Sur tes levres. E.Q.

I love me a perfume that tells a little story or manages to capture the sense of a fleeting moment. And the idea alone makes me intrigued. This is such a fragrance. Sur tes Lèvres can be translated into English something like at your lips and is an attempt to capture the moment when two peoples lips meet for the very first time. Dominique Ropion describes in an interview that he wanted to capture the intimate moment when two people surrender their lips to one another in a loving moment... To me this is french perfumery at its peak. And what i mean by that is that this is not an attempt to create something completely new or groundbreaking, super projecting or in your face. But rather to hold on to a continuom, a tradition if you will of creating beautiful, intimate, classic fragrances with just a twist of more unisex qualities keeping it modern but with the same lightness and effervescence that has made french perfumery the epitome of fragrance making for centuries. If I let it Sur tes lèvres can immediately provoke the image of memorable kisses from my past. Not in a carnal way, but in an intimate delicate way where masculine meets feminine and the scents of the surrounding outdoor all intertwine with the delicate softness of two lips meeting. The subtle duality is so beautifully executed where the exhilarating pink pepper that almost fizzes with withheld excitement meets the comforting safety inducing amber at the top. Then followed by a perfect marriage between iris and a soft only slightly animalic jasmine in the middle who perfectly blended stays on through the dry down where the kiss can rest on a bed of soft musky patchouly and cashmeran. There is also an airyness and lighness to the composition that captures the trembling in the air surrounding this particular surrender to a kiss for the first time so sweetly. And where you almost get a faint touch of something minty fresh like the sense of someone making the effort to brush their teeth before the meeting, anticipating that a kiss might be a possibility... Equal parts excitement and endearment. Technically this is a floral musk, where Iris and Jasmine are combined so it's nothing new that we have not in one way or another encountered before. But at the same time i cannot really find something in my collection that totally resembles this either. The newness lies, for me, in the merging of the masculine and the feminine that meets and softly clashes at the same time. You can sense them both individually but experience them as merged at the same time. Such an intelligent and beautiful weave of delicate emotions. As in the beginning of the scent they are more apart and the masculine aspect of the notes dominate a touch while the delicate feminine side of the same notes peak through here and there. But once the surrendering part comes they intertwine into a tapestry that is interchangeable. And the result is intimacy at its best. This is truly a fragrance that both women and men can wear. And perfect for a couple who get married. But also a fragrance easily worn in settings where you want to keep your fragrance more intimate like in a work place. Or on a date where you do not want your fragrance to wear you, but the other way around. I would wear this all year around but it is probably at its absolute best during spring and summer and perhaps also fall. It offers an intimate but still beautiful scent bubble and i can smell whiffs of it on myself without overspraying or sticking my nose into my skin for around 6+ hours. An intimate to moderate sillage af least to my nose who is though quite sensitive to picking up in scents. For someone who wants perfume to precede you before you enter the room - this is a total pass. This is for people who appreciate the delicate side of fragrances and perfume making. But if that is you - then you should absolutely try it out. D'Orsay often offer 10 ml bottles of their perfumes at more affordable prices. And if you can't get a sample - they are a good option for blind buyers. For anyone who would like to get a sweet kiss from Monsieur Ropion - this will not disappoint. I would like to know however who E.Q. is...? 😘

I absolutely love this fragrance and wish I would have purchased this and Nuee Bleu instead of Fleur De Peau. I could have bought both for the same price as the Diptyque. This is a beautiful iris and woody fragrance. The cashmeran/patchouli in the base smell like a gorgeous sandalwood and the iris is big and bright. This was an immediate love for me! I bought the D'orsay brand sample kit from Lucky Scent and so far, I love all of the fragrances by this line. I need to try Flower Lust and the Rose one. I'm having a current love affair with modern French perfumery with D'Orsay and Maison Violet. If a woody, feminine iris & violet fragrance sounds appealing to you, I think this is blind buy safe but if you want to try it, Lucky Scent is great. It usually takes 3-4 days for me to get my orders from them. Ropion is my favorite perfumer, I mean, he can do no wrong and I genuinely beleive the man to be THE best perfumer on the planet. I can't stop sniffing my hand! it's slightly powdery, not like Infusion D'Iris is, but more like a powdery violet. It's a sweet violet, non-makeup smelling iris, with a beautiful refined, high-quality sandalwood like base, with just a little pink pepper to keep it bright and interesting. I get ZERO hairspray elements from this. My sample is directly from the manufacturer.

I personally really like it. I do enjoy some of powerhouse scents like POAL, Carnal Flower, Oud Silk Mood and etc. but I sometimes am in mood for those skin-scents. in this genre (skin scents) I enjoyed wearing Fleur de peau, L'eau d'hiver. This sur tes levres E.Q. is my 3rd fragrance that I really enjoy in this genre. It is less peppery compared to fleur de peau, surely it's not leathery but it slightly has a hint of smooth leather, suede kind of vibe. not very lipsticky, but that hint of leatheriness could be vibing like a melted lipstick. The amber in the base note works kinda like 'not too sweet vanilla', cuz the pink pepper is keeping it generally clean and dry. It is just very well balanced. As somebody already said, nothing groundbreaking, but definitely very lovely, moody, cozy scent. Unisex, feels cozy, warm, and powdery so definitely recommanded for fall and winter season.

This fragrance is an absolute love for me. It opens with the soft, sweet embrace of wood, iris, and sandalwood, creamy and comforting, like a cozy lipstick but without the heavy makeup vibe. There’s a gentle, fluffy musk that wraps everything in a dreamy haze, giving it a beautifully soft and feminine presence. To me, it smells like sunshine on silk, light and airy, perfect for summer, yet it still has enough depth to feel grounding. The musky iris is subtle but present, and while the sillage isn’t loud, the longevity is impressive on my skin. It stays close like it’s meant to. I don’t get the “hairspray” note some mention at all.....on me, it’s smooth, sweet, and serene. If you like Eau Papier by Diptyque, this carries a similar quiet beauty, but with a warmer, cozier twist. Definitely a keeper in my collection.

I recently purchased. I loved it. It's hard to describe. It does have a violet type creamy scent. With a very pleasant light floral in the background. It's well blended. Extremely so. It's a smooth comforting sent. It's not beastly or strong. But it's noticable. It lays close to the skin with maybe 6 inches away. The longevity doesn't hang long. You definitely have to freshen up throughout the day. Perfect for office wear. Since I gravitate towards bombastic heavy florals. I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much. After a few samples and a half dozen wears. For the higher price point and poor longevity and low silage. it was between this and J~Scent Hydrangea. I went for the latter.

I found myself thinking about it for days. The kind of connection with a scent that makes you know: this is mine. Floral-amber-musk, powdery and balanced. It radiates comfort and invites closeness. I also get a creamy-soft nuance that melds seamlessly with my skin, almost a version of my natural scent. To me, it is very feminine. Opening with the pink pepper and then the iris and jasmine unfold, becoming sweeter and warmer as it dries down. Patchouli, amber, and cashmeran create an earthy/sensual aroma. Even though intimate, i can still smell it for 9-10 hours. Love it.

This is beautiful. A tender combination of powdery, floral and soft with something ever so slightly earthy, salty or vegetal, which to me removes it a little from some of the more simple or molecular clean musky sweet scents out there. The brand claims it is "imagined as the extension of a kiss", and it is for sure intimate and enveloping, but like a real kiss it has a little seed of something odd and surprisingly human (or vegetable). This is my favourite part of the scent. I see the connection with Dans Tes Bras, even if that one is more challenging.

After sampling D’Orsay’s extraits de parfum over the past few days (and very much enjoying Rose Blaze), it was wonderful to revisit Sur tes lèvres this morning. E.Q is a favourite of mine - to me it’s a masterpiece. There are some wonderful descriptions below which mirror my experience with it. I love the elegant and understated quality of this and other D’Orsay fragrances like À cœur perdu L.B. and J’ai l’air de ce que je suis J.R. They are quietly powerful and a joy to wear. I hope there will be more in this line as well the extraits in the future.

I love this. It sits in that same comforting, clean-skin realm as Fleur de Peau or You, but it's unique enough to easily justify having both in a collection. It captures that exact same level of intoxicating, cosmetic iris, combined with a soft, effortless brightness. It's insanely cozy, the kind of scent bubble that makes you want to crawl into bed and sleep for a thousand years. It wraps around you like a second skin with a delicate, musky warmth that feels both intimate and deeply serene. Utterly gorgeous and completely full-bottle worthy.

I have tried this perfume in the store. I was debating if I should get it. I sprayed my hand and left to think about it. Later i was constantly smelling my hand, the strip, and kept thinking how beautiful it is. I could still smell it few days later, on my coat and on the strip. I have ordered a sample from Dorsay website and cannot wait to wear it and test it more. <3 It gave me such nostalgic, soft, beautiful and elegant feeling. Loved it!

It's simply beautiful. Yes, powdery, classical, feminine, understated but definitely not a quiet molecular "my skin-but-better" thing, it has a presence and a soft projection. It's not too powdery/lipsticky, it doesn't have a vintage/old fashioned vibe, it is complex and pretty. Feels elegant, calm, feminine, refined. I will probably get a full bottle (along with one or a few more bangers from d'Orsay)

This is a blind buy! A very successful one! Weirdly in this colder months I am reaching for musky scents. I bought Governor’s Island and Over the Musk. This has got to top them all. The initial spray I am not a fan of. It smells of fresh earth but the dry down is very calming. It smells of dew drops. Like taking a fresh morning shower outside. I love the subtle sweetness to it. This is delicate. LOVE!

This is perfect iris musky scent, iris in this is juicy and then develop into beautiful purple smelling musk, I think it smells the way we thought blueberries would taste as children. Its soft and perfect but if u can't handle iris in fragrances don't buy this...I got headache 2 mins in despite the fact its soft iris...if u want to try something else from this house without iris try P.S.

This is incredibly beautiful! I ordered a bunch of samples from a website and this was one of them. I ordered a bottle immediately. Sur tes levres is soft, sweet, creamy, cozy and perfect for any time of the day or year. Within the first hour, of the first time wearing this, I received a compliment. This is not a huge projecting beast mode fragrance and love that!

i love this fragrance, makes me feel so elegant, clean, and put together. there's a shocking loud note at the first spray that smells like pink pepper glitter, and it took me awhile to get used to, but now i love it. definitely doesn't project well, but when i get a whiff of it on my skin i think, wow i have my life together today, but just for today maybe

This is a lovely clean scent that reminds me of what an angel’s skin would smell like. It is soft and delicate without being weak. The coolness from the iris note blends seamlessly with the warmth of the cashmeran. Very balanced and I can see this being a crowd pleaser. An easy everyday scent that you can even wear to work or school. 10/10!

Beautiful but way too intimate, and a wisper of a longevity. EDIT 10/19/25: I now adore this scent. Very fall coded. The carrot like Iris with the cashmire and jasmine is so comforting like a cozy sweater on Sunday morning. I feel very chic and put together. Does last moderately. Almost out of my travel. Highly contemplating a bottle.

Delicate spicy iris scent - tender and soft, yer quite fresh. After a soft start it evolves into deeper woody scent with some earthy undertones (I think that it’s a combination of synthetic woods and patchouli. Beautiful, fresh, youthful. It makes me think of a summer outing. A very feminine fragrance leaning a bit girly. But not so girly and youthful that it is only for very young women. I think a wide variety of people would like this. It does have a fresh laundry smell that might be too strong for some, but I enjoy it.

Sur tes levres translates as 'on your lips' which is apt because upon first impression the first word that comes to mind when I spray this perfume is 'romantic'. This is an intimate wearing musky white floral scent that is unisex leaning feminine. Sur tes levres smells like closeness. comfort, intrigue and allure!
