Floral Marshmallow

I may get crucified for this one but...I like this better than Love Don’t be Shy. Hear me out, I originally fell head over heels for LDBS and it was the fragrance that originally got me obsessed with scents I considered it my signature nothing could dethrone the sugary sweetness that mixed with my chemistry so well. Until I ran out of it. It’s pricey for me, and I decided to give Floral Marshmallow a try. I was pleased at first but not in love, set it aside and got a travel size of LDBS at the time. It had been months when I came back to the dossier version and I haven’t put it down since, I’m on my third bottle. LDBS is definitely more powdery almost medicinally sweet and the dossier has a little bit more of the orange fruity side of LDBS that I have ended up preferring, its less musky and powdered. They are very similar but...as much as I want to come on here and say nothing is better than the OG, the dossier Floral Marshmallow has stolen my heart. I love a sweet citrus note. It lasts longer and projects better as well, I have never gotten compliments on the OG but so many on dossier. When I went to pick up my wedding dress a couple days ago I had sprayed it generously all over me and it was a couple hours later the lady at the desk immediately as soon as I walked up asked me what I was wearing and said it smelled so delicious and feminine it was distracting her. Do I think its a safe blind buy? Not really, you have to like cavity inducing sweet scents. Do I think its exactly the same as LDBS? No they are close enough to be redundant but not EXACT dupes to my nose. If you love the LDBS dna though give this a try, it does get sweeter as it sits though. You have to like sweet scents to like this is what I would caution, I mean powdery fruity candy sweet, conversation hearts sweet. Its got a touch of white florals that keeps it from becoming too overbearing though. Overall this is a 10/10 for me in my collection, I do wish it had a prettier bottle. Amazing price, very feminine, pretty, and very sweet without going into the body spray sweet category for me at least. I also wouldn’t say its a food scent either. I think most people would say this is a younger scent like 20s to 30s but I think anyone can wear whatever they please regardless of gender or age. As one reviewer said on here I’m a bit addicted!

Ever since I read that Givenchy Hot Couture has been reformulated: I've had to do some work finding a new baby. Poor me, I have to go play in perfume. Maybe I could stand to also find something irresistible, that was more economical than HC. Never had heard of Kilian or his LDBS before, but vanilla frag freaks like me seem to love the little man and his creations. Never have smelt LDBS, but I ordered Dossier's version labeled as "Floral Marshmallow" off of a whim and recommendation. Needless to say Dossier will now receive monthly child support checks from me for our new baby here. I have no earthly idea what LDBS smells like, and I never intend to give that man 300 dollars when I can smell like this for 40. If you love Dior Hypnotic Poison, Givenchy Hot Couture, Montale Chocolate Greedy, Tom Ford's Tabacco Vanille or Mugler's Angel.... any of those "sexy/raunchy/self-indulgent/bitchy" fragrances like those: BUY THIS. It smells like you are eating fruit loops out of a crystal bowl, in the private office of your lover the CEO. Naked. Wearing nothing but red bottom patent leather heels. On the top floor of the skyscraper company building, overlooking the kingdom, your bouquet of flowers are twice as big as the similar one he got for his wife. Now your slightly sweaty derriere is sticking to the exquisite leather of his desk chair. His Cuban vanilla cigar waifs through the open door to the balcony. You kiss the note pad on his desk to leave a reminder. This is not a perfume for a lady. This is for a woman. Now I know why its inspiration was called: Love, Don't Be Shy.

love don’t be shy smells like i need to sell everything else in my collection and floral marshmallow smells like i don’t have to. i get a little more florals in the opening vs. LDBS but once they dry down they’re almost identical. i’m walking around in the same soft caramel marshmallow cloud. i do think LDBS lasts a little bit longer but i mean...she better. edit: the above holds for skin but floral marshmallow is eternal on clothes, especially now the bottle has had a chance to sit for a while. two sprays in the hood of my winter jacket weeks ago has had me giddy every time i have to go out. i’d wear it literally every day except i don’t want to go noseblind, and it’s also proven a helpful barometer to measure other fragrances against. i haven’t even wanted to buy anything else in ages because nothing smells better to me. i’m capricious so i might change my mind but right now i understand where the single signature scent camp comes from. whatever it is that i love about LDBS is here in spades because when i throw a spritz of kilian in the midst i don’t really feel like i’ve been missing anything, and floral marshmallow is a good enough value i don’t have to ration it. (ironic, you don’t have to be shy with it.) bought backup bottles because i am powering through the first one. it’s on everything. the aforementioned jacket, my pillow, half the clothes in the laundry basket...that dry down is everything.

this is the perfume that got me into fragrance. before this, i had despised fragrance and completely shut it out of my life. i would constantly complain about perfumes and how everyone just had bad taste in scents (i have sensory issues). immediately after my first spray, i was shocked, hungry, for the smell of this perfume. it was a blind buy, i had no idea what LDBS was even, but it blew me away. my 50ml is almost completely gone now. people constantly compliment me when i wear this. now, it's similarity to LDBS; it is very similar. i almost completely disagreed the first 20 m after trying the real LDBS, but i realize that it's only the veeery top notes that are different. after the first 20 minutes, they are extremely similar, almost impossible to tell apart. i would say that dossier's impression has a much more artificial, strong opening, which, i am going to be honest, can be a bit suffocating. but, the dry down is gorgeous and sweet, and it lasts FOREVER on clothes, sometimes even after a wash (this is okay for me, but this may be a con for some). i would say the biggest difference on the dry down in comparison to LDBS is the 'thickness'. dossier is a much lighter sweetness, it feels shallow, not really in a negative sense, but just less syrupy and complex. LDBS smells more like something you could actually eat, something decadent, whereas floral marshmallow is light and snacky ...? i suppose ?

Oh, I love this! I’m getting crushed orange pez, or those Smartie lollipops! Definitely some zing. Some kind of powdery orange candy coated in malic acid. It’s sophisticated despite my description! I never even knew this could be a thing. It’s so tangy, sweet, and delicious. Blended VERY well. I usually hate white florals, but this changed my whole perspective. This is how all white florals should be! On my skin, I predominantly get the marshmallow, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and powdery orris. They blend so well, and make me smell so sweet without it leaning childish. I usually LOVE photo-realistic gourmands. (Ones that make me want to eat my arm.) Floral Marshmallow isn’t exactly an edible gourmand, but it’s definitely sweet. Akin to sticking my head in a gorgeous bouquet of candied flowers. We’ve all smelled flowers that make us wonder, “ Hmm. I wonder if this tastes as good as it smells.” That is this perfume. You know you can’t eat it, but dang it, you want to try! Holy moly. A very safe-blind buy if you like sweet perfumes, in my opinion. I would say this is the floral perfume for people who don’t like florals. This perfume bridges the gap between gourmand lovers and floral lovers. This doesn’t smell “mature.” I don’t agree with that sentiment. I wouldnt say it’s a young teen perfume either. I think this is 18+.

I’ve never tried LDBS, but I can tell you that this scent by Dossier is one of my favorites. I bought it on a whim during their Black Friday sale, and I’m so glad I did. It’s just so cozy and sweet and enveloping and I just want to breathe it in all day 🥰 Perfect for cold weather. I personally think it lasts a decent amount of time. Maybe not all day, but more than just a few hours for sure. And it projects for a decent amount of time before I feel like I can only smell it on my skin. It is ironically a little mature, but I’m 26 and don’t think it’s too old for me at all. As far as notes go, this one is super heavy on the marshmallow, which I think smells amazing. It is a little much after the first sprays (I use four, two on my wrists and two on my neck), but in a matter of seconds it settles into a beautiful floral/fruity candy. I can smell the orange blossom for sure, and it blends so well with the sweetness. Orange blossom and marshmallow are the two things I get most out of my untrained nose. I just don’t get how people don’t like this one. I think it’s incredible. And if I’m wrong, Dossier does have a return policy. But it’s definitely worth trying!

I bought this after trying a sample of Killian’s Love Don’t Be Shy and falling totally in love with it. It’s very similar but not a 1:1 dupe. As others have mentioned, the Dossier dupe is heavier on the citrus and orange blossom. It’s not as well blended. LDBS has an ethereal, dreamy quality, maybe a subtle animalic note that Dossier failed to replicate. Floral Marshmallow is loud and extroverted while LBDS is more delicate and reserved. All that being said, Dossier Floral Marshmallow is really, really good! It lasts a long time on my skin without projecting a whole lot. The scent I smell on myself 3-6 hours after spraying is the same as it was at the beginning. It gently fades, it doesn’t develop into a different scent. It’s exactly what it claims to be- a sweet floral marshmallow scent. It layers well with lotions and body mists that have similar notes- you can use other body care products to lean into full-on vanilla marshmallow or enhance the floral notes, depending on your mood. I’d say Floral Marshmallow is about 80-85% as good as LBDS. Not as elegant and refined, but still really lovely and scratches the itch for about one tenth of the cost.

This is a completely accurate, 1:1 replica of Love Don't Be Shy. Mine arrived this morning - I finished a travel spray of LDBS last year and truly have not stopped thinking about it since, rationing out what was left in a 5ml tester spray. The opening is identical, and I would actually argue that the projection of the Dossier one is better. I sprayed this at roughly 11am today, and it's now just gone 9pm in England - it's still there, strong and beautiful on my wrist. The marshmallow is gooey and smooth, the orange blossom has that same slightly-medicinal but wonderful syrupy quality I grew to love in LDBS, the jasmine and amber are definitely there. Fragrantica shows that the Dossier perfume lacks civet (which LDBS contains) but truthfully I notice no difference at all. The bottle is lovely, very weighty and I love the simplicity of the white, black and red label. It feels quite classy actually, and the magnetic lid is a very nice touch. This is stunning, and I'm very pleased that £29 has gotten me an exact dupe of a £355/100ml fragrance! You could completely get away with telling someone you're wearing the real thing with this one.

I had to decant it first since I’ve never tried dossier and couldn’t tell which reviews and influencers I watched were being payed to advertise the perfume. But it’s a 1:1 dupe of LDBS, which I already have decanted. Okay if we’re being technical about it maybe it’s not 100% the exact same (but it honestly basically is. Must be 99%, especially for something much much cheaper!) This is the best most identical dupe I’ve ever smelt. I’m honestly so insanely impressed im wanting to try more dossier now. It’s the same thing! Commenting on the longevity isn’t fair when it’s already strong and only costs £30. On kilians website, LDBS 100ml is 350. THREEE FIFTY! I don’t wanna hear ANY complaints about longevity here!! You can reapply at any time with how cheap it is. I’d never feel that way with the Kilian original, I’d be so scared to even look at it in case it ran out!! If you like LDBS you can’t go wrong. I was expecting it to be its own thing and slightly different as most affordable dupes are, but it’s literally just LDBS but cheaper. ❤️❤️❤️

This is the best dupe for LDBS you can possibly get. I tested Dossier on one arm and the original on the other and honestly? The dupe may be even better in terms of intensity and longevity. Other than that, they smell exactly the same to me. I get a ton of neroli and possibly bergamot or orange, but it's not sickly sweet as some other reviews suggest. It's slightly bitter at the same time, but in the best way possible. Imagine Campari, if you're a fan. Vanilla comes through in the drydown and creates a mellow, warm and cozy scent, like the softest cashmere sweater that always makes you feel snug and comfy. I got into a habit of applying it after a hot shower and a rub of orange scented body lotion, but it works perfectly on the clothes too. It makes me sad when I read bad reviews on LDBS or this dupe, because it's really undeserved. I wasn't that impressed either when I tested the original for the first time, but I started to love it pretty quickly and now I just can't get enough. So glad I gave it more than just one chance!

It's a common experience that people are underwhelmed by Love and its dupes when they first smell it. This was my experience; I sprayed the original on my wrist and thought "this is what everyone is hyping up?" Then I caught a whiff of it as the wind blew past me, and I realized it really does smell like heaven. If someone was wearing Love, I would want my nose glued to them. So I bought this dupe, and I am beyond impressed. As I write this, I have the two perfumes side by side and the Dossier version is spot on, a 99% dupe. I totally get how people could think this smells like fruit loops, or grape candy, but I think this is more complex than that. What I smell is earl grey tea with cream and sugar. "Floral marshmallow" is a perfect name for this, because it really is flowers (orange blossom heavy) fully mellowed out by marshmallow and vanilla. There's no acidity to this scent at all. Very airy, feminine, soft. This is what Aphrodite smells like.

I couldn't be more excited about this perfume! I blind-bought this, intentionally as a LDBS dupe. I adore this mature take on a marshmellow scent. I've tested LDBS several times in perfume stores on my skin and even though i haven't yet done a side by side comparison, it does smell veeeery similar! From the first spray to the dry down, this perfume smells amazing, I am very content! It, obviously, has very strong marshmellow both in the opening and dry down, but the orange blossom and jasmine (and a bit of vanilla) really turn it into a well rounded, mature scent! This scent has, especially for the price, great sillage and longevity! And of course the advantage with cheaper perfumes is, you don't feel bad about reapplying! 6 hours ago I sprayed it on (3 sprays) and 10 minutes ago after walking past my boyfriend, he told me that he still gets a strong whiff! Highly recommend!

This is possibly the best perfume I've ever smelled. I blind-bought for like $12 with free shipping. I'm not super into florals, they can be super offensive to my nose. But this fragrance. If you're a gourmand-lover trying to branch out, this is such a safe blind-buy. Obviously fragrance is subjective and anyone can wear any scent... but when I smell this, I think of a sweet, bubbly, pretty girl. It smells of sweet and powdered sugar-covered white florals with an addicting amber-vanilla dry down. With a good body-care and layering routine, I could probably get this to last and project more on my skin. It unfortunately doesn't have much of a projection, but I can smell it on my skin and clothes for about 4 hours. It's such a bummer because I am so addicted to this scent. It feels like "me" and it's so hard to find fragrances like that!!!!

I was pretty disappointed by it when I got it. It had this unpleasant mintyness that I felt overpowered anything else. I tried it again on a whim today after abandoning it for like 2 months and that weird smell is completely gone and I actually enjoy it now! It goes on more floral than marshmallowy to me, but I feel like it gets yummier as the day goes on. About halfway thru my shift today my coworker said I smelled like sweet blueberries which I loved (even tho there's no blueberry note, idk chemistry and perception are weird). I'll be honest I thought the "let it mature/macerate" people were placeboing themselves but I'm a believer now! I prefer this to LDBS now, thought to be fair i've only smelled LDBS in store and dont own it personally.

Smells like orange creamsicle! I didn’t think I would like this because I’m not typically into ultra sweet gourmand scents. bought this because I was intrigued by LDBS but couldn’t justify the price. I’m surprisingly addicted to this scent. I tried LDBS side by side with this one in Sephora, and it is very close. LDBS is more spicy in the opening from the cardamom and pink pepper, and Floral Marshmallow is definitely more gourmand. In the dry down, also get a pheromone body odor-like smell (in a good way) with LDBS from the animalic notes in the base that Floral Marshmallow doesn’t have. Longevity and projection were about the same.

I had tested this perfume within a Walmart since they were on sale, and omg.. this perfume is the most perfect sweet perfume I’ve ever tried.. and I tried many girly sweet perfumes but this one.. it’s something special, visually it reminds me of fruity pebble rice krispy treats or smarties but it’s not too juvenile smelling for it not to be worn everyday, the neroli and orange blossom mellows it out. The lasting power on this perfume is amazing too 15hrs later and I can still smell it on my shirt as if it was sprayed an hour ago. I have officially made this my ACTUAL signature smell, I will not be without it ever.

I must confess that I haven’t tried the original that this fragrance is a dupe of. But I’m obsessed with this. It is absolutely sickeningly sweet and has strong throw, so I limit myself to one spritz. But I find it to be intoxicatingly addictive. It really does smell like a vanilla orange blossom marshmallow. There is a certain element of what reads to me as black licorice but it’s subtle and just makes it more complex. This is a perfume that I wear around the house because it’s so addicting. 10/10 for me even though I could see how people could absolutely despise a scent like this.

I was so skeptical in trying DOSSIER after reading so many conflicting reviews. For some reason, (maybe because its WINTER!!) I'M having a marshmallow moment. The weirdest thing! I like spicy, ambery, dark scents, so this marshmallow flip completely shocked me. I'm into the whole cozy girl era so this fit right in and I LOOOOOVE THIS! Creamy, soft, romantic and just sweet enough for me, because one word I DON'T use when describing my favorite scents is "sweet." Idk how many hours it lasts, but I do reapply as I please. So elegant and I have been getting compliments! Who knew?!! :)

I love this fragrance! It's sweet and floral, the perfect spring scent. I haven't smelled the original perfume that it's supposed to imitate, so I can't speak to that; but I've watched YT reviews on it, and most are inclined to agree that it does smell similar. This scent lasts all day on me and my husband really likes it:) This might become my signature scent in time, we'll see. Thankfully, this was a successful blind buy; but I don't recommend this perfume as a good blind buy in general. A lot of people don't like sweet, flowery perfumes, and this is definitely 1 of them.

A pastel sugar-bubble of a gourmand, as light as air and ultra-feminine. I get powdery orange marshmallows, sugary vanilla, and a little pop of sweet orange syrup. It's sweetly flirtatious and a little shy. It's a cotton-candy sunset. It's a Fiorucci Angel T-shirt. It's drawing hearts on your Keds with pastel gel pens. To me this is an excellent dupe for Love Don't Be Shy. I'm getting slightly less powder and slightly more creamy white florals, which I kind of like, honestly. I probably couldn't guess which one I was smelling in a blind smell test though.
