Arome 3 Tradition

Arome 3 and Arome 3 Tradition smell totally different. While Arome 3 is a very dated smell of almost pure lavender, Arome 3 Tradition is a differnt league. It has a prominent black currant note supplied by a powdery amber base. The whole fragrance is powdery but fresh at the same time. Smells very elegant and chic. This deserves the name dandy. Lasts long and projects very well. The reviewed bottle is one of the first versions.

I have it for 2 days. Wore it last evening. Rerik's review is spot on. So what about the 12 to 19 people that voted here? What did they smell? It doesn't smell like Acqua di Parma. Not even close. It doesn't have the citruses the be in the same category. It's fresh though but not a Summer type of freshness. Also the longevity, weak to strong? I sprayed it after showering at 19.00h and could smell it on me at 8.30 this morning when I dressed up and sprayed another fragrance, like I always do. So longevity is 12h+. Projection is moderate but not intimate. What I can say for the moment, just checking it on my arm again, it is more suitable for Fall and early Spring but fresh enough to use it during Summer, if not too hot.. It's not loud or offensive so I guess it can be worn year round. It is sweet and for sure unisex. Now here it comes: I wanted to buy Le Dandy but that one has gone up in price. I paid 19,95 € on Parfumdeo (NL) for 50 ML. This one is at least just as good, not similar, maybe even better. I'm happy I've got this in my collection. 2 weeks later. I am looking desperately for another classic D'Orsay bottle. Le Dandy pour homme, Le Nomade or Chevalier D'Orsay. Regret not having bought Le Dandy over a year ago for around 60 €/50 ML when I had the chance. Edit: In the meanwhile I managed to buy le Dandy. Great classic boozy fragrance, but I like Arome 3 Tradition more. It is a modern soapy fragrance worth far more than I paid for it. Often I have been disappointed with blind buys. Not seldom expensive ones, because those are often more difficult to test than mainstream cheaper fragrances. On rare occasions though, I get pleasantly surprised. If I were to make a Top list of most unexpected amazing fragrances, Arome 3 Tradition would probably be in my top 3. Bought recently and under 50 €: 1. Goutal Bois D'Hadrien 45 €/50 ML Niche Masterpiece. 2. Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir Parfum. 47 €/50 ML. Best Iris based fragrance in my collection of 21. 3. Arome 3 Tradition 19 €/50 ML.
