparkling aldehydes and musk and something inexplicably vanillic. It's effervescent, a bit orangey, a bit sweet frrom the ylang, a bit musky that dries to a sheer vanillic-esque veil on my skin. Sillage is a happy medium. Longevity lasts for 24 hours! I've gotten two small samples of this beauty from Sephora and whenever I've worn it I always receive compliments from strangers and family alike. I MUST have a full bottle of this lovely fragrance. A little to inoffensive to be a love for me. I like it a lot though. Subtle woody, creamy, sweet and cosy. The original cashmere mist has always been my big love of them all. Silage and longevity is about moderate on me. Office safe, quiet but just really a good and cosy scent for autumn and winter. For days when you just want to smell good without making perfume noise in the room. Lovely flanker

This just glows. It's hard to discern individual notes--instead, there is a warm, soapy, shimmering quality that feels both clean and human. It's familiar, but beautiful. Is there a name for fragrances like this, or Lovely, or Lacoste Pour Femme, or Narciso for Her? Those all smell different, but have the same quality. I wish I knew: I'd buy every one.

It isn't significantly different from the original, but I like it better !! It is brighter,at first, I detect the orange in the top notes, it seems to linger to the base, then the blond woods and musk appear., I like that it si feminine and classy....longevity or projection aren't outstanding, still, I like it, especially in cooler weather..lit is very grown up, and of course typical of Donna Karan, although I enjoy the citrusy touch!!! Nice, casual yet elegant...I like it !!

At first, I didn't really like this fragrance. I smelled more of the orange but later once it fully dried down I smelled a musky note , woody, sweet which may have been the ylang-ylang and orange. I don't get any cassis nor aldehyde note. It doesn't project, it is a light scent yet I get whiffs of the perfume throughout the day and it lasts throughout the day when I overspray.

This is a “very strong like” for me. It’s a soft vanillic woody scent. Not offensive at all. It’s the scent equivalent of a lightweight cashmere sweater that was lovingly washed in Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. Comforting, clean and approachable. Sadly, it was discontinued, from what I’ve heard.

I like this very much. I'm surprised it's not rated higher. On my skin it's creamy, fruity and slightly floral. A nice daytime scent because it's light and clean. Nothing wrong with that, I'm happy with it.

A nice soft light musk. The ylang blends well with it. A touch of shampoo. This is cozy! I’m adding it to my fall rotation.

Gentle citrus with slightly suedey musky undertones. Reminds me of Chanel Paris-Venise. Nice quality, no strident or artificial notes.

If you want to smell like an old wood wardrobe with some feminine musk... this is for you. I find the smell comforting. It's more like something I want to spray on my pillow vs myself.

Gave it plenty chances and no matter what, it smells like baby oil on me.

Fragranticans who commented below have given such an apt description of this beauty that all I can do is second their opinions! Indeed it does open like the original Cashmere Mist but with something brighter and fruity/effervescent, like a peach soda bubbly note, but not in a cheap teeny-bopper way. When I tested this, I did not like it at first because I already have Cashmere Mist, and I thought this was too similar. Cashmere Mist is a gray, rainy-day scent to me, feels like a rainy November day. So was this at first...but then there was that sunbeam of radiant aldehyde that burst through and made me go back to the perfume counter. Without looking at Fragrantica, I thought there was something soapy and familiar in here (someone below mentioned Dove soap). I think that is the ylang-ylang. Such a nice break from the overused jasmine and white flowers of late. Projection is 2-3 feet, just enough so people very close could smell it but you do not fill a room and annoy perfumophobes. Longevity is moderate, about 4 hours until dry down, but the base musk lingers much longer. It smells like the color of the bottle. It feels like a bookstore on a rainy day, or better still like coming home from a bookstore on a rainy day, making tea, and reading. Cashmere Aura cocoons me in a cloud of brightness. Sorry if that sounds like nonsense, it's just the feeling I get from this. Like a calm, competent woman who is good in a crisis and can always see the positive side of things. When I wear this I feel like I have a friend guiding me. It's the scent of my alter ego. Big love.

The person below who described this as Cashmere Mist + Chanel No 5 nailed it. I think this is a nice, inoffensive, office scent. It strikes me as something that would be great for a nurse or caregiver to wear. It's soothing and uplifting. Definitely a 'no brainer clean + powdery' scent. I have used Cashmere Mist EDP in the past as well as Cashmere Mist Luxe and there's something about these easy-breezy inoffensive sheer-vanilla-musk scents that are useful in certain circumstances and/or types of careers. I suppose you might say this is generic and boring but it would be very hard to persuade me that this isn't actually a nice scent to smell on someone! Cashmere Mist Aura is simply nice! Feels like a kind, caring and genuinely warm person would wear this. I find the longevity and sillage to be moderate. PS: just realized this smells quite a bit like Johnson & Johnson No More Tears Baby Shampoo. Totally connects with why I was thinking it has “caregiver” vibes!

A beautiful version of Cashmere Mist, warmer and soapier than the original. I'm picking up a LOT of cashmeran, although that's not a note listed (I guess it's encompassed in the "musk" note). The aldehydes are just as strong as the cashmeran, which may give it a clean & clear quality, perhaps ammonia-like on some bodies. On mine, it reads almost like an Iso E Super drydown; a very skin-like smell. Key word almost. I can't stand Iso E Super, but this reminds me of it in a good way, all the best body-essence parts without the harsh, overly-powdery and sometimes rank parts. It smells like the original Cashmere Mist mixed with the original Liquid Cashmere. I also think the top notes smell like Dove soap mixed with Cashmere Mist. I own almost all of the CM and LC lines and have never been disappointed. As much as I now despise Donna Karan herself, I know I can always trust her line of "cashmere" scents to be pleasing to me, and Aura is no exception.

I have tried the original Cashmere Mist, and about half a dozen of its flankers. This is the only one I really like!!! It's almost a skin scent. Very well blended. It fits like a soft, almost sheer peachy-tan, summer-weight sweater. Great lasting power. Feminine, but not fussy, loud, or overdone. Almost like a lighter, less musky Sensuous Nude, with a touch of pre-reformulated Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere. Also reminds me of Neutrogena sesame body oil. Edit: Told by mfg. rep that this is discontinued.

I'm trying really hard to like this but sadly, all I get is a chemical smelling vibe. It smells like a freshly cleaned bathroom. Great for the bathroom, but not to walk around smelling like. Sometimes the smell feels like it would burn my eyes. This is not the nice soft "aura" I was expecting.

I tried this yesterday at Macy's. It is beautiful. If you like Cashmere Mist then you will love this. It opens with a whisper of orange oil. It is very well blended. Smells very similar to regular Cashmere Mist. It has good lasting power. No need to touch up throughout the day. Well Done!

Disliked the original b/c of the suede note. But LOVE this version! Take a lightweight peach cashmere sweater, and steam it lightly with a warm iron, then mist with a spritz of sparkling mimosa (orange juice/champagne). Clean and uplifting without being boring.

I love CM EDP and I love this. A woody, aldehyedic CM. Perfect. So stoked I found a lone, cheap, 3.4 oz on clearance at TJ. Smells like Cashmere Mist layered with Chanel No. 5 EDT. This is perfection. However, some may find it very chemical.

May not be what you expect. I wouldn't advise a blind purchase. In fact, all one needs to do is raid their grandfather's cabinet. Is it English Leather or British Sterling? Really reminds me of Halston Woman in the silver bottle.

WOW. This is an amazing perfume. Subtle elegance. Soft, suede-like, creamy, vanilla orange musk. Simply superb. This is tied with Cashmere Musk EDT, in my opinion. Just... wow. I’m in love.
