Ambery Cedarwood

I am a perfume "beginner" and have never smelled Alien before, so I'm not sure how this compares to the original, but I adore Dossier Ambery Cedarwood. It is a strong fragrance and long-lasting on my skin and on fabric. The beginning of the fragrance is a huge jasmine bomb, like walking through a forest of jasmine in bloom. & the dry-down is a nice woody scent but not in a bad way (like some perfumes can smell like hamster cages). This is a really nice flowery wooden vanilla smell, like a walk in the woods and a nice fire burning in a cabin with a candle going. But it also has a very artificial scent underneath that is a little minty, which is actually quite pleasant and calming. It's hard to describe and the fragrance does seem to change throughout the day. It's extremely enjoyable to me wearing this one. Can't wait to try the original Alien and see how it compares!

Smelled on paper and almost returned it. Kept going back and kept sniffing the paper and cap, kept hating it. Figured I should spray it on “just to see” and it was a complete 180! It was light, airy flowers. I’m laying here wearing it thinking “I am getting a tea note..”. The cardamom is very well done. Like an iced tea in the garden under a blooming tree. Drydown is powdery Jasmine. It’s a bit chlorine-y but very subtle. I just wish it lasted longer! Going to try the OG to compare and hope it is as airy. But this is a surprising love!

I first went to smell Alien, and I was pleasantly surprised, it was love at first sniff (hehehe). Unfortunately, I didn't fall in love with the price, so I went online looking for an inspiration. Boy, was I inspired. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. To my nose, it smells incredibly close to Alien, and the performance is amazing. It lasts all day on my skin and makes me feel put together no matter the occasion. It's warm, slightly woody, ambery, and floral in the most beautiful way.

Clean, fresh, and soft, feels like a really nice hug. First perfume from the dossier brand and it honestly smells really unique but also similar? Reminds me of J’adore L’or but the 2017 version and they toned down the soapiness by a tone! The amber is well rounded but really loud combined with the cardamom and orange blossom. Super white floral heavy but the dry down becomes creamy with that signature heliotrope note. Lasts pretty long even to the next day on me so 9/10!

One of my favorites, and very similar to Alien in my opinion. This was my daily scent for about a year, it's sweet and warm with heavy jasmine and amber notes. Very easy wear if you like warm florals, and really great quality for the price. Lasting power is 5-6 hours, projection is less than arm's length

Everyone’s nose is different when it comes to dupes, and this smells SO similar to Alien to me. Is it *exactly* the same? No, but I’ll take really close for $30. I used to hate alien but tried it again recently and loved it. It just makes me feel so fancy and mysterious.

This smells basically identical to Alien EDP(never smelled the original, so I mean the formulation that has been around for the past few years.The first time I ever smelled Alien was in 2020.) I would say that Ambery Cedarwood is not as strong, and doesn't have the same depth to it. However, the smell is the same. So if you want a lighter version of Alien, Ambery Cedarwood is a good choice. I can't say I would never buy Alien ever again, because it's more powerful, and I like my perfumes super strong. But this can definitely be a replacement when money is tight. Most of my Dossier perfumes have pretty good performance and longevity, so they make great substitutes for the real deal in my opinion. Edit: After having this for a while it smells stronger. I may have been wearing a different perfume that drowned out the performance when I tried this. I would definitely repurchase this over Alien because it does smell basically the exact same and I'm cheap 🤷 I love Dossier perfumes. I'm glad I didn't let negative reviews sway me from trying them, I guess I got lucky because all their dupes are spot on for me.

I took a bit of a risk on this one and was pleasantly surprised. Right off the opening I get mostly white florals, dominated by the recognizable orange blossom note. It's a bit sharp and screechy at the opening to my nose, but it opened up after the drydown into a nice woody scent complimented by the amber and white florals again. I would say that this leans more feminine, but I can see myself wearing this anyways. I think it would smell best on a spring day with flowers blooming outside. Not a bad fragrance by any means, just not my go-to.

This is a very close match to Alien, it’s undeniable. The longevity is just okay, but the initial blast is very convincing. It still has that kind of fuzzy, television static drydown DNA that I’ve noticed in several of the Dossier perfumes. Oakcha’s formulas seem to have that weirdo note as well. If you want a PERFECT match to the banger original Alien with intense longevity, I would highly recommend Brown Orchid’s Amethyst - just get it and thank me later.

First sprays of this and my reaction was “Ahhh, yes.” Brought me right back to Alien. Just a great strong fruity floral with a hint of spice. An easy reach with good longevity on me. Very high value for the money.

must smell pretty similar to what it’s emulating because i wore this and my sister, who LOVES Alien, confidently said “you’re wearing Alien aren’t you?”

once sprayed this on one wrist and Alien on another; pretty much exactly the same! Fun club scent, smells pretty, nothing toooooo interesting.

Bought this to see if I could save $ when my bottle of Alien runs out and the answer is no. It took about 15 minutes to get there and it’s not quite the perfect match. To be fair, they do say “Inspired by.” At first I smelled mostly the bitterness of a mandarin rind and the cedar wood. This would’ve done better with more vanilla. I’ve realized I don’t want a dupe if it’s not going to smell exactly like the original perfume.

Cedarwood is extremely strong & overpowers all other notes not a fan but if you love cedarwood go for it.

Instant headache for me. So aggressively white floral it hurts.

Burlington had this for just $22 and I always wanted to try it since I enjoy unique scents. Never tried the original and Im not much of a floral girl but I do love white florals in my fragrances. This is a huge jasmine bomb at first, very headache inducing actually, but once the jasmine settles down it turns into a pwodery, soapy, ambery jasmine fragrance. I dont hate it but im not sure i love it yet either lol longevity and projection is beast mode.

I still have Dossier’s original Alien dupe from when it was called Oriental Floral 3 and it listed cashmeran and other notes that are completely gone from this current Ambery Cedarwood monstrosity. This is even worse than even the current formulation of Mugler Alien. Returning. I also have Dossier’s original Angel and I was planning to buy their current Angel dupe but those notes have been reformulated as well.

This is not a good dupe for Alien by Mugler. It is way too strong and over powering smells more masculine. The original Alien it’s lighter and more feminine. This “dupe” makes me want to throw up.

This is very good for the price 💞 Does smell like Alien has strong projection on initial spray and then subdues. In offensive overall nice smelling. Smells clean and feminine

I don't understand why this is more expensive than alien, which you can refill
