DKNY Women Fall Limited Edition 2020

Received this in a secret scent box (based on the notes listed here as the bottle image doesn’t match). At first the bergamot, jasmine and gardenia overpower everything. There’s a fleeting hint of almond, and I was excited that this might quickly develop into a nutty delight. Unfortunately it didn’t. I’ve been spoiled by niche and indie fragrances, and it’s hard to read the notes of a designer fragrance and not be disappointed when you smell it and they’re not as strong as you’d hoped. White floral should be much higher on the accord pyramid, as that is what this perfume is, with everything else underneath. As it dries it becomes warmer and the tonka, wood and musk all become apparent and blend together to make a typical base to the white floral. But I’d never describe this as strongly nutty, apart from maybe 5 mins in, for 5 mins. Underneath the florals there is a slight nuttiness is the sillage, but the sillage is only moderate. After an hour it does become more of a warm, creamy, nutty skin scent (you can still smell the perfumey white florals though). I wish this stage projected more! Overall I like it, it’s nice enough, nothing special, I can’t see how it’s scored so highly (4.41 out of 17 votes at the time of writing). What am I missing?!

This was the most surprising blind buys ever. I am used to DKNY women being fruity and fresh so when I saw this online on sale, I bought it thinking it was just going to be a twist of the OG. When I opened my package, I was greeted with this sweet nutty, creamy scent and I was shocked. It is so different and one spray is a lot. It reminds me of Black Opium and a bit of BR540 extrait. For an EDT, this is a powerhouse and I can’t wait to explore further with this scent. I am so glad I bought it and I know I will be wearing this in the evening when the weather is cooler so it doesn’t overwhelm people. Nice one DKNY
