DKNY Delicious Night

I haven't tried any of the other DKNY "apples". The marketing appears to be targeted at a younger consumer, for which reason they simply haven't appealed to me. Having read Delicious Night's notes, I decided to blind buy based on reviews - and won a 100ml partially used bottle on eBay for just under £18 GBP (including P&P) from a private seller. To me, that's not a lot of money to lose if it's a disaster. I have no idea how old this bottle is, but I can guarantee it hasn't turned; the fragrance is gorgeous. To describe it as a "fruitchouli" would be doing it the gravest disservice. I am not sure why blackberry has been voted as the most dominant note; it certainly isn't in the bottle I have. Every year, my husband picks pounds and pounds of wild blackberries (we call them brambles in the UK) and makes the best bramble jam I have ever tasted. I know what blackberries smell like, both fresh and cooked - and they are NOT the most prominent smell in DN; there is the slightest hint of natural sweetness to the fragrance. Edit: The first time I tested this was in the summer when it was hot and humid; I couldn't get the smell of blackberries lots of people had highlighted as being the most intensive note. It's now November and it has become very chilly very quickly in the south-east of England and I have the window open and the radiator off overnight in my bedroom. I sprayed this fragrance on the dress I was intending to wear the next day. Weirdly, I COULD smell blackberries very strongly when I smelled my clothing in the morning, before getting dressed. Very odd - as a top note I would have expected it to fade a lot some eight hours or so after spraying. The other thing is that a colleague commented on how lovely the scent was - she thought it smelled quite masculine on me - so maybe this could be worn by a man. I still love it. The prominent notes on my skin are rich woody/floral - warm, woody spices from the ginger, myrrh, amber, vetiver and incense. These are intermingled with freesia and creamy jasmine (one of my favourites) and slightly powdery notes from the iris. The patchouli is not a "hippy" one, but soft and subtle. This is definitely not a young girl's scent (in my opinion) and smells nothing like the currently fashionable perfumes. This is a beautifully blended, timeless, expensive-smelling and classy fragrance. I love it, despite the ugly bottle with its nasty plastic top. It is definitely a dark, "purple" scent. The sillage is initially heavy, but moderates within 30 minutes. I'll update on the longevity later, but I suspect it's going to be very long on clothing. Edit: I have Donna Karan's Black Cashmere which is sadly discontinued, now expensive and hard to source (in the UK, at least), which has base notes of patchouli and amber - I have just tried layering this with DN and the two together take the fragrance into the sublime. Update: Longevity is very good - easily 12+ hours on clothing and 7 hours on skin (although it is very much a skin scent by then).

this was a blind buy,sort of.I had never smelled it before,and it has a lot of notes that I like in it.Plus,I really like the DKNY apples,and Be Delicious is my signature.so,I decided to add to the apple family,and this seemed like a natural choice for me. It is definitely a night time scent,great for a date,or a girl's night out.I wore it on one of my overnight shifts at work.I really love this scent.It's definitely not something I would normally wear,it's very dark,and heady. Upon application,I got a heavy blast of blackberry and ginger,almost like a dessert,but mingled in was the incense,giving it a very smoky quality.It was very strong,almost too strong,was a little nervous it would be too much.it did calm down by the time I got to work,becoming a slightly swet,yet smoky incense smell,that seemed to envelop me. I really enjoyed wearing this,I felt sexy,and powerful,like a seductress out to find her next victim lol. It is truly sexy,and seductive.Bold,assertive,and very alluring.Sillage is phenomenal,I felt like I was filling the room,yet I didn't care.I want people to smell my perfume,and hopefully enjoy it as much as I do.Longevity is amazing as well,a good 12 hours,with the last two being close to skin,but still smoky sexy incense. Before this scent,I wasn't too sure about insense in my perfumes,afraid I'd smell like a head shop,but that was not the case.It is just a very sexy scent,ideal for a date,or maybe an evening in,with that special someone.A scent made for seduction!highly recommend this,for anyone wanting to feel sexy or powerful,with that certain vampy vibe!

I'm trying out my mini of this fragrance today. The ginger in DKNY Delicious Night truly stands out on my skin, or at least it stands out to my nose. So much so that it immediately reminded me of Versace Crystal Noir, whose ginger zing delights me no end. I'm not sure if the ginger is simply prominent in both fragrances, or if it just stands out to me or on my skin in particular. I'm really loving it in both fragrances. It makes them both wearable even in the daytime for me. It also makes them bright perfumes for a lively evening. To my nose the two fragrances smell very similar, except that in Delicious Night, the ginger rests on a bed of fruity blackberry instead of the toasted coconut note I get from Crystal Noir. It makes Delicious Night a little juicier and perhaps a tad lighter. I was disappointed that I could hardly detect the incense, however, which was one of the things that really drew me to try this perfume. I was expecting for it to stand out, especially seeing it so high in the prominent notes list and seeing it mentioned a lot in the earlier reviews. I don't know if I used too little or if the ginger just really overwhelms everything else for me. I'm still trying to inhale the fragrance right now, but I still couldn't find the incense, or even the patchouli. Nevertheless, I'm liking Delicious Night very much, and it may even turn out to be a love. Crystal Noir is among my favorite perfumes, so it's no surprise that I'm enjoying this one too. Out of the few Delicious flankers I've tried, this is by far my favorite.

Sometime toward the end of last year, I was in a beauty store / pharmacy with my mother when she picked this fragrance up from a specials bin. As they didn't have a tester I jumped onto this site and quickly via my phone and read some information and reviews on it, then I decided I'd just buy it and give it a shot. As soon as I left the store I opened the box and sprayed some on my wrist. At first I was a little unsure and slightly turned my nose up, ready to pass it onto Mum. The first thing I thought of was those perfumes that catch the back of your throat as someone walks by and you can't understand why someone would want to wear something so harsh. I think my nose was too quick to judge and instantly picked up the incense and dismissed everything else. But not long after, something about it began to warm to me. I fell in love with the ginger notes, it's warm (yet it also has a real crisp kind of vodka/gin zestiness) and spicy with just a hint of smokiness. The bottle itself is so inviting as I'm drawn to all things purple... Yesterday morning when I put this on I thought to myself how I should really look for another bottle to have as a backup supply. That afternoon, I walked into another one of those stores just to buy a bottle of water, the perfume was not even on my mind at the time, and as I lined up, to my surprise, directly in front of me I spotted this fragrance on special, there was just one box sitting there, waving at me! ;) It was clearly meant to be, given the thought I had that morning!

Delicious Night is a fruit of sin that grows on the vine of temptation a dark and indolic beauty a femme fatale a bad girl definitely not a scent for the average girl next door virgin, no This spells S.E.X across the front of the fruit shape like flacon the opening is fruity of frozen pomelo tangy and fun then succulent black current starts steeping through your senses like an inner Terra of earth brings an primal spirit in this scent. The Innocence of freesia falls discreetly and dries the top note with a bit of sweetness Jasmine with it's elusive delicateness opens the middle note gives it a green-tea like aroma that is meditative the leafy and intoxicating note of dark orchard sprays an scent of inhibited animalistic properties. then delicious night turns woody with dry ginger turns warm with amber Dark incense and ancient myrrh adds to the esoteric mystery of the scent which makes it unique. Delicious night conjures the inner sin of us all like a room of crushed violet wallpaper with black roses growing on thorny black vines in a black veiled bed with candles side to side of the color of off white with Myrrh burning in the celling dancing with an inimical elegance and an pale woman with black hair eyes long hair finger peaking out out from the veil with her long jet black finger nails crawling across her bed like an evil delight in her black leather cat suit this scent is sin for sin's sake.

I'll start by saying that this is my one and only 'fun-night-out' fragrance. It fits those occasions so perfectly that I don't need or want any other scent to alternate this with. It is also the 'sexiest' scent I own and the only 'sexy' scent I need, unique and one-of-a-kind. Delicious night is a wild and juicy dark fragrance with a smokey-woodsy base. It is refreshingly youthful thanks to the fruity notes, but at the same time it is also deeply seductive, shrouded in enigma, and bursting with a dark and eccentric sort of sexual energy (myrrh? vetiver? incense too? wow). And I am very pleased to report that there is ZERO vanilla in this scent, and it is also more tart and tangy than it is sweet...boy am I rejoicing!! Every other modern 'femme fatale' scent out there these days seem to share the same dark and muggy, suffocating vanilla dry-down that feels like it's just 'trying too hard' (Hypnotic Poison, Alien, Addict, etc). Not Delicious Night, no, this baby is all tangy and sinister; lusciously mouth-watering blackberries cavorting with a borderline-insane fizzy ginger; Picture them being illuminated by a mystical full moon on a cold night in the darkest part of the enchanted woods. Lasting power could be better, but layered over the body lotion, it is quite decent. I really love this stuff. A head-turner for sure :)Btw, I think this scent would be best placed in a 'fruity-oriental' category.

On a serious note, this stuff is so sexy. When you spray it, it's like ow ow sex bomb! I received this in a swap, never having tested it before. I was testing a very sweet perfume and then this one and HATED it at first. In comparison it smelled so musky, masculine, bitter and kind of just smelled like men's calogne. I was like -gag- but I decided to give it another try and i'm in love. In looooove. I was always on the lookout for a sexy, seductive, dirty, wild perfume and thought i'd find it in the Agent provocateur line but failed. Everything the positive reviews say about Agent provocateur and L'agent and everything they're about, i wanted but the AP perfumes smell too old for me, there's this dreaded rose note in L'agent that gags me.. Also this weird plasticky smell. They just pretty much stink horribly to my nose. Far from sexy. This hit the nail on the head. With Delicious night, it opens kind of masculine, dirty and cold (if that makes sense,) then calms down a little with the masculinity and is more feminine. I smell the sweet blackberries that have a very juicy wet quality and sexy incense, patchouli & vetiver softened by the florals and amber. It is a beautiful intoxicating mix. Who knew lady blackberry was such a fox ;)

Are you in need of a witchy perfume? This is it. I can't get enough of this. I'm excited that fall is coming so I'm getting ready, and I'm wearing this early. Based on my own preferences I don't always care about seasons when it comes to perfume, it's usually my skin that tells me what season Im able to wear something. I don't like it when something turns metalic in my sweat and heat. This tends to run a little strong when it comes to that blackberry note, but I don't mind because I'm always eating wild blackberries off the vine when I'm paddle boarding on the river. Its a really distinct memory. But it also brings me to lighting my first incense stick in my teenage years, and going to bars singing on stage, I sang originals. I definitely think that if I knew of this scent, that I would have been able to have even more power and confidence. I love how unisex this is, I dislike that it's hard to find. It's one of their best fragrances. This was a total blind buy and knowing how much I love these notes it was perfect. It makes me think of the Forest by my small town home. There were always little houses with firesmoke near by, where I'd walk my path smoking a joint and listening to a good playlist. It hits close to home.

Personality: Provocative, free-spirit, urban, enigmatic, impulsive. Age: 20-30...but 30+ women can pull this one off as a day-time scent. Scent: Smoky blackberries, cool citrus, spicy ginger, and dark woods. For those who love blackberry, incense and ginger notes and cannot tolerate sweetness, try this. The scent itself is one-of-a-kind with its own personality, Donna Karan's best fragrance in my opinion. When: Best for night-time in any season...but it's not too strong and can also be worn in the day-time, especially in fall/winter. Where: Clubbing, bar-hopping, dating, and nights out and about...for more mature women 30+, this can also be an office/day-time/casual scent. Sillage/Longevity: Medium Sillage (depends how much you spray on), Longevity is Average (~5 hours). JUST FOR FUN: This is a very Scorpio scent, especially those with Scorpio as their Sun or Venus sign, it captures their essence well. It also suits Aries having fun, complementing their bold, go-getter energies.and direct, 'no-frills' personalities.

This is what I imagine a classy vampire from the 1920s smells like. I’m not sure how else to describe it. It’s got glamor, but not overbearingly so. It’s a moody, sultry night scent (as one can assume from the name, I guess, but you never know) with a twinge of sadness. Calling a perfume with the word “night” in the name sexy might be redundant but I’m gonna say it anyway, it’s sexy and mysterious. There are hints of a more soft vintage perfume in there, but it’s eclipsed by bold early 2000’s fruit, just not in an expected overly sweet way. It smells like it’s of the earth. To my nose, nothing reads as synthetic at all. The blackberry is gorgeous. The incense and the myrrh are haunting. None of the notes fight with each other, and everything settles into my skin beautifully. Drydown is slightly similar to Velvet Orchid in my opinion but without that kind of distractingly screechy citrus note that shows up in VO after a few hours. This after a few hours still smells warm and smoky. I so wish it wasn’t discontinued.

Got as a blind buy, and so happy i did! For once, blind buying worked in my favour! It's amazing!! It's fruity but dark and deep, not your average scent. Even my daughter loved it, and she's only ever liked one other perfume in her life, so this must be good if it has her approval, believe me!! It's a very sexy perfume imo, definitely best for night time, i find it so hard to describe as it's one of those scents that seems to hit you with all the notes at once, though it does dry down to an intoxicating smooth sandalwood type blend eventually, even though it's not listed... think that must be the myrhh and amber combo. Sillage is great, i sprayed some on daughter and i could smell it so strongly on her from a few feet away, and longevity isn't too bad, it's still going strong around five hours later, though the fruitiness has disappeared now. Fast becoming a favourite of mine, i love it so, so much, and my only complaint is i wish i could smell the blackberry to the very end... other than that, it's heaven!!

I personally quite enjoy this one, and it's the only one I have from DKNY so far. I'd say this one is very unique. It smells like wine and dried longans(or raspberry?) at first.It's very strong, very sweet, and it can almost make you feel drunk smelling it. After a while the smell of cigarettes and incense comes up and holds the whole thing. It becomes warm and sensual, then it can be called a balmy scent, especially for those girls whose dad smokes. It's definitely a night time scent.It's very dark and noir and sexy. You can imagine the clubs and bars with colorful lights and dancing girls around you. IMO it's not an appropriate school scent or working scent; it smells almost "indecent", but in a good way XD. It smells like cities and night life, and I can say that it's truly "100% PURE NEW YORK"(which is on the sticker on the cap). The logevity is not so good but it's enough for a date. highly recommended if you go out a lot at night. I'll use it more when I have the chance lol

As many have already said this is definitely the black sheep or even "hidden love child" of the so very square dkny apple family. If I could personify the apples and imagine their family dynamic it would have to be something along the lines of having Angelina Jolie's Gia Carangi playing a 7th Brady child. You can't help hearing the "one of these things just doesn't belong here" song, which in this case is a HUGE relief because you were about to fall asleep. In my opinion, this flanker was by far the best apple. Dark, mysterious, a little fierce, smokey and sweet all at once, This isn't to say that I don't appreciate the other apples, because I actually do. Sometimes it's nice to just smell like suave shampoo. (Not being sarcastic) But delicious night is complex, sparkles the brightest over any of her sisters for me.

Delicious Night was a hit for me the second I sniffed it a few years ago. I finally bought it online this month and it does not disappoint. Why? Because its juicy, earthy, sexiness isn't something that should be reserved for evenings, fall, and winter. It's nearly 80 degrees and late April and still begs to be worn. Sprayed lightly for day, it's divine. At night, it blooms and lures all. It can't wait for June and July when it will spill its luscious pickings and waft through the heated air like it should. Edit: It's mid-November 2017. Yesterday I noted this scent lasted all day, with soft to moderate sillage and the drydown was purely deep and sultry base notes, mainly vetiver and incense, like the scent of a man's dress shirt---the one I might wear to the bathroom early in the morning...

i only recently started getting into perfumes and have been searching for a signature scent (albeit without knowing exactly what works with my chemistry and what i love vs hate), looking for something fruity and dark. after hours of looking for an affordable scent that kinda fits that vibe, i think this one really works, especially as my first intentional buy! it's not as fruity as i think i was hoping for, but it's still very pleasant and i'd prefer that over being too fruity anyway. really starting to grow on me, even though i'm not sure if it's "the one" edit - after a few weeks of consistently wearing it, i'm absolutely in love. the fruitiness definitely comes out, though some times you have to search for it, and it blends perfectly with everything else. ugh so obsessed

Absolute Love! I thought I'd never have the chance to own this again without having to pay ridiculous prices. My first was a 30ml. Then I picked up a 50ml for $20 (a used tester) and I have been treating the remaining 20ml like a baby. Until I found a website here in Australia that were selling 50ml for $140 - Instant add to cart! The juice is everlasting. By name it's a night fragrance and I certainly agree with that. Although any fragrance can be worn at any time. I do not like ginger - but the ginger in this is not a typical ginger smell to me. It's definitely there and contributes to the opening, mid and base, but its so well blended I can't identify it individually. I think Be Delicious Night is rather Linear. That does not bother me at all.

Tested it a year ago. On paper it was horrible, so I didn't try it on my skin. A week ago, I had an idea to retest it once again, because it was on sale in a fragrance store, so I gave it another try. This time it smelled divine, so strong, that evokes self-confidence, it is dark, but can be a daytime fragrance as well, suitable for spring and even in hot weather too, I can imagine that this is the perfect summer night out fragrance. I can smell of course the blackberry, incense, ginger, pomelo, orchid, and the jasmine, I have a feeling that this contains musk at the base. Longevity is superb, lasts even more on clothes, so I decided to invest in it, rapidly landed in my all-time favourite fragrance list. Overall: 9.5/10

This is a beautiful smoky, subtle patch, blackberry fragrance. The bottle is irritating and the longevity could be better. Silage moderate. This is that fragrance you put WAY too much of on in a FTW mood going somewhere in the evening, and whatever your reasons for being In A Mood, within 20” or so you’re calming down. Even though you put too much on, it refuses to blast and you are just wrapped in lightly smoky blackberry wafts. It has a little of the vibe of Bijan Wicked; maybe L’Artisan’s Mure and Musc but mixed with Donna Karan Black Cashmere or Bvlgari Black or something else punk and dark. Except it is still beautiful, with elegance. If Susan Sarandon or current Pamela Anderson were a perfume.

This is quite sexy and unique. I recently started loving incense in perfumes. However, it's hard to find something that doesn't smell too aged or isn't niche/expensive. I think the blackberry and incense balance well. The fruity-ness adds youth and wearability. There is definitely a witchy, mystical aura. This is for someone who wants to stand out. At the same time, it's not obnoxious enough for people to be offended. The projection and longevity is good. It wears down to something more subtle and closer to the skin after about an hour or two. That's when it's most charming and classy. Right now I have a purse spray but it's a pretty good price so I'm thinking about buying a full-size.

Autumn at night caught in the bottle - that's the simpliest way I can describe DKNY Delicious Night. The fragrance is quite delicious indeed - firstly there's show of blackberries and other forests fruit, combinated with incence, which gives evening and a bit dark, but still completely casual effect. An addition of ginger warms this perfume up even more, so it's my absolutely the best choice to wear in autumn. What is more, I totally adore the color of the bottle - a gorgeous tone of purple, I would love to have a dress in this color... Unfortunately, an integrity it's too heavy for day, so, as my beloved Florence sang, "only if for a night"...
