À cœur perdu. L.B.

I bought L.B as a blind buy, feeling quite confident it would be an easy love. It has so many of my favorite notes: iris, orange blossom, aldehydes, cashmeran, AND it's composed by the wonderful Fanny Bal?!? So, great news - this tale of a blind buy has a very happy ending! I ADORE L.B.!! The orange blossom lifts the often melancholic iris up to a cheerful mood, and the aldehydes and citrus further lighten and brighten this scent. L.B. is such a charming, whimsical, beautifully composed scent. It projects the perfect amount, never loud, yet thankfully more than just a skin scent. I rarely get complimented on my scents but the first day I wore this a barista said "You smell AMAZING!" So this baby projects! (when ambroxan works, it works!) But the best part??? Usually my beloved orange blossom scents don't last beyond a few hours, whereas L.B. lasted the entire work day!!! I sprayed it on at 6:30 a.m. and by 4p.m. - I was still getting wafts! Soo impressed!! I'm loving everything D'Orsay does and find their perfumes are so elegant and tastefully done. It's fast becoming one of my favorite houses. If you're an orange blossom or iris lover, L.B. is a MUST try!!

I had a sample of this and after using it up in just a few days knew I needed a full bottle. The aldehyde notes give this a sparking quality that, combined with the citrus, makes for a refreshing and uplifting opening. It creates a beautiful scent bubble that stays in that sparkling, citrusy-floral phase for about 4+ hours on me and then a beautiful combination of iris and musk settles on the skin. I’m wearing this in the office today and it’s a good choice as it won’t overwhelm those around you, particularly once the opening settles, but is a scent the wearer can enjoy for several hours. I’ve become a big fan of this house and its understated but sophisticated fragrances that are worth taking the time to explore and enjoy. I find myself reaching for them regularly.

The scent is born saying, “hey... I’m an innocent baby neroli” It’s soooo innocent, clean, and pleasant that it managed to steal my heart. This neroli and orange blossom pairing comes with a gentle mossy character, especially noticeable in the opening. Still, that mossiness never makes it feel dated or retro. The composition reads decidedly modern. Lightly powdery texture and a very clean nature, with a dewy, watery, transparent structure as well. Despite being this gentle, the diffusion is excellent. I am revising samples from d'Orsay which is one of my fav houses, and I am realising that I glossed this gem over. it shouldn't be my scent profile at all, I am not into scents of cleanness. I don't like aldehydes normally, I can appreciate neroli and orange blossom but they are not my favs, the dry mossy base is normally meh for me. BUT this is the clean scent done soooo well! opening is gorgeous with a hint of lemon and iris combo, neroli and aldehydes are delicate, the base is soft and comforting. Subtlety is the middle name of d'Orsay, but they also always manage to have a very unique touch or twist or combo to add uniqueness

This perfume is sensual and unbelievably beautiful. It smells like clean skin with a lovely, soft iris note, delicious neroli and orange blossom and a burst of lemon, that isn't sharp at all. The dry down is cozy and lightly sweet. I just want to douse my skin in this intoxicating potion, cuddle up in a faux fur blanket in front of a fireplace with a hot cup of tea. I can't get enough - it smells amazing on my skin! ☺️

This is one of my favourites! I wear it on weekends and celebratory days. I love smelling the orange blossom on myself. I agree with the old paper comment. I find it sexy and warm. Has a quality similar to the slightly burning smell of hot skin. It makes me happy and I rarely ever find something that I like quite as much.

This is really pretty and soft. It does share a lot in common with Fleur d'peau from Diptyque but I feel FdP has more notes that remind me of old books which I love a lot. This one does have a little of that old book aspect in it, just further in the background to my nose.

hey i loveeee this fragrance for something so light it projectssss and it lastssss wore this from afternoon to night and i can still smell it (not light whiffs, I CAN smell itttt) this can withstand 35°c SEA heattt sweat and tears im in loooove hell yeahhhh

Luxurious, sensual, orange blossom, iris & moss fragrance. The only one I really love from D'Orsay & by love I mean I'd bathe in it in the Spring & dance naked in a field. It's fantastic!

i fear this is THE fairy core fragrance for me..

I liked this one at first and found it to be a delicate and powdery floral. After an hour it was still pleasant, floral and citrusy, just a little bit powdery, very refined. But then, on my skin or to my nose, it started to develop a slightly chemical-sharp quality three hours into the dry-down, the kind that tingles the nose and brings to mind industrial laundry detergent. I read online that it is the typical signature of certain modern synthetic white musks (often from the macrocyclic musk family apparently) combined with a heavy dose of ambroxan. I've been wondering for a while whether I might be partially anosmic to certain musks. If you're like me then this perfume might not be a good match. At least wait a few hours and see how it evolves.

D’orsay’s fragrances are so unique to me. These are not perfumes in a traditional sense, they’re more like scent memories. They seem to me a time capsule of important moments in life, captured by scent. À cœur perdu, with a lost heart, is a melancholy skin scent of lemons and iris. It’s clean and barely there and heartbreaking somehow. It’s clean and atmospheric, like fresh laundry or a freshly cleaned kitchen. This is the perfect scent for the first signs of spring, the heaviness of winter is with you still, but there’s hope and lightness around the corner.

This is a lovely bright, fizzy, citrus-neroli perfume. The aldehydes work really well here to create an effervescent quality - it's the kind of scent that makes you happy upon spraying. It's quite lemony, which I like, with a light touch of orange blossom and neroli. It's a bit musky but not overly so. Quite soft performance so would be ideal as an office scent or for a springtime lunch.

This reminds me a bit of Dunhill Century, but with a iris (which is nice). The fragrance is clean, soft, and laundry fresh -- and would likely be a good signature for the right person. I admire it, but it does not call to me personally.

Not sure why, but I get a burst of Rose Water ( the kind used in Turkish and North African delight).

For me it was a blind buy for a clean powdery and slightly old school scent. Right after the first application I could smell elements of Valaya from the perfume. As if the young, fresh sparkling and full of life Miss Valaya had grown old and settled down, started working in a corporate office dressed in a white shirt and a gray jacket. I would have appreciated more citrus. I definitely wouldn't put citrus in the first place in the description. The staying power on me is very weak. No compliments so far :D BUT I've had the perfume for a really short time. Maybe I'll say something different in a while :) But I'll definitely use it.

Love the top notes, but neroli is not my thing. I like it but it’s always annoying to me, no matter the frag. :(

Very heavy neroli...smells too old school...I think sur tes levres is their best fragrance by far

Hard to go wrong with citrus, orange flower, neroli and blonde wood. It’s the olfactory equivalent to a lunch of salmon nicoise salad and iced tea. That is, smart. And indeed the only fault here is formula cheapness compared to retail price, an issue that the whole line suffers from. A lovely fragrance but I’m sure I can find exactly this in richer concentration and lower price elsewhere. 3 out of 5.

This does smell similar to Parade but it lacks the effervescent/sparkling quality that celine executes so well. Albeit, L.B. is fantastic in its own way, as its drier and a bit earthier/flat (not in a bad way). I planned to declutter the one i liked least but i think i have to keep them both because they are both excellent. Parade for spring/summer and L.B. for fall/winter.

When applying the perfume first I could smell the orange blossom and citruses, however after few minutes I only could smell ambroxan, and unfortunately ambroxan is overpowering for me. Then after half hour I still only can smell ambroxan and I believe for people who dislike ambroxan on their skin this scent wouldn’t be best purchase.

Pleasant, clean, powdery orange blossom with faint iris. This strikes me as the kind of perfume suitable for people who don't like perfume. It's very fresh and unobtrusive. Boring, really. Wore this one on my morning walk and while projection was strong for the first hour or so, L.B. was almost completely gone by the 3 hour mark.

A soft, romantic, vintage smelling perfume along the lines of Apree L'ondee or Heliotrope by Oriza. If you like those type of romantic vintage fragrances, you'll love this one. It's not a big projector but it does have a presence in your small scent bubble. Perfect for romantic evenings or Valentine's Day.

Many of the neroli forward fragrances I have tend to lean masculine as they dry down. This one, although VERY heavy on the neroli, has a bit of a softer, sweet white floral thing going on. I like it. Not sure it's FB worthy yet, but it's got potential.

A lovely clean scent with Iris, leaning bit soapy with the neroli, aldehyde & orange blossom blend. Beautiful scent but I have other fresh clean scents that I love more that are similar and much more longer lasting. IG/Tiktok: @wilddew_vibes

The neroli disappears so quickyly and youre left with a very powdery iris scent. Its not a fresh scent. It has a weird old book scent feel to it.

This is intoxicating... on me, it pulls quite warm and almost balmy. Almost as if there was beeswax in this. Soft and round.
